I just updated Adobe Viewer and to my alarm receive McAfee with it without my consent or even knowledge. McAfee is an aggressive, nasty "antivirus" that is worse than the damn viruses! Its own uninstall feature doesn't work, meaning that you have to search the web looking for ways to remove this plague on society. Honestly an updated version of Adobe Viewer just wasn't worth this pain. I will not be using Adobe ANYTHING and I will avoid all Adobe products like the plague until they stop dealing with McAfee. Even being in bed with this horrible company makes Adobe look dodgy. Judgement by association and all that. To the C-suite in Adobe - this association will have tarnished your reputation as a credible company, and Goid knows how much damage to your sales it has already caused. Many people will not give feedback like e and will simply stop using Adobe.
I use Adobe Reader all day every day, typically opening 2-10 tabs at once and switching between several multi-paged documents. Since the latest update, every time I open a PDF I have to choose "View", "Page Display", "Enable Scrolling". It didn't used to be like that. If I chose it once, it became my default for every PDF I opened. I am reading and comparing contracts that are several pages long, and need the zoom to be large enough that I can read it, so I cannot see a whole page at once, hence the need for scrolling, rather than snapping to the top of the next page.Does anyone know if there is a way to make this a default setting? Thanks!~Jen
SINCE THE 2024.003.20112 UPDATE THE READER IS TAKING OVER SEVEN MINUTES TO OPEN PDF DRAWING FILES, THIS IS WAY WAY TO LONG . I REGULARLY PRINT PDF COPIES AND ONLY NEED TO VIEW AND ZOOM AROUND TO CHECK & VERIFY THE PRINT IS OK. 7 MINUTES SPENT TO BE ABLE TO DO THAT IS A COMPLETE & UTTER WASTE OFF TIME. BEST SUGGESTION UNTIL THIS FIXED, IS TOO SWITCH TO ANOTHER FREE PDF READER (PDFgear) AND EVEN OUR IT PEOPLE AGREE.
Hi - please advise how I deal with this "The document you are trying to load requires Adobe Reader 8 or higher. You may not have theAdobe Reader installed or your viewing environment may not be properly configured to useAdobe Reader."
I was on my county's superior court site to get court forms, legit site. There was a link to download Adobe PDF to fill out forms so I can print out. I unchecked the McAfee Scan Plus box and clicked download. I was so mad when McAfee had downloaded anyways that I uninstalled Adobe, but McAfee would not uninstall. I called them twice both times. They wanted me to let them gain remote access to my laptop, apparently it's the only way the app can be uninstalled.. My laptop is running a bit glitchy and I'm afraid it McAfee all over again. Problems with them 2 years ago.If anybody knows how to uninstall McAfee, please I need help. Thanks
Good morning, I am running version 2024.003.20112/64-bit. It has been happening for a few months now and my IT department can not find a reason for it crashing all the time. I have tried all available options from reinstalling, and doing a deep clean of Adobe, to disabling some functions as discussed in other forums and rebooting. It has just started closing itself now.Is anyone having the same issue and found a way to fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
For a couple of months, every time I scroll between different pages, it stops responding. I have unchecked the advanced security-enhanced settings in the preference. What else can I do?
I was trying to use some tools in Acrobat Reader on my Windows 10 PC, but it required me to sign in. However, I noticed that I was already signed in, as shown in Menu > Help > Sign Out (Moderator: Email address removed due to security and privacy concerns). Despite this, the "Sign in" option is still displayed in the top right corner of the screen, and clicking on it does nothing. I’m still unable to use the tools because it says I’m "signed out," whatever that means. I’ve already tried the Help > Repair Installation and Help > Check for Updates options as recommended in similar posts. I also tried signing out and signing back in, but the "Sign in" button still appears in the top right corner. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
This is for the Adobe engineers. New GUI for Acrobat DC Pro (Mac) crashes when cropping a book of 300 pages. I switched to the old GUI and there was no problem with that task.
I am chatting with the AI Assistant and it assessed 9 PDFs with scientific articles. It gave me a good summary of important information from all of them. In the chat, it uses numbers representing the reference/literature/paper from which that information was taken. However, when I copy the chat (or only the answer) these numbers (and hence all literature citations) disappear. I need a way to save these numbers/citations with the text from the chat so I can refer to them later. The assistant can't give me a list of the PDFs in the collection either, no matter how I ask! I can't save the collection either, so there is no way to know which documents were used after I close the app! Any help on how I can solve this?
As of 6/18/2024 I've noticed that both Jaws/NVDA Screen readers are not interacting with Links in Adobe Reader accurately. The screen reader links list is accurate, the links are read by the screen reader correctly if you are doing say all command or navigating with arrows/some commands. The issue is when you use the tab key to navigate between links. The links either do not read or a link gets repeated for multiple links. I've run all the latest updates for all programs to try and resolve this. It's happening on multiple computers, also an issue for others in an accessibility group. We've tested multiple PDFs both converted from MS Word and InDesign and get the same error. We've tested PDFs that were converted recently and PDFs that were made accessible in 2020 (ruling out any conversion issues that would have happened from a Office/InDesign update). It seems to be an Acrobat issue that needs to be Resolved? PS: The Acrboat Pro Update 24.002.20857 has di
Just upgraded to Reader DC and I don't like the floating toolbar but would like to permanently fix it to the top of the document when it opens. I can move it to the top by clicking on the icon on the far right of the toolbar or Ctrl + H, but I would like it always at the top without the clicking. Previous versions of Reader allowed this to be done but I can seem to figure it out in DC.Help?
Reader will start to open but crash very quickly. This happens if I open Reader or open a pdf with Reader. I can see previews in Outlook. I have tried uninstalling, using the remover app, deleting all adobe folders from appdata, rebooting, and reinstalling and still the same result. I'm lost as to what to try next.
When type a search term into the search window and get the message: “Adobe Acrobat Reader has finished searching the document. No matches were found”. This is even though the search word is included in the document.See here example for the term "High"This happens on many documents that I use regularly and for which the function has always worked. Search stopped working last week, but after a long search, I also found documents in which the search works.I have alredy try to:- change all the search options like: Whole Words Only, Case sensitive etc…- repair the installation : "Help / Repair Installation". but none of that helped. Can you advise what else should I try? However, it will probably be a mistake in the last update, because everything worked until last week.I run Acrobat on 64-bit Windows 10 Enterprise 1809ThanksJiri
In working on my own PC and on those of friends, I've tried installing Adobe Reader only to find it's actually Adobe Acrobat and it keeps wanting me to login. I do have an Adobe ID, so I can login, but my friends don't, and they don't understand why they should need one in order to use Reader. It's almost as though Reader, as a product, no longer exists and it's become more or less a "demo" version of paid Acrobat. While I can understand Adobe doing this in order to market their paid Acrobat product, this is a very sneaky bait and switch. How can I get Adobe Reader, install it, use it, and have it remain Reader rather than changing to Acrobat?
Nach Kündigung meines Acrobat Reader Testaccounts kann ich kein pdf mehr erstellen (z.B. bei Word- oder Excel-Dateien)
I had a client send me pdf copies of documents. We downloaded them all and placed in a gdrive file. Now, when I attempt to open them they all say that they cannot open because it says "adobe cannot open pdf because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged". However this came right off a thumb drive where it opened. HELP please.
I'm new to formulas and working with Adobe. I'm having a problem figuring out why my balance drawer sheet is not calculationg correctly. If there is an error made, and you go back to correct it, the final totals do not update.
Hello,I've encountered an issue with Adobe Acrobat Reader where the "Reverse Pages" option is consistently checked by default. I find it frustrating to have to uncheck it every day.Could anyone provide guidance on how to change this setting permanently?Thank you for your assistance.
Hi everybody, I got this problem: whenever I try to print from the acrobat app, my printer starts the process then, after a couple of seconds, it stops and the process simply disappears from the printing queue. When I try to print the same file from Chrome, it prints without issues. I'm using Acrobat from creative cloud, I tried to re-install it without success. Thanks in advance

A couple of days ago I was searching for a file (send and Track). I had to scroll to bottom of page, when I was given a choice of " clear or cloud". It was not delete recent files, but clear recent files. I clicked clear and lost all of them Is there any way to retrieve these files?? Thank you, Jim Bravos
