Any updates here? I've got an old project with 40+ spots in that I need to reversion use this plugin and I'm seeing different results!? It's ridiculous to update a plugin and not be able to replicate what it did before. There should be an online repository where we can download older versions of plugins for situations like this.

I have always had issues getting assets from Cinema into AE, with keyframes and animations being completely messed up. Baking out keyframes sometimes helps. This time, I am having issues getting an animation from AE to C4D via the exporter. It's one 3D layer with dimensions separated. This should be simple to get right, but if it can't, then it's completely useless. The animation does not match up. All sorts of weirdness is going on.

The After Effects team still seem to be asleep on this. The current workaround is use OCIO Display Transform a comp up so you can jump to it every time you want to show your client what the image actually looks like. Can an Adobe employee elborate on why we are still waiting for this? Is there any reason why the OCIO DT can't be built-in to Mercury Transmit?

Any update on this? Bit fed up of having to wait for renders to export when they are already cached to RAM. You would think that if it's in RAM then it would also be stored as disk cache but in a lot of instances it doesn't seem to work that way.

Given that mercury transmit seems to circumnavigate the Display Color Space drop-down when in a color-managed project and sends a very wrong-looking image to my Blackmagic Decklink, what is the workaround if there is one? It's impossible to run a client session like this and plus, I miss my external monitor. Who needs to fix this, Adobe or Blackmagic? Surely Adobe needs to make Mercury Transmit follow the same output transform as the composition viewer or are video device vendors expected to build OCIO transforms such ACEScg>Rec709 as an option in their software?

I can confirm this is still a problem in 23.4 Changing the input color space for a multilayerd exr has no effect on the image. Looks like extractor is reading the data before any transform is applied. Another minus in the incredibly flawed AE EXR workflow. Needs fix asap.

I'm finding the whole OCIO implementation laughable. As soon as I switch to it AE becomes unusable. Either black screen or or freezes on a one frame. Joke.

Just happened to me again. Despite an Adobe representative on the user voice forum saying this was fixed, it clearly isn't. Here is my very simple workflow that Premiere/Encoder no longer seems to be able to handle. Step 1. Import footage. Generally this will be ProRes 422 MOVs. The framerate of these files will be 23.976. I change it to 25fps. Step 2. Cut in a 25fps sequence. Everything looks as it should on the timeline. Step 3. Send to Media Encoder. Here's where the problem is. Doesn't matter what type of file I export to. It will only ever be DNxHD 36/185 movs or MP4s. It will randomly and intermittently render out wrong in and out points of the clip as though it's reading from the file at 23.976. This does not happen when exporting one sequence at a time via Premiere Export. When using Send To Media Encoder, a temp project gets saved in the background that Encoder reads from. This project seems to not always look at the modified interpret footage settings of 25fps. I don't know how to spell this out any simpler than I have done. I have used the same hardware for the last 3 years and this workflow for the last 10 years. This bug came in around 12 months ago. I cannot trust Send To Media Encoder anymore so I have to export each sequence individually. Time consuming when you are knocking out numerous spots in one go.

Had this problem for years using two different systems and two different types of Blackmagic cards to output so this is not limited to Nvidia cards. Feed stops on average every 5 mintues but occasionally can be within seconds of each other. The fix is to swtich comps which gets tedious. Anyone from Adobe care to step up and finally get to the bottom of this one?

I get that 20 years ago hard drives weren't the quickest and there was a limited choice in codecs so it made sense to playback from RAM. But now we all have SSDs and DNxHR exists I don't get why AE has not been re-written to playback straight from a hard drive rather than moving it into RAM first. It would be great for AE to playback from disk with a choice of codec and bit depth dependent on a users needs and system capability, much in the way that Resolve does with smart cache (see pic). Uncompressed I gather would be a strain on most systems but this is overkill anyway, certainly for playback - I challenge anyone to point out any differences between uncompressed and DNxHR HQ and if people wanted to keep working uncompressed then the option could always be there to playback from RAM but for me and I would assume many others 10bit DNx would be fine. This will mean longer timelines and smoother playback as AE isn't having to move disk cache to RAM for stuff further up the timeline when playing back.

Still happening in 22.6.2. Why the — has this not been fixed yet? Time and time again I am looking like a complete — in front of my clients because they are being supplied with edits full of completely random edits. All I am asking for is Encoder to encode what I am seeing on the timeline. It's a fairly basic ask of any NLE. Sort this — out.

I shouldn't have to use 3rd party tools. There was no issue a few versions ago and the exports directly from Premiere are fine - it only seems to be when exporting via Encoder. 99% of my footage is ProRes 422 movs. They are mastered TVCs at 23.98fps which I interpret to 25fps for UK broadcast. I've had the same workflow for years, this bug has only come about recently.

Still an issue in v22.5 Exporting via encoder is just a no-go for me as I can't trust it anymore. Having to export timelines one by one is painful. Any chance you devs want to fix this bug that you have implemented??

Still not fixed in 22.2.0 Rendered a sequenc via Encoder and it rendered something different to what was on my timeline. Re-rendered via direct Export and was correct.

Now that 'More Options' ia no longer availabe in Interpret Footage > Main to select the number of EXR channel layers to be cached, what exactly is happening with EXR cache this days? Do all Layers automatically get cached? Just the one being accessed via EXtractoR?

Premiere renders out the wrong section of the clip to what is actually on the timeline. It's doing this roughly 25% of the time. Possibly related to changing the framerate of footage. It looks like the clip use the new framerate of the file on the timeline but when it comes to rendering, it uses the original framerate. It's very intermitent. Issue could also be related to outputting via Media Encoder as I don't think I've seen this happen yet when exporting directly from Prem. Another issue which could be related is recently I opened up an older project in the latest version of Prem and all the video files had defaulted back to their original framerate.

Been getting this all day. HD comps with not a lot in them other than a few mulit-channel EXR layers stacked on top of each other. 128GB Ram system with 90% of that given to After Effects. AE seems unable to release some of the ram it is using to allocate it to new frames. At first I though it might be on about GPU memory so I switched to software rendering but it still does. Is EXR decoding done on the GPU? Win 10 19043 24 Core Threadripper 128GB RAM 2 x 3080 10GB

Nope. Try it yourself. Make a comp, add a solid, draw a mask. Zoom in to 1600% and see if you can get your mask to match the edge. Just checked with AE 17.6 and everything works as it should. Something is seriously off and is effecting EVERY composition you and everyone else is working on right now.
