After Effects

I'm trying to refine a mask on a difficult footage, but now the mask is having a weird behaviour while working on it. Suddenly some keyframes of the mask turned black, while others flips the image. I recently learned how to do a green screen replacement on AE using Mochae, it worked really well the first few times. It's super easy and efficient.BUT!Since then I haven't been able to save any new tracking data, I updated AE to the latest version, still doesn't work. On the right part of the screen I see the loading info saying "Saving 2%" and it disappears right away, failing.I really need to submit my video edit and make the green screen replacement!!!! Please help. I don't know what's wrong!

When I export a transparent video from After Effects, the .mov Quicktime file isnt playable. Here's what I'm doing:In AE ...File > Export > Add to render queueFormat = QuicktimeChannels = RGB + AlphaVideo codec = Animation When I try to preview the .mov file, I get an error message that says "The file isn’t compatible with QuickTime Player." Any ideas?

I can't find my previous post, maybe it was deleted?I have reported problems with deactivating an old CS6 license and have already tried everything possible. it seems to be because it no longer works with Win 7.So would an upgrade to Win 8 be a solution or would it have to be 8.1?The whole thing is strange, because there must be a solution if the PC breaks down, right?

 i have a new pc and when i try to run ae it opened but when i click new project it dos't work and give me this messsage my pc 5070 and core i5 14600 with 32gb ram 

Hello,I was using CC 2018 with no issues, everything was working fine. But for the new cool features i wanted to upgrade to CC 2020. But I couldn't even try it because I can't import any kind of file. Each time it says"Could not read from source. Please check the settings and try again. (86 :: 1)"And then "this .xx file is damaged or unsupported"These files work well with CC 2018 but CC 2020 doesn't accept them, tried different video formats, different codecs but it just keeps saying that. Solution provided here https://community.adobe.com/t5/after-effects/ae-cc-error-86-1/td-p/9376397?page=1 didn't work also. What should I do? Is there something wrong with the installation of AE? Hi Everyone,I'm building a custom CEP panel for Adobe After Effects 2025 (v25.3) and facing an issue when executing .jsx scripts via csInterface.evalScript().On the first run after launching After Effects, when I click a button that triggers a script from the Scripts/ folder, I get the following error: Unable to execute script at line 5. Expected: ;Strangely, after dismissing the error popup, the script still runs correctly. And on all subsequent clicks (until AE is restarted), the script executes with no error.Why does this error only occur on the first execution after launching After Effects? 

i'm new to after effects and i want to render my composition. everything looks perfect when i preview in timeline but while rendering the clips i'm stuck with this error.please help

I am curently using a Mac, whenever I open After Effects(2024), the Menu Bar at the top disappears. The menu bar comes back when I click on other softwares or even the desktop, but quickly disappears when I go back to after effects, which is troublesome since I want to go to the Windows, Effects, and other tabs only available on the Menu Bar. Is there a way to fix this problem?

I'm trying to recreate this timeline effect, but I can't work out how to make the text/shapes inverted inside of the TV box whilst also moving everything along. Based on the Documentation, I should be able to set the settings on the Output Module by doing: render_queue = engine.adobe.app.project.renderQueue render_item = render_queue.item(1) output_module = render_item.outputModule(1) output_module_data = { "Format": "QuickTime", } output_module.setSettings(output_module_data) print(output_module.getSettings().toSource()) However, when I try to set settings in this way, there is no effect. I saw there's a bug that causes "[the] OutputModule object to be invalidated after the output module setting is modified, so you need to retrieve the Output Module again after you modify it." I tried reselecting, but either way the setting does not seem to be modified. Can anyone help? 

I was having a regular problem where After Effects would freeze up my whole computer when I was switching to File Explorer to find footage to import. The whole screen would freeze, the mouse wouldn't respond, CTRL+ALT+DELETE did nothing and after a few minutes the screen would go white and eventually come back. Even when it did, AE would remain unresponsive and need to be restarted. It turned out there was a really simple solution which can be fixed in the Preferences. In the import section, uncheck "Enable Hardware Accelerated Decoding". It's requires a restart but after that, the problem hasn't reoccurred for me!

Not quite sure how to explain this as I am very new to After Effects so hope this makes sense! I used the rotobrush tool at the beginning of my project to remove the background of a video. It's been working really well until I removed a section of video from later in the project (not sure if this is the actual cause of the problem though) and now the rotobrushed section keeps jolting ahead of the video. Everything I've seen says this could be a problem with the frame rate but I haven't changed anything since it was working and the composition rate seems to be the same as the original.

When I work on a project and I make the rulers visible in the canvas window, if I adjust the height of the bottom timeline/layer window, the canvas will slide to the left in the window as I adjust. If I turn the rulers off, the canvas stays in place as I move the timeline/layers window. It's not a huge issue but a fix would be great considering I adjuist the timeline/layer window as I work.
