After Effects

Good day.Please tell me, I'm trying to write a script that will create a text layer and add a color animator there, so that I can change the color in certain words from a sentence, but every time I do this, I get a null error in the line of code where rangeSelector is used.  

When I create a AE project in Apple ARM and want to send it to my Windows PC to work on further, the file opens with an error message and then won't let me open the project (see attached picture showing error). I'm on AE Version 23.0 on both my Windows and Mac computers.  I can assume why this is an issue since migrating many things from Mac to PC is never seamless, but shouldn't AE files be editable regardless of operating systems? Just curious if this is a bug or a general issue I've never seen before, thanks!

Hey I worked with the plug in saber.Everything worked fine and it looked pretty good in the preview. But after I rendered the video, the saber plug in was not in the videoI hope anyone can help me it is really frustrating.

Under paragraph menu, there is an option to align text to the left, center or right. There is also an option to justify text.How can this me done with expressions or Extendscript?I noticed that if I set Anchor point to the top left, additional text added on the same line is left aligned. If I set anchor point to the left-center, all the lines added in the future are left justified, but current text remains as it is. Align options under paragraph don't move anchor point and also work for the text already typed.I guess you could save the text, delete it, move anchor point, paste the text back and move anchor point back where it was to achieve the same effect. But there is probably a better way?

Hi,My assistant and I intstalled AE 2023 and now have a major issue : The preview freezes after a few secondes/minutes of using the software (on both of our computers.) It's a total freeze of the preview image (the rest of the software is still responding) at a certain point in the timeline.Nothing to do but closing the software when it happens, and it happens every 30s to me currently, so it's impossible to work. GPU drivers are updated, we already tried to clear Disk caches and Database media caches. We dont know what to do. Does someone have a hint ?my specs :CPU : I7-10875RAM : 32GO DDR4GC : Nvidia RTX 2070OS :Windows 11 Pro 64bitAE  v23.2.0

Hello. I receive a mogrt file from my customer. I've modified it in After Effects and I would like to export it but when I do so, the name of the mogrt file comes back to its original name. How can I fixed that?...the name is coming back to its original name after pressing the button "Export graphic animation template...".

Hi community. Is it possible to make these circles  1,2,3 follow the corners of these lines, where ever I position them on the canvas, they follow allong? My initial thought was draw the line animation, where the line changes shape, making zig zags and random wave shapes, and then add in the same shape 3 circle shapes, and I thought of using the pick whip to connect their position, but didnt work. Whats the best method to achieve this? Thank you.  

Is there anyone out there in the community that might be able to help me solve a problem I have created but can't seem to figure out what I've done.I'm working on the composition titled 'Lockup' in the attached file 'Insights Live Virtual Lockup Animated_Strong Glow_BIGGER GLOW'. I've created a neon glow using mask layers (several layers with differening brush sizes, opacities and gausian blurs) and layers with a gradient background that use the mask layers in Track Matte. I'm getting a flicker at the end of the letters (most visible on the lime green because of the contrast with the background). I can't figure out why the glow is flickering. The changes in brush size and gausian blur on the mask layers last for longer strecthes of time, they're not jumpy, sharp movements like the flickering. The width of the gradient glow is created by the fluctuating size of the stroke in the mask layer, but as far as I can remember and as far as I can tell there's nothing on those mask lay

Hi, I have a technical question that could somewhat be solved with "Wiggle Paths" but it doesn't work quite the same way. I'd like to know if there's a simple way to apply Wiggle only to the points of a vector shape in After Effects, just like this plugin does with mask points. I tried applying it to a vector shape, but it doesn't recognize it; it only works if it detects the element as a mask. Thank you in advance for your help,

Hi there.I have this script saved as an animation preset. This one works perfectly on certain compositions, but not all.What I did was selected the time remap add a keyframe, paste the script. Save the preset.As mentioned on most compositions it works, on others it doesnt.When it doesn't i have to manually enable time remap and paste the exact same script. Hi,I want a specific location icon to start its y axis  animation (math sin) after a certain time period when the first animation ends. So, my first trim path animation ends at 185 frame. (6 sec 5 frame) , I dnt know how can I write the expression to tell the green location icon 'hey green location icon now you start your animation''. please help me. 😥I can sense that I have to use value at time expression. but what should I write?😥   

Hey Y'all,     I have imported multiple PSD files with many comps/layers.  I need them all to be 3D layers, but I don't want to manually go into 30 comps and change the layers to 3D by hand.  Is there a script or some quick way to do this?  Thanks!

Hi,I'm trying to import a VR video from C4D and I'm following a tutorial in which the person checks "Allow scripts to write file and access network" in AE under general.When I go to mine, I can't see that line, I see others like "show tool tips", etc.I already uninstalled and installed after effects and it's still not working so I haven't been able to import the  AEC file.Please help!Thanks.

Hi! I have a problem with rendering this Element 3d object I made in blender. The shadows flicker and even changing the renders settings (very high sampling etc) the problem happens. You can see it in the clip below. Also with no particular lights the edges flickered. AO is switched on. Do you know how to solve this please??

I have tried to render this project more than 4 times now, and each time the same issue happens and it comes out super glitchy and blurry. Everything looks fine when I play it back before rendering, and I checked my settings and they seem to be good (or just what i've always used which has been working for me). I tried changing a couple things each render, like using less layers and less effects but it still comes out the same so I'm just wondering what the issue could be. After this I rendered out another project that didn't have any text in it and that one turned out fine, so I thought the issue could be with the text or the font but even when I tried to render an image of the text that I screenshotted it turned out the same. I've attached what it looks like after rendering, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone!Recently I encountered the color matching problem on After Effects and Premiere Pro and need your help.I created an animation title for the music video on After Effects (the pink color code is #F9B7A7) and after I import the AE file to Premier Pro, the color becomes lighter and desaturated. I tried other colors (yellow, blue, red) but it doesn't match no matter what.How can I solve this problem? I attached the screenshot from both AE and Premiere Pro below. AE version is AE 18.2.1 and Premiere Pro's version is V15.0.

Hello,I have an affect effects file, on this file I have a text box with a name.I want to change the name to "Stephen", then add it to the render queue, and then change the name to "Jamie", then add that to the render queue and so on until I have 50 different names in the render queue. And then click "render" so I can leave my PC running and it renders all 50. How do I do this? (When I add each one to the render queue and start the render, it only creates files for the last name I entered and not each name. I.e. it creates 50 files but all with the same name, enough I changed the name on each before adding each to the render queue). TIA

I know this is an old topic, but I can't find anybody talking about this specific one: CONTEXT AND MY ALL LIFE WORKFLOWLet's imagine I need to export my video in H.264 mp4 because I need them to be a small file. In order to do this, my workflow that I've been using without a problem was: Pre-render in After Effects, changing the video output module to Apple ProRes 422 HQ, Clicking the "Queue in AME" button, then once it's added on the Media Encoder Queue, I check if the format is H.264, and that the setting is "Match source High Bitrate". Then I click the play button. I've been doing this the exact same way for almost all of my projects. Obviously by doing an mp4 colors tend to change a bit, but they never was too serious.THE PROBLEMSo everything was fine until today. I exported my mp4 file as I used to and was ready to send the material when I noticed the huge change in my colors. Hi I was wondering if anyone knew any tools that would do lip sync in a particular way for me. I want a puppet effect so the mouth just opens and shuts like an old wooden puppet, roughly in time with the speech.I've tried a few AI tools but they try to be too realistic and the video needs to be longer than they can do. I've been using AE for over a decade now and can't remember ever having this issue. After finishing a project, I will reduce, consolidate, collect, etc. in order to archive the project for storage. Currently, the latest version of AE 18.4.0 Build 41 running on MacOSX 10.15.7. I have noticed when relinking footage placed in a new folder, all footage types will be located automatically once the first project file has been located... except for MP4s. Excuse me, but what? I can't be the only one that has decided to rename a footage folder before, used "replace footage" on a single PNG for example, and seen all other footage be found and updated to the newly renamed folder. Well, normally this would grab all footage files, including MP4s. Now, let's say I change the MP4 location back to the original recorded in the file, and I click "Reload Footage"... well, that too will fail. A dialog box says the footage is not at the very location that it is at. The only way to restore the footage is to
