After Effects

Hey recently i see a tutorial video which is about digital pixelated logo reveal but i have a doubt i use a square to reveal the logo by using alpha mat and the add turbulant displace and mosiac effect , then pre compose that layer and when i use a duplicate of that layer as alpha invert map the whole logo should be hide but the pixelated box are visiable why?

I would like to animate an object in varying, smooth orientations to give the illusion of going forward along a path, reversing along a path without turning around, and going forward once again.Here is an image to better illustrate things.I know how to do step 1. Simply animate along a path with orientation along the path. The tricky part for me is step 2. I would like the object to go in reverse without turning around for a while, then going forward again at some point (step 3) just like before.Any suggestions?

After effects program fades the colors of the last two videos. What is the reason? How can I fix it? Both versions of the videos are raw. One is opened in the program and the other in the mp4 application.

HiI'm trying to create a file that pulls groups of names from an Excel file (which I converted to JSON) and randomly scatters the group of names across the screen and every 5 seconds swaps and scatters the names of the next group of names.My problem right now is that I don't understand how to do different animations for different words within a single text layer.One solution I found is to make each word be on a separate layer using a script. The problem with this is that I have a file with 1325 names and I assume 1325 layers will crash my software. If anyone knows how to do this correctly, I would be very grateful! 🙏 (The number of names in each round varies from 1 to 79)

I just launched After Effects again for the first time in a couple months just to make a very quick and basic edit. Unfortunately whenever I create a composition the window just won't update and when I resize it just goes haywire. Moving the window around to different parts of AE doesn't fix the problem, neither does restarting the program or my computer. Reinstalling to a different drive didn't change anything. What's in the composition doesn't seem to matter, I've tried it at full res, low res, even with an empty comp and the problem is exactly the same. I checked my hardware and everything is fine, nothing is being throttle, overheated, etc.

Hi, I need some help here. I'm not so sure what I'm doing wrong.Here are my steps:1) Click on Camera tracker, waited for the footage to be tracked.2) Selected 3 points on a surface, created a null and camera.3) Placed a Polaroid picture in timeline as another layer, made it 3DHowever, the Polaroid does not track.4) Removed Polaroid picture from timeline.5) Clicked on Null layer in the timeline and realised that the null was not tracking but stationary throughout the clip.I've tried pre-composing the footage and it still does not work. Most of the tracking points looks good and fixed on my footage.My footage is the opening of a door revealing a baby crib and a bunch of stuffed toys in the room. There are no tracking points on the door. Please advise!

Quand je crée une composition avec un fond (rose par exemple), dans la prévisualisation il y a juste un fond noir qui prend l'enssemble de la taille de cette fenêtre. Je ne comprend pas, je n'ai rien fait et meme en installant et réinstallant rien ne change. So I'm trying to morph a boxy circle shape into a circle. However, when copying the shape from Illustrator, this happens ↓. Even though the points are very close to the points of the other shape After Effects still reads them incorrectly.I tried rotating the circle, but it wouldn't help.Is there anything I can do other than editing morphing manually? 

Hi.So, latest version, updated and all that.CPU i5-11400F @2.60GHZ32GB RAMGPU AMD Radeon RX 6800 I opened an old file, which with my old configuration was running super smooth, it only took about 30 seconds to render a 6 sec. logo opener with some particle effects in it.Old configuration:CPU: i5-66016GB RAMOnBoard GPU Right now, CPU is 100% when rendering, drops down to 50, then spikes to 100, then drops down again, so on.. Same file on old configuration was rendering super smooth and didn't abuse the CPU like this.I updated everything, I pre-comped some complex effects (althought the same effects on old configuration were running super smooth), still having the same problem.Any ideas anyone?Thanks.

Hi. First of all, I used to have working After Effects (version 24.x.x and 23.x.x) on the computer on which I now have trouble installing it. After formatting and resetting my PC, when I try to get After Effects installed, I'm met with a message that says that my processor doesn't support AVX2. And that’s fine, because I don’t need to use the most recent version (25.0). I used to have After Effects version 23 and then 24 before and it was working fine. But now I cannot access previous versions and cannot install the 25th version of After Effects… Simply put it. Is there a way for me to access previous versions of After Effects, without installing the newest version first? Or is there a way for me to move the older version of After Effects from a different PC? (I have After Effects 25.0 on a different PC and access to previous versions there). (note: I would like to avoid just upgrading my processor just so it supports AVX2 and allows my Creative Cloud to download the new

I have a layer with multiple shapes in it.How to find the bounding box of a shape made out of bezier curves, like this one: I can see vertices and tangents info inside value property, but nothing similar to sourceRectAtTime for a layer. Computing bounding box of a concave shape is rather difficult.

I kept getting this message for my Textevo 2 script in After Effects, is anyone have the same issues? And if anyone know how to fix, that would be great because i need to use this script for my project, thanks!

Hey guys,I'm so so new to Ae. Just installed a couple of hours ago, and I'm trying to do the motion stabilization effect, but all I see as options/tabs is Preview, Properties, Align, and Effects & Presets. The "Tracker" option (the stabilization effect should be under this tab) is just not there. Can anyone please help me?  The footage I uploaded is not landscape, it's portrait. Don't know/think that makes a difference, but LMK!!

Hi, I'm trying to parent null object position to position of another layer (composition), but in expressions i got this error:  "object of type Layer found where a number, array or property is needed."There are no effects on both layers. To this null object is parent a position of puppet pin from another layer. How can I solve this, please?

  Hi community. I have some questions regarding how to correctly mask simulations. In the first example below with layer 3 (oragne colour), ball action simulation is applied, and I tried to create a mask with my solid, but nothing happens. I tried with this mask, because it gives options for feathering. In the second example I precomposed (Green layer) the simulation, and again tried to make a mask with the precomp, but masking didnt work.  Witht the 3rd option, I did a track matt, and the masking worked so I got my star shape and bubbles masked into the shape. But the edges are hard, and no feathering options are available.  So what is the best method to mask a simulation, and be able to feather the hard edges? Thank you.   

I'm looking to have a "stack" of flat shapes that are the same size, that may or may contain images/videos stacked up on top of eachother and then "explode" out horizontally or vertically and then stack up again. This would repeat over and over featuring a different card in the deck. Any thoughts on how to go about doing this?I've attached a video example of what I'm looking to do.

HelloI like very smooth motion curves! In order to achieve it, I (almost everytime) need to add an extra keyframe.So (almost everytime) I have  to repeat  these steps in my motions. Is there any (plugin/script) solution to save my life?

Is there a way to link After Effects files, so that I create myself an own library with assets?    For example, I have my main project and want to import 10 different AEfiles. The reason I want to link these files is that they always stay up to date, so that I can refine linked compositions later on and my changes stay up to date. Hello, I recently switched from mac to windows and have been having this weird issue with rendering. Anytime I try to render in 16fps, AE will render it in 30? Like I will be able to edit in AE with my frame rate set at 16, and then when it renders it converts to 30. I have no idea how to fix this and I've never had issues rendering in 16fps when I was using mac. Does anyone else have this issue or know how to fix it??

When I create a mask in text layer from "Create", "Create masks from Text", it create an extra mask with extra vertex with no sense, different from the others shapes, I don't know why.Please, can you filter useless mask created with only one or two extra vertices, thank you.In the image you can see three mask path created from text layer with "s" character, the mask in red color is the problem, it only has one vertex (or maybe two), it is shown as one red dot in the screen (marked with the blue arrow), the green and yellow has the shape that I need, the font is Astallya Script and AE versión is 25.0.1
