When using the new 3D Renderer, is it possible to convert a 3D Solid into a Plane Mesh?Alternatively, is it possible to create 3D mesh layers via Script?

Hi everyone! I hope you are doing well Today I discovered Frame.io and I have been using it in its website, but I want to use it on After effects so I can upload my projects directly from there. I made sure to download the plugin in the Creative Cloud Marketplace, but it seems to not work. When I go to Window (I does not let me click on Extensions even though I have other extensions as Mr. Horse) > It only gives me the option "Review with Frame.io" and when I open it, it says: "Unsupported account, acces this account with the new Frame.io V4 Comments panel", so I does not let me even upload a file (I have already log in) I just downloaded that from the marketplace! And I opened Premiere and it seems that it does work there.  Does anyone know how to solve this problem?. I personally think Frame.io would work perfectly for my job, so It would be very sad if I can not use it in After effects. Thank you so much in advance and have a great one!

I have an AI-generated MP4 file that I want to use in After Effects as a vector animation. However, excluding the option of manually drawing it, I’ve explored several methods, but it’s more challenging than I expected.One approach I considered was using image tracing in Illustrator for each frame of the MP4, but this results in too many shapes being generated. Additionally, if there’s a shape for something like a head, the process of linking those shapes across frames and applying animation is extremely tedious.Is there another method that could work more efficiently? Fortunately, I found a sample, but I’m still unsure about how it was made. I’ll share the After Effects sample file. Does this sample look hand-drawn? I’ll be waiting for your response.

I'm trying to use Frame.io in the panel in AE, but end up going around in circles. When I click to log in with my adobe ID, it seem like I can log in, but then I get a message saying something about "unsupported account" and there's a button to click to go to a "v4 comments panel." I click that button and nothing happens. WTF? It does seem that I'm logged in though, I can click to see my account info and can start to create a new project, but when I try to confirm the new project, the dialog box just doesn't close and no project is created. Am I doing something wrong, or is this frame.io panel just broken?

The last save file on after effects is not getting saved some times and also it was not saved in autosave. When I close and open its not showing it as saved.

I have a project in Frame.io but when trying to access it in AE, it just shows nothing nad it’s saying “Unsupported account”It says “Go to Window...” but there’s no Frame.io under Window menu...Any ideas?

I’m trying to use the new feature that’s supposed to allow me to manipulate the gradient baked into an Illustrator file. However, when I import and convert vector to shape, I just get a grey fill instead of any gradient options. I’m not the most advanced Illustrator user, so I suspect there’s something within that file that’s causing trouble. I’ve attached.Any help is appreciated - thanks!

When opening after effects, it will get to the splash screen scanning fonts and then crash. It crashes on a different font every time. I am working on a mac studio - M2 Max, 32GB.splash screen before crashingcrash notice 

Keyframe icons aren’t displaying properly in the timeline. A linear keyframe icon will randomly appear as a hold keyframe icon or an ease in keyframe icon etc. When I click on it, it reverts back to what it actually is. If I click away, it switches back to the wrong icon. AE 26.0.0. OS X Tahoe 26.2. 

In AE I want to create a mogrt (with a textbox) that have also an in and out sound fx.I use responsive intro and outro for this. I make sure in “unprotected area” not to have keyframes or audio. The problem is  when I import the mogrt in PP , it can’t be stretchedThanks for any helpChris

My AE cameras have a definite cut off point, go any closer and they will not focus on anything. I have done some tests using different camera settings and it seems that the cut of point is exactly 10% of the zoom value:If the zoom is 5333.3 pixels, it will not focus less than 533 pixels away.If the zoom is 1500 pixels, it will not focus less than 150 pixels away.Here is a video of the issueA work around to this is to scale up the entire scene and the camera:- Create a 3D Null,- attach all 3D layers and your camera to that null,- scale up the null (as much as you need maybe 400%)- unlink the layers and camera Unfortunately this doesn't seem to work for cameras that are linked to nulls as part of a camera rig. As I use lots of camera rigs, I’d really appreciate if anyone can provide a solution to this.Thanks,Laurie 

Hello all, thanks for taking the time to read my question. I am using AE 26.2 with my composition rendered set to Advanced 3D.I have imported an obj file but can not assign a jpg material to it. Or any image file for that matter.Under the objects material options both “default” and “Material 2” only have “Default” as an option in the dropdown.Same with using either the GLB or GLTF format of the 3d asset.Any help with I might be doing wrong would be much appreciated.No texture options available other than default 

Once I finish tracking, I apply the data. The key frames show up in the clip but does not effect the clip in any way. This happens with Mocha AE as well.It is a 4K clip in a 1080p timeline / Shot on a FX3It worked fine up until a month or so ago, any thoughts on what it could be. Thanks Edit: It applied it to the top clip, but the clip I want to apply it to is greyed out. How can I fix, I don’t want to apply it to a null

hallo liebes Adobe Team, ich nutze seit Jahren das kostenlose und tolle Plugin von Video Copilot namens FX Console.Ab der Version 26 und auch in der letzten Beta, lässt es sich nicht mehr richtig nutzen. In den Einstellungen funktioniert der shortcut “option+Space” nicht mehr. Was aber viel schlimmer ist: wenn ich den  Efffect “Füllen” in die Favoriten ablege, stürzt After Effects ab. Was mir auffällt, das die deutschen Sonderzeichen nicht ht erkannt werden, jedoch funktionieren die Verknüpfungen zu anderen Effekten mit Sonderzeichen.Ich hoffe das Problem wird gelöst denn es ist ein unverzichtbares Werkzeug für mich und viele Andere User geworden.In derVersion 25.64 funktioniert das selbe Plugin Fehlerlos.https://www.videocopilot.net/blog/2018/05/fx-console-updated-to-v1-0-3/ 

There have been consistency issues for sometime now with Adobe and Decklink drivers, specifically at 2160p60. To get them working, the framerate will have to changed down to 24 and back again before they display correctly.Also toggling between After eEffects and Premiere does not work, and the first app opened keeps priority. After Effects BMD Mercury only works if Premiere is not open when you open After Effects.It is good to see progress on HDR monitoring in AE, though it would be good if you could auto scale the comp size into suitable Decklink size for display, rather than the frankly ridiculous current system of manually picking Scale up, Down or OFF. It is important when footage and comp sizes are often very differentAdobe say this is in the hands of Blackmagic. I just wanted to see if it was being looked into, and suggest a scheduled contact between the two companies, specifically on point releases of software. It feels like this has slipped down the priority list a lot, though

I want to export my project and it says an error of the memory. All my disk aren’t full 

I see that in ‘Fixed issues in After Effects’, in the ‘Fixed issues in the November 2025 release (version 25.6)’ section, it says: User Interface > Dialogs now open at their last saved position by default, with the Preferences dialog always opening centered.I am using v25.6.4, and none of my panels remember their saved positions, ever. I move them, open them again, and they are in the center of the frame again. I restart SE, same results..I’m guessing this is not a common problem, as I see no other posts about it.Why would this be happening?Using Windows 11 64 bitThanks

There are so many obstacles to reporting bugs!I found (another) after effects bug. How do I report it?I opened the help menu - unlike something like Blender there is no “Report A Bug” option.  I went to help->Provide Feedback - it goes to the forum, clicked Bug Reports, but there’s no obvious way to submit a bug report I asked the little chatbot, it told me to click a menu option that doesn’t exist and then glitched out   I used the AI search tool and it gave me one broken link and one wrong link   I followed the link “how to report a problem”, it’s outdated and tells you to click on a nonexistent button. finally I figured out you have to click CREATE A POST guess what it doesn’t create a post, first it does a search for the topic you have to scroll all the way to the bottom of the irrelevant search results, and then guess what, you have to click AN INVISIBLE BUTTON. Clicking the words None of these match your issue (not a button!) makes the button visible FINALLY i can start typ

Hi, since I updated this morning, I can’t do any kind of customised blurring - it just blurs the whole thing. There is no elipse, rectangle of bezier option with Gaussian blur in the effects panel any more. I've tried to attach a photo but I don’t know if it’s worked. To reproduce, drag Gaussian blur onto a clip and go to that section in the efects panel. No masking options appear there, just a box to click with ‘surprise me’ written on it. If you click that it just all gets blurrier, but you still can’t mask anything. I’ve a 3D text file that I’m trying to change the color of its text using Fill Color. I can change the text font easily, but not the color. I’ve asked ChatGPT to give me a solution and it’s recommended a couple of things like switching to Cinema 4D renderer, clicking the small cube icon text to TEXT 1, adding extrusions, but so far they didn’t work to change color. 

I’ve used the . key (on the numeric keypad) to preview audio when adding markers since 2007. In AE 26.0 (build 67) this function now no longer works. When I hit the audio preview key, the start time of out by approximately 1 second (which makes it unusable). I regularly use the period “.” keyboard shortcut on the number pad just to play the audio in AE timeline, the last update has made the play head lag behind the actual audio time which makes it impossible to lay down markers whilst listening to the audio.AE 26 Build 67MacOS 15.7.4Mac Studio M1 Ultra
