After Effects

I have created an animated gradient in After Effects. I now want to mask that gradient with a vector logo. The only way I can think of doing it is rendering the gradient and then masking the video. Surely there's an easier way?

I want to know exactly what the software being used for this English lesson explanation.I've already asked ChatGPT and it told me Adobe After Effects. But if so then how can I use it to do such lesson? 

I finished a project but once I start to render, an error always pop up at the exact frame stating:"After Effects error: Invalid image buffer size (40003x40002)"(37 :: 102)I have tried purging every 5 frames, yet it still doesn't work.I am using a mac with 2 gigabyte ram.Hopefully someone can help me with this, really need to render because I need to submit it soon.Thanks.

Hi. I turned on Auto-Orient to make a bud rotate along the branch, but for some reason it twitches at the beginning.More details:This branch is a trimmed version of the bigger "main branch" — I used trim paths to do it.Then I adjusted the original path from the big branch so that it'd fit this smaller branch.The original path works perfectly fine. But this adjusted path makes the bud twitch for some reason. I'm not sure if that's the reason, or maybe something else? I also tried to adjust Rotation parameter — but to no avail, it still twitches.

Hello,After Effects stops working on certain files, as you can see in the attached video. There is no progress in the preview section, even though I move forward in the timeline. Additionally, the save screen that appears when I close the file stays on top of all windows, and it doesn’t go to the background even when I open other applications or finders.To troubleshoot, I unchecked the "Enable Hardware Accelerated Decoding" option in the Import section, but the issue persists. There are multiple .mov files in the project I am working on. I have also completely uninstalled and reinstalled After Effects three or four times, removing all plugins.I would greatly appreciate your help in resolving this issue.

Hello- I am wondering if there is a way to create an overlay for video in which there is a subtly moving freeform gradient overtop. I am needing to create a video, where there is a highlight reel video underneath and overtop there is a subtly moving freeform gradient (like illustrator with points), almost creating a border on top and bottom,  and then there will be animated type overtop. I am wondering if there is a way to do this. I have watched tutorials on creating animated gradients but mainly find they are used as backgrounds where I need one with transparency so it can be an overlay? Similar to this, but the gradient (pink) would subtly animate and with text animation overtop.

Once again, problems with MXF files and version 24.In versions 24.4 and 24.5, I get glitches during the preview that remain when rendering the compositions in some random frames. If I clear the cache, they disappear, but when I preview again, they appear in different frames.I transferred the project to another computer within the company, with a completely different configuration. Both computers are running Windows 11 but have different processors and graphics cards, and the same thing happens, so I rule out that it’s my computer. On the second computer, there are also hardly any third-party plugins installed that could cause any incompatibility.I have tried all the 24 versions, and it happens with all of them. Reinstalling version 23, everything works perfectly, no problems at all.It’s a nightmare to be in this situation, having to start projects from scratch that were already very advanced when downgrading the version. When working on a Windows 11 Enterprise platform on a Dell Precision 7680 13th Gen core i9-13950HX, 2200 Mhz, 24 core, 64 GB RAM with an RTX 5000 Ada, After Effects hangs up when importing a layered .ai file as a comp in versions 24.6 and above. In version 24.5 it works, and on a Mac Book Pro (m1 chip 2019) the latest version (25.1) it works as well.My process:1. Open a new project in AE2. Choose File--Import--file3. Select my layered .ai Illustrator file (latest version) and for when Import kind I select composition and keep defaut Document size.4. AE continues to show the spinning wheel and won't open the file on versions later than 24.6. Normally, AE is able to import a layered .ai file as a comp.I have no 3rd party plug-ins, and do not install with Cinema 4D capabilities since I do not sue the program.

Mac mini m4 not utilise cpu/GPU in after effects/premere pro its showing only 10% of cpu during the software usage which slows down my overall experience.

I have always used After Effects for simple projects, but now, for a more complex project, I would like to start using some expressions to simplify the work. Specifically, I would like to understand which expression to use to instruct multiple objects to move along a path. This way, if the path is modified, the path of the objects changes accordingly. Why is After Effects doing this? I've got the proportions sorted in the way I want them on the image on the right and it all looks fine until I export the animation: However, this is the result once it's exported:  The image has gone really thin and weirdly proportioned.  

I'm using the code below to create a ticker tape that runs along the bottom of the screen in an After Effects template. This template is for a client who is a novice in After Effects and only needs to update the text—without dealing with layer duplications, keyframes, or other complexities.I want the text to scroll continuously, with only two spaces before it repeats, regardless of its length (as long as it fits in the composition). The current code works well (see the YouTube link below for an example), but the motion isn't smooth because the speed is based on characters per second, which creates a jittery effect.I need a modified version of the code where the speed is determined by pixels per second instead of characters per second, ensuring smooth movement. Hi All, I have checked the forum and found a few posts on there but none have solved the problem so I am trying again! (my specs are at the end of the message) I'm contsatly getting the "Out of Memory 23::40" message. It has become impossible for me to get any work done.  I'm contstantly purging the Media cache, I have designated 24 GB of RAM for after effects and 4 Gb for the rest of the applications. I think this "lack" of memory is literally affecting everything I do, including my exports via media enocder. I have spend the entire day trying to export a project but constatly met with this  issues, I have given up and really don't know where else to look. Can anyone please tell me  what this issue could be? Is it the project? My settings??My computer?? Hi guys,I use SDK to develop a plugin for Chinese users, for cpp files, I could use Chinese Character as parameter names successfully, but I want to show Chinese Name in Plugin menu which users can find their wanted plugin easily, I try to write a Chinese name in .r resource file which include Plugin infos, but I can not convert it to rcc correctly, I tried to add utf-8 symbol in visual studio compiling commands which use cl.exe to compile .r file, still not succeed, need Help 

For about three weeks now, I've been having significant issues with After Effects. It's been incredibly unstable on my PC lately; it's constantly crashing and even causing the system to reboot completely. I don't know what the issue is, as my computer has high specs:Intel i9RTX 4090162 GB RAM2TB SSD To add context, my PC is custom-built and completely new. Every time I try previewing any project, it crashes out of nowhere or restarts my PC. I sometimes get a variety of error messages, each one different. I have already uninstalled all my external plugins and scripts. I've also uninstalled and reinstalled After Effects several times, even trying different versions, but I keep getting the same results. At one point, I thought it was my new PC, so I called the manufacturer. We ran several benchmarks and scans, and they confirmed that my PC is working perfectly fine. New to After Effects and trying to use the Camera to create some 3 dimensional angles for text in a video.The video show is basically a zoom in shot and I want to create the illusion that the text is there in the scene as a static object but when the camera zooms the text is zoomed in on as well. Currently it just looks like the text is floating around and is not anchored to a foundation. I've tried making keframes on the camera in zoom, I've also tried creating keyframes scaling the text up (with anchor point positioned at bottom right).
