After Effects

Issue - When I animate the "amount" property for turbulent displace, when the effect is applied to a layer, the layer snaps to a transformed (literally position and scale) state exactly when the interpolation finishes. Steps to reproduce -  Apply Turbulent displace to a layer in a comp that is readied to be exported as a MOGRT from essential graphics. Animate the "amount". This happened for any values I tried, but lately I've been trying from 50 to 0 over about 1 second. Easing didn't seem to change anything. Export the comp as a MOGRT Place the MOGRT in a timeline in Premeire Pro v25. The CTI won't reproduce the error, but when you scrub, play in the timeline, render the clip, or export media, the glitch will occur. Expected result - A nice, wavy effect.Actual result - The layer will fly off into an unpredictable transform change. It will sometimes shift over, and sometimes disappear (I assume just out of view).Adobe Aft

[Note: I know they just announced that 25.2 is available for download, but Creative Cloud just gave me 25.3, so I'm not really sure what's going on (and maybe I'm not the only one)] Version: 25.3.0 (Build 71)Platform: Windows 11 Steps to reproduce: Hold mouse over composition window, hold down Alt and turn scroll wheelExpected result: Composition window zooms centred on mouse cursor locationActual result: Composition window zooms centred on centre of window For the 3-4 years I've been using AE, I've been holding down Alt and scrolling my mouse wheel in order to zoom toward whatever my mouse cursor is hovering over, both in the Composition window and in the Timeline. But after I updated to 25.3 yesterday, in the Composition window, Alt+Wheel now zooms in and out on the centre of the window and the Wheel without a keyboard modifier zooms in and out at the cursor point (which I only discovered by experimentation). But the Timeline zoom control hasn't changed: it still u

In many cases, the debugger comes up with a line number that does not exist. (e.g. an error on line 71, while the expression consists of 69 lines). It's hard to say when exactly this problem shows up, but it occurs a lot, so I guess more users have experienced this behaviour.

Due to some technical problem i had to delete the creative cloud and all adobe apps like after effects and photoshop. And when i reinstall them, i found that extenion tab is greyed out, how to fix that Please help !!!

Hi, I'm using AE on a PC. When I use Roto Brush 3.0 and mask a person with say a white background the mask only lasts for 2 frames before selecting the whole screen. When I change the selection to Roto Brush 2.0, it renders properly. I've tried multiple videos. I've tried reinstalling. But I still get this issue which means I can't use roto brush 3.0.  Are there any suggestions to fix this? Thanks,  Dom

Hey team, This has been bugging me for a long time - when you right click in premiere > make after effects composition, the playhead inside of that comp will eventually stop moving. It might not be on the first playback, or the third, but after swapping back to premiere and back to AE a few times, eventually the playhead just ceases to exist. The only way to fix it is to shut down After Effects and reopen the project again, but then as soon as you link another comp from premiere to AE, it happens again and then you need to shut down and restart again. Quite annoying, hopefully this gives you enough information to reproduce it! AE version 25.5Windows 11 OS - Learn How to Edit Stuff

Hello,I am running 25.4. This problem started somtime between now and May of this year, because this problem was not present prior to that time. On different EXR sequences that were rendered out using VRay, I am seeing some frames in the sequence are not being fully rendered, which is causing major problems in creating video animations from these sequences. I have tried the sequences in a different project with no effects and get the same result. The EXR sequences are 1920x1080. In one sequence I have narrowed down the problem to one particular frame. When I import this EXR file into AE, it imports like always but the full frame of the image is not rendered. This report form is lame because it does not allow uploading of zip files nor EXR files, and since I work for a company I can't be posting links to files on external file sharing sites. Else I would upload the EXR files. So I made a screen video of the issue. There are 2 frames. both of which should show the same image just at a sli

Hello, i tried to switch my 3d renderer from classic to advanced 3d to extrude shapes, but it immidiately crashes every time i'm trying to do it. Classic 3d render works fine though. To fix this problem i tried: clear all types of cache 1 by 1; update my NVIDIA drivers; deleted and reinstalled my NVIDIA drivers, disabled CUDA in AE, deleted and reinstalled AE multiple times with different versions from 25.1 to 25.3 and none of this helped. However earlier i could use Advanced 3d renderer in my projects and import 3d objects into them.My PC specs - xeon e5 2680v4 and GeForce GTX 1650 Super. Also I do not use any plug-ins. What can i do else?

Saber does not work in after effects 25.2.2. I needed Saber for the project. I downloaded it from the official source and installed it. For the test, I created a simple object for the test. I drag the saber onto the object, select Layer Masks and nothing. Everything worked before. Half a year ago I made a project using saber, but on a different version of AF. Maybe someone has encountered this?

Adobe continues to suck.Version 25.2.0 build 4. Macbook air Sonoma 14.7 1. How to get rid of this thumbnail preview space (in pic 1, the space between the word "project" and the search bar)? There is no way I can find... I don't need it and would rather just have the files closer to compress the project window. Is there no way to turn off thumbnail previews?2. Why, on this beautiful green earth, isn't the snapping buttons and the workspace pulldown on the same line as as all the other buttons? Look at all that empty space taking up precious screen estate! I am honestly flabberghasted that the leading design software company puts out products with such poor design. If I am missing something someone tell me.

When users change the value of a slider parameter declared by a plugin with thePF_ParamFlag_SUPERVISE flag, AE fails to notify the plugin via PF_Cmd_USER_CHANGED_PARAM. Steps to reproduce:- Take an existing plug-in based on the AE SDK, and make one of its slider parameters observable by setting its PF_ParamFlag_SUPERVISE flag.- Set a breakpoint / print something to the console / beep when handling the PF_Cmd_USER_CHANGED_PARAM command.- Apply the plugin inside any recent version of AE.- Change the slider’s value and notice that PF_Cmd_USER_CHANGED_PARAM is never invoked. Expected:Plug-ins should receive a PF_Cmd_USER_CHANGED_PARAM command whenever the value assigned to a slider parameter is changed. Notes:Sliders can trigger a large number of changes very quickly, and it would be perfectly fine if AE were to coalesce multiple changes into one. BUT it is vital that AE issue at least one PF_Cmd_USER_CHANGED_PARAM command, when the user is done

When user selecting 3D object and pressing F button, 3d view centering to selected object. But this feature work only when you're using tools for camera movement (Orbit, Pan, Dolly).Since 2026 its possible to use Alt+Mouse to move camera view, even when using  any other tools like Selection tool, Pan, Rotation, Text etc. But in this case F-cenetring doesn't work.

Help! About 3 weeks ago, this problem has cropped up and rendered AE unuseable to me on my laptop: When I open a project (or start a new one), everything works fine for a few minutes until suddenly the composion panel just freezes.  After Effects continues to run, I can even close the panel and reopen it and it reopens in its frozen state. I can continue to edit on the timeline, save my work etc, but when I close After Effects it will stop responding and crash out. I have tried: Resetting cachedeleting preferencesswitching to CPU renderingswitching off multiframe renderingupdating my graphics driversreinstalling After Effects completely No avail, it just freezes now, almost every time, after a couple of minutes regardless of what I am doing in it. Specs:Ryzen 9955hxGeforce 5070ti64gb DDR5 RAM After Effects current version is 25.2 - this updated today Sept 2025Geforce Studio Driver 581.29 - this was updated The laptop is basically 2 mont

Hello! Would love some advice / insight on ACEs within AE. I work with CG and VFX all done in ACES CG, that works fine, looks good, blah blah blah. But the second I try to bring in or create graphics on top, I start to get aliasing once I put the input color space to be sRBG (so I can get the right brand colors and pure whites). As of now I've been working around that by doing any comp / CG work in an ACES project, and then making an alt project that's rec709 or srgb to add graphics on top with prerenders. Obviously, this adds an extra step so I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong here. The weird thing is if you view the Color Space transformed graphics over an empty background, the type looks clean (see the first screenshot). Is this something anyones dealing with or Adobe is aware of?I've even tried using the alpha of the non-color space transformed graphic as a matte and that still looks chunky. This happens all the time and curious if anyone has a workaround.&nbsp

Every time I open up After Effects, it's asking me to connect to the internet so that my license can be actiavated. I am always connected to Wi-Fi and my other Adobe softwares don't have this issue. Currently I only have 4 days remaining...  Version:  25.5OS: Windows 11GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4060

Product: Adobe After EffectsVersion: 25.5Platform: Windows 11 Issue Summary:Manually suspending the core Windows processes TextInputHost.exe or ShellExperienceHost.exe using Process Explorer immediately causes After Effects to enter a “Not Responding” state and freeze.Once the suspended process is resumed, After Effects instantly becomes responsive again and functions normally. Steps to Reproduce:Launch After Effects with any project open.Open Process Explorer and locate TextInputHost.exe and ShellExperienceHost.exe.Suspend one or both of these processes.Attempt to interact with After Effects. Expected Result:After Effects should ideally handle the temporary unavailability of these background services gracefully, without freezing. Actual ResultAfter Effects immediately freezes and becomes unresponsive until the suspended process is resumed. NotesThe goal is to understand whether After Effects has a specific dependency on TextInputHost.exe or ShellExperienceHost

Hey AE team!I've encountered a weird rendering issue with the advanced render engine. When using the Effra CC VF typeface, certain glyphs appear like this:  I'm using version 25.0.1 on MacOS Sonoma 14.6.1

Hello everyone! I’m experiencing a bug in After Effects: when I open Extension 1, then dock it, and afterwards open Extension 2, there’s a problem — when I close Extension 1, Extension 2 also closes for some reason.Sometimes the UI (user interface) of Extension 2 even disappears.Does anyone know why this happens?

I’ve experienced this issue multiple times, even when I’m not doing anything heavy — just working with 2-3 image layers. After Effects often freezes (especially when I press Alt+Tab to switch between windows), and then crashes. My monitor goes black for a few seconds and comes back on with the error message:"After Effects crash: can't continue. Encountered a GPU or graphics driver issue."This is incredibly frustrating. It doesn’t just happen occasionally — it happens frequently. And from the number of posts about this issue, it seems like it’s been going on for a long time. But so far, there’s been no real action from Adobe. The usual suggestion is to switch to “Mercury Software Only”, but honestly, that doesn’t solve anything. Please, this is exhausting to deal with — is there any real fix or update on this?

Hello there, I am new here to ask some questions. Does anyone here have experience importing files from AI with a duplicated file inside? I would appreciate this being fixed.

After Effects 25.4 keeps re-rendering the timeline AFTER I've done a Ram Preview. For example, in the image below I rendered part of my timeline then set the Work Area to only that section. When I hit the space bar to watch it, it re-renders! It won't just play it. wtf is going on? After Effects has never worked like this. This has been happening in every project for months. It's like I have to have my Work Area set before starting a render because if I stop the Ram Preview before it reaches the end of the Work Area I have to re-render the whole thing. Sometimes, if I quit and restart After Effects it'll work like normal again, simply playing the parts I've already rendered. What's going on? Is this a bug? I can't imagine this is intentional. Is this happening to anyone else?  Windows 11After Effects 25.4120GB RamRendering using CUDA Acceleration

After activating a font at Adobe Fonts Online wonderful Font Collection, there pops up a Message from Windows, that the fonts are added. But in AE they are not visible in the Font Menue. After Restarting AE, they are shown there. This is not very nice, while trying lots of fonts for finding the right one for a Project...It would be Absolutely fantastic, if this could be fixed!!! Version 25.1.0 (Build 68)Windows 11
