After Effects

Hi,I am animating stars, very simple animation. so instead of  drawing a lots of stars individually, creating lots of layers, I thought why not draw them all under one layer by duplicating the shape under content, and then am gonna apply necessary expressions on that perticular layer, so that all of them (duplicated shapes)  have same effects and expression. but. I notice I cant open properties like scale or opacity isung hotkeys, like I can with multiple layers. so is there any way I can select them all and press 't' to open their opacity all together, or 'S' to scale them individually. Thank you.   

Hello Everyone, I am using AE CC and below is my concern1) pre comp : I have created a pre comp with 2 secs of duration.2) Main Comp: When I copy & paste the precomp into the main comp. I see the time shift (in 2 secs the content should have been completed totla of 4 conversation).  there is delay 30sec to get the 2nd conversation it self. How do i solve it? 

Hi !So I just added a cryptomatte effect to an EXR Image sequence, then my AE Crashed. Business as usual, but when I opened it back, it said the Crytpomatte effect was missing, just as on the screen.I can't add it anymore, and it's obvioulsy not working, even on my already applied effects.In the effect manager it's not showing. I closed AE, uninstalled, reinstalled, unistalled Pro EXR 2, installed again. It changes nothing it's missing.Did it happen to anybody before ?

Version 24.4.1 I have a 3D object I exported from Fusion 360.  I'd like to have it above a background, and rotate on its X axis 360.  However, I cannot see the object, cannot figure out why I can't see it, and also can't figure out how to rotate the image.  I also need the face image to be in the center of the disc on both sides. I have spent a good amount of time over 3 days working with Adobe to resolve an installation issue with After Effects. I've rebuilt my computer and invested in extra hardware in order to have the specs prior to the first attempt of installing the package. Adobe chat technicians did do some good investigations and reconfiguring, uninstalling and reinstalling of the creative suite twice. with no success. I had the issue checked out even by Apple to see if my hardware was the problem. Three times. My complaint is that after time consuming and lengthy adobe chat support reached the same non conclusive issues they would simply disconnect without explanation. Gone. Silent. Think bleek desert winds howling through dead trees. Problem not resolved. So why am I paying for the software? I'm wondering if Adobe staff will read this and be able to escalate this to a more skilled and professional technician who can help? Or will they simply see this as.....well, just one in a million custo

Hi, I need to start animation from a certain point, from the very bottom of the leaf. for that I need to set that vertex as the start point. No way I can do that. I drew everythng in Illustrator converted all of them in shape layer in AE. but the trim layer starting from the middle. set vertex is also greyed out. please help me.

I updated After Effects to utilize the Mocha AE plugin. When I go to use it it takes me to the Mocha window where a blank screen comes up with the message "Uknown Error". I cannot find a way to proceed based on other posts in this community. 

I have checked all the option for the audio to play when preview.1) Audio "ON" in Comp2) Audio "ON" in preview3)Audio selection in preference --> Audio hardware (no device class section)I do not have option as device class (below image is from the youtube for reference)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgaRxWi3Zn4 What could be the problem for not have the devie class section? How can I correct it? 

When I open any project that I have done so far and I click play, the project starts rendering, and the green bar starts to progress. However, randomly the red line will just stop while playing the rendered frames, and cpu and gpu usage of after effects will go to 0%, I've also noticed that while rendering my cpu or gpu usage is around 10% or a max of 15%. Another problem I've found is that while after effects is idle and I go to another screen, it starts to render frames as usual and cpu or gpu usage of AE spikes up, but when I go to play those rendered frames that says they are rendered since they are under the green bar, the green bar dissapears and AE starts rendering again and pauses randomly as before.  

I've been trying to create a script with ChatGPT and it's very buggy. What I've tried to do is render a video in black and white, at 1/4 resolution, cropped so that it's just the center, and only rendering 1 frame every 300 frames, in order for me to get a rapid render so I can roughly know which part of the video is the darkest. Not only have I not been able to get that script to work the way I want it to, but I have no clue how to get it to scan the video for the lightest and darkest frame after render. Any ideas?

I am a new person to After effects and while I was trying to add S_BlurMoCurves that appeared. What should I do? reinstall? 

 I created a MOGRT in AFter Effects for a Teams project but it's not letting me export this as a MOGRT. Any ideas as to how to fix this? See screen shot below:Export Motion Graphic Template is greyed out in After Effect 

Hello,I am facing a lag in Aftereffects and I have tried to solve the matter by trying different solutions that I could find online but unfortunately the lag is still happening. If I hide mose of the layers that I am not working with then the lag reduces but the problem still persist. Any help would be appreciated.1. Updated the latest version of the GPU driver.2. Empty the disk case / clean media database, and cash 3. Memory reserved for AE 50 Gb4. Deselected Hardware Accelerate Composition Layer.I have attached screenshots of the video in sequrence to show the lag that is happening as i drag the arrow.My Specs:CPU: i7-12700GPU: AMD RX 580 8GB VramRAM: 64GBSSD: 512 GB (more than 300 GB of free space)

Pretty straightforward. We're doing VFX on a film. Some of our artists are in AE. We've sequenced all shots (Slog3) to 10bit DPX. Bring the DPX into AE. Change nothing. Render to QT4444, and there is a very slight pink/magenta tint in the footage. Not extreme, but enough to notice when a lut is applied.This bug has plagued us for years across many shows and we've gone through hoops to work around it, but I want to get to the bottom of this.The other crazy thing is that while the pink shift happens on my co-workers computer, it doesn't happen on mine, and no matter what I try I can't reproduce the bug. We have the exact same system Has anyone else experienced this?

When I press the spacebar it selects the hand tool briefly instead of playing back my preview. When changing audio settings it sometimes works again but even when it plays back my comp it is much slower and more buggy then usual. 

Is there a way to export an animation in adobe after effects as a live photo?

  I was currently working on a project that my boss sent me and noticed that my AE stock effect Fill was missing.  Not sure why it was missing in the first place.  However, installing an older version of AE (23.3) and the issue was resolved. I will stay in 23.3 until this issue has been fixed.

Hi I am animating a bar in AE. but the bar which is behind can be seen as an outline which I dnt want. I need the edges to be as crisp as possible. is there any way I can make it gone with the wind? Thnak you. 

Hey there, so i created a shape layer out of text layer.i animate some properties for each letter: Offset path 1 : amount and Transform : scale and positionnow i want to link the original text layer to apply changes (writing something else) to the shape layer While keeping the animation values.so if my original text layer was 'world' and i create a shape layer out of it, and then change the text layer to 'Peace' it will change the shape layer. is it even possible?  Thanks in advance

Hi, 1 week ago i switched from a windows to a mac laptop, but while trying to install all the adobe programs, i found an issue.  When i try to open aftereffects. it keeps giving the error:After Effects can't continue: The Common Extensibility Platform (CEP) suite couldn't be loaded. You may need to reinstall. After clicking OK, i get another error:After effects can't continue: An unexpected error has occured and After Effects will now shut down. Please check you have the appropriate permission to launch AE as wel as read/write acces to the AE preference folder. If any other error messages were displayed prior to this, please review, and resolve if possible. My laptop is an Macbook Air M2 2022. with 16GB Memory, with the latest macOS, being Sonoma 14.5 at this time. All the folder can read&write, so i don't think there's an issue there. Can anybody help me with this?

I am running into an issue with the expression slider control in AE (screenshots attached). When I export these files as a MOGRT they don't show the shape that the epression error is on. I am assuming once I fix the expression error the MOGRT should work perfectly fine in Premiere.  What am I doing wrong here? Thanks in advance!
