After Effects

I am trying to run a kml script in After effects and constantly getting this error: Unable to execute script at line 2. Expected: ;How can I solve this?

Hi community. Is it possible when duplicating layers, to have the layer one on top, then the rest will stack in numeric order? When Im duplicating this shape, Im making a lot of layers, number one goes down the bottom, then number 2 on top of it. Then I need to restack them from one going on the top, then manually stacking each numbers accordingly. is there an option for the layers to descend numerically? Im doing the sequence layers method, and my animation is in reverse due to the layer numbers not descending, thats why Im asking for this information.Thank you.     

Hi. I've been trying to open after effects for ages now and I cannot seem to find a solution. I have looked up on google how to solve it, which includes going into the MediaCore file. However, when I managed to find where the folder is and clicked on it, there was nothing but a "dummy.txt" file that says "#Dummy file installed in the MediaCore folder." And I am very confused...I have also tried to uninstall the whole creative cloud , including all the adobesoftwares that I use by using Adobe's cleaner app, which also ended up not working as well.I also tried to find the duplicate plugins that the software listed out for me, but when I went to go look for the files, I could not find any duplicates like the list says except for the original plugins. Does that mean I have to just delete the original files that are listed on there even if I don't see any duplicates?                  I'm on MacOS Ventu

The Startup Repair Options are an addition to After Effects version 23.4 and later.   What does Safe Mode do?   Safe mode will launch After Effects with default Preferences. This allows you to isolate problems with corrupt Preferences. Noise Default effect is missing in the latest After Effects update on my computer. All the project I created with older AE versions report the effect as missing. Checked in the Effects&Presets panel and the effect doesn't appear (printscreen attached). Anyone else noticing the same issue? 

Roto Brush is acting really weird with this specific clip. After I make the first selection, I can't select or deselect anything unless I switch back and forth between versions. For example, I can make a selection with version 2.0, and I can only change the selection if I switch to version 3.0, then switch back to version 2.0. Switching between any of the versions yields the same results. The clip is pre-composed because that's how it was when I found this. I tested it without pre-comp and it does the same thing. This is a linked composition with Premiere. I tried making a new, unlinked, composition and it ended up working just fine then. So, it could be an issue with dynamic link but I don't know. Hi, I'm trying to achieve this text effect (see attachment) - I'm guessing it would involve the use of alpha mattes and/or masks? But not too sure where to start, so I'd be grateful if someone could provide some direction. Thanks 

I'm fine with creating a parallax effect by setting layers to 3D and modifying the z-position etc... but what if all those layers are inside a pre-comp? I've set all the layers to 3D etc... and also set the precomp itself to 3D, but then when I move the camera, the precomp looks 'flattened' and the parallax effect is lost. There is quite a lot going on in the animation Im creating so it would be good to split certain bits into precomps... but does a parallax not work like this?

when i try and rotobrush any clip this shows up and I cannot get around it by matching fram rate, or unistalling my the software or anything

(excuse the machine translation)I have a 1280*1024 sized composition with a 3D layer called plane 1a and acamera layer (2 node camera, focal length 50mm).I have not messed with anything in the transform of plane 1. Only the camera is animated.Let us call this composition compA.There is a composition called compB, which has a 3D layer called plane 1b (same as 1a) of the same size, but without a camera layer. (For some reason, the camera layer is not available.)In this case, I want to write an expression in the transform of plane 1b that refers to the information of compA, so that the appearance of the planes of compA and compB will be the same, but I am at a loss as to how to do this. Thanks for reading. I've loaded a template I downloaded and when I open it, I get the following message asking me to migrate the settings as the template was created on an older version of AE, which is fine, but I can't find the button! 😞  I found another thread similar to my issue, but the link marked as "correct answer" on the thread no longer works sadly, so I'm unable to follow it, but after reading the comments I have clicked everything in the timeline and opened every > under "effect controls" yet can see no "migrate settings" button on anyting; and can't see "particular" anywhere at all! (I can see "particle animation switch" and "particle random speed"). but again, no "migrate settings" button.)  For the record I do have Trapcode Particular installed. I got it last night to fix an issue with the video length, (it's a 10 second temlpate that was cutting to black at 5 seconds when the particles kicked in). I am fondly hoping that

Hello, sorry if this question has already been asked before, but I couldn’t find a topic that matched my issue.Here’s my situation: I animated using a 2D animation software (TVPaint) and exported many layers in 1920x1080, as well as still images imported from Photoshop. I then assembled everything in After Effects, adding lots of animation keys (with rotations on all three axes, precompositions, etc.).However, I now need to upscale everything to 4K. This means I have to re-import my TVPaint animation frames at twice their size, which alters all the animation keys in After Effects. Using CTRL+ALT+F to adapt to the new format doesn’t work because I sometimes intentionally scaled elements beyond the frame.Do you have any idea how I could scale my entire file to double its size, while also doubling all the animation keys across all layers?Thank you, I hope I’ve explained it clearly enough...

Hi community.  I have a line shape, which I have used a repeater, and one after the other just before the next shape starting from frame 0 , its opaque before becoming solid. I need for each shape to appear to be 100% solid with no transperancy. Just one full block appearing one after the other, like an EQ soundbar.     it takes 4 frames before becoming solid, seems like the transition is:0 % transparency25 % transparency75 % transparency 100 % solid.  Thank you.

Hi,I'm currently getting the same Crashes on a System that used to Run After Effects 2023 fine last year.Also updated to 2024 and reset everything but still didn't resolve the issue. The Software itself runs fine but whenever I either click Open, Import or Save and the Explorer window opens After Effects immediatly crashes. Shown crash report on screen is always:I also enabled crash report and looked through the report, the error alerts are: - Ticks = 25687 <5632> <ALOG> <5> EGG PromptUserThenDie lastmesg="<5632> <ALOG> <5> BEE Command Do Set BG Color -Ticks = 25687 <5632> <ALOG> <5> U U_Sev_PROBLEM After Effects error: Crash in progress. Calque de Texte ignoré."Ce qui est bizarre c'est qu'il y a un mois je n'avais plus ce message et je pouvais ouvrir sans souci ce fichier.Alors qu'en début d'année jusqu'à septembre je l'avais.Ce fichier a été crée sous AE .22 et je suis actuelle sous AE .24. Si je ne dis pas de bêtises (je n'ai plus la date exacte de la maj .24), le fichier c'est ouvert correctement sous 23.5.Merci d'avance pour vos lumières. 

i am trying to import glb files in after effects to use it as a 3d model but it is not accepted so when i tried to import the source file (blend+glb) i was given error 39::7 so i need to know how to import glb files in after effects

Hello,I have a strange "problem" when exporting my project that I created in After Effects.I am using the 2024 Creative Cloud. I want to have the file in webm format in the end. Small file size and transparent background.No matter what format that supports an alpha channel does not produce the desired result. - If I use QuickTime (ProRes 4444 + alpha) for the first export, there are different results depending on which codec I use. The result has a) no video (only visible through a conversion - I'll come to that in a moment), b) an interpolarity of the colors (+ background).- A direct export to Webm gives the same result as the conversion from QuickTime ( a) ) - it is not transparent and the graphics used are given white backgrounds for their own area.- An export to avi with active alpha channel has the same result as with QuickTime ( a) )  I used the following methods for the export:- Direct AfterEffects- Via Premiere- Via the Media Encoder Same result everywh
