Hello, so im currently using adobe after effects 2020 and i am making an edit, i used twixtor pro on one of my clips and then pre composed it, after i copied it and reversed it by right clicking, going on time then "Time-Reverse Layer" now inbetween the clip its flashing dark blue time to time, does anyone know how to fix this?
More and more I'm finding myself working on templates from other design groups that make use of Essential Properties. Unfortunately a lot of these templates use the EP's in ways that run counter to good versioning practices (please stop building workflows that use the Essential Graphics panel in AE for versioning, people!). In trying to restructure these projects for a better workflow, I need to trace just where properties are used as Essential Properties. Unfortunately the only way I can see to do this is to go through comps one-by-one in the EG panel and then use the "Reveal in timeline" feature. It would be great if I could right-click on a property and see a list of comps that have that property as an essential property. It might also be useful to have a way to see a table of all the EP's in the project, including their source layers and containing comps, along with the comps the EP's are attached to. If these Essential Property links were exposed in the scripting API I'd glad
Hi, I want the hand to move/wiggle only between 0/360 to 180. I dnt want it to cross 180. How will I write expression in such case using wiggle.(I had to reduce the screento gif export color option only to 12, otherwise file size is too big to upload, Adobe dsnt allow me to upload gif , thts why the gif is acting weird. am sorry :I ) Thank you.
The Turbulent Displace is one of my favorite effects. But my problem with that effect is how it behaves on shape layers in 3D comps withh null-parented cameras. I'm told I should pre-comp the shape layer that has the Turbulent Displace effect applied. But if I do that, what happens in the null-parented camera 3D comp scene is that the precomped shape layer now loses resolution and becomes quite pixelated as I dolly into the shape. The only way to avoid this is to turn on the rasterization button " * " for that layer. But this then changes the layer's shape: I'd like to be able to zoom in / dolly in on the shape layer without it losing resolution. But if I do that through the rasterization button, not only does this alter the layer's actual shape but doing so causes the Turbulent Displace effect to shake/wobble independently:https://youtu.be/0r9v6S_j1qg https://youtu.be/uVZ-r7I_E2g Does anyone know of any plugin alternative to AE's
In After Effects, the default when pasting an effect from one layer to another is to replace the existing instance of the effect with the settings of the new one. However I'm trying to paste an additional instance without replacing the existing instance of the effect. In my case, I'm trying to copy an Instance of Video Copilot's Element effect ("Element A") onto a layer that already has an instance ("Element B"). The result is to replace Element B with Element A, but I'd like to have both Element A AND Element B on the layer. Anyone know how to get around this?Thank you!
I am trying to put Flow in After Effects and I need my CEP folder but It's not there. I'm not sure how to create my own & if it'll work when trying to follow the directions to download or install Flow. Here were the directions they gave me : 1. Copy Folder ' flow-v1.4.2 ' Paste:Win : C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\CEP\extensions\Mac : /Application Support/Adobe/CEP/extensions2.Merge Key via Add Keys P.S: I am using Mac 2022. Again, the problem is I can't find my CEP folder. Please help. Thanks in advance!
Hi everyone!I'm experiencing a strange issue while working on a 2D motion in After Effects. It feels like there's an invisible 3D axis where, as objects move closer to the center of the screen, they seem to recede in depth (as you can see in the files attached). This affects the stroke of my lines, making them thinner as they approach the center of the screen and thicker as they move away. Has anyone else encountered something like this or knows if this could be due to an effect or expression that might be causing it? I'm trying to keep the stroke thickness uniform.Any help would be much appreciated!
Hello there,When I import exr file into After, and apply EXtractoR, with some exr it does not show correctly the channels, mixing another channel into another. If I read the exr with MRV2, it shows correctly.Anybody have a clue to solve this bug?
Hello. Could someone kindly point me to a tutorial on YouTube, or any other platform, where I can learn how to create this intro from the video in the link below? The intro is between 34 and 56 seconds. I have the artwork in Photoshop, all separated into layers. Therefore, I want to recreate this intro in After Effects, but I haven't found any tutorial with the same principles. If anyone could help me, I would really appreciate it.The intro I’m referring to is in this video, at the 34 to 56 second mark. Thank you.Video link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kW6PUAuAPUA&t=2s
I had been facing a very weird issues with after effects and premiere pro.my last project is made of one composition of a wide screen with just a few solid color shape in the background and some pictures of peoples and there name with mix of illustrator files and text layer. All of it precomped in a small composition with just a png picture of the stage. In the preview panel, everything play good, nothing looks weird. but when i export it, i get this glitching frames, looks like artifacts or a glitches ruining the pictures or the shapes during moving, even glitches appears on parts on the PNG that doesn't have any movement at all. Also it sometimes skips frames and jump forward in time. Similar problem has been happening with a different project, it's a dynamic link timeline imported from adobe premiere pro, with 1 minute of footages, edited on 1080p.i added some Ai logo layers and some text. also plays good inside after effects, but after rendering it, i found some glitches, with
Subject says it all--any time I open a CC program (I just use AE the most so I'm putting it here, since there doesn't appear to be an all-CC forum, but it happens with any program and/or CC desktop) for the first time after restarting my computer, I get a "The font LTC Goudy Oldstyle Pro Bold was added" notification. It only happens with this one font--any other Adobe font I use behaves normally. Why is this, and how can I make that stop? It's not harmful, just annoying and perplexing. I'm on a stout Windows 10 desktop PC with plenty of memory/RAM/GPU horsepower, running the latest CC programs (but this has been going on for a while, for the last few updates).
(recategorizing a discussion post as a bug) OverviewWe would like to be able to identify which version of After Effects was responsible for the creation of a project (.aep) file programatically in order to make informed judgements about what version of After Effects should be used to render those projects on our renderfarm. We are encouraged by the presence of the CreatorTool field in the embedded metadata that is visible by running the unix 'strings' command on the file, but have observed some disconcerting behavior in this area. Observed BehaviorWe were surprised to find that regardless of if the project file was created in After Effects 2022 (22.6) or After Effects 2023 (23.1), the value of the CreatorTool field is always 'Adobe Photoshop 23.2 (20220128.orig.527 28d5e1a) (Macintosh)'. Note that not only is the version incorrect, but the product itself is incorrect as well. If we save a copy of the project as an XML export (.aepx) the 'CreatorTool' and 'softwareAgent'
Is there a way to add a second output module for a render queue item with extendscript?
I need an older version of After Effect on OSX 10.15.7, the 2022 release. It's really frustrating that Adobe can't make older versions of the programs available, I don't understand this limitation. Does anyone have any ideas?
I want to cancel my subscription to After Effects CC but there is no option to cancel the plan.the only solution offered on the website as to contact customer support on this forum ( I couldn't access any other contact options)
Hello 🙂 I am struggling to export my After Effects video. I need it to export with a transparent background. When I go to save Alpha+RGB is grey and I am unable to choose this as an option. Does anyone know why and how I can fix this? Thank you :).
I'm trying to export a file from After Effects to Media Encoder, but nothing works. It says - Connecting to Dynamic link server
Was mache ich falsch?
When using aereneder to render sequences log file omitts random data from log file. Although it renders all frames, log data loss can affect rendering automation and may cause false reports of non rendered frames and incomplete renders. When rendering video files this bug does not happen. In the attached files you can see that some frames were not logged as rendered, and in the other log file it seems like the render did not finish. In both renders that created these log files all frames were rendered correctly. In time when the industry is leaning towards automation, aerender is a very important toolDon't hasitate to contact me, aerender is a very important to my workflow and my clients workflowThanks in advance
[NOTE: I have tried to upload repro .zip, but it system didn't allow me to do so, so I have uploaded it as .pptx (this forum does not allow uploading of .zip / .aep / .jsx / ...). To repro the issue please download repro.pptx attachment and then rename it to repro.zip] Hi, I have an issue to report, related to the expression evaluation from scripting. If you are to open project, to add expression and to read its value inside of the same script, results might be invalid (they are reproducibly invalid for sampleImage at least). If you were to open project inside of the script, then finish the script, then add expression and read its value inside of another script everything would work as expected. I have much more complicated examples, but attached is the minimal repro - I'm using sample image to detect whether image has any transparency (it does not). script1.jsx, which does everything inside a single script, returns that image is transparent, which is wrong. script2.jsx which
The following task in Adobe After Effects:A text of unknown length is read into a text layer with an integrated text frame and should not exceed the maximum width of e.g. 1000 px (this value is read from a shape layer). As the text in the text layer with text frame is already wrapped, the question is how to technically implement the text to be reduced in size in order to stay within the intended maximum dimension of the shape layer. The text should be reduced as required using the font size in increments of 50px and should not exceed the length of 3 lines of text. If the text is cut off at the end, that would be bearable. In addition, the text should be a maximum of 300 px and not smaller than 100 px.I know how to script to scale text and make it the size of the shape layer, using the font size or scaling the text layer, but that does not completely solve the task presented here.Behind the text there is a shape layer as a support surface, which has already been solved using an expression.
I am applying Wave Warp and Turbulent Displace to a shape layer that is larger than the comp, but there are still gaps showing up around the edges. Is there an easy fix that I am missing? Thanks!
Hi,Wondering if anyone could help me with what seems like a simple problem but I can't seem to get it right. I'm using flowcharts quite a bit, like in the screenshot, and want these dashed lines to seamlessly move to convey a continuous influence of one thing on another. The line animates in with trim paths and then I'm using offset with loopout to keep it moving thereafter. But I can't seem to figure out what the key frames should be. The loops are not going from start to finish but gradually the start point of successive loops seems to edge its way around which gives a staggered look with an increasingly larger initial portion of the stroke not moving. Any pointers would be much appreciated,ThanksFrank
Hello everyone, i have a dual monitor setup and the video preview activated trough mercury transmit, but my second monitor is 2560x1440 and when i preview the HD (1920x1080) timeline it scales the preview to the monitor resolution which pixelates the whole thing...Is there any workaround? Thanks in advance.
