After Effects

Hi, I need some help creating something very close to this fire/light trail from Kung Fu Panda. In particular the look of the wispy firey trail and secondly the 2 trails twisting/wrapping around each other.I know my way around the basics of Trapcode Particular, and how to create particles following a path, but I have not used it to produce anything that looks like this, more just magical/fairy dust style.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

With all the new 3D features being added to After Effects, this also might end up being replaced with just importing a 3D model, but this is a free, quick way to create a strand of genetic material.  

Hello community! How is it possible for a so importand button not appearing in keyboard shortcut editor to asign a shortcut? It is very unproductive every time you need to fix tracking point to go back and forth with mouse (specialy if you work in big monitor). This issue has been around for ages. The value shown also shows Auto Leading as being selected even when it isn't. This issue MAY be brought about by Text Styling Expressions that affect Leading Values even in unrelated projects/comps.

Strange error ... layers showing that should not be.I have a cartoon mascot coming from right side raster, in the screenshot you can just start to see him coming on screen, but in my timeline the layers' in points are much later ...How / why is this happening? Been using AE for 20 years, never seen this.Yes, I checked all my layers, no weird time echo things going on.Is this an MXF format vs. time remapping error? Even my in points are cut? 

Please help.I downloaded a sapphire plug in and I do not know how to install it and use it as a effect in After effects. Please help me figure this out.

Hello,I am trying to use a 3D Modell of a glass bottle with a label on it in After Effects.I found out that Translucencs doesn't work in After Effects. So I wanted to work with Color, Roughness, Metallic and Opacity. I added the Label as an Image in the Material Section. But the only way to get a transparent bottle in After Effects was with lower Opacity. Unfortunatly it also changes the Opacity of the Image. The Opacity of the Image stays at 1, but as I change the Opacity of the Material (glass) it still affects the Images.This is the bottle in Full Opacity which isn't transparent in After Effects:This is the bottle with Opacity 0.5 which would be transparent in After Effects, but also makes the Images (Label) transparent.Unfortunatly I can't upload the OBJ, GLB or GLTF File...Do you have any Solutions for the transparency in After Effects?Like how I could keep the Image in full Opacity and only reduce the Opacity of the glass Material?

Hello, i am editing on after effects 2020 and i used twixtor pro for a clip, i pre composed it and went to right click, time and "Time-Reverse Layer", it started flashing dark blue time to time during the clip, does anyone know whats wrong?

Hello, so im currently using adobe after effects 2020 and i am making an edit, i used twixtor pro on one of my clips and then pre composed it, after i copied it and reversed it by right clicking, going on time then "Time-Reverse Layer" now inbetween the clip its flashing dark blue time to time, does anyone know how to fix this?

Hi, I want the hand to move/wiggle only between 0/360 to 180. I dnt want it to cross 180. How will I write expression in such case using wiggle.(I had to reduce the screento gif export color option only to 12, otherwise file size is too big to upload, Adobe dsnt allow me to upload gif , thts why the gif is acting weird. am sorry :I ) Thank you.  

The Turbulent Displace is one of my favorite effects. But my problem with that effect is how it behaves on shape layers in 3D comps withh null-parented cameras. I'm told I should pre-comp the shape layer that has the Turbulent Displace effect applied. But if I do that, what happens in the null-parented camera 3D comp scene is that the precomped shape layer now loses resolution and becomes quite pixelated as I dolly into the shape. The only way to avoid this is to turn on the rasterization button " * " for that layer. But this then changes the layer's shape:  I'd like to be able to zoom in / dolly in on the shape layer without it losing resolution. In After Effects, the default when pasting an effect from one layer to another is to replace the existing instance of the effect with the settings of the new one.However I'm trying to paste an additional instance without replacing the existing instance of the effect.In my case, I'm trying to copy an Instance of Video Copilot's Element effect ("Element A") onto a layer that already has an instance ("Element B"). The result is to replace Element B with Element A, but I'd like to have both Element A AND Element B on the layer. Anyone know how to get around this?Thank you!

I am trying to put Flow in After Effects and I need my CEP folder but It's not there. I'm not sure how to create my own & if it'll work when trying to follow the directions to download or install Flow. Here were the directions they gave me : 1. Copy Folder ' flow-v1.4.2 ' Paste:Win : C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\CEP\extensions\Mac : /Application Support/Adobe/CEP/extensions2.Merge Key via Add Keys P.S: I am using Mac 2022. Again, the problem is I can't find my CEP folder. Please help. Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone!I'm experiencing a strange issue while working on a 2D motion in After Effects. It feels like there's an invisible 3D axis where, as objects move closer to the center of the screen, they seem to recede in depth (as you can see in the files attached). This affects the stroke of my lines, making them thinner as they approach the center of the screen and thicker as they move away. Has anyone else encountered something like this or knows if this could be due to an effect or expression that might be causing it? I'm trying to keep the stroke thickness uniform.Any help would be much appreciated!

Hello there,When I import exr file into After, and apply EXtractoR, with some exr it does not show correctly the channels, mixing another channel into another.If I read the exr with MRV2, it shows correctly.Anybody have a clue to solve this bug?

Hello. Could someone kindly point me to a tutorial on YouTube, or any other platform, where I can learn how to create this intro from the video in the link below? The intro is between 34 and 56 seconds. I have the artwork in Photoshop, all separated into layers. Therefore, I want to recreate this intro in After Effects, but I haven't found any tutorial with the same principles. I had been facing a very weird issues with after effects and premiere pro.my last project is made of one composition of a wide screen with just a few solid color shape in the background and some pictures of peoples and there name with mix of illustrator files and text layer. All of it precomped in a small composition with just a png picture of the stage.In the preview panel, everything play good, nothing looks weird. but when i export it, i get this glitching frames, looks like artifacts or a glitches ruining the pictures or the shapes during moving, even glitches appears on parts on the PNG that doesn't have any movement at all. Also it sometimes skips frames and jump forward in time. Similar problem has been happening with a different project, it's a dynamic link timeline imported from adobe premiere pro, with 1 minute of footages, edited on 1080p.i added some Ai logo layers and some text. also plays good inside after effects, but after rendering it, i found some glitches, with

Subject says it all--any time I open a CC program (I just use AE the most so I'm putting it here, since there doesn't appear to be an all-CC forum, but it happens with any program and/or CC desktop) for the first time after restarting my computer, I get a "The font LTC Goudy Oldstyle Pro Bold was added" notification. It only happens with this one font--any other Adobe font I use behaves normally. Why is this, and how can I make that stop? It's not harmful, just annoying and perplexing. I'm on a stout Windows 10 desktop PC with plenty of memory/RAM/GPU horsepower, running the latest CC programs (but this has been going on for a while, for the last few updates).
