After Effects

Hello,I have been using after effects for a while, but I have never encountered this problem before!I am importing an Illustrator file, how I always have (Import File > Select File > select Composition with Layers > Import)My Illustrator file is also correctly set up. Each asset that I want as a layer on after effects, is its own layer on illustrator - 5 layers total in this case.I got some sort of RAM message, that I accidentally closed, and since then whenever I import an illustrator file (exactly as I have been doing before) it imports as a composition, but with no layers, simply as footage.It is a very illustrator heavy file, but I am working on a relatively new Mac Book Pro (16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3).What is going on, and how can I fix it?Than you

It's supposed to act as a non visible layer just for code.Right now I have some nested animations in precomps which can be triggered with markers and marker comments. But what I'm trying to achieve is a user friendly approach since I'm making a rig for someone else and manually writing markers isn't userfriendly enough. I have a control layer with several controls including the Dropdown effect. I want to animate this effect

I'm working in After Effects, and I received tracking data that was created in Maya by an outside company. They tracked the ground plane for me and sent me a lot of different filetypes, and I'm wondering how I can use these files inside After Effects to attach sometime to the ground plane. I am only familiar with the basic tracking tools inside After Effects (and Mocha) so I'm not sure how to use the virtual camera files with my two 2D layers. Here are the files I received:Node (.jsx)Camera (.jsx).3de.macam.abcGeo.abcGeo.fbxGeo.objTwo jpeg sequences of the footage with the lens distortion removed, and one of them has a wireframe of the tracked ground and wall planes.I am not familiar with any of these file types, so any advice is appreciated! I don't need to do anything fancy with these, just attach something to the ground track for about five seconds.

I've searched for an expression that will use a slider to change the x position on the last keyframe but can only seem to get it work on adjusting the first keyframes x position instead. Any help as to what I need to amend in the expression to get it work would be great. 

I'm developing an AEGP plugin, and I'd like to store my own custom data in a comp, or in a project. Is there a way to do that?

Hello! I am trying to make a gif in after effects. In the gif I have moving elements overlaping each other and I am wanting the end of the animation to overlap with the beginning of the animation so there are no pauses. Would anyone know how to do this?

Hello ! I am building a mogrt for a LT that has a looped texture as a backdrop. LT has protected regions for aniamtion in and animation out. Now, when i import it to Premiere Pro and shorten or extend the mogrt, the outcome is that the looped texture change its speed outside protected region resulting in some visual inconsistency - protected region has a normal texture tempo and unprotected region has either high rate ( short mogrt) or are very slow (longer mogrt) Is there a way to make the texture has just one frame rate regardless of how long or short the mogrt will be made inside premiere pro ? many thanks !

Hello All,  Long time ago I knew that I could have multiple instances of After Effects opened and work in different projects at the same time. Since I am old, I forgot that. There is a flag that I used to use in order to do that, but I can't remember at the moment. Hi! A while ago I uninstalled Adobe After Effects as I have no use for it any more and wanted to save some space on my macbook. Now, I found out that the Cineware plugins are still installed on my macbook and I would like to delete those as I have no need to use them. Is it safe to delete those and how should I do so? Can I just drag them into the trash can? Thank you for your help!

Whenever I set my project's Working Color Space to REC-709 Gamma 2.4, the colors and levels I produce in the project never match the render that comes out of After Effects.  The "darks" never appear as dark, and the "brights" don't look as bright as they do when im working in After Effects. It's as if REC-709 washes out my renders.  So I have to work with VERY extreme levels in the project so my renders look closer to what I want. I've tried different outputs (Pro Res, H264) and it doesnt make a difference. Has anyone else experienced this or has a solve for it? Thanks!  

Hi guys,    I've got this error after I've reopen the saved file in my mac, the error appears when I 've saved the file hours ago and I can't open the project now.  Any idea what could be causing it abd how to fix the problem? Thanks  (Note: Subject edited by moderator)

I'm one of those crazy people who primarily uses After Effects for compositing. (And has since 4.1.) As I move to an M1 Mac, I'll lose compatibility with two plug ins I use often: Red Giant Light Wrap and Red Giant Edge Blur (from their long-discontinued keying suite). I can license Boris BCC and Sapphire and together (for thousands of dollars) can get replacement plug ins. Along with a lot of stuff I don't need. And for a few thousand dollars. These are basic effects built into Nuke and I would love to see Adobe include them in future releases. Light Wrap in particular is invaluable although for me Edge Blur is what I am having more trouble replacing. Thanks!

I'm running Windows 11 Pro, Intel i9-14900K, 96 GB RAM, Nvidia RTX 4080 Super GPU.  AE was working as it should this morning, but now I'm getting the following errors messages when I try to launch it.  I already tried uninstalling AE, then cleaned the registry, rebooted and then reinstalled AE, but still the same.  Just before this problem started, I tried to install the VanceAI Desktop App and had installation problem with it.  Does anyone know what the CEP suite is or how I can fix this?  Thank you!

Dear After Community! I'm new with After effect and I have a question 🙂 I spent hours trying to find out how to do a straight line in after effect. I'm trying to reproduce the effect of this video of the fruits/vegetables coming fast and then moving very slow motion.  I'm able to create a fast arriving effect very easily but then I struggle to make the end of the speed graph as a straight (linear) line, so the vegetable/fruit can go slow until the end, at a constant speed.  You can find attached what I'm referring to (my fast arrival would be between 0 to 5 sec and then I try to create a straight line afterward). If you have any ideas thank you!

 Hi guys I wanted to ask what version of After Effects would be smooth for my MacBook to handle and run smoothly without any issues, I got this bad boy in Japan for an extremely good price from a well known Apple reseller in Tokyo. I'm new to editing so I don't know much 

So... is there a way to copy attributes as described. When I tried to select all shape layers and paste the copied keyframes it duplicated the layers instead of pasting the keyframes into shape/content/group of each layer. So I have to copy keyframes and each layer separately to avoid it.   

I'm having an issue with an old project I recently re-opened. I scaled the comp from 405 to 1080. Everything was vector so it scaled beautifully, BUT when I go to render, the motion blur is "sticking" on some words. In the screenshot above, see the "but did" before "he go"? The words flew on from off the screen and have stopped. They should no longer have any motion blur, but it's stuck there. When I purge the memory and cache, it updates and disappears, but as soon as I try to render again, it sticks again.Any suggestions to force the motion blur to disappear as normal when the word stops moving? The rest of the words (in this sentence) are fine. This happens multiple times throughout the composition, so it's not just this one layer.

Hello, is there any way to make a selection to obtain an area specific mesh warp that doesn't effect the whole picture? I'm asking this because from time to time by using mesh warp (since it applies to the whole image, as seen in the above picture) I end up having to work with either a misaligned or a generally too wide grid and it's really not ideal (the above picture already has the maximum selectable amount of rows and cols).Thanks in advance to everyone!

I am unable to type an accent over an "o" in AE... The character Ø displays. Or I can get an accent after the letter O ´. I even tried copying and pasting the accented letter from another source, but it just shows as an "o" without the accent. I need to type the name "Rendón" AE just wont let me do it.
