After Effects

Hi,When I launch After Effects (24.5), I immediately get the following error message and: "After Effects error: crash occurred while invoking plug-in "AEDynamicLinkServer"." The error is occuring on multiple devices. What i've tried to doRebooting my systemUsed the Creative Cloud Cleaner tool and re-installed of all of my apps. Software & System info:Adobe After Effects 24.5 on a 2023 Macbook Pro running MacOS Sonoma 14.5Adobe After Effects 24.5 on a 2017 iMac Pro running MacOS Sonoma 14.5

I don't know why this is happening, it started a few days ago, I normally have my disk cache size around 400GB and I have everything set up because I primarily work with large 3D renders and custom animations. Everything is set up specifically for these types of comps but whenever I close AE and reopen everything is back to default. It also keeps showing me the tutorial pop ups as if I've only just downloaded it for the first time. Anyone know a fix?

I was working on my project on version 24.5 and I needed to create a 3D object. I decided to switch to Advanced 3D and After Effects, after thinking for a long time, told me "Before you exit the program you have one last chance to save your project". I didn't understand and saved it as a copy and AE crashed. Later I tried to re-enter the project - same thing. I went to the copy - same thing. Reinstalled After Effects - same thing. I tried installing previous versions, eventually I was able to do something, but at some point After Effects started giving me a lot of errors, finally telling me to save the project before exiting and crashing.Tried to contact support - nothing so far. Can anyone help with this? I can of course start again, but I'd like to get back to that stage of the project.My system: RTX 4070 Ti, Threadripper 3960X, 64gb RAM. After Effects is on a SATA ssd (500gb, fully cleaned)

Hello,Simply by clicking on the 'Designer' button crashes AE. Ive just updated everything and even tried in AEbeta, same problem. I'mn running an iMac Pro 10 core, 64gb, Vega 56. All softward is the latest version.Need help urgentlyThanks!!

Using Ae 24.1   I imported a tracked .jsx camera exported from google earth studio which came into After Effects with the classic 3D renderer. It kept the tracking data and looked beautiful. When I switched to the advanced 3D renderer in order to add a custom 3D model (GBL), the camera shakes. Also, the extruded text and models don't appear correctly—  as if the fields are separated. see picture. Is this a known issue? Is there a fix? I can of course, use the C4D renderer to extrude the type but I cant import a gbl 3D model directly into Ae and using the C4dlite to accomplish the same feat seems like overkill. So I thought I'd inquire here. Thanks! 

Hi all,I'm running After Effects 23.3 on macOS Ventura. I've been working on a project for a few days, but now I am completely unable to open it. Whenever I try, After Effects crashes immediately with a pop-up:  Initially I though that the file was corrupted but it opens just fine on my colleague's computer (also After Effects 23.3, macOS Ventura). What I tried so far:importing the project to a new project in After Effectsuninstalling and re-installing AEinstalling older versions of AEmaking a copy & renaming the filedeleting all 3rd party plugins from the AE foldertrying to open the file with caps lock on I would be grateful for any help from you!

I'm new to After Effects and have watched tutorials, read about how to fix this but just can't. I have the effects installed on my pc but they don't work in AE. Would anyone be willing to help me "install" the effects. 

Hi,Facing issue with source footage updates.After source footage updates not updating in After Effects. For example if I do some changes like added one layer with one new object in linked illustrator file, it not showing. And if I import again as individual layer that layer also not showing in After Effects. Yes, after close and reopen After Effects it is appearing. It is diffcult to reopen AE again and again after any footage updates.Any solution? After Effects version: 24.5 (Build 52)System: Mac Book ProChip: Apple M3 MaxmacOS: Sonoma 14.5Memory: 128 GB 

This issue has been going on for months, maybe over a year. It happens both on Windows and MacOS. Using shortcuts to open properties on photoshop layer freezes up AE for ~10-15 seconds.It only happens when doing it 1st time. Consecutive use of shortcuts on the same layer does not freeze up AE. But then using the shortcuts on another psd layer freezes up again. Test PSD file is <150mb, 1080p. Can you combine multiple masks as one mask?What I'm trying to achieve: Manipulate the shape of the Radio Wave effect set by my custom Mask shape.Mask shape: Developed in Illustrator. Auto-traced shape in AE. Right clicked > Mask > New Mask > Generates multiple masks from my individual objects that make up my mask shape.Radio Wave Effect Settings:Wave type > MaskMask > Mask 1Layer 1: (Solid Composition)Effect > Radio waveMask shape - Comprised of multiple shapes but each shape is broken into layers. (problem)In my mask options, it shows that my mask shape is broken into 9 parts which these 9 parts make up the shape I want it to be. In the 'Radio Wave Effect Settings' when setting the Mask (not Wave Type) to Mask 1, I see a total of 9 options (Mask 1, Mask 2, Mask 3, etc), therefore causing the radio wave effect to reference only Mask 1. Hi there, is there a way to simply center the anchorpoint of a sublayer? For the Anchorpoint of any layer there are multiple ways to center the anchorpoint (layer transform), but not for the anchorpoint in the shape transform within a layer. Sometimes I have like 20 sublayers in one layer and I would like to fastly center the anchorpoint to the center of each sublayer. Can't find it anywhere on any forum. Thanks for any hero that know the answer!

Hi! I'm making hand-drawn stop motion animation in AE. I've tried to put my pictures to a sequence but it won't work for me.For example, I have a new composition, the duration of it is 10 frames and I've imported 10 pictures to it.The duration for the layers is 1 frame, like this:And when I select them all, right-click, go to keyframe assistant and sequence layers, it will end up like this:Can you tell me what am I doing wrong? I'm new to AE so it could be something very stupid.

Did anyone try opening AE on macOS Sequoia beta? When I try to open AE 24.4.1 it opens in chinese (language in preferences is set to English). I know that this OS is not supported yet, however premiere pro opens normaly. Is there a workaround?  thx

Hi everyone, I'm currently having issues with Aftereffects 2024 on my Mac. I've attached below a screen record showing the issue. It is when I type out anything in the text tool. It comes up with a blue outline. It will only type out certain letters but, very slowly & sometimes not at all. Everything else working fine besides this issue.  Every time you see a blue outline in the recording, that's me typing. It could be something simple. I could be just having a noob moment! hahaha Thanks.  

Please help me figure out how to remove glare or reflection from a video I recorded on my dash camera.  It is reflection in the windshield.  I would like to remove the window post reflection on the left side, the windshield wipers reflection along the bottom and I would like to remove the two dots that are up in the sky.  I have downloade the free version of Adobe After Effect software.  I will gladly purchase the full version if this software can remove these items from the video.  I have searche high and low to find a video editor that will do these things.  I have attached a video that shows exactly what I am needing to have done.  I appreciate your assistance with this matter.  (Note: I tried to upload this same question, but as far as I could tell it did not upload my question, so here is my second try)

I've already linked the null layer to the clip, but whenever I try to add a ''s_shake'' effect, it wouldn't show up in the preview and not change anything.I'd have to place the effect directly IN the 'Comp_1' layer for it to show.I'm confused if it's just bugging or is there another issue?

I'm creating an animation for one of my characters, everything is fine until I use duik to create pins for the character, then my character's hand disappears like it's under a clipping mask into a box like that. Is there anyone who can help me? 

 

HI, so I was wondering if its possible. I draw something whimsically, after some tweaking when am happy with the shape I wanna make that 100,100 in scale property. Each time I reset the shape it goes back to its first drawn size. is there any way I can make the modified/customized size 100,100 in scale property in Ae? Thank you. 

Good morning, pls tell me how to solve the problem!When I want to use 3d models(obj) as a sequence in the model emitter field, I get only a static picture and not an animation.  At first I thought the problem was exporting OBJ, but when I import OBJ sequence in element 3d everything works like clockwork windows 11 Ae version 24.5trapcode 18.0

Help function is not initialized in ae. What to do?
