After Effects

I've been trying to create an animation for social media in After Effects. When I try and implement a preset text animation via Bridge, I get the attached error message. I asked an After Effects expert for advice and he thought it was a bug and it should be reported to Adobe, which is what I'm doing! Any suggestions gratefully received. (My system spec: iMac Apple M3 (bought this year),  Sonoma 14.4.1,  Bridge 14.1.1,  After Effects 24.5)  

Hey, I'm encountering an issue with rendering animated GIFs that have transparency. Both After Effects and Media Encoder are producing corrupted files, as shown. The project file seems fine because I've successfully rendered this project before without any issues. I suspect the problem might be related to a recent update. I've already tried switching the render engine and creating a new project file to check, but the results are still the same.

hiwhen attempting to switch timeline tabs with wacom, often the tab "sticks" to the cursor, and the only way i found to stop it is to switch out and back into after effects (cmd+tab). then the tab gows to whichever panel the cursor was hovering on, often creating a new panel for the timeline.**this may happen in other areas of AE, but not as consistently and as often as with the timeline tabs!**i estimate this sticky behaviour has been going on for a year or two.it is possibly a misinterpretation of the wacom multydimensional input, that needs to be ignored in this instance..tech: 27i iMac 2020, sonoma 14.4.1, wacom intuos pro - all software and drives up-to-date.

I wonder, why does Rotobrush do a recalculation when you hit Freeze? What is the process behind it? What is the point? The tool isolates an object once then it does it again. Nothing changes before freezing. If you change any values it does not infleunce the freeze-unfreeze time if it once was frozen so what is the point of recalculation of the first freeze? Is there a chance Adobe will make Rotobrush take one pass of rotoscoping instead of two? Because it is really so tedious ro see it do it twice and it takes so much time.

Error 404 shows up when i attempt to download After Effects.How to encounter this:1. Click on After Effects in the Adobe Homepage.2. Click "Send me the link" when it says "We'll send you a link so you can easily download After Effects on your desktop."3. When it opens your mail app, send the link to yourself.4. Open the email and copy and paste the link into your browser.5. Hello Everyone, I'm new to After Effects scripting with JavaScript. I've written a script to collect text layer properties (inTime, outTime, fontName, fontSize). Additionally, if the layer has keyframes, I need to gather the keyTime and text from those keyframes. While the script correctly collects the text properties, it doesn't accurately retrieve the text for each keyframe, instead, it returns the same text (from the first keyframe) for all keyframes. Could anyone help me resolve this issue? Hello, Im doing an animated text inside a Rectangle.The animation is like the "Typewriter" template, but instead of opacity I used scale 0% The animation works great if i play it from frame 0, but if i grab the Text and Rectangle layer and move to the frame 100, the Rectangle is already in full size when my text is empty. Is like the size of my text is being read from the layer timeline, instead of the composition timeline.Expression im using in my Rectanglex = thisComp.layer("text").sourceRectAtTime().width;y = thisComp.layer("text").sourceRectAtTime().height;[x,y]

I have a question,I have to write a text in hindi but Adobe After effects does not provide Hindi font(s). I have tried changing the keyboard input in my Mac but it was no good. Is there a way to type in Hindi?I get a text error like a picture.I looked for type manu, but it is not anywhere....please help !

 Basically I'm looking to create a proportional lines that comes out of the texts from the right to the corresponding individual texts to the left; what I have in mind is either create the lines in Ai or Ps then import but I'm not sure if it would make things easier at the end or just complicate it. The image above is just a sample to what I'm working on. I came across a plugin that could do stuff like this easily but I forgot the name. The lines in the middle part were better than the rest but everything could be definitely be better.

When working with shape layers I get this message before After Effects reverts back to the state before I started adding shape layers.After Effects warning: Undo group mismatch, will attempt to fix.

Situation: 1. Artist runs script on mac that creates corner pin data into a text file. 2. Text file has Unix (LF) line break characters3. Notepad on windows 11 now recognizes these. 4. Attempt to copy paste data into AE Layer5. AE refuses to patse becasue it is looking for Windows (CRLF) line breaks. 6. Spend a few hours scratching your head as to why your keyframe data won't paste. 7. Fall down deep rabbit hole  Workarounds:Drag txt file into Chrome and then copy paste from there seems to be the easiest. 

After Effects is creating .CRASH files on my desktop every time I open it. It isn't crashing. Does anyone know how to change this behavior?

hello, I'm doing 2d animation on krita, and I'd like to be able to import them into after effect to rework them but without losing the different images and layers so that I can move them separately, so I can't put it in .MP4.So I've installed the OCA script for krita, which works, but the DuIO script for importing into after effect doesn't work, and I get the error message "incorrect argument".Is there any other way of importing my animations or repairing the script?Thanks for your help.Translated with DeepL.com (free version)

I have a composition that is 2160x3840 and I am trying to render out an .h264 with a VBR target bitrate at 100mbs. When it renders out, the resolution has been changed to 1296x2304 The Render settings are at "Best" quality and "Full" resolution Is this a bug or are my render settings forcing a resolution downgrade for some reason?

Hi, I'm Paolo from Italy. I'm working for a customer and this he asked me something bit challenging. I will add a short video. Could you see the cabinet with my name, "BIANCHI QUADRI". At one point, the drone start rotating around the machine, I would like the phrase rotate in the same time. I tried: Tracking, but it seems works on a single directionI tried: Tracking camera, but I've never used it Could you help me?  

I’m on a MacBook Pro 2023Apple m3 pro chip18 gbs RAM (… the minimum rec)1 tb SSD Sonoma 14.5 Basically… I will be working along, auto save will periodically pop up, and then sometimes I’ll see that there hasn’t actually been a save in hours. Other times application memory warning will pop up at almost 110 gbs and the app will stop responding. I close out, clear cache, mess with settings, uninstall, reinstall, nothing seems to solve this frustrating problem. I lost a whole day of progress today, even when I swore it saved earlier. The auto-save folder will say the time of the most recent save, but when I open it there is no save file with a corresponding time of save. It’s just so bizarre I can’t seem to find much on forums about this. I'm not doing anything that i thought was too intensive, besides basic layer compositing.

After Effects versions (since forever) to 24.4.0 ........ long menu pickers don’t scroll with the mouse wheel.  The only option is to click and hold the up/down triangles which are very slow (8 lines/items a second on average).  Doesn’t matter where the menu is - in an effect chooser, or even when parenting in a comp with many layers. Other interface components in After Effects respect the scroll wheel (effects list, project panel, comp layers, etc.) - please fix this so menu list pickers use the mouse scroll wheel. 

Working with AE more for the last year there are a lot of strange things about it. Performance is generally not great, even on a fast machine and it seems to be irractic when it runs well and when it does not. No other apps open, sometimes improves, other times no difference.However, one of the more odd things is the app steals focus and will not let it go. I have to move dialog boxes to my other monitor to continue working.  Cleaning Cache often takes a very long time and both the preferences screen and the progress screen refuse to hide, remaining on top of all applications. Why? No other app does this. How is this not a bug? 

I have an extremely simple project with two adjustment layers with minimal effects and two video files. The second I enable time remapping for the video files After Effects fails to render more than a few frames and gives a low ram warning. I only have 16 GB tho, but the simplicity of the project is what concerns me. Anyone else have this issue on the new version?

After Effects is constantly giving me the low memory warning, I have a Mac M1 with 64 gigs of RAM.  After Effects has always been a memory hog but this is ridiculous! I am using Particular, maybe this is contributing to the issue.  I clear the cache constantly, but still do not have memory cleared up for previewing. So, seeing the green lines to show, cached frames is not accurate, sometimes these do not show and do not update.  I also get warnings at launch that my cashe does not have enough space, but there is enough space, I have 90 gigs of cash allocated and I have 150 gigs available on my hard drive. Why does this keep happening?

But when I try to add 'Echo' there isn't no motion blur, does anyone have any idea why?I have linked the .png file below and the screen I see.
