After Effects

After Effects has started glitching when I try to play the video I'm making. After I make a change, it will render part of the video and then only loop the playback of that portion, rather than continuing to render the entire video. If I move the placement over the unrendered part to prompt it to render it, it will, however it will simply leave off a different portion of the composition when I try to playback the next time. Is there a fix for this? I'm using Version 24.1.0 on Windows 10.

Hey, community,Can we "change label colors" with keyboard shortcuts in After Effects?I'm asking because I've tried this with my Numpad keys, and it's only selecting layers after I've created the shortcuts. Maybe there's something in system settings I'm missing? I've even attempted a shift + 1 (Numpad) command, and it's still only selecting layers and not changing the label color for me.In Premiere Pro, this works fine. I select a number from my numpad and can change label colors this way; I wonder why the same wouldn't apply in After Effects.

If i try to expand edges on my Element 3D text a big pole comes out of it.I already reinstalled Ae and Element, changing the font, the textures and so on. Reinstalling helped first but now its here again.I use After Effects 2022, i used 2021 before. Same bug there.Would be glad if someone knows how to fix it

Hi! I use After Effect 2024 version and also new beta version. When I import 3D objects in After Effect, I get errors. Error is : Advanced 3D Plug-in generated an unexpected exception. And If I click OKEY, the program closes by itself.How can I fix it?I delete After Effect and download again and again. But it isn't fix. My RAM is 32GB and my card is 6GB. I can use classic 3D.Please help me!

I have a 3d scene in After Effects where 20 photos of people around a table are positioned with X rotation for each photo at 90º. I'm using an orbital null-parented 2 node camera. To animate the scene, I turn the Null's Z orientation to make it look like the camera is orbiting around the table. What I'd like is for the photos to always be facing the camera as I orbit around the table. But the problem is that the photos are not facing the camera as I orbit (see last pic). What setting do I need to adjust to make this happen? Thank you very much in advance for any help with this.   

I have been trying to figure out what happened that caused the vector art to cut off after it was imported into After Effects. I tired changing the composition size but it still does not do it for me, the art where it was cut off is still cut off in the bigger comp. ANNOYING! 

Whenever I go into the graph editor and try to mess around with the graph editor handles, AE always seems to crash. I can move a handle around until it gets to the halfway point, and then AE crashed. I can't get my transitions as smooth as I would like due to this issue.

Hey team,If I render a video in After Effects and choose the "Include project link" function, the next time when I import the video and click "Edit original" After Effects can automatically open the original project file.My question is how do I know where the open files are saved? I only know part of the file location info will be shown on the top bar. I can't use "show in folder" to trace the project file.If the file is not opened by the same version of After Effects, the file would be opened in a converted way, which still can't find the original file location.

I cannot download and install after effects. what is admin email and password/

(NOTE: This issue happens no matter what effect I use from PP).I'm using the Ultra Key effect in PP because it works much better for me than AE's green screen key effects. Once I tweak the keying in PP to a satisfactory amount, I select the option "Replace With After Effects Composition" to take the clip to AE to add AE effects. Problem is none of my PP effects carry over to AE so it's all undone. How do I keep the result of the PP effects into an AE composition? I was thinking to just export the clip with PP effects, then take it into AE, but not only do I lose some quality no matter how high the quality I export to, but it takes up a ton of space (these are all 4K clips, some at 60fps). And if I need to tweak or add any PP effects later on, I have to re-export and start from scratch in AE depending on how drastic the change is to the orginal PP clip. So I'll only use this method as a last resort. Please tell me there's another way?

So to start with, I've got this from way back when:  L = thisComp.layer("Layer 2/Mouse Cursor.ai"); p = L.transform.position; sampleImage(p,[.5,.5],true)[3] > 0 ? 100 : 0  It's from an old project, which emulated the Windows GUI and governed the mouse-hover effects (when the mouse cursor was over something it would become visible just like in Windows). I'm looking to do something similar now but I can't figure out how to do it. Basically, I've got a path that draws a line through a scene courtesy a Trim Paths property, with dots marking vertices in the path (so anytime the path turns, there's a dot to mark it). What I'm looking to do is for the dots to sample the path layer, and when the path becomes visible beneath them, for the dots themselves to become visible. I know SampleImage is the key to making it work, but I can't figure out how to go about it. I feel like this is close (applied to the Opacity property of one of the "dot" layers): ta

Dead Community! I used AE several times, rendered several videos, but now I cannot render a simple 34 second video, it takes like 2-3-4 hours to render, like why? Once I did a similar edit, with many plugin, back then it took like 2 minutes to render, but now I can't render a 34 sec. long video under like 5 minutes. It takes several hours to render a short video. What's changed? Cheers.

I click on a window, for example a window with a video preview, it is highlighted for 0.1 second, and the selection is immediately removed. This makes the program difficult to use. For example, text cannot be entered. What can I do? I've already reset the preferences.

Hi all,I'm working on a motion graphic template where I have a rectangle I'd like to resize. I've used two slider controls for this. On the rectangle's size parameter, we have:Width = thisComp.layer("Full Lower Third").effect("Box Width")("Slider");Height = thisComp.layer("Full Lower Third").effect("Box Height")("Slider");[Width, Height]I'm also using a workaround from YouTube to be able to resize this rectangle from the top left corner as if I had moved an anchor point there. Is it possible to assign keyboard shortcut to open currently selected composition in timeline?Currently I use double-click for this but it's not always convenient and is quite tiresome.

I'm trying to export a png-sequence for Lottie and whenever I press render I get this message.  I've tried every fix I could find, I re-exported the original png-sequence, I exported as a JPEG-Sequence, tried renaming them, tried saving them from another app, but nothing works. What does work is when I export the PNG sequence from the render queue and then turning on the option of embedding the color profile, then it renders fine.The thing is, Bodymovin, the Lotty plugin, does that automatically, without being able to change any settings (that's how they compress the png's/jpg's before adding them to the json).I never had this problem before, with any PNG sequence at any moment, with Lottie. It happened now after I've updated every Adobe app.

I'm trying to create a similar effect to an old Crash Course video. They have the text appearing on the screen as the narrator talks. See sample at 1:08: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1A_CAkYt3GY I can get the text to appear at the right time easily enough, however, Crash Course has it fade on. How can I make it so that each word smoothly fades on, without my changes affecting the entire text box?
