After Effects

Long shot, and obviously don't expect any hyper-specific answers, but I was wondering if anyone might have some insight on how extendscript.dll, scripting.aex, and CEPManager.aex work together? When doing some debugging, I notice that when extendscript is called, it loads both scripting.aex, and extendscript.dll.Same with CEPManager.aex.My assumption is that scripting.aex loads extendscript.dll, and performs script execution. CEPManager.aex would probably do similar.This being said, how exactly might all of this work together?I'm working on a plugin that exposes python as an alternative, and I'm running into some issues when figuring out how to run concurrent scripts.I've embedded a python module that wraps SDK calls, and have successfully created a python API as a (partial) alternative to extendscript. I can successfuly call into the plugin with a python script, which will then perform automations (making new project, comp, manipulating layers, etc).However, I can only have

When I tried to import an animation I made in After Effects into Premiere Pro, it has a black background instead of transparent. How do I fix this? Is it a setting issue? Or maybe a glitch? The first project I did on After Effects I can remember having to manually puta background or else it would be transparent. I don't know why it didn't do the same this time.

When working with ACES, using Lumetri color does not increase the bright values over 1.0 except only with Whites in Basic Correction. Example of using Curves from Lumetri  When using default Curves effect You can see how default curves the value in info panel goes to 25.5 while the same thing with Lumetri stays at 1.0The only setting in Lumetri that will go over 1 is when increasing Whites, but it only goes to ~1.5 

Could someone please help me? I don't know what to do I've tried all that I could, I've purged my cache and memory buildup, changed my video rendering and effects settings, restarted my computer, updated my computer and uninstalled and reinstalled after effects. The playback is choppy and doesn't play smoothly as it did before, so it's become increasingly difficult for me to edit on my computer. It was fine up until this point I don't understand what has gone wrong. My computer has 32gb of RAM. Please look at the image below, the green bar does not want to fill out like it usually does.

I use After Effects 23.4.0The problem is, after the latest updates, I won’t say for sure from which one, aerender.exe stopped using Multi-Frame Rendering, i.e. render happens as in After effects with the option turned off  "Multi-Frame Rendering". Flag in aerender.exe - mp, does not help.i.e. rendering does not go several frames in parallel, as it should happen, and how it happens in After effects, sequentially, as with the option "Multi-Frame Rendering" turned off.Has anyone encountered or noticed this problem? 

Hi everyone,  I'm trying to export these bushes from Illustrator to After Effects and am having some trouble. As you can see, it's quite complex. The brown tips of the leaves are all in clipping masks, which Overlord doesn't like. It's also hard to import them into After Effects the normal way (CMD + I). If anyone has any tips, I'd greatly appreciate it!

Hi, when using CC cyclinder is there a way to connect the two compositions togther? (See picture attached) I want to create one endless spiral that rotates. Thank you. 

After updating I notice when selecting keyframes and moving them, they don't stay put. I guess it's hard to explain but normally I can click, drag a keyframe and when I release the mouse button it releases...but now the keys seem to move slightly in the direction my mouse is moving, so I have to reposition them. Do any of you have this issue? MX Master 2Win11RTX 2080, Studio Driver 527.56

The idea is to input the names or text in a CSV spreadsheet or some other form of batch insertion and receive them ready, without having to record each one individually.Can you inform me if I can do this with Adobe After Effects?Thanks!

Hi all, After Effects 24.1.0 doesn't want to open exr file because of long filepath. When I copy the file to root folder - it works properly. I`ve changed registre key in Windows 10 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem\LongPathsEnabled from 0 to 1  and Windows has no problems with this file anymore. Is there some solution for Adobe products?

Hi, I have a object that i have saved as an SVG file and imported into After Effects but it alwasy comes with a white box. So in illustrated (i am an illustrator novice and no nothing about it) i flatterened the transparency and a white box appeared that i couldn't remove (cuase i can't use illustractor), but some how between photoshop and illustractor i managed to get the white box off and the image in without a white box, but now it has greated 1000 of paths so when i try to "Create Shapes from Vector Layer" its far to complex. I also have been unable to repeat the process.  Also the object/image was altered by all of this! So my question is - how do i create a SVG file for a pre-exisitng object to import it into AF so i can "Create Shapes from Vector Layer" - are there any other file formates that will work for this? Is there anything i can save from photoshop? Any tipes/suggestions? Thank you so much

What exactly is the L3 cache memory? and also, what other tasks is the L3 cache memory specifically targeted? and for example what would be the difference from a 12mb L3 cache CPU to a 128mb L3 cache CPU like the ryzen 9 7950x3d thank you 😄

Hello there, im looking for some help with designing an effect with a pattern can anyone help me ?

There are nice transition videos on Stock. I figured out how to use a colored one by simply getting rid of the black with keying and then it overlays to make a nice transition from scene A to B. See below.  But they have others that are black and white. See below.  I could key out the black revealing scene A but I'd like the white movement in the transition reveal scene B. I'm sure there's a way to do it but can't figure it out. Can anyone help explain how to do this? Thanks.

I'm working on an animation to use as a background in an app. On the top and bottom of the screen, I'm using two Wave Warp effects. I've found that as the waves get longer and taller, little kinks start appearing, as shown below I've noticed that the kinks (or whatever you call them) appear when the wave height gets above 50, and the weave width gets above 350. The composition size is 1440 wide and 2960 tall (Galaxy Note 10 screen). I've tried adding a gaussian blur and then another effect on top of that, per a tutorial I found, but that didn't help at all. Any tutorials or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi everyone, i just bought the new Mac M1 Pro (16 gb Ram) and I'm testing out After effects. Surprisingly it is way slower than it was on my previous mac (a 2019 MacBook Pro). I really don't know what to do. At 1/4 preview it is as slow as ful res, and even after rendering it doesn't work. Anyone with the same issue ?

Hi, Today I noticed that my graphics card is old and Rotobrush makes computer slow.It's interesting to know if Rotobrush makes laptops with RTX 4090 and i9 or i7 processors slow too.Maybe somebody can share their experience?

Hey there,I'm wanting to link the end point of a given line path (created with a shape layer) to the center of a precomped image wherein if I move one of the images, the end point of the line attached to the image moves with it without readjusting the start point. Here is a picture of my current composition, if it helps. I'd like to link the line that goes from the Ashwaganda text to the Ashwagandha picture, where in the endpoint of the of line is at the center of the Ashwaganda picture. Thank you!   

I was working on a project in Premiere Pro 2023 that has a lot of VFX - to do this, I used a lot of dynamic link After Effects 2023 compositions in the Premiere Pro timeline. Somewhere along the way, I update Premiere Pro 2024 and After Effects 2024. After that, I open the Premiere project and all of the dynamic link compositions have gone offline. I open the AE project and there's an error that says "After Effects error: bad tracked memory ID (23 :: 33)". I click OK and it gives me an alert window which says "Encountered warnings while opening a project.1) After Effects warning: can not find source item for layer ID=1069; will replace with a placeholder." and repeats this many times over for dozens of layers, each with different ID numbers. The last warning line says "40) After Effects warning: your project file is apparently damaged (skipped sections: 1). Please save using a different name."Once I get into the project, many of the elements have been replaced by placeholders titl

I was trying to create a keyboard shortcut for setting my magnification view to 100%, but for some reason After Effects CC 2018 wont fit to 100%, only to 200%.Why doesn't the 100% option work via a keyboard shortcut, it always defaults to 200% when 100% is selected via the keyboard shortcut?Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong???
