After Effects

Hi there,I am using Adobe After Effects CC 2015.3, I am doing a project where I need to place a 3D Object in the scene, but there is a person moving in front of the camera, which is an issue, so either I could Key it out or make it a part of the video. So I decided to use masking and keep the person in the scene, but the the person will be moving in front of the 3D Object. I duplicated the footage and used Roto Brush method to Remove all the Background and keep the Person and adjusted it frame by frame so that he is in front of the 3D object but still distinct and looks pretty good. But there is a Problem, during the Composition every thing looks good, the person moving is perfectly keyed out and the scene is good to Render, But when I render using AE Best Settings and Lossless method, it shows some background (which should have been keyed out or Invisible) when the person comes in front of the 3D object.I have even tried Rendering the whole Composition using AE "Lossless with Alpha" m

Hello! I have an IPhone - After Effects problem.Thats why I need your help.So how can I rendering with the original quality?I tried a lot of settings. And I couldn't rendering as the same, original quality. Every time I just could a worse quality than the original.The original video is a HEVC file.I tried the 709 codec in lumetri settings and I tried the best quality rendering settings: in the H264 and the Apple Pro Res codec.

I'm quite sure this question has been asked and answered -- happy to look at any existing threads I've missed or expressions I may not have tried. Obviously, new to expressions here.  I'm working on a lower third that's made up of two text layers: Layer 1| Layer 2 Layer 1 has a different line weight and size than Layer 2.  I want to export a .mogrt where Layer 2's position will change, relative to the ending position of Layer 1.  in the .mogrt, source text will be editable in both layers. Thanks for any advice and patience with a simple question.

I am having the same issue as https://community.adobe.com/t5/after-effects/quot-after-effects-cannot-open-files-in-the-after-effects-project-format-quot/m-p/11836476   Not sure if this is an Adobe or Apple issue, or both. Happens in both After Effects and Premiere. The only way to open the project is File > Open Project... from within Ae/Pr, which requires me to navigate to the containing folder from the Open dialog window. Opening from File > Open Recent > also works. It's not a file-association issue; I've checked that. Even dragging the aep on to the Ae icon (in Dock or app switcher) doesn’t work. Sometimes restarting the computer will temporarily fix the issue. A while back, I solved the issue without restarting by going to System Preferences > Security > Full Disk Access > Enable After Effects. But that isn't working anymore. I've tried Repairing Disk via Disk Utility.I've tried

Hello everyone! May I ask something, so I did upgraded my macbook OS to Sonoma, and I see a lot of bug in my mac, I can't also access to AE 2020 so I was thinking to downgrade my macOS. Does my After Effect preverence still be the same? I mean all of the plug ins and all. Thankyou.

I tried various things, but I didn't succeed to turn on "preserveRGB" on on a footage item using extendscript. The following script doesn't work. It suppose to set PreserveRGB on on the selected footage item.     app.project.activeItem.mainSource.colorProfile.preserveRGB = true;     colorProfile always seems to be undefined, but the documentation state... ColorProfile.preserveRGB Description: A boolean value indicating whether the RGB values are preserved or not. Type: bool Access: Read/write.

I want to open pregenerated project and render it: aepPath = 'some.aep'; app.open(new File(aepPath)); p = app.project; queue = p.renderQueue; for(i=1; i<=queue.numItems;i++) { queue.item(i).applyTemplate('Draft'); queue.item(i).outputModule(1).applyTemplate('Draft'); } p.renderQueue.render();   It works perfect if i create project on windows pc, but if i'll create it on mac mini and try to render on windows pc using extendscript i receive this error:Failed at N/AThe weird fact if i'll stop script before 'p.renderQueue.render();' and put in console 'p.renderQueue.render();' and hit enter, render will start fine...Any thoughts?  ...UPDATE:it works if i remove `app.beginSuppressDialogs();` if shows dialog that font is missing when opening project, after clicking OK render starts fine...Also tried to remake queue by removing and adding same queue, but that didn't work either...

Hello! So ever since I updated to the latest version of AE, I am unable to open old files, created on the previous version. Instead I get this error. I need to be able to access those files! How can we fix this??? thanks in advance

Hi, I am trying to animate a logo. Evrything was perfect.  I wanted to creat some variations of color so I copied  all of the layers from main com to another comp, but when I do that one of the layers becomes invisible, I  dnt understand why is this happening. Please help me :'(  

When I use After Effects and put something in 3D, this appears, and then it closes automatically without first asking me to save  but if I convert a simple text into 3d it just crashes, what happens?It would be great if you could help me, I have to finish a client's project quickly, and 3D doesn't work for me.thanks!

Recently, After Effects has been giving errors with almost all video file formats.Does anyone know how to solve this issue?P.S.: I've already tried fixing it using YouTube tutorials (changing the file extension to .avi, running the video through Media Encoder, restarting the computer), and none of it helps.The Error:My AE version: 

hi,recently i've been struggling with the problem of not being able to select or move my footage in my timeline. It allows me to add footage and when i left click a couple of times on my footage it selects it but i'm still unable to move it then. I've reset and deleted my preferences file, restarted AE and i've restarted my mac. Nothing seems to help?

Looking to find a solution that will allow me to pass on to all comps in a project the same layout setup. I often get files from elsewhere and need to update the UI of the COMP panel. For example, this is what is in the AE project file:but here is how I work: Sometimes I get files from deigners where they have almost all columns visible!! So having to reorganize the numerous comps to this workingUI layout is tedious. Like in windows explorer, I want to update a comp to my UI layout of choice, then send that layout to all comps in the project file. And same thing would be cool for the COMPOSITION WINDOW, where same settings I have established (FIT TO 100%, AUTO, NO RULERS, (ALL VIEW OPTIONS)) ... get sent to all comps in the project. Has this been done yet Adobe? Anyone have a script that can manage this? SANTA!!!!!!

Hi Everyone, I have just bought a new laptop with reasonable hardware power.Lenovo 16" Legion Pro 7i.- 2.2 GHz Intel Core i9 24-Core (13th Gen)- 32GB DDR5 RAM- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 (12GB GDDR6) I am running After Effects 2024. I am working on a rotoscoping project at 4K resolution and to my surprise After Effects crashed multiple times, I got several low memory alerts, and when RAM previewing I had to lower the resolution to 1/4.Things got even worse when I had the good/bad idea of using the rotobush tool. That makes me wonder If my machine still lacks hardware power or After Effects last version is overheavy and unstable.Any thoughts about this?My Hardware isn't enough?System or software configuration could help?Thanks

Does anyone have fix for this issue?It looks like the drop shadow is causing this issue because if I turn shadows off black bars disappear. Thank you in advance!

This drives me crazy. Every now and then when I render something out of AE's native render queue, I find that the export has only rendered part of my comp. The vast majority of the time it renders fine, but then sometimes a few frames have cut off from either the beginning or the ending of my comp, and other times it's only around half the comp that has rendered. I've discovered that the problem is that in my render settings, sometimes "time span" has defaulted to "Custom..." rather than "work area only". When I change it back, it renders properly. This is quite annoying, because whenever it deciedes to default to this it feels rather arbitrary, and it is also so subtle that I often don't catch it until after I've sent it off to the client or something. Is there a reason it does this, and is there a way to prevent it so that I don't have to double check each and every time I render? It happens maybe 1 in 100 times. It's led to some very, very frustrating outcomes

So , when I import and audio in after effects and I play it , it's really weird and slow even 1 hour later . Can someone help me ? 

When writing a script panel,it is possible to dock the script panel to the workspace using "palette" parameters.However, it is not possible to collapse it with a double-click like the built-in panels,instead, it becomes maximized. How can I write the code,to achieve the functionality of collapsingand expanding the attached panel with a double-click, just like the built-in panels?

I am new so forgive me if this is a stupid question. I started a new video at 960x720. I imported an image, 960x720 and it will not fit the stage, there is an excess, see attachment, in red. Why is this and how could fix it? Thank you!

Hi I have been doing some very simple expressions like this to generate sin waves and add them. It works fine.  vel=100; amp=50 freq1 =1; freq2=0.9; freq3=1.1; x=time*vel; wave1=Math.sin(freq1*time*2*Math.PI); wave2=Math.sin(freq2*time*2*Math.PI); wave3=Math.sin(freq3*time*2*Math.PI); y= amp*(wave1+wave2+wave3)+thisComp.height/2-300; [x,y]; However, I would like to be able to have the value for y visible on the stage and updating as the animation goes on. I can't seem to find out how to do this. I guess it is something to do with dynamic text - but I can find how to set the styling but not how to set the actual value of the text. Maybe I am using the wrong search terms.... Could someone please point me in the right direction?  Many thanks
