After Effects

Hello, I just installed AE 22.5 native on Mac Studio M1 Ultra, and also updated Red Giant Universe to 6.0.1 After installing and updating, the RG Universe dashboard with presets do not display the presets. The dashboard opens, but it's empty. I've tried to unistall/install AE, Maxon app, universe itself, and nothing has worked. I contacted Maxon and they provided me with the following solution:  "Thank you for contacting the Maxon support team. Please go to this file, Macintosh HD/Users/USERNAME/Library/Application Support/Red Giant/Dashboard/Content/RedGiantContentCache.db, and delete that please.  Now Please attempt to use the Unvierse Dashboard again.  If this doesn't help, please use the Maxon App to uninstall Universe, then reinstall. "However, there is no "dashboard" folder and unistalling then reinstalling has not work. Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you!  

I changed the fps rate in the Preview panel.From 29.97fps to 59.94fps.And I did a preview.When I went back to 29.97, and did preview, appears this error, when i try make RAM Preview.It seems that fps with number integer works normal, because I've put in 30 fps, 25, 24, 15, and all work normal, the problem appears only when put in 29.97fps or 59.94fps.

Hi,I am trying to make a chart, everything is perfect except a tiny gap in-between the shapes.Math says, 77+6+5+12= 100. So if my trim path’s end value is set perfectly and each carries individually all those numbers I should have a perfect circle without any gap. What makes this gap exist? My math is correct so is the trim path value.Please guide me,  all I am  seeing is  birds and starts around my head..  

Auto Orient not working: I need to make a layer face the camera all the time. Does this setting require something other than rotation?

Hey I'm a total beginner at after effects but I ran into a visual continuity issue in premiere where the character took a bite out of a piece of fruit and it's now making it difficult to edit around.  Is there a way to add or copy the bite from one frame to another frame?  I'm hoping it's not as difficult as it could be haha!  The character does move the fruit slightly so there would have to be some motion tracking I would think.  Would be huge if there is a way to do so.  If someone could even just point me to a how to video it would be extremely helpful as I don't even know where to begin.  Thanks!

Hi! Thank you for seeing this post.I would like to know if there any way to set up color management programmatically, especially for OCIO. I've search for it in scripting guides and AEGPs, but it seems they only returning data. Or maybe it still doesn't have API for that? Currently I'm working on an automated workflow, and I would like to assign the color engine to OCIO, also with a custom config path.

I have an old mac (2015, OSX El Capitan 10.11.6), I was wanting to use ae 2018 to render using old plug-ins that arent compatible with later versions.My old subscription lapsed and I've just started a new one, and now ae 2018 wont start up on that machine. It offers a trial, and when I try to license it, it says my adobe id is not associated with a ae 2018 subscription. I used it up until some time in 2022, the only difference is the new plan, same ID. Any ideas, or is it time to give up the ghost?!

Hey,Hoping that I can get some help with a problem in AE when exporting. I'm experiencing quite a large colour shift on export, in that my exported file tends to loose some of their saturation and brightness. Everything appears to be a little washed out.I'm experiencing this problem regardless of what colour space I choose for the project setting or within the export setting. I was initially trying to export as a H.264 file, and thinking it was this, have exported it as a lossless file and then convert in quicktime. This still gives the same issue though.Also occurs if I turn off colour management on export completely.Would appreciate any assistance anyone can provide - it's driving me mad!Cheers,Paul

I'm trying to render an AE project in AME and for some reason the colors are always different.I read in CreativeCow a reference to an explanation here on this forum (that I can't find anymore):"There is no color management in Premiere Pro or the Adobe Media Encoder application.You can use the Color Profile Converter effect to do the color space conversion that would normally be done by the output module in After Effects.For example, you could create a new composition with nothing in it but an adjustment layer and a nested composition that is the composition that you want to output. Onto that adjustment layer, apply the Color Profile Converter effect and manually set up the color space conversion. Hi all, I'm sure there must be a way to do this but can't find a way/work it out.  I'd like a simple way of randomly mixing up the positions of the blocks but keeping within the square - like a jigsaw puzzle (shown below). I'm currently using keyframe positions and copy and pasting into each layer to mix them up but I'm hoping theres a way of using these keyframe positions as seeds and then randomly assigning to each layer?  If this isnt going to work is there another work around to keep the structure but jumble up the sqaures instead of copy and pasting the positions in manually? Thank you in advance.

I am currently working on a little animation. It's a liquid fall animation (red shape), that fill the black circle.Everything was like I wanted, but ever since I've added the Wave Warp Effect the Liquid Fall animation goes a little bit outside of the mask. In addition, there is a little gap on the edge of the workspace sometimes . Here you can see a image of my problem. Does anyone know, how can I solve this problem?

Hello, I am practicing wiggle experssion.  I  applied it  also in a path property and expected some movements like other properties did (scale, opacity, position, rotation etc). but path didnt move and AE shows errors that function is disabled.  what does it mean? what is function? why it works on others but not on path property?  and what does that error telling me?

With the latest version of after effect I can't play .movs with HAP1 codec. But if I use the latest release of AE2023 (intel version) everything works. I have a MBP14, M1 Max, 32GB.Does anyone know why?

When I import a larger image (e.g. 3840x2160) to my 1920x1080 project or composition, it does not show me my complete image and crops it without any warning.I want to use my full images without having a restriction on my composition. Can somebody help me? thank you so much.

I'm new to AE & watchng tuts on masking. The masking behavior I'm getting is different. I'm using AE2024 on Win10.When I create a mask (rect or pen tool - same result), everthing disappears except the mask. I'm attaching two jpgs. The first is before masking. The second is after masking. This is probably some basic setting I'm missing. 

Trying to use the point tracker in 2023 with modern 4k+ resolutions is a cruel joke.  I usually bail out to Mocha becasue its so incredibly slow. It takes 5-10 seconds for it to just calculate a single frame. Sometime you just want to track a point or feature in the scene and planar tracking doesn't really make sense. When I press the point tracker into service though I remeber that this thing hasn't been updated since before dual core processors in the early 2000s. I feel like the most it can handle with any sort of reasonable speed is 720p if your're lucky. CPU absolutely parked during this process. GPU at 0%.  

My After Effects CC 2019 was working completely fine. However suddenly when I closed After Effects it showed me a crash report. At first I didn't gave it much thought , until now that I have noticed that whenever I close After Effects, it always shows me the crash report

I have a whole project saved on OneDrive. When I try exporting the After Effects file with Media Encoder it won't even load in the app. When I save the AE project on my desktop the exporting does work in Media Encoder. There are a lot of individual files in my OneDrive that need exporting and I don't want to save them all to my Desktop first. Any ideas how I can fix this?

Hello, I am here because i am desperate need of help. I've been happening this problem with after effects 2020 I use a macbook pro M1. Everytime i open it up it shows-- Will be posted in photos above. As I am not sure on how to find these and how to uninstall these ''copies'' I've been looking everywhere, in every folder and theres nothing. Ive been trying for hours and hours. I dont know what the solution is here. Someone told me they might be third party and thats why? I dont know. But im hoping here someone gives me step by step on how to uninstall copies.
