After Effects

Hi,I am getting unexpected results when extruding a shape layer.Green Layer - What I wantBlue Layer - Slight distortion caused by extrusionI am trying to create an effect where my logo looks 2D when static but then animates in 3D space - The problem is that when I apply the extrusion the camera causes a slight distortion. I am guessing it has to do with the type of camera / lens I am using. If anyone could help, even suggest a tutorial or the keywords I need to research that would be amazingThanks  

Hello. I'm back to using After Effects after a bit of a hiatus, so maybe I've missed some strange new update on how things work. I'm using After Effects 24.0.2 on a MacBook Pro (Sonoma 14.0). First I positioned the asset where I wanted it to end up and added a position keyframe.Then I went to the place on the timeline where I want the asset to first appear and added another position keyframe and changed the values.I also added scaling from 0% (start position) to 120% (mid-position) to 100% (final position).I decided I wanted the asset to appear a bit later, so I moved the start of the asset and the position and scale keyframes a few more frames in. Problem 1:The position of the asset did not go in a straight line to its end position. I checked the Keyframe Interpolation and it was set to Linear. In trying to fix this, I deleted the position keyframes altogether to start over.Problem 2:Now there are no position keyframes, but the asset is still moving. The only thing that

After Effects updated to 23.6. Since then, anything being done in certain compositions makes the program crash after getting back to another composition. Running it in a Mac Studio M2 Ultra with 64GB RAM.   Title edited by Mod.

I've been working on a illustration in Ai (Adobe illustrator) so i can animate it on Ae (After effects) but everytime i save changes in illustrator can't save the file because after effects has it open, but how can i save changes without this issue? i've been doing the close and open software but that's a waste of time... any suggestions?

Hi i would like to know how to do a linear light rays effect to a text like similar to this :(Linear rays not radial cause I've tried the cc radial fast blur effect but it gives me rays that gose in every direction and i don't want that )

hi i try to export my after effects project from media encoder. I have tried all kinds of settings, but the result is not good. Picture seems to be little bit blurry. I insalled latest version of after effects and media encoder, but it did not help. Do any one have any tips what to do?

(...)/NomDuDossier"  (23 § 0) J'ai essayé de convertir mes images de .tif à .jpg. J'ai déplacé les images dans un disque dur. I recently have been getting a problem that whenever i double click a layer to open a layer panel to mask and do different things, whenever i click exit, the preview gets stuck on one frame. the timeline works well and the audio plays, its just that the preview is frozen. I have some third party plugins and im wondering if there the reason. 

Hey Guys, Just as the subject states, my Ae 2023 crashes and resets my laptop while the software is in use. I have been working on a wide range of projects and it continues to crash and reset my mac. Its starting to become incredibly annoying even more so during my work where I need to use Ae for my job. My max disc Space Cashe is 93GB and I have tried Emptying Disc Cashe, I have also uninstalled and reinstalled AE. I have not used any 3rd party plugins around or during the crash either and my mac is fully up to date. To be honest,  the problems started when I updated to the Ventura OS some weeks ago... Equip: Macbook pro 16inch 20192.3 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 4 GBIntel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB16 GB 2667 MHz DDR4 OS: Ventura - Version 13.0.1 Storage is 600GB free / 1TB Thanks

 Hello,I want to stabilize timelapse footage with the Warp stabilzer, the problem ist that it is also Tracking the clouds. So i delete the Tracking Points from the sky, like you can See in the picture. But i can only delete them frame by frame, which takes forever at around 1000 Frames. I want to delete all the Tracking points in the grey area For the whole clip. Thanks a lot

Two seperate shape layers staked on top of each other. The bottom is white, the stacked on top is black. The black shape layer has an mask set to Subtract ( I have also tested this with Add with invtered checked to the same result ).  The Mask Path property is animated to move left to right. When Mask Feather is set between 20 and 150 pixels you can see a hard line moving along with the mask as it moves. This only happens when the layers blending mode is set to Dissolve. All other blending modes you do not see this glitch / flickering effect. Please see the three videos attched below. Hey all,Looking for help on aligning two seperate text layers, both of which will be dynamic based on mograph input, to my comp's center.  In others words, I want to the two layers to be centered no matter what is typed in fields.  Any suggestions on building an expresion or script that could help me solve this?  

Apple M1 Max13.6.1AE 24.0.2I get an Expression error : "Error: internal error", when trying to get data from "dataValue([2,5])"works for every other dataValue.Worked in AE 23.6. 

I've been working on this project for a while, and all of a sudden yesterday the Render Queue stopped working normal. Whenever I click on it, it goes to a blank screen (see picture 1). It is not until I move the scroll abr on the right that it's shows my old render history, however, it starts from the first render I did, so I have to scroll all the way down to see the latest one (unlike it's usual default behaviour).This would be a minor inconvenience if it was just that, but the biggest problem comes when I try to send any comp to the render queue, the scroll bar doesn't go all the way down and I cannot see settings, nor change anything (see picture 2). If I try to click on render blindly I get the error: "The directory originally specified in the selected output module no longer exists”. This was on Windows 10, After Effects version 23.6, NVidia GeForce RTX 3090. After the problem occured I tried updating to v 24.0.2, reseting the user preferences, updating GPU drivers

Hi folks,  I am new to Aftrer Effects and this community. I recently started playing with After Effects. I have downloaded text templates from motion array and this is the second time i am editing one.  Previously i managed to export my editted text with transparent background using apple proRes 4444 XQ with alpha succesfully although it took me a long time. Now i am trying to edit some title sequences also from motion array.  I have changed the text but when i render i get a short quick video with nothing but a black screen. I have used render queue and media encoder with the same results.  Could this relate to my cahce not being big enough.  Many thanks for your help.

Ou encore il faut purger toutes les 5 secondes parce que ce carré a l'air de peser 1 terra à chaque fois qu'on le déplace. Ca devient franchement ridicule, vos logiciels ne savent plus gérer la ram c'est incroyable. Même avec des machines de guerre on galère.Media encoder : 9 fois sur 10 Ca galère avec le dynamic link, une chi*asse totale également. Reprenez-vous, faîtes remonter à vos chefs que là ça craint et que soit vous êtes sous payés, soit vous êtes sous compétents. Mais quelque chose ne va pas. Ca fait 10 ans que je paye 60 bal

as the title says…. how do i add a swatch library to after effects in creative cloud? i don't want to have to eye drop colors here and there, i want to keep a collection of my clients colorways. i saw the swatch script from video hive. is that good? does that only work with the said website? is there a way to customize color in that script?thank you in advanced!

I have been using this software for couple of years now. It is the most fluid animation software I've ever used.Why AE is heavily depends on the 3rd party plug-ins, scripts and extension to perform 100%?Why it is impossible to import Illustrator shapes as bezier paths directly withut using the 3rd party plug-in?
