Hi I have a Ryzen 1950x threadripper cpu with 32gb of ram and a solid state hardrive running windows 10 I just learned how to make a simple 3D text in after effects using an HDRI image to make the text shiny like metal but by the time I apply everything and try to animate it my ram usage spikes to 26gb and just stays there at first I thought it was because the composition setting is set to render timeline when idle so the green bar would always be updating as I made changes but after a while when everything was rendered out the 26gb of ram usage never goes down even when I leave the computer alone and just wait is this normal for a simple 3D text ? I understand after effects is a ram eater and needs a lot of it but I was just wondering if I have a memory leak or something else was up thanks in advance !

Hey gang.  Loooong time user (gosh i remember After Effects 4 I am old).So I'm on 23.6 and suddenly I can't select-all in the render queue and click to set all renders to the same output folder.  Now I gotta click each output one by one... or set up some sort of "output to" preset which is a pain and doesn't even work really if your output folders have different structures per project. Is there a reason we can no longer simply select all and click to set the output folder for everything?  This is the way it has worked forever and messing with output directories is the last thing I have time for on deadline... Thank you!  

I'm making a template for an adjustable lettering with a bounding box for each line. I'm almost done, but there's a final issue I just can't wrap my head around. I'm trying to use sourceRectAtTime to autosize the boxes and automatically distribute the layers vertically. To put it simply, I have a layer that is rotated and I want to parent it to another image, but the problem is that the layer gets skewed and messed up when it's made a child. I know the rotation is doing it because the image is normal when the rotation is 0.

I continue to have issues sucessfully completing Warp Stabilizer analysis with my projects. Sind AE does not crash or freeze, I have enable logging to see if that helps with troubleshooting this ongoing and very frustrating issue. I a have had issues with this with both Intel and Silicon Macs. Screen recording shows that I using latest versions of OS X and AE with a Mac Mini M2 Pro.

I have a problem everytime I use the  Rotobrush tool and I still don't know how to solve it. I finished rotoscoping the first frame of my video but when I try to move to the next frame or play the video to see if it holds, the clip freezes and then, when I come back to the composition, everything turns black and and on the layer window, it says that it's installing a propagation module of Rotobrush. I wait but nothing happens. At first, I thought it was because of my first clip. So, I changed it with another video with a lower resolution but it's the same problem. I use 8 Gb computer and I don't know if it is because of that I can't use the rotobrush tool correctly. I even deleted the cache files and made a few modifications, but nothing helped. I'm starting to think I need to buy a better PC but if there's a solution to this problem please, let me know ! It would be grateful.

Hallo, ich habe einen 40 Sekündigen Zeitraffer erstellt und mit den Verkrümmungsstabilisator stabilsiert. Nun trackt er auch die Wolken welche ishc bewegen und daher funktioniert der Verkrümmungsstabilisator nicht. Ich kann in jeden einzelnen Frame riengehn und die Trackingpunkte löschen, aber wie kann ich es umgehen, das ich nicht alle 1000 Frames einzeln antippen muss. Velen lieben Dank

Why is my time ruler showing like this now?And not like this?This happens with every new composition or file I tried to open, with old AE files it shows like the second photo.

I have downloaded version 23.6. I can't create a Solid Layer, an error ocurred. I have reinstalled and the error persists. I have downgraded to version 23.5.0 and everything works perfect.

Hi there! I'm trying to create a mogrt that highlights a word in a text layer by changing its colour and scale, following the rhythm of the speaker's speech. After I updated After Effects 2024, it did not open. I researched and followed the steps to give read and write permissions for the folders below, but it didn't work. /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/7.0/MediaCore/Users/[Username]/Library/Preferences/Adobe/After Effects/[Version] I also deleted and reinstalled it, but it didn't work either. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? 

Ich habe massive Probleme mit nicht wieder freigegebenem RAM in After Effects und Premiere Pro, wie es für frühere Versionen schon beschrieben wurde. (Habe die Posts alle schon gelesen). Es lässt sich nicht mehr vernüftig damit arbeiten! Kann ich Adobe direkt schreiben?? AE belegt in ca. 10 min. allen RAM (max. 52GB zugeordnet) und dann beschränkt sich die Vorschau auf 5 Frames und es kommt der Speicherwarnbanner. Alle Drittanbieter-Plugins rausgenommen, selbes Problem. Alle Caches und Speicher gelöscht, selbes Problem. Premiere frisst in ca. 15 min. den RAM (max. 52GB zugeordnet) plus sehr viel virtuellen RAM (320+ GB) auf und crasht dann. Drittanbieter-Plugins deinstalliert, selbes Problem. Neues Projekt anlegen, altes importieren, selbes Problem. Das alles passiert sowohl unter Ventura 13.4.1 als auch 13.5 und mit den beiden letzten AE Versionen 23.5 und 23.6. Mein Setup:Mac Studio M1 Max 2022, 64 GB RAM, Ventura 13.4.1 bzw. 13.5Premiere 23.5After Effects 23.5. b

could someone help me please? i just wanted to time remap the clip but every time i click on the graph editor its just a flat graph in both (speed and value) graph and it always highlights a graph from another comp

When I try to queue something from AE 2024 24.0.2 to Media encoder the same version is not working.

So basically i think my graph editor is like broken or something lol because i can no longer see the graph. yes, i have easy eased and yes, i have clicked on the keyframes but as i was tweaking the graph a bit it just disappeared. sorry if this makes like no sense at all, its hard for me to put it into words. Im using after effects 2020 by the way! ^.^  

Hi,I'm fairly new to AE. I am trying to bend the bevel of my text in this project, so it's angled like the animatic below. I cannot find any easy solutions for this online, so any help is appreciated, thanks!

Look at the photos from 1 then 2 then 3.  RGB + Alpha is greyed out unless I go to something else like AIFF then back to RGB + Alpha.  Why does it matter?  Because I cannot have the transparent background and use whatever I have w/ no background as an "overlay" which is the Whole point of this the AE project in the first place.

I'm a newbie using After Effects. My business partner recently quit on me and I am now trying to work off of the motion graphics she created in AE.With that said, I am trying to change an image but keep the same "Saber" effect. I know that you are supposed to click the layer in the timeline, hold down option and pick the replacement image in the project panel then drag to the layer in the timeline. The problem is I am trying to replace a .png (image/graphic) that is part of a Composition (in timeline). Now, I see that same Composition in the project panel.Is there a way to go into that Composition and swap out the image or do I need to somehow recreate that Composition?Thanks in advance for at the least, leading me in the right direction!

When I open AE 24 on my Apple M-2 laptop I get the message:to run After Effects in a compatible mode, choose Get Info in the application context menu and enable Open using Rosetta.I go to the AE app and right click on the app, go to Get info but when the screen comes up there's no reference to Rosetta. Howdie. I have a Layer (Bee) that is animated along a bezier path, using 'orient to path' to control rotations.I would like to be able to apply additional rotations and positional offsets its original path, to finess the bee's flight. The Transform effect is what is being used on this example tutorial, but the transform effect's anchor point and rotation don't seem to carried along for the ride with the layers Transform properties.  While I can offset the position ok with the effect, adding secondary rotation using the effect, uses the anchor point that remains offset. There dont seem to be any expressions being used in this example. Could spomeone come to my rescue? Much appreciated!
