After Effects

First week with AE 2025 and not every render, but consistently getting black or glictched (false color and occasionally inverted in Y images). in the viewport when rendering.   Rendered frames on disk look fine. Testing on MacOS 12.7 Intel, and MacOS 14.7 M1 Max anf M2 Max.  AE 24.5 and after on Intel had occasional viewport glitching and consistent had random frames were bad on disk, so this is an improvement - moving in the right direction.

After Effects 24.x, 25.0, and probably older releasesmacOS Ventura (13.x), Sonoma (14.7) When you drag a timeline column too quickly, multiple columns are moved instead of just the one you were dragging. See my attached screen recording and follow along:At 0:01 and 0:05, I drag slowly and everything works as expected.At 0:08 I drag the Render Time column quickly from the right-most to left-most position and then the Video-Solo-Audio-Lock and the Parent & Link columns have suddenly shifted. If you drag a column and quickly shake your mouse all around like a maniac, then you can end up shuffling all the columns.

New AE is crashing about 40% of the time when importing PS files, cleared prefs, and scripts. We aren't talking about anything big, it's simple files that import nicely on the previous version. Ryzen 9 9950x2x rtx 4090128 ddr5win 11

I often pre-comp stock footage (usually prores clips interpreted at 30fps) into 60fps compositions to apply frame blending before using the clip in my designs. Today's my first time in 2025 and when I've changed the comp with a duration of 06:20 from 30fps to 60fps it no longer automatically calculates a new duration based on the fps and remains at 06:20.Now the comp that used to be 6 seconds and 66.6 miliseconds long is 6 seconds and 33.3 miliseconds long and my original clip overshoots the comp length.Obviously I've identified the issue and can fix it but it ads another step to my workflow and will create confusion for people who don't work in different frame rates often so I hope this is not intentional

Hello Community,  in my company we often work with 3d renderings in ACEScg color space, combined with footage from other sources mostly in sRGB. I have set up the Project Settings in After Effects as described in Adobe Help, Color Engine: OCIO color managed, OCIO Configuration: ACES 1.2, 32 bits per channel, Working Color Space: compositing_linear: ACES-ACEScg, Display Color Space:ACES/sRGB.I set my ACES exr 3D renderings under Interpret Footage to compositing_linear: ACES-ACEScg and my sRGB png images to Output/Output-sRGB.Now when I view both in a composition, the highlights of the sRGB png lose information. In parts of the image where previously fine gradations in the highlights are now a plain white withe the value 1 as you can see in the attached image in this post.All further attempts with other settings in the OCIO plugin brought no success.To check if with the images are correcly I use Nuke. After Effects 23.2.1 (Build 3)Windows 10  Best Sven&

이번 업데이트 이후에 프리미어, 에펙 연동해서 작업을 할 때연결 된 컴포지션을 에펙에서 수정하면수정 된 내용이 프리미어에 적용되지 않고 처음 컴포지션을 연결시켰던 내용으로만 재생됩니다.뭔가 오류가 있는 것 같습니다.

Every time I use any of my animation presets that use an effect, the keyframes attached to the preset gets shifted a few seconds into the timeline and not where the playhead is - which is normal behaviour in AE 2023. I rely heavily on these presets with keyframes so I cannot update to 2024 until this is fixed. Has anyone else had the same problem?

After updating to AE24 I started to have two problems with copy/pasting effects in the Effect Controls panel:1. Copy/paste within a single layer no longer works — when I need to stack the same effect on a layer, if I copy effect it in the Effect Controls panel using Cmd+C and try to paste it on the same layer using Cmd+V it does not work anymore. For this one there's a workaround, as Cmd+D to Duplicate still works, but there's another problem, probably connected to it, which is...2. Copy/pasting effect from one layer to another layer that already has the same type of effect just overrides it. Say, if you have Numbers effect on Layer 1, copy it using Cmd+C in the Effect Controls panel, select Layer 2 which already has same Numbers effect applied with different params, and paste effect using Cmd+V — the parameters of existing effect get overriden with parameters of the pasted effect, while the expected result (and as it always used to work) — the pasted effect should become stacked as a

Hello, I have recently worked with a 3D scene and encountered an issue with the "Composition toolbar" where the buttons are off-screen, so I have to enlarge the composition panel to find the button I need. I’ve tried closing, hiding, or resizing buttons I don't need, but I haven’t found any way to do so. I also searched all over the internet, but there are no answers on this topic. Thank you.

Hi.  I am having a general visual update issue.  Trying to open a folder in the project panel, and I can't see the content of the folder. Sometimes it won't update at all. It's there, but visually, it's like a ghost of what was there before. It does the same when creating a new comp. Any new action doesnt show. Sometimes the scroll bar will not appear at all on the right and I can't navigate the project.  It's there but visually, it's like a ghost of what was there before.  Happens in the comp panel as well.  Sometimes in the viewport, I need to change frame so it updates to the recent changes. Happens on and off and appears to be random. Same issue in versions 24.6.2 and 24.6.3 Windows 11 homeNvidia RTX 3090 driver 565.90Windows is up to date. Any idea how to solve this ?Thanks ! 

  First of all, thanks for making my experience smoother by not allowing my usual account, linked to my Adobe subscription, to search the forum anymore. That’s been incredibly helpful.Since the last After Effects update, when it crashes, the entire screen turns black, forcing me to restart my computer. With the previous version, at least I could click through countless "OK" pop-ups—each triggered by After Effects trying to handle one of its nullptrs—and salvage my work, even though it would crash every 5 minutes without any clear reason. Now, instead of just dealing with frequent crashes, the entire system goes down. I guess we’re making progress?Any plans on frying my graphics card soon? Because at this point, the carelessness is pretty evident, so why not take it a step further? And before the usual “It’s your hardware/setup” deflection, I’ve got several other resource-intensive programs installed, all of which run just fine. The only ones consistently crashing are Adobe pr

When using after effects and premiere pro i get this error when i start it up and my viewport is fully black. It keeps happening is there a solution?

Upon trying to quit several Adobe programs (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Media Encoder) on my PC, the programs fail to quit promptly and usually give a "Not Responding" message from Windows.   Once it's close either through quitting in task manager or finally closing itself, the program continues to run in Background (as seen on Task Manager) and continues to use RAM, though the CPU usage is 0%.    All Adobe software has been replaced with the newest versions of software.   Any ideas?

You enable full screen playback and hit space to play, then space again to stop it playing fullscreen, the entire after effects interface refreshes completely and seems to cycle through every open composition and briefly shows the background apps behind AE and everything flashes blindingly bright for about a second. For no reason. This has been bugging me in after effects for years and years. Surely its possible to fix this? Its easy to repro. Just play any footage fullscreen then stop playing it. (Working on windows 10 on a dual-screen setup)Also re-iterating, please, please, please please please can we have a black background on full screen playback too. Thanks!R.

When attempting to render to a UNC path the Render Queue removes the first \ (backslash) of the path, resulting in an error message. We mainly work on server that we access using UNC paths. Opening and working with the project works fine. Saving works fine. But when attempting to render we run into problems. We can navigate to the correct folder, and set a file name. But when pressing render we get the attached error message.  Opening the output module reveals that the path now lacks the first \ (backslash) in the \\ UNC path. See screenshot. After Effects 25.0.0 (Build 53)Windows 11
