After Effects

Is there a way to take a precomp and eliminate it and simultaneously move all the elements within it up stream to the parent composition while maintaining all keyframe data?Funny enough, I've never had to do this until now, but another way to ask this is: can one simply move items out of a precomp into its parent?Thanks forum.

my project use deep glow and some color key effect, i edited on quarter resolution but whenever i change to full its getting flicker? anyone know how to deal with?

Hi, Is it possible in After Effects to change color of the text then goes back to its original color after the word was mentioned by the audio script? It's like a karaoke style but instead of staying to one color following the script. It should go back. In After Effects when I click on the extension to try to open it, the extension does nothing does anyone know how to fix this. And i'm on version 18.2.1 if anyone asks.

Intel i9 13900ksRTX 409096GB of DDR5 6000Mhz RAMSamsung 990 Pro After Effects it constantly crashes.  tried reinstalling After Effects, installing older version, clearing cache and all other settings. I've reinstalled video drivers and older video drivers,  

after effect used to re link all the missing files as a batch - now i have a new macbook pro and it relink only one file each time and not automatically, do you have a solution for that bug?

Everything was going okay, I made the best edit of my life and then when I opened the project later the program freezes and stops responding for a while and then, I get this stupid error and can't find a way to fix it. I'm really close to finishing this edit and want to get this project done but this error's stopping me. PLEASE HELP ME FIX THIS, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!😭😭😭If this error cannot be fixed let me know if there's a way to get rid of the S_TimeSlice's used in this project so I can continue the proejct without this effect, thank youuu!!!

Hello, I have installed after effect 2019, made some video and began rendering in quicktime (there is no H264) after rendering the video there is only black sreen and music sound, no image or video.what is wrong does anyone know?thanks

Hey guys,since my last update to AE 25.1.0 the possibility of exporting WebM-Files via MediaEncoder (v 25.1) has dissapeared. My collegues still have it. There used to be a downloadable plugin which some (not all) of my collegues needed to install in the past. This plugin is not available via AdobeCloud any more.I do not understand the whole codec-chapter in detail (e.g. why are some codecs available for local rendering why some others are for ME) - simply pushing the button was - and still is - fine for me so far.Can anyone help? I've been using camera projection in After Effects for years--only when I tried to implement it using the process I've always used with AFX 2025, it no longer seems to work?  And when I do a search (pretty much everywhere--YouTube/Adobe Community/Google), the only references I can find are referring to the earlier method I've always used with earlier versions--or there are reference to a 3rd party plugin to accomplish this.  Is anyone else encountering this?

For the past month or so every time I go to clear my disk cache AE is claiming that it's empty.  "Are you sure you want to delete all files (0kb) from your disk cache" I have tried reformatting my cache drive, i've deselected and reselected the drive in the Media & Disk Cache settings. I just dont get what's going on and if it's affecting my performance. AE 22.2.1 (Build 3)Macbook Pro M1 Max running Monteray 12.2.1 Screenshots:   

Every time I open AE, passing a while, CTI AND PTI just stop moving, so the preview keeps playing, but only PTI and CTI don't move, I reset AE, my computer, preferences , but nothing is working permanently. Can anyone help?

Hi gang; I am coding a relatively simple plugin with basic particle effects. At the moment, I have sliders that can rotate my around my particles but I would like to use the After Effects 3D camera since that's what it's for. I have gone through the Resizer project and I have successfully pulled the camera and light info. I also carefully read through this thread as well: https://community.adobe.com/t5/after-effects-discussions/glator-for-dummies-and-from-dummy/m-p/6930311 I see that using the camera matrix, I can pull the camera X, Y and Z coordinates using: matrix.mat[3][0]; matrix.mat[3][1]; matrix.mat[3][2]; I can't find anywhere in the documentation how to pull the remaninig info, like orientation. If I follow the GLater example, it suggests orientation would be: matrix.mat[0][1]; matrix.mat[1][1]; matrix.mat[2][1]; But that returns floating point data. Additionally, taking a look at the camera target, the GLater examples show: matrix.m

When you run After Effects, OS_ViewContainer appears together. What is OS_ViewContainer?

I tried to make a transition like in the video-link below. But in my project, the motion blur doesn't work like in the video. HiI'm just starting to play with the AE SDK after a good few years away from it. I was looking for the old AE SDK forum, but it seems to have gone - very sad, so much useful reference material gone from there. Anyway, I have been playing with particle and fluid flow simulations and thought it might be interesting to have a play with them in an after effects plugin.The Stardust and Trapcode particular both seemable to create 3d clouds of particles that the camera can move around and through. I wondered what part of the SDK makes that work? Unfortunately the move to online docmentation for the SDK makes it really hard to search and I'm having no luck. Any comments on 3d and the SDK to put me on the right track would be welcome. thaksPhil

Hello, i would like to do the same glitch effect that there is on the battlefield 6 logo.My try is that i added a displacement map of the glitch layer (with fractal noise) on my Text layer, as you can see in the attachement, the original logo (bottom) has not the glitch effected everywhere, only on some part on each letter, somes seems almost not affected by the glitch (letter E or F). Also glitch affect only the left side of letters (letter T).On my test, displacement map affect font everywhere, how to add effect only on some part of the typo like in original logo ?

Hi gang; I know how to checkout masks from the layer the effect is on, but I would like to be able to do that from another layer. I have seen this from a few other plugins so it seems like it's possible. This would allow me, I assume, to checkout paths as well (as opposed to just masks), correct? There are interesting things paths can do like animated squiggly lines that masks cannot. I searched through the example projects but didn't see any examples on how to do this. Does anyone have any insight or code snippets they are willing to share? Any limitations or issues in checking out another layer's paths / masks? Thanks,-Richard

Hey everyone,  Mogrt type files are not supported for import intro a Creative Cloud library. A month ago this didn't work, then a week later, halleluja, it worked! This was an easy workflow for us because we worked with several people on the same project. And now... well, it's broken again!!Does anybody know when this issue is going to be solved? Or how I can address this issue and whom I have to ask this?
