Hi, I'm noew to After Effects.  I have multiple dust spots on some clips and have been using masks with content-aware fill to fix these.  Its been working great but on one clip somehow all the dust spots move in tandem partway thorugh the footage.  I know how to animate a single mask to folow a dust spots as it moves (Ive been doing this manually by adding keyframes as the video image behind the dust spots is too disriptive to use mask tracking). My question is, since they are all moving together, how can I apply the animation of one mask to other so they move in the same way realtive to each inital starting point?  I thought maybe "copy with relative properties link" migh be it -- but that didnt work. There are dozens of these masks --one for each tiny dust spot... so it would be helpful if I could apply this movement pattern to all at once.  Thanks for any suggestions!

Hello there,So, I'm a stupid idiot, and I imported all these TIFF sequences at 30fps and then did all of my VFX work for the client in 30fps in comps that are 30fps with rotoscoping frame by frame over many layers in 30fps timelines.  So actually the client is using 23.976 and now I need to make this all 23.976.  I'm fixing it temporarily by making new comps that are 23.976 and putting in the 30fps comps in there and stretching it so it's playing the same number of frames, but at 23.976.  But is there any way to convert all of my working comps and assets to 23.976?  Or do I just have to stick with this workaround for now?Thanks,Gavin

Beginner here, I was trying to understand keyframe interpolation and how it affects the graph in the graph editor. I made a simple motion animation, where an airplane moved from one point to another in a straight line. Created two keyframes at t=0 and t=3s, and by default the interpolation between them was linear. On the graph editor the value graph looked like this: x values went from 200 to 1500 in 3s, y values stayed the same (as there was no motion in y). I selected the two keyframes on the timeline (which were looking like diamonds) and then right clicked -> keyframe interpolation, and changed the temporal interpolation to Bezier. This changed the keyframes to hourglass icons on the timeline. However, when I opened the graph editor the value graph was exactly the same as was for the linear interpolation. I was expecting it would change to the curve that you get when you "ease in" and "ease out". Sure I'm able to make the graph look like how I want to by going to

I have an After Effects project that I am unable to open. When trying to open the file, After Effects freezes with the "Open Project" dialogue box, but nothing happens. This started happening today, after using Dynamic Link to link a Premiere Pro project with the After Effects project. There didn't seem to be any issues (I was able to incorporate some of the Premiere Pro clips into the AE project) until I closed the project and later tried to open it again. Now it won't open at all (AE freezes). Unfortunately, the auto-saves don't help as I can only open ones from the day before (which means a lot of work is lost). I tried creating a new project and importing the problem project there, but AE freezes when I try to do that as well. It also didn't help having the Premiere Pro project opened first, then opening the AE project.This is the first time I've had this issue, and also the first time I've used Dynamic Link in an After Effects project. I get this error when importing an image sequence in to After Effects 2020 (Version 17.0.4 (Build59)). The funny thing is that it works just fine when importing the very same image sequence in the previous version of After Effects (Version 16.1.3 (Build 5)) ... This means I can't use the latest version of After Effects, since I work with image sequences all the time. Have anyone else encountered this problem and/or have a solution or workaround?

Hi !I am new on after effect. I am trying to create a simple animation of a loading bar. I've watched a handful of tutorials and they all manage to do it in a few clicks. But even when I do exactly like them, something is wrong with mine. I created a rectangle shape and used trim path to slowly make it appear, from left to right, just like in the videos. But mine will start from the right and fill up weirdly ( see the picture ).Does anyone have an idea why it's doing that ?Thanks in advance.

Speech Recognition works perfectly in a regular browser but fails inside the After Effects CEP panel.I’ve tried:Web Speech API (requires internet)Vosk (offline solution)Proper folder structure and permissionsInstalling in the correct CEP directorySetting PlayerDebugMode=1 in the registryBoth methods give errors when accessing the microphone from within After Effects. The extension itself loads, but speech recognition won’t initialize.

  Hi, I want the wiggle expression to repeat the bigger scale in a non regular basis, But the wiggle only makes the star bigger once in the entire 30 sec long comp! How should I write the expression so trhat AE can understand what I want. Thank you. Please guide me.       

Latest installs of AE have been absolutely terrible when scrubbing the timeline. Even with fully rendered RAM preview (green line all the way) it does not scrub properly, frames jump forward and backward, to the point where it's frankly unusable. This happens in comps with nothing but pre-rendered footage, as well as in comps with multiple layers of graphics. Happens with the cache empty, happens whether adapative resolution is on (which I hate because it defeats the purpose) or off. If anyone can offer some insight into what might be the problem and how to fix it, I'd greatly appreciate it. This is so aggravating, I feel like Adobe has done nothing but make the playback experience worse and worse with every release (I've been using AE since v3.1). My system specs are below, happy to share my application prefs if that helps diagnose the issue. Hey!I'm working on a 2020 M1 Mac Book Pro with After Effects 22.5 installed. Whenever I try to collect a project, the files within the footage folder are all 0KB.When I open up the project I get an assortment of error and warning messages such as this   Really not sure why this is happening – I've never had this issue before  

 In my version of After Effects, I cannot find the Auto Trace option. I want to create a layer to apply an effect to my logo. I need a layer that will allow the effect to recognize the anchor points of the logo. I’ve tried a few workarounds with Illustrator and the Brush Tool, but nothing seems to work as expected. The program should automatically recognize the logo and create a layer with a mask around it. Could someone please help me with this? Here’s the logo I want to trace and create a mask around. (I have a german Version of After effects) this is the Logo I want to Auto trace  

I recently made a plugin that oscillates over-time. I got 2 main issues with it: 1. The animation doesnt restart when I cut the layer.2. It gets completely corrupted if I apply it on a layer that starts from like the 3rd second (from what I tested). The idea is that it gets corrupted (acts weird) if I apply it on a layer that doesnt start from frame 0. Is there any simple fix to this or I must use AEGP suites (LayerSuite9, PF_InterfaceSuite1, etc...). Am I missing something about how time works?Also, I have issues with GuidMixInPtr.

Hi!I imported into After Effects an OBJ image that I made in Illustrator. I can see the image in the project panel in after effects but when I bring it to the composition it's not visible there.Can someone explain what I have done wrong 🙂 I have version 25.2.2 of after effects

J'ai regardé quelques tutos ou il y a l'option ' color change' à chaque fois. Mais la en francais il est introuvable.. J'ai essayé ' changement de couleur' . Whenever i start my AE 22, a pop up screen appears  that says  "After Effects can’t continue: unexpected failure during application startup".

I want don't want to see after crash after effects showing Crash Repair Options, becuase i am rendering video via CEP panel extension using extended script. But when there is promblem or stuck for long i will kill after effects process automatically. but when it restarts it shows Crash Reopair Options, this stops me from automating the task. how to supress this dialgaue or remove any crash file automatically before opening after effects after crash?  

Hi, i am working on green screen interview shot in UHD 4.2.2 10 bits . My computer has rtx 3080 amd ryzen 9 5900 and 48 GB Ram 2700mhz. I cut the ITV on premiere and deleted the green screen in AE. the thing is, that the ITV last over 6-7min (at 25fps) i know i should not work with footage that last too much like this on ae BUT the composition has: 1precomp made of 2 layer of background. This precomp has: lumetri color (changed a bit the WB), a bit of chromatic aberation from red giant Universe suite and a lens blur. And my character (shot on green screen) has keylight, spill suppressor, drop shadow, lumetri color. Thats it. There is overall 2 precomp and AE tell me that i need 1hours for rendering but, after 2hours rendering, still saying 1h and even 2h. It render maybe 1min/frame or more. Its horrible. I tried to render precomp separatly, same problem(I already had gpu acceleration, multi frame rendering activated and allowed AE to use all my ram) So whats wrong with this help p

Hey! I just finished building my brand new PC yesterday. It’s a huge upgrade from my last PC, yet After Effects is underperforming my past computer. Specifically in moving things in the composition, GPU acceleration, and render times.My specs areIntel Core i9-12900k 32GB of DDR5 RAM Radeon 7600XT 2TB SSDBut my workflow and render times are underperforming my previous 2060, 16GB of RAM, i5.Somebody please help! It’s so frustrating 😕😕

As soon as I link my layer to a null object, it disappears from the screen. I've played around with view and opacity and nothing works. I can not find anything relating to this issue online, what can I try?

After closing After Effects at the top of my desktop bar, I noticed a purple icon with the message 'Adobe After Effects is capturing screen'. Does anybody know what that means and how to turn it off? The AE is not running anymore, but the icon is still live. It bothers me as I don't know why. I did not intend to record my screen so I would be very grateful for any suggestions on how to deal with this.
