After Effects (Beta)

Hi,I build extensions for the adobe suite. As of AE 23.1 and 23.2 my select menus are not working in that when I click on them the options do not become visible. On 23.0 and on Premiere Pro the same extensions and selects work as expected.I've tried isolating the issue by using plain html selects in plain extensions with no JS or JSX and minimal HTML but keep getting the same results.Is this repeatable on your end or is it just on my system with my setup?

When slecting and moving keyframes in the timeline, there's a lag and "stickiness" where they will continue to move with the mouse instead staying in place. 

From the very beginning I thought the properties panel was pointless.One thing that would make it somewhat usefull is apart from showing ordinary transform propertiesit would also show Essential properties for a selected precomp if it has any.We can access Position Rot Scale and Opacity with key triggers, so they are never out of reach, but the Essential Properties always take a lot of clicking to reach - if we could have access to them through the properties panel it would be awesome.

I tried fbx and GBL and still doesn't work

what's this all about? Why no further explanation?

16 Days ago the beta was working fine - but trying to import models into it now all models show up like a box. Any reason why? fbx is showing up like the attachment below obj and glb files are not showing up at all

Hi, the new ocio color management looks great, but there shoud be an option for the "info" panel to also show the view-transformed colors and not only the "raw" ones...the same goes for the color picker, so options if the colors will show up view-transformed or working-space-transformed...

Starting with AE Beta 23.0x35, we’ve included 51 new animation presets. The full list is shown below. Please try them out and let us know what you think.   We are also interested in any feedback on the name of the presets, their categorization and whether we should extract these 51 into their own top level folder to make them easier to find. If you have other areas or ideas for presets that you would like to see, please also let us know.   This is the first time in 18 years that AE has included new animation presets and we do have more to come in a future update. We are also working on refreshing the existing 564 animation presets to fix resolution issues, replace deprecated effects, make them easier to configure and modernize their look. We hope this adds more value to your day to day experience with AE.     

Hey,contrary to what other people are saying, the built in camera tracker is pretty good - probably half of all  3D tracking I'm already doing inside AE and not only for compositing, we're actually outputting the camera to 3D packages so thumbs up for that.The only thing that is painfully missing is the ability to help the tracker with manual tracks.There are moments when the autotracker just can't find enough tracking markers in a frame to get a solid 3D solve.In these case in other software we track some manual trackers and tell the solver to use these.Also all manual trackers have a higher trust value from the solvers than automatic trackers, so whenever a secene is busy and there are a lot of random trackers - if the solver gets a couple of manual tracker it knows that they are the ones showing the real motion and that it can disregard the autotrackers that move compeltely different.From a UI perspective I think there's no point overcomlicating this - add a layer selector and

I'm having issues with this. The roto brush will only propagate half of the clip and then it just stops. I realized the end of the clip needs some touching up but I can't even get to that part because it stops propagating around the halfway mark and all I see is a black screen. I try to go frame by frame but it doesn't even load anything besides the black screen after the halfway point. How am I supposed to edit the mask if it won't even let me get to that point in the clip? It's only a 14 second clip as well, so it's really frustrating. I've tried for hours to see if it will continue propagating so I can access that part of the mask to no avail. The green bar showing the propagation just stops after a while and all I get later in the clip is that black screen so nothing is letting me edit the mask. I have a decent computer but this is definitely eating up all my RAM, but what's the point of it doesn't even allow me to correct the mask? If there are any fixes o

Has anyone else come across this?AE won't start just keeps erroring this and creating dump files on desktop 😕😕 Been testing the Beta since it was open to public, first time something like this happend. I thought maybe it was a faulty build they released but in the last week there were already two new updates and the error is still showing 😞

Steps to reproduce:1. Set something rendering in AE (or let AE do pretty much anything that takes more than a few seconds)2. Do something else in another app while AE is thinking (eg. carefully trim the out-point of a clip in Premiere, or type an important email in Chrome)3. In many cases, I need to delete a lot of 2D tracked points befor solving the camera.Please make it easy to suspend solving - saves a lot of power and performance.

This happens often when openning older projects.It's easy to just click on the output, it will automatically go to the closest directory that exists and you can basically set a new output directory.But if I have 20, 30, 40+ renders from that single project, I'd prefer to just recreate the output folder structure that the render jobs expect.And here lies the problem.Is there any way to check what was the original output path?- the output to field displays only the file name, or last folder if render to seperate folder was checked- there are no tool tips on the path or output UI elements- it doesn't get reported in the error log because the render process doesn't even start if you have a job with missing directory in the job que- also F you for saying that I have a job with an output directory that does not exist, but you don't say which job it is - the entire project won't render because one of 50 render jobs has an invalid output directory So first: can we please get a tool tip on

In a big project... with hundreds of comps, copying a few layers inside a comp to paste into another is quite laggy.

When the first Beta was released I was able to import scanned rooms/floor pans - the new update seems to have changed how object backfaces are dispayed and the room can no longer be viewed from the 'outside' - is there a workaround?

Thanks for working so hard on this guys.  I love beta on my M1.  I haven't had any issues until the last couple updates including the new release. Mostly text and graphics issues.  Need to close down and reboot.  But text change propogation is real laggy.   I was wondering if you are optimizing for Ventura and I just need to update from Monterey.  I've avoided doing so in case of issues.  But if you guys are optimizing forward for Ventura, I'll update if you think that will help.  Thanks.

When importing an ae project, hitting cancel creates a cascade of errors and unlinked missing files to appear in the project window

Steps to reproduce:1. Set a comp to Cinema 4D renderer2. Add some text3. Make it 3D, extrude the text and add some bevel4. Add different colours to the front and bevels5. See those lovely colours6. I change my work station GPU to MSI 3060 (12GB). I update my after effects beta to last version (23.1.0 66 build).Specs. Windows 11, 32gb RAM, CPU 11700kFAfter rendering or before rendering after effects reload (or reboot) my GPU. Only relaunching the app is helping. Maybe the problem is, what after effects use 100% of GPU or something like that.Maybe the problem is that i use Red Giants plugins (colorista + looks). Please fix this bug.
