After Effects (Beta)

Hello, I have AE comps imported to PR (2020, not beta) timeline and everytime I update and save any comp in AE, all the comps in the PR timeline will turn offline. My temporary solution is to relink the media. Does anyone know hwo to fix this? Thanks.
I'm using the latest version of AE, Beta 2023.0.0. that was just released days ago. And while the selectable track mattes are amazing, one issue I've run into is that in the Speed Graph, when you stretch the speed handles to ease the speed, you see no discernable difference. The speed curve stays the same. After I extend the right keyframe's speed handle to have that Vox-like speed effect, the shape of the speed curve doesn't change at all. Is this normal or is it a bug? Has anyone else run into this issue or is there some new setting I'm not aware of? The curve also used to be on the top and is now on the bottom.
Pressing Escape generates an error: Invalid camera view index( 26 :: 327 ) ...which is odd.System info Application: After Effects (Beta) v23.0.0.45 OS: Windows v10.0.19044, RAM: 127.92 GB GB, CPUs (logical): 32
Hi, i am using the beta specifically for a project taking advantage of the new Track Matte feature as i have a ton of layers.Unfortunately, i just tried to parent 4-5 layers Track Matte to another layer with the pick whip for the track mattes but it only link the first selected layer. as opposed to normal parenting, which lets you parent all selected layers in one drag of the pick whip. This is a must as after pick whipping all my layers one by one, i realized i track matted it to the wrong layer, and had to do them all again, one - by - one. This would be a nice fix to have soon, Thanks! 🙂
It's a tiny thing, but I pretty much laid it out in my Subject line. Amazing work. I LOVE IT Keep up the amazing work. Thank you.
Hi all! I'm posting to let you know that we will update our system requirements with the next major release of our video applications. This includes the 23.0 versions of After Effects, Audition, Character Animator, Media Encoder, and Premiere Pro. We update our system requirements each year, which allows After Effects to take full advantage of these platforms and helps ensure optimal performance for you. This change goes into effect with next week's Beta builds (week of August 22). Minimum OS Requirements To run After Effects Beta version 23.0, Mac users need to be on macOS Big Sur (version 11) or later. Windows users need to be on Windows 10 (64-bit) v20H2 (or later) or Windows 11. We recommend running our applications on the latest operating systems: macOS Monterey (version 12) Windows 10 (64-bit) v21H2
Ctrl + Alt + Home is not working for the Center Anchor Point in Layer Content.I've tried changing out the shortcut to different keybinds but nothing seems to be working besides manually eyeballing it. Shapes seem to be the only thing that work with the shortcut but when it comes to masks, it no longer works. I've tested on solids, adjustment layers, footage, as well as nested compositions.
There is a bug happening on shutdown in AE 23.0 beta builds that might cause AE to crash on startup the next time you run AE. If that happens, please delete your beta preferences. You can do that by: Windows: Navigate to C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\After Effects (Beta) and deleting the 23.0 folder. MacOS: Navigate to \Users\{username}\Library\Preferences\Adobe\After Effects (Beta) and deleting the 23.0 folder. The preferences will be recreated on the next start up of After Effects. Please post back if you continue to have issues with AE startup after performing these steps.
Version: 23.0.0 (Build 11) This happens
Any idea what these are meant to do? Also, when you initially open the dialog, the first control you click makes the Quality/Resolution/Frame Rate controls re-arrange themselves into a different order (Framerate moves to the top)
Simple as that. I tried to reinstall couple of times but nothing changed, AE wont open
Starting with Beta build 23.0x6, the Composition Presets list has been overhauled to make it easier to find the more commonly used presets. We have also removed the NTSC and PAL related presets and added a set of Social Media ones for networks such as Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, Instagram, etc. The new list will be created the first time you install and run a 23.0 Beta build. Migrating Existing Custom Presets This change of presets is a full replacement of the old preset list, and your existing custom presets will not be migrated over automatically. You can either rebuild and save any composition presets or migrate your existing presets manually using the following example as a guide. I have a composition preset called “My Custom 1749x984 Preset” which I want to migrate. Install and run After Effects 23.0x6 or above, then close After Effects to ensure the new composition presets list has been written to disk. Open the Adobe After Effects 23.0 Prefs-indep-compositi
Hello. Loving the beta for the past few weeks. But when I upgraded today, I could only get ram previews to work new projects. Old projects yield: "After Effects (Beta) error: Cached Preview needs 2 or more frames to playback" This seems to be a very old bug wich has resurfaced. I purged all, increased cache size, trashed prefs... Restarted. No luck. Same project/comps ram preview correctly when I launch 22.2.0... even when current and beta AE are launched concurrently. AE (beta) 22.3.0 build 90Apple M1 Max, 64 GB RAM, MacOs 12.2.1
In the "Based on" dropdown, I cant select the option word. I made a GIF for better undestanding
Right clicking on Columns (modes, switches, parent and link etc) does not do anything anymore (still works in the previous version)
Greetings! After Effects is a BIG application. Here on the After Effects development team, we know that when we introduce a new feature it can sometimes become lost, like trying to find a newly sprouted tree in the forest. We do our best to announce new features via Adobe.com and our social media accounts, but the best way would be for After Effects itself to tell you what's new and changed. Starting today in After Effects Beta, version 22.3 build 72, you will see new notifications when you click on certain parts of the UI. We call these coach marks, as they can help point you towards new features, introduce you to changed functionality, or even help you improve your workflow. Right now in After Effects Beta, you'll see just a few coach marks sprinkled around After Effects that point you towards some of the newer changes to rendering performance and 3D workflows. What we'd like to know from you is:Do you like having these little pop-ups tell you about what's n
This happened to me when I imported an mp4 file (don't know the codec exactly, but it's a very compressed one for sure) When I set the blending mode to Add it got a couple of glitches where it jumps to another frame for a couple of frames. I applied time remapping and it fixed the issue. here's a video demonstrating the glitch
As announced back in May, we’ve added Keyframe Color Labels to After Effects. Right-click on any keyframe(s), select ‘Label’, and choose the color you want assigned. Choose ‘Edit Label Colors…’ at the bottom of the Label list if you want to change those default colors. Use ‘Select Keyframe Label Group’, to have that color label be the basis for a selection (also available via scripting hooks). From the feedback we have gotten so far, we’ve been adding updates and fixes along the way. Now we want to know from you, our beta members, whether you think Keyframe Color Labels are ready for primetime. In your AE Beta build, click on the flask with the blue dot in the upper right: In the What’s New in Beta panel that comes up, select ‘Rate features’ on the left. This gives you an option to say whether you think Keyframe Color Labels are either ‘Not ready yet’, or ‘Ready for release’. There is also space to leave any comments you may want to add: As always, thank
Hi everyone,I'm going crazy about this and I hope someone could help me.As in the title, I'm using a Macbook pro 16 gb M1 and my after effects is letteraly unusable. Now I'm on a project that uses Animation Composer preset and I can't see the preview at all. I tryed to open the same project on another Macbook pro (2019) and everything goes easy. I comparated the render, memory, cache storage, preview settings, on both computers and everything seems to me ok and the same, but I can't see if there's someting I'm missimg or what. I only notinced that in my new computer when I press the spacebar for preview the cache blue/green bar becames uncolored, and restart the green from the start point. Then green go slow slow slow and stop. I'm not super expert on setting, so something maybe make no sense, but perhaps it could be helpful to understand what's wrong.I have also read that many people are having issues with the native Mac M1, so at least I would like to understand if it
Like the new feature you added with moving between keyframes only on selected layers. I noticed a slight bug that it only works if you are on the AE default keyboard shortcuts and disappears if you have custom ones. I have some pics to show what I mean. Any idea around this?
I am a multibyte language(Japanese) user and change the language settings to English by using ae_force_english.txt.In the latest version, a dialog appears at start-up and AE doesn't launch.(Windows 10, version 22.6x9)
Good afternoon! As of After Effects 22.6 Beta (build 11), we have fixed a situation where starting a preview could cause After Effects to purge previously rendered and cached frames in front of the CTI, creating a need to re-render them during playback. The issue presented as slow playback even though green cache markings were present as the green cache markings do not update fast enough to reveal the purging. This would have been most noticeable in cases where memory usage was maxed out. You should see improved Preview performance with less re-rendering during playback as After Effects should now purge the frames least likely to be played during that Preview if necessary. If you do see re-rendering of frames about to be played during Preview, either via the info panel or disappearing cache markings bar in front of your CTI, please reach out to us with your system specs and any project you see this behavior in.
The good news is that After Effects Beta 22.3 no longer crashes when using Apple SF Pro version 17.1d1e1. This font is available from Apple here https://developer.apple.com/fonts/ The repro was simple - select some text in a Text Layer, apply any SF Pro Regular font style, other than Regular itself, boom. The reason for this, though there really is no good reason for After Effects to crash, is that there is a problem with the construction of the particular font version which confused our code and in that confusion it did something bad and triggered the crash. That vulnerability in our code has now been fixed, but an underlying problem with the font remains and that is the bad news that I will cover next. The issue our code has with the font is that we are unable at times to properly distinguish between the Regular instance of the front from the Italics instance of the font. This only happens, so far as we have seen, when applying a Regular font style othe
As the title mentions - if the properties pannel is active (even while being collapsed) - moving a shapre is extremely slow.Is there any temp fix for that?
