Hi there!I'm having some trouble with the audio playback inside Audition when using my focusrite Scarlett 6i6 interface. When I hit the spacebar for the playback in a multitrack session, the audio arrives with a slight delay in relation to the "head thingy" that slides over the track. That makes podcast editing quite hard. However, when I hit the spacebar a second time, then the audio shows no delay.Any ideas on what could be happening? I'm using windows 10 and audition 2022.
I have a usb microphone that I use to record in Adobe Audition. I've used it before on my old computer the same way and never had a problem with it. I recently got a new computer (same model, just slightly upgraded specs) and when I went to record in Audition, I noticed the audio sounded signifigantly worse than it had on my old pc. I assumed it was a problem with my microphone. Went through a bunch of settings and nothing helped. Then I discovered that if I took an audio file from my file explorer (which sounds fine outside of Audition) and played it in the software, it also sounded horrible. The only thing I've found that can fix this is if I go into the audio hardware settings and set the default input to "no input" instead of my microphone. But that only fixes imported files that already sounded ok. It doesn't fix new files that I record in Audacity. And obviously I can't record without my microphone selected as the input device. So I'm not sure what to do. Any help would be very a
Hi folks, Can someone tell me which file (and bounce/mixdown to track) output scenarios will run through the MIX track, and therefore have the MIX effects applied? For example:1. Multitrack > Mixdown to new track2. track context menu > Export Mixdown3. Multitrack > Bounce to new track4. File > Export > Multitrack mixdown Does all of these run through the MIX track?
Good afternoon everyone, I am trying to be better at maximizing my time for my projects, but the thing that keeps holding me up is editing out all of the dead air that is in my projects. The tutprials I found online don't seem to work and I am not sure why, can you help? Here are some steps I have taken so far and some details of the projects I am working on. - The footage used are primiarily video games with 3 main audio tracks. The game audio, my audio, and combined audio (the third one is for just in case scenarios otherwise it is muted).- I have opened the project in Adobe Audition but I wasn't able to find the sequence even when I named it differently so I can find it easier.- When I do a "edit in audition" it brings up the clip, but I can only see one track at a time within the waveform. Would I need to save it to see a multitrack first before I can try the diagnositc steps or is there a simple way to do this? Any hints are appreciated and thanks in advance.
Dear Audition Experts,I have a critical need to record and edit cits in Audition and then play them back on a broadcsat type player. But forever (that is, since physical tape cartridges were used) this playback relied on an analog "sub-audible" cue system that utilized START / INTRO / OUTRO / and END marker cues to allert the disc jockey to these maker times on the song with a series of lamps. Now it LOOKS LIKE Audition still does support these markers (and more) in Meta-Data per the screen shot below (version unknown.) But I CANNOT find this pull-down in the current downladed version of Audition (build 23.2.0.68)Does anyone know if tehse Meta-Data markers are still supported and how to create and edit them? Many Thanks
I want to place markers that stick to a clip's timestamp by default so I can label notable parts of a piece I'm editing, move it around my timeline, and not have to separately move my labels after I change the placement of my audio clips. This feels like it should be the default setting of how labels work in multitrack and would be an easy way to keep track of my clips visually, saving me the time of relistening to a section of audio to know what's in it.
In my workflow, I prefer to keep any cut or individual part unmerged with adjacent clips to maximize editing capability, but this makes it hard to move things around when I'm storyboarding my audio into a podcast format. So I use groups to keep sections of conversation together. But even this creates a lot of different groups that are hardly visually different from one another. I want the ability to quickly distinguish these clips both visually and by sub-grouping.Here's the idea. Once I've edited a piece I don't need to look at the waveforms anymore, so let me overlay them with a text label which auto-contrasts the colour of the selected clip. Preferably this will allow emojis and PNGs to be inserted too so that I can further distinguish with symbols as well as name labels.I also want to then put groups of groups together under sub-headings of groups. This would let me build a podcast with audio clips grouped by sentence, topic, speaker, and conversation. Preferably this would let me
When I open the Amplitude Statistcs window, I see the Loudness spec set to ITU-R BS.1770-3.Can this be changed? If so, how? Thank you,Bob K.
Hi, I have a few samples of voiceover work that I've done which unfortunately contain 1-2 seconds of silence at the start. I don't have a WAV so I'm wondering if there's a way to trim the 320kbps MP3 inside Audition and re-export/re-save without further compression? There seems to be a few 3rd party apps that claim to be able to trim Losslessly so I'm looking to see if Audition or Media Encoder can do this and if not, what apps would be recommended?
I am using MacOS with a trackpad. When I do a horizontal scroll in Audition for audio clean up, it zooms in. This drives me crazy! I've tried disabling 'pinch to zoom' function in the trackpad settings, but this does not help.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
In this day and age, the alternatives to audition text-to-speech tools are everywhere, even more with the AI coming our way, and they all mae Adobe look bad. A couple years ago it was pretty awesome, now it's awfully outdated. Come on guys, you can do better!
Hi,Can someone please assist me with this. Audition had been working fine for me consistenly, however within the last week or so, it had crashed repeatedly when doing simple tasks like Merging or applying an effects rack. Each time it does this, when attempting to recover it fails reading 'Warning: X number of clips has no file asset' and my most recent crash ALSO had made no back up files for the past two hours despite being set to do so for every ten minutes. It crashes with no warning, and I'm working on a brand new Macbook Pro.I can't for the life of me figure out why it has turned from a reliable piece of software, to a complete mess within days. It's really making my work impossible and I'm already having to look at alternative software.I have retrieved the Log Files and will post them below along with my System details below. Many thanks.SYSTEM DETAILS:LOG FILES: Process: Adobe Audition 2020 [69405]Path: /Applications/Adobe Audition 2020/Adobe Audition 2020.app/Content
I honestly can't believe that with such an advanced program, there is no way to keep a clip effect VST3 plugin window up on screen after a single use.... did anyone really think that after a single use, that would be all that may be needed? Every audio program on the market has this option (a toggle)... to either keep the plugin onscreen after use, or allow it to disapear as it does here. My wrist hates this program right now... but I love what it can do. PLEASE ADD THIS TO THE NEXT UPDATE.
How can I remove camera shutterfrom the audio track in a video clip?
I'm transitioning to Audition from Audacity. In Audacity, you can select two tracks (e.g. Host and Guest for an interview podcast) and delete silence to get rid of any awkward pauses. However, it does not trim the silence if there's audio on the other track. So if the Host asks a question and the Guest pauses for a long time to think of an answer, it'll shorten that on both tracks, but once the Guest starts talking it won't shorten the Host track even though the Host is silent. In Audition, the Effects->Diagnostics panel is grayed out in multitrack mode and it seems like I can only edit one track at a time in Waveform mode, and when I delete silence there it deletes all the parts where the Host is letting the Guest speak. Once I get the panel open, I can use it in multitrack, but it doesn't actually delete the silence, it just removes it from the track and leaves the gap in the timeline so it's effectively still just silence. Is there some way to do this the way Audacity does?
I'm having a problem moving the recording / or muted spots at about 0:00.135. evenly throughout the recording. Maybe I'll give an example then you'll know better what's going on 🙂 There is a fixed element, such as an intro. It repeats in each episode. On the track with the voice clip, there are muted spots (loud breaths, mumbles, etc.). I started to notice that these muted parts are shifted from what I marked (a few days / week / month before). It looks as if the mutes are locked, but the clip with the sound has moved. That's why I suspect so, because it affects the whole track and dozens of places. Always by the same amount shifted. Maybe there is some function that I activate accidentally and unconsciously move it?Maybe some Audition update introduced something that such an offset occurred? The effect is cut off word ends. Has anyone encountered such a situation? How can this be remedied? The situation has occurred several times before, but I suspected
Everytime i use a couple of vst's in the multitrack recording, audition crashes... Is this normal? Running it on windows eleven. Could this be the problem? Intel core i7, 2,5 Ghz, 8 core/16 threads, Asus, 32gig ddr4... Anyone?
Hi, we've been trying to open proyects wich includes .ogg files, but we are unable to open then, what can we do, do we need a plug in?
Has anyone had this happen. I am editing a bunch of separate clips and then all of a sudden, all the individual clips until the end become one clip. Each time I have to go back to an earlier version and then redo a bunch of work. Why is this happening?
Once a file is inserted in the multitrack, the name never changes even though the filename changes. Filename in track is "230201_140_Noah_Tr1.WAV", which was the original filename before making modifications and doing a Save As. Whereas filename everywhere else is the correct name, "230201_140_Noah_Tr1e.WAV". It is a wrong reference and causes confusion and extra effort to verify. See attachments.
Hi All, I recorded a voice over and upon play back it sounds choppy, like talking into a fan or a Darlek from Doctor Who. Please see the below screenshot for the waveform and attached .wav file. It peaks and attentuates at a regular a rate (perhaps something to do with sample rate/clock?) I have recorded hundreds of Voice overs before with this setup, including the the day before this happened - I have changed nothing apart from turned everything off and returned in the morning - something appears to have changed randomly. Any help to return to normal would be appreciated. It does NOT occur when recording
I have been editing a podcast and deleting clips when necessary. And the clip goes away. Then after an hour of working, I tried deleting a clip and there is another clip underneath that. And another underneath that. And it just keeps going. I am confused by this. I didn't start this project, so maybe it is a setting or something. or a glitch. Has anyone seen this before? I can't delete the clip because there is always another clip underneath. Where are these clips coming from? Thanks!!
Hi,I use Adobe Audition on a MAC. I have an Audio Devices MixPre 10-ii recorder on which I've recorded six tracks. I want to bring those 6 tracks into Audition and perform a remix into Stereo. I've managed to transfer the audio file to Audition Multi-track BUT all 6 tracks appear as one track (photo attached) - can anyone please assist. Thanks Andrew
I edit a lot of long audio - podcasts lasting an hour or more. I would REALLY like to be able to listen to it faster - like 1.5 speed. That would help tremendously.
