Hi!I'm still pretty new to Audition, so forgive me if this is a really basic thing - I have this recording of a girl that I want to make sound like a really old lady (you know, those feeble "always trembling" types? Like in cartoons and stuff - the benign old grandma or something). Until now I've just managed to make her voice change to the "chipmunk" style. Do I need a combination of pitch changes and some other effect to make the speech all "shaky"? And would I need to apply the effect on the entire thing or just on some parts (to make the shaking more realistic)? Like first apply the pitch change in the entire audio and THEN apply the shake? Thanks for reading!
The documentation is a little vague: "Press the J, K, and L keys to shuttle backward, stop, or shuttle forward. Repeatedly pressing the J or L key gradually increases shuttle speed. (To change the default, set JKL Shuttle Speed in the Playback preferences.)" With Edit Preferences Playback JKL Shuttle Speed set to Half Speed here's what happens. If I press J once it goes forward at half speed. If I press it again it goes backwards at half speed, if I press it again it goes backwards at normal speed. If I press it again it goes backwards at double speed, If I press it again it goes backwards even faster (4X speed?) etc. After pressing K (stop) and hitting Play again pressing L makes it go forward at double speed, pressing L again makes it go forward even faster (4X speed?) etc. (and remember, in Preferences it's still set to Half Speed) If I set preferences to double speed J makes it go backwards at ever increasing speed
Is there any way to check the LUFS of a file in Audition 3.0? If not, is there a third party plugin that anyone knows of that would do it in 3.0? Thanx,David O.
Whenever I try to apply any tool preset I get a loading error. I was hoping to somehow reset to factory settings. I am not sure reinstalling the software will work because I did a fresh installation a while ago. Also, a tool for managing presets would be really helpful.
So I know 1.5 is close to 20 years old but I love it. My new Dell xps8930 runs the program better in Compatibility mode but my problem is getting it to recognize a CD. It's unable to extract tracks from a CD or open them. I'm wondering if it's a sound card issue? The new Dell uses RealTek. Would a different card help? A usb card? Has anyone experienced this?
Hello Audition Experts, I use a hot key to add 0.05 sec of 1khz tone at my playhead location (for creating the 2 sec 'pip' before commercials). I set this up years ago when audition had 'scripts' and 'favourites' as separate concepts within the program, and have imported my old favourites from each previous version.I recently opened this favourite to show someone how to edit favourites, But now I cannot get this command to work again or even rerecord this script correctly. The problem seems to be now that Audition will only accept an exact time from the start or end of a file or a position relative to the entire file as a %, rather than relative to playhead location. It used to offer whether you wanted the actions to process the entire file or a selection of the file, but it no longer does.Is this a bug? or have they gotten rid of this feature and reduced the usefulness of Audition for no reason? I can explain better if you don't get what I mean!Any help would be great.
So I'm doing some mixing and was able to eliminate some noise in a clip in the waveform editor. When I play it back in Multitrack though, it's like the edits never happened UNLESS I solo the track. If I solo the track, it's sounds fine. But once I play everything together, the edits are gone again. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
Hi,My scripts in AA3 are no longer working. It begins the script and then an Attention popup window says, "Script Stopped."I am using Win10. The scripts have been saved to the machine in it's software folder C:/Program Files(x86)/ Adobe/ Adobe Audition 3.0/ Scripts. So far I have tried to edit & resave the script file; record a new script, load a script with new name and similar actions to no avail.Has anyone else had this issue?
Can someone tell me which tool works well for transcribing music, Audition or one of the other audio supporting tools? I want to extract the notes played by ear and using the software looping through segments so I can play them on guitar. I have been working with Audition to do this but I am not sure it is the best option. If there is a learning session on this you can point me to that would be helpful.
Hi all, I recently upgraded from win 7 to 10. On win 7 I was using an Audition 2015 installation. For win 10, I installed a CC2019 version which I had laying around but never used since it wouldn't run on win 7. I've noticed an interesting difference which I can't account for:I often stop playback and click a bit "back" from the playhead with the mouse pointer when editing. With constant repitition, I tend to do this quite fast.I've noticed that on my new installation of Audition there is a roughly 2-second delay before the mouse click is recognized after stopping playback. In all other respects, the system works perfectly, so I don't think it's likely to be an optimization issue.Just woindering is anyone has noticed this as a difference with newer versions of Audition - and whether anything can be done about it?Cheers 🙂
I have a stereo 2.0 wav file. I would like to re-distribute the tracks to 7.1. I cannot figure out how to do this. Nothing seems to work. I need to make the right channel the right surrounds, center and rear and the left channel, left surrounds, cemter and rear. The center channel would be a mono channel, combination of left and right. I guess the LFE would also be a combination. If I copy just 1 channel to my 7.1 template it copies the same thing to all 8 channels. How can I assign what I want to assign to the proper channels? I should mention that I set up a template by going to File>NewAudio File and making a custom 7.1 preset. I also saw a tutorial that instructed me to go to File>New>Multitrack Session. The only thing I can get it 5.1, however, not 7.1Can anyone provide a step-by-step that would tell me how to assign what I want to then proper channel?Thank you very much.
First use of Audition. I’m a very experienced sound and video guy!I use Premiere pro and give courses for Premiere all over Holland and Belgium (European Parlement) for a Company. They have asked me to give courses in Audition as well. I was using Nuendo myself.I’m experienced in Nuendo and Protools. First look it all seems very logical but I do run into things. Why are the shortcuts different than in Premiere Pro?R for razor i.s.o. C? First thing I do is import a AAF file.Haha I should not import I should OPEN it. WHY?Same with OMF files. Why do I see a very long filelist? These are files I do NOT want to see in the File window. This is a AAF of a very simple two minute trailer. There needs to be a BIN button! Just like in premiere, to clean up this garbage. Then I imported the videofile that was made for this trailer. It showed up in the file window but when I dragged it into the multitrack it showed only the audio (while dragging), and it would
I'm new to Audition CC and just started using it this week. I have RODE Reporter mic commected to the laptop via usb cable. Everything was working fine for about a day and a half. After I came back from lunch to continue recording the input volume was very low, nothing like the morning. No settings were changed. I spent about 6 hours with adobe help driving my computer and no help. We loaded ASIO drivers, no luck. I'm open to any all ideas you may have. Thanks in advance for any assistance.
I attempting to write to a CD ... Adobe Audition 1.5 => CD Project View (tab) => Write CD (button) => message "No devices found". The CD drive is connected to a laptop via a USB port. The laptop recognizes it as "DVD RW Drive (D:) Blank Disk. Please advise.
I am trying to install Audition 3.0 on my Windows 10 desktop. This is a new PC without much "baggage" from old installations. When I click on Audition 3.0 Setup.exe, I get asked in what language I want, when I click "next" I see a quick flash and then nothing. There are no files found on the OS drive. I have even removed every mention in the registry, rebooted and turned off Norton protection. NOTHING! I should note that I successfully installed the same files on my laptop running Windows 10 Home without a hitch. Please help: I have spent hours trying.Terry
I edited 3 interviews I have done in 3 separate project files. I imported the files into my final project folder and they copied over easily. I edited them together fine and then went to save the file. I said one or more of the files came from a different sources which I opened subsequently and it did nothing. Then after the files saved the audio i had edited blacked out and did not play the audio like it was on mute when it wasnt. HELP!!!
I'm trying to insert media into the multitrack editor but it goes offline consistently. I have 32GB of space on the drive where the session and media files are. I've tried moving the session folder to another location on same drive but get the Error 16 message of death saying no room. This makes no sense. I've moved the media to a partitioned drive with 200+GB of space but still no luck. AU seemingly randomly lets me insert this file when I exit out of Audition and come back in. I've also tried increasing the RAM allocated to Adobe to 13GB, but no luck. I've been troubleshooting this for 5+ hours and am now losing it. Please help!!!
Hello dear Community, since like a month I got the problem that everytime I open Adobe Audition CS6, all my shortkey and format presets are not available. Moreover, when I want to edit the shortkey settings to get my workflow back, it appears the sign "Audition has found an error and has to be closed now" The details displayed are (everything translated from German): Problem signature:Problem Event Name: APPCRASHApplication name: Adobe Audition CS6.exeApplication version: 5.0.2.7Application timestamp: 505806eeFault module name: MSVCR100.dllError module version: 10.0.40219.473Fault module timestamp: 580f7bc6Exception code: 40000015Exception offset: 0008d7ddOperating system version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48Locale ID: 1031Additional information 1: b0ccAdditional information 2: b0cc0a0e9185a59eaa60006e9b6af34cAdditional information 3: 8734Additional information 4: 873481c6eae3934cdb8ec6a497e8af9e So I litterally can't work on nothing with this program currently. Trying to export a file like usual and for some reason it keeps popping up with one of these 2 errors, I tried exporting a different file and it worked fine but this session won't export and also when i try to create a new multi track session it says target directory not writable. Please help guys thank you
Hi, I'm fairly new to Audition (but I feel like I've lived a thousand lives on this software trying to edit this project). Basically, I've spent several hours each time on trying to edit my project, and all three times, it's crashed. At first, I thought I wasn't saving correctly, and this may well be the case. Please let me know if this is the case. I am editing in multitrack, importing lots of different audio, etc and the first time I was using only the "save" button. I realized this wasn't working, so I started saving using the "save all" option. If I'm doing this wrong, please let me know (I know there's other options, like "save as bath process" and such, should I be using that?) But the second problem is that regardless of the saving, I figured that I would just sit down today and hammer out this podcast episode in one go, working straight for a few hours. This didn't work, because at the final stretch, Adobe crashed unexpectedly. Of course, I filed a crash report,
Hi, I'm very new to Audition. I can't figure out why my 2nd track (purple) is overshadowing the 1st track (green) However you can still see a small bar of the green track on top. I've tried putting empty tracks in between, but that doesn't work.I've also tried re-importing and switching which is 1st and 2nd. I'm sure the solution here is probably quite simple, but I have no idea... 🙃
I am editing audio and want to hear just the selection I've made on the time-line over and over again. I have stumbled across this before but now I can't locate how to play it on a loop.
After an update everything basically stopped. Mouse scroll options, and all scrollers, won't work or just decrease by themselves. Zoom bar also just goes left when zoomed. Can't change any number indicators, or apply effects. Have restarted and downgraded a couple of times but nothing helps. System is Win 10. Any idea what the problem is?
Hi there! To my tremendous joy I just discovered that some 300 flac files from my audio library are wrong-coded in terms of left and right channel 😞 I would know how to fix this file by file (channelmixer), but is there some proper »batch solution« for this instead? Thanks a lot –Klaus
Hello all, Is it possible to delete just ONE action from the history panel without losing all the adjustments I made afterwards? WORKFLOW: I need to edit audio files in waveform view. I edit some voice overs, getting rid of mouth sounds and breathes etc. At one point I listen back to the file and notice an adjustment I made that I'd like to undo. However, I've made edits after that that I'd like to keep. I would like to go back to that particular edit and get rid of that without losing my other edits. So far it won't let me! And it's seriously slowing down my work flow! I have to redo everything again and sometimes I don't even remember what I did. The history panel is right there - I'm sure there's a way around this that I'm just not seeing - otherwise there is a serious flaw in this otherwise good system. Any thoughts? Thank you
