Hello! When I apply any plugin directly (not through ER) - the waveform changes visually. But if I apply anything through Effects Rack in Multitrack view - the waveform stays the same all the time. Is there any way to make it transform by adding plugins on the Rack? It really helps me if the audio visualized...
Hi, for years I have been doing Create-->New Audio File and quickly capturing a mono file from my microphone for voiceover work. This worked throughout the years using a few different interfaces from Focusrite. I recently upgraded to Scarlett 4i4 (3rd gen) and for some reason, the out-of-the-box output presets only allow me to "hear myself" when recording audio if I go into Multitrack Session and record/arm the track. I find this is overkill for a simple VO, and def not the way I've worked for years. Is there any way in Audition to turn on "monitoring" for the simple new audio file recording mode? Because it always just worked before, I always thought it was "on" by default... The fact that I can't hear myself in this mode now throws a wrench in the established workflow. Please assist...
Audition 13.0.2 is now available for download from the Creative Cloud desktop app. This update is aimed at providing better stability and performance and is recommended for all users.
I was working on a two-track spoken dialogue project and everything looked complete and together. (I'd imported the project out of a Premiere project). When I opened the multitrack to continue working the next day, one of the clips on the first track was missing its waveform. It looks like there's no audio in the clip when I know I'd been working on that section the previous day. It just sounds like I've muted the track.I'm hoping someone knows a way that I can get my audio back because I've already done several hours worth of work in this project and I don't want to have to start over. The clip is not offline and everything is exactly how I left it when I shut it down the night before. I'm not sure what to do from here.
Hello Everyone. I would like to know which Technique Is Better. For example, I have attached my Blue Yeti Pro, XLR Jack Into my Focusrite, and Focusrite Is connected to the computer. I can either adjust the Gain from Focusrite or the actual Blue Yetti Pro. Which one is better. Also, I can attach different Microphones, Into my Tascam, and I can either raise the Gain from the Actual Tascam or form the Microphone Transmitter, Receiver.UPDATED:If I am using my Tascam Field Recorder, I personally like to adjust the Gain, from my Tascam. With Focusrite, It looks like It works better If I adjust the Gain from the Focusrite, not the Yeti.Thank you very much.
I remember in the past when you "saved as," or saved a new file from an exisiting one, it would automatically populate in the files pane list. For the past few years, I've had to open the folder manually (click folder icon, upper left) in the files pane, locate the file and click it. I would love to eliminate this step. Is there a way to have the file appear in the files pane from a "save as?"
Hey all!For some reason, after I Ctrl+Z a razor in my Track view, the playhead jumps to the beginning of the session and plays from there instead of just continuing from where it was like it usually does. I haven't touched or changed any settings before this started happening and installing the update didnt fix it. Any suggestions?- Hayden
i currently do not record with any effects on, but once everything is laid out, i usually send all my vocals to a bus thatll have my main effects for cleanup ect...im wondering...while using a cpu heavy plugin...specifically AUTOTUNE PRO, alot of my clients like to use it in real time, which isnt much of an issue. but im curious how some of u would handle this....would you put autotune on a bus and send the tracks that need it in real time to that bus ? or put it on each track manually?
While editing Audio with Audition 13.01.35, Space Bar stops working to play/stop after renaming the markers. To enable Space Bar again, I need to close and restart Audition. Adding some info. It seems this occurs after renaming the marker with a double-byte character.
Hi everyone ! I’m not a recording engineer, just a mucic lover and I’d like to prepare a batch of audio files for listening while commuting. I wonder if someone would be willing to help me setting up a “favorite action” that I could batch apply to a large set of files. Here’s what I think the succession of actions should be : Match loudness to –23 LUFSDynamics Processing > Classic soft knee (I think it’s the best option, but correct me if I’m wrong)Match loudness to –23 LUFS In my understanding, the first pass of loudness matching is important in order to have the dynamics processing operating correctly on tracks with different sound levels. And a final loudness matching is required, once the dynamics has been compressed, because the level of the resulting track can be louder or softer, depending on the music piece. I think setting up an action with these steps must be rather “easy” for a specialist, but not for me. I’ve started to study Audition’s user guid
Hi all,Can anyone suggest what would be the best way to make the playback levels of a ripped compilation of wav files all sound the same volume before actually burning the blank disc? I have used the feature 'normalize all tracks' in Nero but I'm not 100% satisfied with the results. I have Adobe Audition CS5 and would welcome suggestiuons to my dilemma. Thanks Paul
Hi all, I cannot get Audition to record audio when running it on my iMac. No audio is detected whether I use the in-built mic or my audio input device. I know that both of these are working as other applications such as voice recorded are Ableton pick up audio from both. I'm running the same version of Audition (12.1.5.3) on my macbook and it works fine and detects audio from internal mic/input device. I have exactly the same Audio Hardware/Channel mapping settings on both. The only difference is that I am using OSX 10.14 Mojave on my macbook but have updated to OSX 10.15 Catalina on my imac.I know that it used to work fine on my iMac so am wondering if this is a Catalina issue? For now I am going to hold off updating macbook so I can still at least record on that.Any ideas/suggestions?
This was solved via this brilliant thread: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT209175Still no idea why this effected on machine and not the other but glad to have it working!! ==========================================================================This is driving me insane. Both macbook and iMac running Audition 2020 - same settings on both but iMac detects no mic input when I try to record. I know iMac mic inputs are working as voice recorder and other programmes detect it fine. I've had Adobe support on an hour long screen sharing session and they couldn't work it out. Tried changing every setting, reverting to older versions of Audtion but still doesn't work. Does anyone have any ideas or else Audition is pretty useless on my iMac for no apparent reason! Screenshot below of settings on both computers if it helps. Steve
Just recently when I close and then reopen a project later, all the cue markers have disappeared. This never happened before. Does anyone know of a solution?
This seems like an obvious need but I can't find it, so it is now a feature request: I'd like to be able to simply hide/unhide markers in Audition. If there is a way, given I can't find it, please share. Otherwise, please make this a request Adobe.

Hello!I hope you can help me with my problem. I am trying to record scratches in Audition with multitrack. I am usin Serato DJ and SL4 as interface. When I press record in the multitrack the only sound that is rcorded in one blank beep sound (as the one you get from the Serato control vinyl). It is probably some easy trick to fix the problem but I cant figure it out. I have MacBook Air 2017. Thanks in advance!
I am having trouble with Audition and sample rates. I recently upgraded my Mac, and now I find I cannot record in Audition (the mix is coming through a Roland MX-1 via USB). I am using the same setup that had previously worked on the older Mac. But Audition (stangely) is trying to send the audio output back to the MX-1, instead of the speakers. And when I manually attempt to switch the output to the speakers, Audition says the sample rates are not compatible. Again, this is the same setup I had used before - same mixer, same speakers. So I'm not sure why there is an issue now.
Hello, I am having trouble getting any signal to record in Adobe Audition 2020. For a bit of background, I am not a novice when it comes to recording audio and have experience with several different recording programs.I am currently getting a signal in both GarageBand and Logic Pro but not in Audition. Set up:Microphone plugged into XENYX Q802USB2016 Macbook ProTroubleshooting:I have checked the audio inputs and outputs.I have uninstalled and re-installed Audition - even 'forgetting' all previous settings.Checked that Macbook has access to microphone in secruity settings Any help would be appreciated! Happy to post screenshots, settings, etc. Anything that would help!
I need a yes or a no if any clipping occurs in an audio file. In other editors, the waveforms were colored from green to red. And in one instant, I could instantly identify if there was any clipping by looking for red. My current process in audition is to look for large lines, zoom to them, play it back and then inspect in the the live waveform clipping bar. I find this process extremely inneficient and prone to error. There must be a simpler way to get a YES/NO on if there is any clipping?!?! Thank you.
Hello,I have a home studio with Audition 3.0 and a microphone. I am trying to record into a multi track what I am listening to from the internet on the same computer. I have tried different settings to no avail. What am I doing wrong? Thank you for the help!
I have been working on a podcast episode and imported a .wav file from my Zoom device. The .wav file is about 2hr 45min long and I poured four hours into splitting and editing it in a multitrack session. There was this really annoying low base sound which made the entire session just sound horrible so in the .wav file using the waveform view I used the marquee selection tool and cut out a thin rectangle from the very bottom of the waveform in an attempt to cut out only that heavy bass sound which made everything else inaudible. It worked like a charm. The audio got much more clear. I continued to work on the multitrack session and when I was ready to save, I saved the session. It took about 2 minutes to save and after saving when I pressed play to continue listening I got no audio. I turned up the volume a bit and what I actually heard was the heavy base sound which I had cut out. I looked at the Waveform and low and behold the beautiful
I'm looking at using Audition to multi track record a long event. I've been searching trying to find details on file size limits or something of the sort. I'm looking at recording 8 track or more of upto 14 hours long. I'm currently testing this process but would love some technical limits and advice. Will I hit a problem at 4gb or a certain time? Also is there a setting to make it automatically segment the recording files into smaller pieces? Say 500mb or so? This would make moving the files to post processing easier. Last question is how often will Audition flush the buffer to disk? Is it only when the ram buffer is full or is it time based. I don't want to lose the whole recording should something like a system crash or power outage happen.
I use Audition for my voice work and have been for years, but I have a new challenge tonight that I need some help with. Instead of my ususal cartoon / audio book / commercial work, I'm recording time and day tags for a PBS station. The problem is that saying the station name 1600 times is awkward and I can only do it a couple hundred times before I get a bit tongue tied. It's a weakness I didn't know I had until now. Is there a way to "paste to mark"? If I say, for example, "Monday at 12:30" and then put a mark down in cadence before going on to 1:00, can I paste the station name to all of those marks at once? Is there a better way that I'm not considering? Thanks for any input!
