Hi - I have a Zoom H5 and I want to use this to record my voice on a podcast. I've selected H5 as my audio input in Hardware settings and selected chanel 1 in Chanel Mapping, but although I can arm the track for record the level meters don't move and ther'e no audio coming from my mike. Am I missing something? On one of the forums I read about downloading a driver for the Zoom - earlier in the year I was able to use this setup and it worked fine. Many thanks, Bruce
Why i cant change languages, options not even active
I've been using Adition since it was Cool Edit and this is something I've never discovered. Many times when I use the Multitrack the workspace is way bigger than I use and of course when I mix down there is a large dead space at the end that has to be trimmed. Is there a way to change the size of the Multitrack workspace? Thanks in advance!
Like many of my fellow post-ers, I'm getting increasingly frustrated with Adobe's instability. My computer was selected specifically because it was designed with Adobe Creative Suite usage in mind. I am attempting to create an audible for my book. Today, I hooked up a RODE NT USB mic, changed the preferences under Audio Hardware, and it crashes every time on this screen. I cannot even open a new audio file after changing the preferences.I am researching other programs because time is money. And in addition to the money Adobe has been getting from me for close to two decades, I am losing money on the time I am spending Sending Crash Reports and trying different options. If anyone has a workaround, I will take it. If not, I'm moving on from Adobe.
Adobe Audition has a "preview editor" that shows changes in waveform in real time when modifying the sound, as in the example below. However, mixing in Adobe Audition does not have this function. When mixing, I need a plugin that shows changes in the waveform in real time when modifying the master sound of mixing or the sound used in mixing, as in the example below. https://helpx.adobe.com/audition/how-to/audition-visual-edit-preview-cc.html
My project is in 176.4 kHz (32-bit), but Adobe Audition limits the selectable sample rates in Preferences > Audio Hardware to 96 kHz. WHY? My external USB DAC (Topping D90) can do what I'm asking no problem, and my Mac's Audio MIDI Setup app detects and allows me to select 176.4 kHz output to my DAC, but moments pass and it changes to 96 kHz (or 88.2 kHz). Why can I not select 176.4 kHz everywhere and have it stay there? EDIT: I do not use 176.4 kHz or 32-bit because it's better or because I think I can hear better quality. On my setup, lower sample rates produce audible artifacts, espeically when working with massive multitrack projects. Even 24-bit doesn't allow me to avoid adding dithering between saves, whereas 32-bit makes quanitization error nearly impossible to create/detect, so I don't have to dither every dang time I save / export a file until final mastering stages for 24-bit and 16-bit files. Please do not argue with me about 32-bit and 176.4 kHz nonsense becaus

Hi everyone!Im doing a podcast from a stereo recording. During a few minutes, there's all this noise that I notice is coming in mostly from one of the channels. Is there a way to lower the volume on just one channel for a short duration? Thanks for any help as I learn! -Paulette
Why don't I see .m4a as an available file format in the Export Settings within the Match Loundess utility? There is a nice selection of other formats, but .m4a is absent.
I want to combine 2 tracks by "adding" 60% of one track and 40% of the other. The 2 tracks are of the same song but from different sources. I want to end up with single stereo track which is the sum (60/40) of the 2. How do I do this?
Every time I try to open a previously recorded file for my podcast, it will load but stop at 60% and then says"An error was encountered during the conforming process: Unable to read or decode the file."Can someone help with this? Is there anyway to fix this?
I was cutting audio in a separate track and went and my top track was affected with the cuts on from a totally different track can I get rid of the cuts on my top track the light green track is where I need to remove the razor cuts.
I have forgotten how to get the time display in my wave file view. Like when I select a section and it will show in the wave window how long my selection is. Help please !
How can I delete the echoes completely without ruining their authenticity? Can you explain in detail how to do it step by step? Thank you so much.
I don't know sound, but with Covid I have been thrown onto a steep learning curve for video recording and putting our church sermons online. I have primarily been using Premiere Pro to edit (though I have spent many hours in basic tutorials for learning the program), but I'm willing to jump into Audition if someone has specific instructions (I don't want to spend more hours trying to learn that program as well). We know our lapel mic needs replacing, but we are currently waiting for that to happen. I have spent hours reading and watching tutorials on how to fix the piercing/zapping sounds from the mic, but nothing has been able to help me. I don't even know how to properly describe it! Attaching small clip of the problem. Any help would be SO appreciated!
Hey I dont know if this is exaclty possible but in the specteral pitch display i can see that the light red areas are around the B2 when i would like them ot be more around the B4 but keep the darker red areas at the top in realtivly the place at around G6 Thanks
I have my interface (U-phoria UMC202HD) plugged into my PC and my XLR microphone (audio-technicia2035) plugged into output 1. I know the sound is being picked up because when I snap into the mic, the "sig" lights up on the interace, indicating it is receiving the audio signals. However, when I open a track in audition and try to record, it allows me to press record but records absolutely no sound. I have the input set to the interface and the output set to the speakers. I don't know why it isn't working.
I editing an hour of audio saving selections as individual files using Save Selection As from the editor window. The files all saved but when I tried to insert into the multitrack all files were named correctly, but contained the full recording session. I treid re-editing - double checkign - same problem. Keeps happening!!! Fix? Thoughts? Help?Tried the latest update but doesn't seem to fix it.
Audition is trying to initialize and wants to read my FilmImpact Effects related to Premiere. Audition freezes when trying to read theses files and will not open.

Hi forum,I'm a technophobe but use Adobe Audition for recording my voiceover work. Everything was going swimmingly until I raised the level of my recording by dragging the volume lines in the box in the middle of the recording (the little lines next to the wheel middle of the recording screen - sorry not to use technical terms) - and then saved the recording at the new level of volume.I then went to record a new file and ...the recording is off the scale loud and distorted - with the recording measures shooting up way above -1db - and when I listen back it's ridiculously loud and completely distorted. I cannot now record at the usual level I record at and don't know how to change it back to the original preset. Please can anyon help me? - I have work I need to do and can't. I would really appreciate any insight and hope that it's a simple button I need to press to find the original recording preset I had on there. Thanks so much, Sarah W
Hey, i am new to auditio. After exporting a multitrack audio while i listen to it in a audio player sound volume feels like going up and down here and there. Some volume increases abruptly after a while it goes down. But i sounds ok in multitrack menue. Need a solution desperately .
Hi,I have a problem in Audition.I want to apply the loudness radar to bus tracks to measure loudness of dialogue, music, fx, etc. per bus. It does measure loudness from the beginning, but then, whenever i actually try use the faders to impact bus output, it does not, it does not impact the actual loudness radar, it keeps showing the original values. I tried this on the individual tracks, busses and also on the master track. No fader seems to impact the measured loudness. Only when i manually in-/decrease clip volume per individual clip, do I see feedback in the loudness radar. Could you help me with this? 13.0.5.36 / MAC, 10.15.4, AMD radeon 5500m 8gb vram, 64gb system ram
Hi There, I can not seem to mix down to stereo, I am recording in stereo but voice is left and music bed is right.....how do I get the end product to be in stereo?
I am trying to post an audio book to Audible and they are asking for the already recorded files in a range of -18 to -23db. Seeing as the files are already recorded I need to go back in and edit them down. I am asking if there is a way of setting a compression range and then applying that range to the already existing files. Doing this manually sucks. There are quite a few files that need to edited down. ThanksMitch
