Audition

For some reason, the waveform has stopped responding to certain changes, even though it did before. Now, whenever I adjust the volume or apply a fade, Audition will allow me to make these adjustments, but the waveform doesn't change.

Hello, and Happy 2020  In my editing of an audiobook, following the author's notes, I am instructed to remove "thumps" which I missed in my first pass.  It has taken me a while to even hear these, but I have finally found them and been able to isolate their sound print in the spectral view.    The problem is, I am not sure these are actual "noise" -- I can't seem to filter them out, and their signature in the spectral view shows more of a sound "hole" rather than a "thump."  Still, there is something noticeably wrong to the ears of the boss, and I am trying to figure out how to deal with it. We do have the option of re-tracking these segments, but I would MUCH rather figure out how to correct these in Audition.Can any of you hear the thump, under the word "lying" in the attached sample?   Any suggestions on how to fix it?Thanks very much.Rob https://www.dropbox.com/s/bdk2t1tsje7zqxf/THUMP-UNDER-LYING.wav?dl=0 P.S.  I

I upgraded to Adobe Audtion 2019 and it no longer supports text to speech in other languages. Is there a lauguage pack download or plug in that will work with Audtion 2019?

Hi, When roudtripping from Premiere Pro to Audition and back i have a problem. When done adjusting the multitrack session in Audition and choose export/export to Premiere Pro, in the export window the option 'Open in Premiere Pro' is greyed out. I have to manually open the exported xml-file in Premiere Pro and everything works fine. I'm on the latest version of Windows 10 and the Adobe CC (2020) apps. Anybody else has this problem? Thanks

I filed a bug report yesterday. I also alerted the guys on twitter -Running ver.2017 on a Quad MacPro w/32 gigs of RAM and a 1 gig ATI GPU on El Capitan.I noticed this yesterday while cutting an audio clip. At first the behavior was only occurring in the Global Waveform view/area and in the Prewire Editor. This morning I'm noticing if you make a large selection in the Editor, the issue persists.Video is about 40sec. Also, towards the end I drop in two Markers and select the area within the Markers, then delete. Im trying to cut sections of a song out, but I want to cut at the right time eg on a tap or downbeat. Im wondering if audition has any feature in it that lets you easily cut at a tap or downbeat

When trying to connect my Presonus Faderport to Audition 3.0, the transport controls are working but if I try to map any other buttons or a footswitch to any function, I get the error message "The specified device is already in use. Hi there, I've been using adobe premiere to edit a project I'm working on and I'm having an issue with the audio. There is a humming noise from the air conditioner and periodic crackling from the lavelier mics. I tried noise removal on adobe premiere pro but it's very difficult to isolate the noise as there is dialogue in the scence. Any suggestions would be very helpful!

Hello All,I'm VERY new to Adobe Audition (12.1.5.3 - Mac running Catalina). I had used Audacity for the longest time but Audacity can not run on Catalina. I'm learning my way through this. I have a large recorded audio file. All I want to do is separate the file into multiple tracks and export them to individual files with their own ID3 tags. Thus far I've been able to open the file in multi track, trim down and edit the tracks the way I want to. I've also figured out how to export them as single files. The thing driving me CRAZY is adding the ID3 tags to each exported file. Can someone PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me out? I've searched up and down the net and literally have found zero resouces to help me.Thanks in advance for your help!

I'm making an audiobook to submit to ACX. I processed my files and set them to ACX requirements using Match Loudness. I uploaded the files and now a couple weeks later I got a notice that my peaks were over-spec on 3 of a dozen files. I rechecked those files using Amplitude Statistics and they are not over-spec. But then I zoomed in on my wave form and looked along it and saw that indeed I had one area where the peaks were too loud. Why is the statistics giving errors? Is it just giving an AVERAGE peak? Hmm, that doesn't make sense -- a peak is a peak. What am I doing wrong or misunderstanding about Match Loudness?  I just now tested Match Loudness again and ran the file through it (again) for a Peak Amplitude of -3db -- and it reduced that one area of loudness properly. I wonder why it didn't do it before? ...But it also reduced everything else! Rats! I wish it only reduced the peaks to fit -- jeez, isn't that was adjusting the Peak Amplitude is supposed to do? This morning, I opened up an audio project I'm working on in Audition, and realized the left channel wasn't working. I had just worked in this project on Friday with no problems, so I assumed my headphones had bitten the dust. But after playing other stereo audio on my computer in other programs without a problem, and experiencing the same issue in Audition with a different pair of headphones, I realized the issue seemed to be limited to Audition.To be clear, the audio files are all in stereo, and the visuals within Audition show equal levels for the left and right channels, but the left just isn't coming through. I experimented by re-opening several of my completeted and archived Audition projects--none of them had the left channel, even though they'd been finalized previously without a problem. OK Gurus. I've been using Audition / Cool Edit Pro for years but I've come across something that has me stumped. I use Audition for recording vinyl records on to my computer. Usually it's pretty straight forward but I've encountered a problem with one record that I don't know an easy fix for. This particular record is fine on the A side. On the B side, however, everything is slightly off centre. Almost as though the record wasn't quite in the centre when the record was being cut. The result is that the record doesn't rotate evenly. While it's playing you can see it wobble as it rotates. So with every rotation the music speeds up and slows down slightly. Just enough to sound annoying (even though it's almost perfectly in time with the beat due to the rotation speed almost matching the bpm of the song). Is there an easy way to adjust the speed to get it consistent? The only ways I can think of would be too difficult to be viable.

Hello there,I have a very weird (and very irritating) bug in adobe audition.Whenever I export my multitrack file, the mp3 is way longer than the time selection (see screenshots below for all the steps I take).1: select time frame of 14.372: file - export - multitrack mixdown - time selection3: these settings4: resulting file in explorer is 18.30; the file is silent after 15.30 (so it's not only too long, but it's also stretched out?)5: resulting file in AA is 14.27I have the same problem if I choose (in step 2) for 'entire session' instead of 'time selection'.Any help would be very much appreciated, because all my clients (and hence, me 😉 get rather confused and irritated about it. I recorded an entire song with many layers. I spent twelve, consecutive hours recording this. After saving everything numerous times, I closed out of the program and when I opened it back up a couple days later, every audio file lost the audio and was replaced by flat lines as if nothing was ever recorded. How do I get my recordings back? And more importantly, how do I ensure this will not happen again in the future? Thank you in advance for any assistance.Garrett

When I am editing an audio file, the red line that shows were the audio is playing . . . use to go to the right, and the audio would continue to the right along with the red line. But now, when the red line gets close to right, it goes off the screen and reappears back at the beginning of the screen along with audio.Does anyone know how I can change it back to show the screen continuing to the right along with the red line?SincerleyDean H.

Hi:  I have been looking into getting the Adobe Audition 2020.  Amazon offers a one year subscription for $239.00 for one year.  Is that the best value I can get?  Concerning the software, does the latest version contain The Compressor, Expander and Limiter effects?  I am looking to remove  artifacts from music files.  Does this software do a good job at doing this.  Is it easy to do so?  Thanks in advance.  Ed
