Audition

Hi there, I couldn't open files in Audition after upgrading my mac to mac OS Catalina. Dragging documents still works though and it's the only way to open a file. The screenshot is attached. I would be very grateful if anyone could help me solve the problem.

In multitrack, is there a way to click on a clip (that has been cut/trimmed) and, basically untrim it? Like "extend clip to full length" -- instead of having to mouse over the edge of the clip, get the "]" 'red bracket' cursor, and drag out the clip. Further more, would there perhaps be a way to basically select the whole timeline, and tell it to extend all clips to fill gaps. Like it would re extend all the clips as far as they can go, unless there is another clip infront of it, in which it would extend up to that clip. i.e. a more automated way to do this:

Hi guys, in need of advice. 2019 audition Currently trying to live record while monitoring. I Tried downloading asio but there is error on download  Win10 - XPS 2018Snowball mic How can I fix audio monitoring delay issue when asio download doesnt work? Any other options?

Not the first time I try to adress this, but with 2019 out, I still don't undertsand why Adobe wouldn't develop such a critical feature.Why can't I apply a set fade/transition to a bunch of clips all at once (like "apply default transition" on Premiere Pro) whereas it's possible in every single other audio editing software out there?I work in voice over production, and this really lacks in Audition. And no, of course I don't want to be moving by mouse some aproximate fades...

Hi thereMy first post, so thanks in advance any assistance.  First some context for the problem: I'm communications worker in a small charity, and Im using Audition CC19 to make podcasts. I had been using audio file on a server based on the office, though there is a process underway to move to the cloud.  I was using a specific participation to store and access audio files for editing.  I have a series of sesx file saved for a number of podcasts under production.  BUT while I was out for a few days that tech people migrated the source folders to the cloud and deleted the original source files Im using in my sessionsMy issueWhen I open up my save sessions and projects on Audition, all my files are now reading "offline"My questionIs it possible for an existing project/session 'point' to a different file source location and still keep all the editing, cutting, volume changes etc that have been applied to each file in each track in session view. And

I just updated my ASIO driver for my Focusrite Scarlet 2i2 (1st Gen). Not 100% sure that's the cause of this problem, but suddenly I'm getting intermittent crackling when trying to edit audio. It isn't in the actual recording. I'll listen to a phrase and hear crackling. Then listen the that same phrase again and no crackling can be heard. It's like it's something in the playback that isn't matching up.Any idea what could be causing this?Thanks!BTW - this is happening in both the CC version of Audition and my old standalone 3.0 version.

Good day. I don't do much AV editing (I'm a still image guy), but I'm wearing a different hat this week for our small organization. I'm combining music with narration for an illustrated oral history project. I've been doing the audio work in Audition, and I'm working with CS6 since we already own a license for this. With both tracks loaded into a multitrack session, I can't figure out how to selectively adjust volume for the music around the ebb and flow of the narration (I could switch to the waveform editor, but timing this against the narration would be clunky at best and of course destructive). Though I've done multiple web searches and can see how to adjust volume for a track over an entire clip or fade in/out at the beginning and end of the clip, nothing I've found indicates a way of doing this selectively, within a clip and within a track. Can anyone turn the lights on for me here? I'm grateful for help with this.

Hey there!I've been using Adobe Audition for years and absolutely LOVE it for my voice over business! I do have an issue though.  I have a new computer, and I am attempting to download and install creative cloud and audition. Unfortunately I have found that the installation will get to a certain point and just freeze. Like the installer itself doesn't freeze, but it will sit for hours at 18.7% (for example) until I restart it all over again. I had problems also when trying to download it onto another computer for my assistant editor. So now I'm wondering how widespread these issues are, and if anyone has some quick tips to resolve it? It's not that I CAN'T spend 4 hours on my Sunday afternoon trying to simply download a problem, I just don't want to LOL!Let me know what your thoughts or helpful tips are 🙂 Thanks in advance!Megan 🙂 

I am NOT an audio person, but trying  to get the basics.I am using the Behringer (trying at least) to record to Windows10 using Audition.Here is what I am trying to do.  I want to sing to a music trax and record that.I have used many variations in the setup through Audition.  And nothing seems to work.I am running a set of headphones into the Interface.and Behringer UltraVoice microphone.Like I said can someone guide me on getting started?Like I said....a complete idiot to audio equipment. Thanks to one and all.

Hi Support community,Apologies if this has already been solved, I was unable to find any posts like this.So I have several .sesx files that I saved when I was doing some editing, and when I open any of them there is no content. I dug a little deeper and saw that in the code for the .sesx file itself the <files/> section is blank, and it consists of only a <files/> (there are 600 lines of other code though). Did I screw up when saving the file? I'm at a loss of what possibly could have happened, and I have a hunch that all of my multitracks are unusable now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, We are a news and music station that recently upgraded to Audition CC. Traditionally, because of the way our reporters edit in multiple locations/studios, we have edited audio directly from a network drive. Since upgrading, we have had multiple sessions become corrupted while the reporter is editing - unfortunately sometimes not to their knowledge until they have saved, or had not saved prior work, so all is lost.  Is this a known issue? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.  

I'm admittedly new to this program, I haven't ventured much out of Premiere and Photoshop so excuse my ignorance. During a recording, some of my audio suddenly becomes very tinny and scratchy when the volume goes higher. My assumption is that this is just a recording problem and I won't have any luck trying to fully fix it, but if anyone has any suggestions as to how to make it a little more listenable, I would be grateful. After updating to latest versions on both Premiere and Audition, I can't get Audition to open see the file I am trying to edit from Premiere. When I point out a clip, and click on "Edit in Audition", The program starts up, but before it is fully loaded, premiere says "Render and replace". Then It creates a rendered file of it self in the Project browser in Premiere Pro. And when Audition finally is loaded, it is empty. No file loaded.  What has gone wrong? 

Hello there, I tried to edit an audio Clip in Adobe Audition from the premiere Pro Timeline but It didn't work. No clip opened into Audition. ALL the apps are updated.My Computer is a Mac Pro (late 2013) with MacOS Catalina 10.15.132BD ram 1866 MhZ DDR3AMD FirePro D500 3GB graphic card. Thanks for helping! BestGraziano

Hello, Since update to Adobe 2020 I can't no longer Generate Speech. Before update not a problem. The box opens, but as soon a change from "male" to "female" Audition freezes and can't be opened again until I restart the computer. I'm on a Macbook Pro / High Sierra

Hello! I recently bumped into some really weird problem. I made a favorite preset wich is puts 1.5 sec silence to the end of the file. It works in the waveform editor without any issue: Id like to use this preset in batch process. And the problem is as shown in the picture the waveform is cut off. Did I made a mistake or is it a bug?    Preset looks like this:   Thanks for help! 

I have a mixer and I have the output connected to the input of the computer. If I record speech on a mic on one of the channels, it records perfectly in Audition. However, if I try to record what ever is playing on my computer speakers, just static or a buzz is recorded in audition. I tried connecting the output of the computer to the input of my mixer and see that the mixer is receiving audio, but Audition still does not. I saw on here a product called VAC, so I installed it, changed my preferences in Audition, but still nothing.

I have audio clips with different volumes. I'd like to make them the same. Wow, has this been hard!  Well, it seems doable using the Speech Leveler effect. However, when I use that I find that I get such loud breaths in the result that Noise Reduction can't remove them without excessive distortion. Any hope? I also see that I can pull up the yellow volume line of a clip to change its volume. That seems like a crude, awkward method. But it doesn't seem to add distortion.  In the pursuit of equal volume I've tried to learn how to determine what is the numerical volume level or average of a clip. I've used the Amplitude Statistics button to take readings of clips. I can get an Average RMS value by doing that. It seems like these numbers vary quite a bit each time I re-scan a clip or audio selection! And that number doesn't seem to be very useful for helping me make 2 clips with different volumes have the same volume.  Anyone have a link to wonderfully he

Audition CS6; adding wav files [48KHz, 24bit] into a multitrack session [32 bit mixing].Clips [files], but not all,  that have played properly in this session, now play very distorted, and at full [or very nearly] level.We have gone back to the previously exported * session to recover and re-edit, but we really don't want this happening again.( * I tend to do File, Export,  Session...  (having previously checked the box in Preferences to 'Associate all fiels with the session' [whatever] ) so that Audition creates a folder with all the needed files for that session next to where i save the session .sesx file.  )Any and all ideas please!ThanksJohn

...It's looking unlikely. I have a nicely sound-damped space in the basement to record. But our house is old and when anybody walks around upstairs I hear floor squeaks. I thought that kind of sound could be removed but that now seems unlikely. When I use noise reduction processes enough to remove the squeaks the process also removes the quality of the narration... I've been trying both Noise Reduction and also the Dynamics Autogate. When NR is used enough I get a huge amount of that hollow "bonging chiming" sound. Autogate removes squeaks between sections of dialog and still preserves some quality but then all sound between words disappears and it's unnatural. And squeaking within dialog remains, which sounds bonkers. I was able to remove steady background sounds and mic hum very well and was even able to diminish breathing so it wasn't prominent but still was present enough to be natural. And the file still sounded good to me. So I was good to go ... except for clunks

I was listening to a file and it's good. Then somebody turned on a water faucet and I heard the water running. In the spectral graph I saw the water flow start -- there it is, a band of sound going through the narration. I wondered, Is there a way to remove that band without removing the voice that it's going through?  Since this was a constant sound I think I pretty much figured out how to remove it without hurting the rest of the sound. I used the Capture Noise Print and NR process. I think it worked!

Hi... I'm prepping audiofiles for my first audiobook. I'm learning about the RMS and Peak and other ACX requirements -- I think I have a handle on those. I'm having more trouble with noise reduction. I've read here about leaving some breaths since they're natural. But I do have some mic hum. And I recorded in my house in a padded area of the basement, but kids were sometimes upstairs and some clomps and creaks got in. I don't mind having some little things here and there in the recording -- i'm not ashamed that it's amateur. ...But it wd be nice to remove mic hum and big clunks, breaths and mouth sounds that are obtrusive. While maybe just lowering some of the natural background yet not trying to totally remove it. Anyway, those are my goals. When I google this subject I find a link to a Audition forum/community article titled "Workflow for noise reduction and speech volume." Sounds great but it seems to be gone -- part of the old forum, I'm guessing. Any new link? I'm learni

I have been using Audition CC 2019 for a few months.  Today, I recorded a voice over for a podcast and started to mix and master.  I was hearing a lot of sizzle and pops.  I thought at first that it was a mic issue.  I tried to use DeNoise & DeClipper, but I still had issues.  I uploaded the file to drive and listened there and no issues.  The issue seems to be isolated to playback thru the software.  Anyone else run into this and can help us figure it out. Thanks!
