Hello everyone,I'm not very savvy yet with audition so I'm not sure of things I can try to solve this problem.  When I record my voice overs I get frequent thumps in the audio that are definitely coming internally.  I am in a vocal booth and it's a very controlled environment with no external thumps possible.  I've changed my Mic and interface to make sure it wasn't caused by any audio hardware and the thumps persist.  Now I'm left thinking it might be a setting issue like sample rate etc., but I don't know enough yet to even have a sense of things to experiment with.  Any thoughts or advice would really really be appreciated.  These thumps are impossible to differentiate in spectral view so editing them out is a very difficult task that is way to time consuming.  Sometimes I just can't seem to edit them out at all.  Very frustrating. I've found lots of discussion on how to slow the audio or a section of the audio in a file. But I don't want to slow the audio forever. I just want to slow it down enough so that I can see exactly where background sounds are occurring and be able to edit them out. Click/Pop editor is not getting them, But the file moves too quickly past the sound for me to pinpoint it. Can anybody help me? Thanks.

Hi all,I am trying to use Audition for the first time ever and coming across a undesirable behavior. When I record my voice in Multitrack mode and play it back, there is a lot of variable white noise between my words. The noise virtually disappears when there is voice and picks up dramatically during silences. If I switch to Waveform and play the audio I just recorded, it sounds great, no noise a very rich sounding voice. If I then save the single file as an mp3 and play it back in iTunes or something, it also sounds great. If I export the multitrack mix down to an mp3 and listen to that file in iTunes, all the noise is back. Why the difference and is there anything I can do about it? I've searched but all I can find is stuff about using noise reduction. That seems wrong to me because I can clearly save the file without noise which should indicate that the noise is actually not there. It is being added by something in the Multitrack mode. I have the .crash file if needed.Also, obviously I need me project to work and I'm losing valuable time and vocal recording and it's being wasted by this buggy app.I need help but I'm also so frustrated.-kaleb

I've been working on one segment for days because Audition keeps crashing in Waveform. The session folder does not contain the multitrack that I was working on. It saves the .wav files separately. I did find one of the multitrack but not with any of the edited segments I was working on at the time of the crash. I have the latest version of Audition and use a fairly new IMAC. I've tried calling Adobe but they have awful customer service.  Now I'm afraid to edit in the Waveform anymore for fear of crashing.Thanks. Michele

Hello everyone.Inside Premiere Pro, I have a video clip that and a Audio. This Is what I did:1- I selected the Clip2- Edit- Edit In Adobe Audition " Sequence"3- Inside Audition, I add Bunch of Effects4- File-Export To Adobe Premiere Pro.Also, I go back and forth to Audition, and apply different effects, and save them , and when I export to premiere, I do see the new Audio, and I can delete the old audios.When I open my Project In premiere pro, I can easily export the video or audio, for example: File-Export Media, and I can choose H.264 for Video and Audio, Or If I want Audio only, I Just uncheck Export Video, and use H.264.I noticed, Inside Audition, If I choose Export With Adobe Media Encoder, I do see Failed next to the file.Please let me know If I am exporting correctly. Also, Please let me know what format you recommend when exporting Audio onlyThank you very much.

Adobe isnt going to want me to uninstall.but its pop-up notifications to renew and buy keep disrupting my radio show on the air. Needs to be eliminated from my computer.is my solution really to get a new computer, if its impossible to uninstall?that's pretty unfair.

I am editing e Learning VOs - one audio file per slide.  I would be most grateful for any suggestions to speed this process along.  I have tried exporting at markers into individual VO files as well as "saving selection as" option.  Both seem to create a longer-than-necessary amount of time.  MANY thanks!Stu Norfleet

I recorded many files at the wrong sample rate.  It was set to 44100 Hz in the Audition Preferences Audio Hardware panel, and set to 96000 Hz everywhere else, so all my audio sounds very low and slow.  I tried Edit>Interpret Sample Rate to see if I could change it 44100 and if that would fix it, but it didn't. I also tried Edit>Convert Sample Type and nothing there seems to help, either.  Could anyone please tell me if there a way to save my recordings?  Currently they're 24bit 96000, but will be happy if I can get them to just sound correct at any sample rate or bit depth.  Thank you for your help!

I am using Audition CS6 V 5.0.2 Build 7 on a Win 7 workstation with a Blue Snowball mike and am getting "voice in a can" sounding voice over recordings. I'm just an audio novice and can't seem to find a way to eliminate most or all of this hollow sound.  In the rack I've used the Graphic Equalizer (10 Bands), the Multiband Compressor, and the Vocal Enhancer but don't find a pathway to the removal of this characteristic.  It seems to me that I can add qualities, but not subtract them. What to do, and perhaps a bit of teaching about what this characteristic actually is in audio terms would be helpful.A somewhat related question would be what to do about not changing the tonal qualities of a recording when using noise removal techniques.Tom Barber

I've used Audition regularly for work and personal projects for 10 years and am completely confused with this issue I'm having:I started a session and imported an mp4. I am in the Edit Audio to Video workspace. The top row is video, the first track is the video's audio, and I am trying to record and add commentary on Track 3. I recorded stuff, was editing it and timing it and playing it back and everything worked just as expected. I was saving regularly and Audition was asking if I wanted to update the session file and the individual audio files I was recording on track 3. After a couple hours of work, I saved everything again and took a break. When I returned and opened the session, it looked just like it did before I started all of the recording, editing, and placing of audio on Track 3. The files I recorded were not appearing in the files pane. I imported them and dragged a couple to where I had them in relation to the video in the multitrack session. I have a music track of around three minutes. Upon export the file is just a very short electronic sound of a second or two long.How do I fix this?I have no audio hardware issues as far as I am aware and nothing has changed, I have not altered the usual export settings. MP3 works fine btw Oh another thing, I'm still on an old version of Audition. Is it safe to try updating to see if it fixes it without making my current project incompatible or something?

Hello all,I have been using a Zoom H4N Pro to capture audio, from interviews for radio to video VO.  Up until now all has been perfect, not a lot has to be done in post due to the high-quality of the zoom.  All the sudden when I put my most recent clip into Au, it sounds like garbage.  Sort of like I used a tape player from the 80s to record with no mic.  Checked my zoom and the raw recording and it's all good.  Definitely an Au issue, just wondering if I hit some setting or what??  does the sample rate matter that much?  I'm recording at 96/24 but I dont think that should matter.  Also, when I play my clip in Premiere it's fine.frustrating!BB

Hello.Since I'm new to Audition this question might be stupid, but I couldn't find right answer, so:I have 500 separate tracks (lets call them track001, track002, track003 etc.) and 2 additional track I would like to repeat.What I want to achieve is to process files to join them by pattern:addition1, track001, addition2, addition1, track002, addition2, addition1, track003, addition2, addition1, track004, addition2, addition1, track005, addition2, addition1, track006, addition2, addition1, track007, addition2, addition1, track008, addition2, addition1, track009, addition2, addition1, track010, addition2And I would like to create 50 files by that pattern from my base 500 files.Is there a possibility to automate such process?Best regards,Marcin

Hi, People,This is really starting to bug me and I need to solve it for my work.Whenever I export a WAV > m4a a gap is always added on to the end of the loop, thus breaking the seamless loop that I started with. Is there a way/can you export to m4a without this gap being introduced? I've done lots of reading and think it could be metadata being added on; if this is the case, is there a setting I need to check or uncheck for this not to be added and my loop remaining seamless?Thank you in advance.Sine Monkey.

Hi - I am new to Audition CC 2018 and ACX. I am currently trying to get my submission ready, but am having difficulty in figuring out a few things:How do I get these measurements correct?I realize that noise floor is more about the sound in the recording room, but how do I make sure that the dB are at the correct levels?I've researched and it seems to have something to do with compressing, but I could be wrong.measure between -23dB and -18dB RMS and have -3dB peak values and a maximum -60dB noise floorIf another ACX-er could supply a quick step by step tutorial, I would be so very grateful! I have a 24 inch wide straight across edge of screen to edge of screen not diagonal across, Its 3840 x 2160. I have it set on 250%.I click new file,  click new audio the box that comes up says new audio F... and is less than 2 inches wide by actual measurement on my computer screen, I can not read or do anything because it is so small. I have been running 1920 by 1080 to be able to everything in Audition come out where I can read and do something with it.I am setting up to make some educational videos and want the maximum quality that I can get.What do I do where I can run 3840 x 2160 display settings and be able to read and record the popup box and other areas of Audition I can not read or work with now?I clicked update and said Audition is the latest version.ThanksFrankModerator note: Title changed to reflect issue.

When exporting audio of selected range markers to separate files in Audition there are a number of export options.  For sample type, I need 44100 Hz Mono, 16-bit.  However, Audition always changes the Bit Depth to 32-bit (float).  Does anyone else have this issue with bit depth changing on export?  All my files are set up and saved at 16-bit. 

after searching the forums and online I guess using a talkback mic with audition isn't an option? which really sucks if so. I tried using mine on my presonus studio live mixer and It doesn't seem to work. so im wondering..if I just hookup this dynamic mic to a different mic channel in my studiolive mixer..and then use that channel in a track in audition to feed to the vocalist would it work the same way? the mic has an on and off switch..so I could just turn it on when needed. Im hoping it would work since it would pretty much be the same setup as the vocal mic except it would sit on my desk in the control room....ive also heard about this app call MOTU..mark of the unicorn..thats suppose to solve this issue. has anyone had any experience with it??

Hello all. I'm working in Audition CS6. I'm working on music in the multitrack window. I am editing the tracks and selecting the best takes. There are white vertical lines at seemingly erratic intervals while I edit. I find them distracting and not very useful. Especially as I don't know what they are or represent.I have tried to find a way to hide/turn off but can't figure it out. I have tried a Google and forum search but had not luck.I have attached an image. I'm talking about the white vertical line that cross each track.Thanks

Hello,I really don't understand what is happening. I've been using adobe audition a few times before and never had any issues with this. But today, everytime I want to select a part of my sêctral form to only hear the part that I selected, I hear the whole frequency, and not only the small part that I selected. Did I click on button or something ?Another thing that has been weird today is that when I try to push the buttons to zoom in or out inside the frequencies, it doesn't let me neither. I can zoom in and out in the clips sections but not in the herz section.I really don't know what is happening 😕😕If someone can help, please let me knowHave a great day,Fanette
