Audition

Hey all,I just installed a new update awaiting in the creative suite and highly regret it! Is anyone else having these issues:1.  MME stops working completey in Audition.2.  Audition not playing nice & refuses to see a working Focusrite Scarlet?  Audition states Focusrite as not working. (It is and has been tested with another recording software with no issue.  However, Audition fails to record from it. 3.  Lost all settings previously set up in Audition.  Had to reset all of my settings as they were wiped out in the update.  Now can not directly monitor vocals during recordings as there is delay no matter what settings input under ASIO and only two options to choose from with no customizing for adjusting latency. 

Dear everyone,I have been recording a podcast on two different computers, but unfortunately we were insanely stupid, and one of us have recorded in 44100 and the other in 48000. This means that when we sync up our audio files in a 44100-project, the 48000 file is a tad longer. Even if I re-encode it to 44100 - the file length stays the same. It starts out by being in sync, but sort of slips out of sync over the progression of the file. The files are about 1.5 hours.Is there any way to correct this. I've tried speeding up the 48000-file to the same length as the other file, but the problem persists. It still seems to loose sync gradually. I've even tried to record the complete file in to a 41000 file, but since the file is still longer, this doesn't solve the problem.It's for a podcast, and will in the end be exported in to an mp3, so any solution that effects the quality is also welcome. I've had to switch computers, and reinstall Audition. Now none of my sessions (including the most recent ones) can be read. Any thoughts?

Pan L and R control is nowhere to be found.  I have Adobe Audition CC 2018.  I have looked everywhere I can think of, have watched every video I can find, read ever forum - nothing anyone has said or done has worked.   If you flip the screen to Mixer, the pan icon shows up on the left column, half way down, not on the tracks, but it seems to have no function anyway.  CAN SOMEONE PLEASE SHOW ME HOW TO GET THE PAN FUNCTION TO EVEN SHOW UP????

I am using the late 2016 MacBook Pro with touch bar running Windows 10 Professional via Boot Camp. When using the "skip selection" function, it only plays a second after the audio selection. It should be playing everything in the selection.Please help. Thanks!

I can figure out how to actually set up auto ducking in Audition. However I'm having a problem round tripping a background music file into Premiere Pro. I expected that the original wav file would just have been changed and saved so that Premiere Pro could just run it, the way a sound cleanup works. However when I save the file the name I get for it  includes the phrase "extracted". Can anyone explain how to round trip file from Premiere Pro, auto duck in Audition, and return it to Premiere Pro?

I'm having the same problems as before. If no one can help, can someone recommend another course of action since apparently adobe does not support this software.I reinstalled the correct M-Audio driver, rebooted, and still only get analog inputs available which do not seem to allow audio in.

The inserts on my Master Bus are pre-fader.  Okay, if I automate levels on the Master Bus, that means the level hitting those plugins on the Master Bus will not change, right?  Just the output of the Master Bus will change, right?  IOW, automation levels ARE fader levels, right?So, for example, if I have a compressor on my master bus and I automate the master bus so that levels go up 1.5 dB, the compressor isn't getting hit any harder, right?

Wave file AWave file BThese 60 second wave files are exactly the same tune.  I am trying to get as close as possible wave B to match wave A sonically.  Compared to A, the bass in B is way down.  The midrange sounds flat as was well as the upper midrange like cymbals etcetera.First I normalised B to 0dB, then tried the Dynamic Possessing - Stereo Rock Mix.  Removed this effect and tried the Multiband Compressor - Pop Master.  Removed this effect and tried the Parametric Equaliser, boosting bass, midrange and higher frequencies.  None of what I tried gave me satisfactory results in trying to match file B to A.When normalising, what dB should I first use if I then use other effects and boost bass and upper midrange etcetera up 6 or 9 dB?Are Amplitude and Compression best to use for this or Filters and EQ?

I'm working on a multitrack recording trying to turn it into a final mix. I'm basically done with the editing and mixing, and am trying to export the final mixdown. I'm having a weird issue where whenever the rack power is off on one of my vocal master buses, a constant audio glitch covers both the left and right output tracks. The same occurs if I use the rack mix and set it to 0 (completely dry). It's not the effects in the rack, as it does this even when all the effects are powered off. This bug only appeared after updating to CC 2018. After reinstalling Audition CC2017, I also notice that the mixdown takes about 45 seconds in 2017, and only 15-20 in 2018. That might be something, or it might not.I've uploaded a sample of the bug to Dropbox. The rack is off for the the first part of the clip and on for the second. I have been looking around a lot and cannot find a solution to the few hundred 3.1 sessions I have and how to convert them to CC as I need to.  I have tried to re-install 3.01 to my updated windows 7 pro, but it will not open at all.  I have the original disc and everything needed, but NOTHING works.

Hello!!Id like to show the problems Im having when I try to trim or select a clip: So, either if i want to trim a clip (first image), or even when i select a clip (second image), the selected clip don't come to the front, and this makes the things harder to edit. I updated to CC 2018 and i was not having this problem on the previous version.Any idea anyone?!Thank you!

I'm having a huge and URGENT issueI have 5 tracks which all have Name, Album, Artist and Yr completed in the metadata.  I have created a new CD Layout and in the properties have put in the Title and Artist Name.I burn the CDWhen I play in the car, everything is displayed except for the Artist Name.  It's driving me crazy and I have to send this off for production tomorrow!Any ideas?

Hello,After reading  through forum posts i realise this has happened to a few people, i don't hold out much hope but just wondered if there was a fix for this particular issue yet...Working on a MacBook Pro running CS 6.I was working on a multitrack session, highlighted a section of audio that i wanted to export as a new file, this worked and then i had a message saying that Audition had encountered a problem and had to quit. I wasn't unduly fazed as the multitrack had been saved as had the .wav files in the sub folder that Audition makes. When i hit OK for the session to quit i got a really loud burst of digital noise in my headphones which was pretty weird and when i went to open the session again, the .wavs that i had been working on had disappeared. Nowhere on the computer to be seen. The other files in the session are still there where they should be but i'm missing an hours worth of recording. Does anyone have any idea to recover these files? Hi all, question from a newbie user here, I'm trying to remove the sound of an airplane going overhead in a video as a presenter is talking, I've tried without much  success with the Noise Reduction (process) and Sound Remover (process), has anyone got any other suggestions? I've attached a clip of the waveform of the audio, the airplane only passes over once as you can see so it's not a repeated sound which the Sound Remover seems particularly adept at dealing with

An issue with attempting to apply shortcuts (in build 11.0.0.199).  Most are not working, and with recorded favorites I have created, I am receiving an error message  "the recorded time selection could not be applied."  Additionally, I cannot open the "Visual Display" keyboard.  Forum suggestion is that perhaps I am using the incorrect operating system.  I am using Windows 10 HOME.  Grateful for any suggestions!  Many thanks!

Hey I am running The newest version of Audition cc 2017 and have a project I'm working on that was converted from a Premier CC project. I was working on it and getting it organized and everything worked fine, but this morning I opened the file and after reaching 100% on locating the audio files it froze and I had to force quit. This has been happening over and over I tried using the backups but it didn't work. Im running OS X 10.10.5 and all project files are on an external hard drive.

Hello,I am using AA_2018 for recording and processing audiobook narration.  I am now noticing that when I run my regular editing process on the waveform file, "noise artifacts" are being added to the final product that definitely were not there in the original file.  At the end of almost every sentence now, audible "clicks" are cropping up causing me to spend extra time and patience "healing" these artifacts to send to the client.  This has greatly reduced; significantly reduced; my workflow and is costing $ as it now takes double the time it previously did to process the file.  Prior to this version, I ran the same process below without the undesired effects I'm experiencing now.Here is my process;1.  Record as "clean" as possible the audio track (30min to 1 hour 20 minutes) in multitrack at 48000Hz/32bit.2.  Export the multitrack file to a folder for processing in the waveform editor.3.  Open the file in the waveform editor and apply; Room tone to t

I've been using Adobe Audition for years, but just upgraded to the 2018 CC version. When I try to mixdown a session to a new file it's all jumbled, and the timing is completely off. It only does this on sessions that have quite a few tracks (more than 16), so I would assume it has something to do with my system trying to keep up?I have a very fast system I-7 processor with 16GB ram, so it should be able to keep up just fine. It always kept up fine with previous versions.Any ideas?

Hello, I have 1 issue and 1 question if you can advice meThe issue: When I edit a sound clip in Pr with Au I can't export it back to Pr because the export to Pr option is always grayed out, so I have to save it as new .wav or.mp3 .. But what's the reason which makes the options grayed out?The question: When I edit a sound clip from Pr in Au with the Stretch and pitch effect there's a difference in the time duration of the Pr vs Au.. In Pr the time duration is like 00:00:00:00 but in Au the time duration is 0:00:000 (ex: if a 00:00:04:20 clip in Pr it'll be shown as 0:04:800 in Au) and this makes some issues when trying to expect how much the new duration that's shown in Au will be seen in Pr especially when dealing with parts of seconds .. So is there some way to make the time duration in Au like what's in Pr? or if there a method to use in Au to calculate how much the new time in Au will be shown in Pr?Thank you so much,

Hi Audition & audio novice question:My friend recorded a 60 second voiceover for my animated After Effects school project using her Mac laptop's mike and Quicktime. Its very ok-ish to my amateur ears but I wonder what a pro might do with this recording in Audition? This aiff is what I have to work with.I have only self-taught beginner skills with Audition and wonder if it could sound better?I put it on Google drive -  TobaccoLS2_edit_01.aif - Google Drive  (Ive been active in Adobe forums for yrs, no funny biz)  - should you be willing to listen —or even better, manipulate!Thx
