Hello, I'm working on a Podcast using a Macbook Pro, 16 GB, Monterey Version 12.5. I'm running low on storage. I had a loooong and frustrating phone/screen sharing session with Adobe Audition support today. I was looking for help understanding file/project storage (as in when/if/how to save my work to the Adobe Creative Cloud) and what's the best method for storing and backing up projects. The person I spoke with didn't really understand it much better than I did and had to keep putting me on hold, asking someone else how to do it. Two hours later, and I'm still pretty confused. While sharing my screen, he said he bookmarked an info page that explained how Audition worked with regard to saving and storing files. But, of course, he didn't. Does anyone happen to have a link that it explains this all well? Can anyone recommend an external hard drive for saving projects and files? Thank you!
A stereo signal with identical channels appears as a diagonal line from the top right to the bottom left in a Lissajous figure (with the y-axis upper part being negative). Why is it a top right to bottom left diagonal and not a top left to bottom right diagonal? What are the units of the coordinate axes? What are the units of the coordinate axes in a Histogram? Compared to a Lissajous figure, what are the different use cases for these representations?
Hello,I would like to create a very simple jsx script for Audition where markers are automatically created in an audio file at specific times. Does scripting in Audition allow to do this? If so I cannot find any info on that... Thank you

Adobe Audition and Optimize Speech Hello, How to explain that Adobe Premier contains the Optimize Speech function just like Adobe Podcast but not Adobe Audition. What is the logic? Adobe pushing to abandon Audition? Would the software be abandoned? THANKS.
Hello everyoneI wanted to ask whether Adobe Audition 2023 has the option to change the waveform from full to half.As an addition, I took screenshots to show how I imagine it. Thanks Mark
Trying to export multitrack Audition sesx file to OMF for a friend to use on ProTools.I do "File," "Export," "OMF" and try to run the export but it always fails, resulting in the same error: "Warnings: Clip duration is longer than source." I cannot seem to find ANYWHERE what this may mean, or how to fix it. Help, please? The first stages seem to go well:"Generating audio files for OMF export" - goes through this phase 2x and both seem to work. The second time goes faster than the first. There is another something that goes by too fast to see."Making composition tracks" does not finish and results in: "Warnings: Clip duration is longer than source."
Hey all, I recently upgraded my laptop (New ROG Strix) and I am encountring a really weird issue. When I start recording (both with my basic headset and with my Rode console) there is an issue that causes the record to stutter and not really record, its basically stuck and moves very slow, bottom line, its not recording. I updated my drivers and tried every solution found on the web. Today I noticed something weird, if I play any kind of sound (Chrome, Spotify, media player, anything) and then start recording it suddenly works. If I wait around 5-10 seconds and try to record it gets stuck again, I play something (pause it) and it works. It seems the fact I am playing something it unlocks something and Audition is able to record, like something goes on hibernate if I wait a few seconds. I am using the latest Audition version and Windows 11. Previous laptop was also a ROG gaming laptop with windows 11 as well, the audio hardware setup is exactly the same so I doubt its some
Hi,I have an Issue recording through usb on my Tascam M12: i'm recording a podcast using regular mics in a studio, and i have guests on a Zoom Call or Google meet. i want to be able to record the incoming sound from the call - separated from the online call.for example - two host are talking in the studio, one guest is on Google Meet. each mic in the studio is being recorded separately, but everything that is going on is recorded in the PC channel set to record the Google Meet. That makes editing the guest nearly impossible. I'm using Tascam M12 with firmware update V.141My usb input is routed through input 9/10 please help.Thx
When I'm listening to a recorded track I sometimes move ahead in the track and want to delete a breath or odd sound before the timeline makes its way to that spot in the track. I used to be able to delete that little section while the track was playing with no issue. Now when I highlight the area I want to delete and release my mouse the timeline jumps to the edit point. I've changed every possible preference I could see that would affect this issue and nothing seems to resolve it. Has anybody else had this issue and found the fix?
Whenever I re-open or import a file on which I have been working for any significant length of time, a great deal of ambient noise is added to it. This is occurring now in "Build 24.2.0.83," but it has always happened with every version of the program I have ever used. Is there a solution? I have found a work-around: To save the file under a new name every 5 or 10 minutes and then re-open it to see if the noise has been added and if so, to trash that file and open an earlier one, redoing the work done since it was saved. Pathetic!
I have 10 sequential wav files (apparently split by a Nagra VII upon export, otherwise recorded as single continuous stereo file) already imported into new multitrack session. None of the commands or buttons for adding to a track are working, individually or with all selected. What am I overlooking or misunderstanding? It appears I can drag them in, one at a time, so what is the purpose of the menu command and button? Also, can I drag them in simultaneously so that they appear sequentially in one track? Thanks.
Hello - not sure what I am wrong here, I am using a warm audio wa-47 mic and a scarlet 2i2 3rd gen preamp - get some distortion especially when pausing/stopping. I attached a sample of my waveform, it does not look normal...recorded in mono
Whenever I go to save or press any tab on the header Adobe Auditions tend to lag or freeze and run slow. It does pretty well for the most part just certain operations make it run slow I have an HP intel Corei3 8th gen processor, 930GB of space, 8GB of RAM Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-8130U CPU @ 2.20GHz, 2208 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s). Is my computer not compatible?
Sometimes when the source audio is somewhat loud, its waveform in Audition shows up as almost a completely a solid bar, and even when I zoom in it's still takes some time to find the song's breakdowns and drops. Is there a way to make it more readable? here's how the same song shows up Aimp The audio isn't even percievably clipped. I guess one can say it was mastered pretty loud but I see this kind of loudness pretty often, so it's safe to say that it's not out of the ordinary Audition version is 24
Am I the Lone Stranger experiencing this, or is there _HOPEFULLY_ someone who has been similarly tripped up AND has found a fix? I've used Au3 for MANY years, currently running on a Win8.1 desktop (downgraded the Win7 laptop to an SSD drive that doesn't have the necessary room to move). For most things this works fine, EXCEPT for a tool that I find frequent need for (but haven't been able to utilize for a LONG time now): editing out (modulating OR simply deleting) sub-areas on the spectral screen by the lasso or rectangular window selection. I can select things just fine, but whenever I try to DO SOMETHING with such a selection the session simply crashes and burns. Is there an intelligent protocol to attempt to diagnose the crash, if this is not a known/fixed issue? Anyone? I KNOW from posts I've read that there are other knuckleheads like myself that cling to their rusty, old tools with a passion, so for that quirk I remain undaunted. I just wish I could avail
Having been frustrated for years by the abject lack of documentation for Extendscript I find this to be phenominal. I just used it to create an extension for Audition (probably the least documented platform) that removes gaps between all clips in a miltitrack track. (Disclaimer: I have not tested this code, so there may be errors and it may not run at all.) As I disclaimed, this code is untested and as yet hasn't been run in Audition. Even so, the fact that it has providd a good starting point is astounding considering the ¯\(°_o)/¯ attitude of Adobe concerining documentation of Extendscript and CEF extensions, particularly in reference to Audition. This is a shame because Audition could benefit from scripting almost as much as Photoshop or Premier Pro. I'll not go so far as saying that it can benefit as much as After Effects because, obviously, AE is incredibly complex. This just blew my mind a little bit, so I had to share it. I have been trying to do this for years but the
After I zoom into the timeline waveform, if I hit the space bar to play, the Move - Restore- Minimize popup, opens up in Windows, no issues on Mac. It's not the end of the world but it's obnoxious to use this program having to stop and click off the box every time I make a zoom and hit space. This box
I have a number of old ASND "resources" pulled from an ancient (discontinued/abandoned) 68k macOS app; I think I used resEdit (on a 68k Mac) some years ago to do this; I was able to play the audio on that Mac. However, it's been many years and, although I still have the files, I no longer have a 68k Mac. Audacity is unable to do anything with them; I even tried importing as raw data (which did import something but the result was just a less-than-a-second bit of static. Likewise, Audition is clueless.I thought these were created with Adobe Soundbooth (as a web search revealed that ASND files are associated with that app) but Mac ASND "resources" pre-date Soundbooth's introduction by at least 13 years. If anyone knows of an app that can convert these ASND resource files to MP3 or anything playable today, I'd appreciate advice. I can't attach any of the files to this post but will be happy to eMail a couple (or post them in a cloud drive) if you'd like to attempt a conversi
Hello, I am using Adobe Audition for sound design for a short film for the first time and am finding that the clips I edit are audible outside of the edits. The sound does not start or stop exactly where I’ve edited it; it starts a few frames before the clip and continues a few frames after. This happens whether I have applied a fade or not. It seemingly creates its own fade, which exists outside of the visible clip, making it impossible to achieve the accuracy I need. Is there a way to fix this, or turn off this feature? Thank you!-John
Is there any shortcut to "Choose Multitrack > Track > Duplicate Selected Track"?Couldn't find any in the shortcut library. I need it f.e. when I position one instrument left and the other to the right. thankss.
Hi i have issues with having my audios being rejected from an online platforms for problems of white noise that i cant hear nor correct "please remove the white noise before adding the music. The static can currently be heard overpowering the music." since i bought a professionnal mic zealsound k66 and did edits with adobe audition. eventhough i put it at the top my sound is low and i have to enhace it digitally and i would like your feedback my white noise is at -100db which is very low but even that i had this feedback , do you have ideas? i put you 4 audios of 90 seconds (some audios begin at second10) i put the raw and the final version thanks so muchRAW https://youtu.be/Yr792kI-WgASUBMITTED AND REJECTED https://youtu.be/jzBFpDtMRnERAW https://youtu.be/EV3dsNNzBSUSUBMITTED AND REJECTED https://youtu.be/D9O_MCaWlZcThanks so much jihane
My team use Audition for Post Production Mixing, Sound Design, Podcast Editing and every day we demand a lot from it at an advanced level.I’ve found particularly over the last year or two that new releases and features have slowed significantly. We appreciate improved stability that has come with this, however it worries me going forward that as users we’re being left behind. What can you tell us about the future of Audition as a Digital Audition Workstation? What new features or workflow improvements can we expect? Is its functionality likely to amalgamate with other Adobe apps longer term?
Sorry maybe this is a stupid question since this should be obvious but I'm not 100% sure. If I open a track in Wavefrom view, and select all or part of the track, and then select an Effects Preset do all the Effects e.g. 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 inside that Preset get applied to the track one by one in that order once I click Apply?
Help! I have been working for over 18 hours on a podcast episode, and am now unable to open the file due to this error message I am receiving. I have been working with Adobe Audition for over 2 years and have never encountered this issue before. I am terrified that all my hard work is lost. Any advice you can graciously provide would be deep;y, deeply appreciated by me and my team!!!! I didnt do any updates overnight or anything, and there was no apparent program crash. The error message is: "The Byte Stream Type of the given URL is unsupported."
