Audition

I use an Allen & Heath XB14-2 and connect to my Dell XPS Desktop computer via a USB interface. IT had been working absolutely fine for many months, and recently I upgraded to the latest version of Audition and as best that I can tell it was at that point that I began to experience problems. When I broadcast, I run both Audition (as a recording software) and another program called RadioDJ (which serves as my player). Since the upgrade, I am experiencing USB connection failures - all audio transfers between the PC and the board stop (recording and playback). At that point, I have to unplug and re-plug the USB connection, re-start the RadioDJ software and re-configure the Audition I/O and resume. Clearly, that causes many problems.....I am looking for some guidance....JVJ

I recorded a live band this weekend using CUBASE 5 only because it gave me the option of recording 2 instruments and the vocals separately on 3 different channels. I was told I cannot do it on Adobe Audition 1.5, if I was given wrong info please let me know.So now I have a WAV of the voice by itself without the instruments. The singer heard it and said I need to use the recording software to add a little reverb to that particular WAV (voice only). What is the easiest way to do this? thanks a lot everyone

My agency just updated to Windows 10. I want emailed .wav files to open automatically in Adobe Audition CC. I can't find a way to make that happen. I can't even find a way to make it happen manually without first saving the .wav file and opening it in Audition CC. Before the update to Windows 10 it opened automatically in Audition CC. How do I get this feature back? What settings in Windows 10 or in Audition CC do I need to make?

Hello! My question: Why do the waves360 plugins work only in stereo mode in Adobe Audition CC? I add them to the 5.1 channels. I have a 5.1 speaker system for monitoring when mixing. Waves Um226 and s360 imager - sum R, L + LsRs. The sound is like I'm just duplicating a stereo signal. The sound is like chorus. I also tried to add plugins in the bus track (output and send). It does not work either. Maybe it's all about setting up track panner? In what position is the track panner supposed to be? And where do I add plugins Um226 and S360 imager stereo / 5.1 to make upmixing?  But Waves m360 manager on the master channel works fine!I have a choice between Audition and Pro Tools. Audition I really liked. Very comfortable. I hope that I will solve this problem with upmixing 5.1. Thank you!I'm already setting up a different track panner. What am I doing wrong?

These are my specs-AMD Phenom II X4 820 processor8gig RAM64 bit Windows 7, with Audition 2014 (or 2017)With M-Audio 610When I am doing playback the audio will be choppy, like going on and out and there is what can best be described as distortion. Now, weirdness is, sometimes it starts fine and then gets choppy, or it will start choppy and then become clear, and sometimes it is just choppy. Now, if I change the latency from 40 to like 100, it clears up and plays fine. Now here is a kicker, we replaced this machine above, as in this is the old sound machine that worked fine with a newer machine and that is when we first noticed the choppiness. Couldn't resolve so out the above machine back, where it used to work just fine, and now the machine above is doing the choppy like the new machine was. So truthfully, I think it could be the 610, but wanted to put this here first to see if you guys had any suggestions.

I occasionally get this type of audio noise with my Movo lav mic and Gopro Hero 3.Does anyone know how to edit out this noise?  I've tried some audio effects in Premiere with no success.Any help would be much appreciated!Bad audio- help me... - YouTube[Moderator note: moved to best forum]

Hello, I am new to Audition and am trying to figure out the simplest way to basically reconstruct, from the digital files, the continuous playback experience you get from listening to an audio cassette tape. Tape 1, Side A, Tape 2, Side B. The goal is to be able to hand a client the interview that he/she can just playback from start to finish. Here is the background:My organization digitized an large oral history collection. Each side side of the tape is a discrete digital file and now I want to reconnect them. I imported the MP3 files into the program and they were converted into .wav files. Can I now delete the mp3 files that are in Audition? Is .wav the default file audio type?I have tried putting each file into separate tracks and then doing a mix-down and the result is that there  is about 45 minutes of silence. Hello,I got a unique situation. I had trouble with this last week, but solved it with ASIO.I'm currently testing out my new show and I do need Audition for this. But now, I when I change the Audio Hardware to ASIO, I can hear stuff on RadioDJ but I can't hear myself when I talk. When I change to MME the opposite happens. I've tried WASAPI, but it sounds choppy.Oh my computer is a Windows 10 laptop.I also tried to ask help with this on RadioDJ, but they weren't helpful.Does anybody have any solution to this issue? I would like to hear both RadioDJ and my voice at the same time while I am recording.

When using adobe audition both CC 2017 and CC 2015, when recording the only sound I hear through my headset is a high pitch squeal.I' using an iMac (retina 5K)I have a microphone that is plugged into a M-Audio M-MtrackWe used this same exact set up and it  worked with the same adobe Audition in another computer and it works fine with garage band on this one.I tried several different settings to even get this to work, but, to no avail. even reaching out to the M-Audio support they tried to find the problem and made sure everything was set up correctly and couldn't understand why Audition wasn't working.

I was able to export my project from Premiere to Audition and 3 of 7 tracks came over fine. For the other tracks, the clip is there, I can even see the keyframes of the volume I had done in Premiere, but there is no audio (including no waveforms). Spent quite a bit of time working on the other 3 tracks before I even realized it. Any advice on what might have gone wrong?! !

I have installed the Reverberate plug-in.  It works pretty well to eliminate reverb -- I am using presets because I'm not sure how to set it manually.  In any case, when I apply it seems to randomly cut off some words -- I'm doing spoken audio.  Does anyone know why this happens?  Also, does anyone have other suggestions about how to eliminate reverb. I have noticed recently (past two months after new CC rollout (build 10.0.2.27), that my keyboard shortcuts start to disappear.  And I mean the regular shortcuts, like "Ctrl-A" and "Ctrl-C".  I've had to go back into keyboard preferences and re-enable them.  Has this happened to anyone else?  I'm running the iMac edition on Sierra version 10.12.3.  I've got plenty of RAM and disk space and cache.

Adobe Audition has always been a useful app for sound editing, but here is a problem I have with the program.I was using the programme and the programme mysteriously stopped. I then closed it with Windows task manager. After that, when I tried to open the program again, it did not even pop up anything on the screen. But when I opened the task manager, it said it was working in the background. Now I can't use the program and I really need some help here since I need it to finish my project...Please Help,KT

Hi Guys,  I'm running into an issue on the latest Audition CC 2017 on multiple computers. When I have a large file with 13+ tracks in it playback starts to take 5-7 seconds to start. (i.e. I press play to listen to the file, says "calculating playback" in the lower left corner, then 5-7 later it starts). I've tried increasing the buffer size of the ASIO driver, enabling optimal performance in Windows, with and without reverb.I've tried the file on several computers and it does the same thing. All three computers have 8GB+ of RAM, either an i5 or quad-Xenon processor, and run either Windows 7 or 10. When I check the system performance monitor it does not seem to be stressing the CPU or RAM much at all. We didn't have this problem with Pro Tools which we were planning on switching from but if Audition can't handle large files we may have to use that instead.Any help would be appreciated.Thank you!

In later versions of audition I was able to play the sound and make some changes to it, insert silence, before and after playhead, now if I make a selection the play start from where i put the mouse on and it loopplay the selection, i want my playback to cotinue form where i left it

Hey guys,I work for a university's athletic department doing sports broadcasting, as during the games I will always record the audio using a Scarlett 2i2 USB to send audio from the mixer to my computer. Never had any issues with it on my laptop, but recently switched to using a Microsoft Surface Pro 4.On two separate occasions when recording a game on the Surface, the recording, which is normally around 2-3 hours long per game, will render at only an hour and be sped up and a little scratchy. Bit rate and sample rate all the same as when I used my laptop.Is there something I'm missing here?Thanks for any help.-JT

In an effort to curtail freezing due to RAM usage, I have set "RAM available for (misc Adobe applications)" to 2 GB (leaving more than enough headroom for background applications/processes). However, when loading a large .sesx file (34 MB, 24 tracks), Audition's RAM usage exceeds this value up to two-fold, using the same amount as it did before I set it. Restarting the program doesn't help. I'm sure this amount of memory usage is a given for the size of the session, but it worries me that AA pays no heed whatsoever to the memory preferences.I am using Windows 7 on a laptop with 5.9 GB of RAM.Thank you!

Greetings all!  Forum newbie but long-time Adobe Premier user here. Running CC 2017 on a Mac Pro.  I'm feeling the need to learn Adobe Audition to improve the audio of our film productions and I would sure appreciate making use of a moderately priced control surface.  I know you can mouse click everything, but feel more "connected" when using peripherals.Would anyone be willing to share what control surfaces they use?  Info on this has been hard for me to find.Lee
