I'm switching from a Mac to a new Windows PC for my edit suite. I edit almost entirely in 5.1 surround. On my Mac, I used a Digi 002 as a sound interface. It has enough independent outputs to route each of my reference monitors individually. I'm looking for a decent USB 3.0 audio interface for Windows that has at least 6 independent outputs so I can achieve the same setup. Any ideas? I'd also like to have a master volume level in software to adjust the output volume. The downside I always had with my Mac setup was that there was no software control of the overall output volume, so to mix with my master fader in audition where it belonged was outrageously loud. I just had to learn how to mix with the master fader at -24db and then turn the master to 0 before exporting. I'd like to not have to do this anymore if possible. Thanks for any suggestions!
Audition CC 2017 and Experience Design CC (beta) are getting this same error, except Audition still manages to boot up. I've tried reinstalling the programs, the CC app is up to date and I've reinstalled AIR. I don't know what else to do. Should I just do an OS reinstall?
I have just completed a brand new version of the AmioWavpack plugin (along with the release of WavPack 5.0.0), and I thought I'd share it here. It's free and open-source.This plugin allow you to load and save WavPack files in Audition. WavPack is a lossless audio format just like the out-of-the-box supported formats FLAC and Monkey's Audio, but it offers some important advantages for Audition users. Specifically:Handles 32-bit float audio (same format that Audition uses natively)Handles any multichannel file Audition can work with (including all the channel identities)Saves all the Audition metadata allowed in WAV files (cues, markers, etc.)Support for "realtime" mode so you don't have to wait for a file scan every loadRetains WavPack metadata (like "artist", "title", and cover art in APEv2 tags)Unlimited file size (no 2GB limit)Fast operationThis plugin has an all-new Settings Dialog so you can try out some of the advanced WavPack features. The easiest place to get the plugin is on the
Sorry, if this is a new version of an another answered discussion, but if to be honest - i didn't find exact answer to this question in any of discussions here.WHERE ARE MY AUDITION EFFECT PRESSETS STORED?I know, all of you are now starting tell me that all effects are stored under /Library/Presets/Adobe/Audition... Sorry - it is NOT true. They are NOT there. There is one huge .xml file where all information is stored in absolutelly useless way.Example 1.I recorded a voice, more than one voice. And every of them have some slightly different effect needs. And then i make presets for each one (Johns'Voice, Billy'sVoice etc.) My friend or college needs to record Jons voice and needs exactly the same setup for effects ... and i just want to send him a preset. (Ok, i know, this is an utopia, there will never be identical setups in two different studios, but ... this is an example).? And ? How to do it? Where is my preset named John'sVoice? There is just one huge unusable use
Clicking this Favorite caused Audition to crash with a Fatal Error - "bad allocation". This behavior began after the most recent update within the past week or so. It worked previously. I have created a Bug Report. I couldn't find anything in the forum about this in this version (version 2017.0.1, build 10.0.1.8).
I just subscribed to Audition CC a few days ago, and have been using it for audio recording and editing without problem. But yesterday, I found I could not display a simple waveform, single-track window for recording and editing. Instead, I'm seeing something that looks like multitrack (lots of tracks), though waveform was activated. Did I just click something accidentally that changed the view? I've searched through the menus and can't find any way to change it back. What am I missing here?I'm working on an iMac with El Capitan.
Hi! I've installed Adobe Audition 2017, but it fails to respond when I try to open it. Then it refuses to quit (or even force quit). This problem may have been occurring before my update to 2017, so I'm not sure it's a result of the update. Has anyone else encountered this problem? I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling -- several times, in fact -- and the problem persists. Any advice would be appreciated!
Howdy,Got a new HP Envy that I'm running 3.0.1 on. I run a line in from a Behringer board. On playback, the audio is a touch over-baked, a slight bit distorted. Looking at the video file in edit mode, it looks like the sound card is clipping or compressing it at around -10db on only one side of each channel. I'm thinking is has to be an audio hardware setup issue, but cannot find a solution. Anyone got anything on this? Thanks.
I have a problem when exporting multiple tracks.I go to File > Export > Multitrack Mixdown > Entire Session and in Mixdown options I choose the tracks one by one... but, afer exporting, all the tracks have the same length. It compleates the shorter ones with silence at the end. I need each track to have it's own duration.Anyone can help me??
I want to extract the audio from a video, but I don't want to import that video to audition. Can I do that?I am working on Audition CS5.5Thank you!

Hi there!I am completely new to Audition. I will be using Audition coming up to record audio lectures of academic lectures and exporting them to .MP3 format for the web. Can someone point me to some "getting started" videos that explain how to create a recording project in Audition, do some basic editing, and export to .MP3?Additionally, I am interested in installing some of the loops and sound effects from the Adobe website into Audition for use in Audition. After I download the files, what would I need to do in order to bring them into Audition? Thanks!
Quite often when opening a multi-track session in Audition, several clips appear offline and I have to go to Link Media to make them available. However, the clips haven't moved and when I click Link Media the folder which is opened is the one containing the "missing" clip! Why does Audition seem unable to keep hold of the clips in a multi-track session?Robert
I am using the 2017 version of audition. The problem that I am having is when I try to apply an effect or a favorite to the entire clip (in waveform editor) it will apply the action to only a small section of the clip. Its always the same section about 2 seconds long. How can I fix this issue need the effect to stretch across the entire 40 second clip. Thank you in advance I am a novice at best with this software.
I have done a lot of editing in Audition, nothing complex, but I am comfortable with it.I have to edit a lot of Webex video (slide presentations with audio). I am really editing the audio, taking out questions, chatter, coughing, dead space, etc. I am starting with MPEG video (mp4).I know that you can edit the audio portion of a video, but are there any options for doing what I need to do in Audition? Thanks.
A few bugs slipped into the latest release of Audition CC, but an update is now available through the Creative Cloud desktop tool. Full details at Update for the 2017 release of Audition CC now available | Creative Cloud blog by Adobe but briefly this release addresses:Waveform may “flatten” after an edit, restoring when zooming or switching filesCrash may occur when exporting a session with media which contains a video file“Save As” path defaults to last used location, not source media location. (For last-used location, use File > Export)Performance of level meters dramatically improved when adjusting parametersMissing effect presets for updated effectsBounce Bus to New Track output may be incorrectThanks to everyone who reported these issues.

I want to use my MIDI instrument with audition, but do not find any solution to add a MIDI track in Audition (latest CC version). How can I use MIDI devices in Audition?
Can someone tell me how to convert .wav file to IMA ADPCM Mono 8000 4 bit? This may be a double post as I'm having trouble navigating adobe...if so, please forgive me.Would really appreciate some help.Using Audition cs6 for windows. Thanks
Just in case people have missed the announcement on the CC App, I just thought I'd mention that Adobe have come out with version 10.0.1 of the Audition 2017 version.I'll leave you to check the notes but it fixes most of the minor glitches people were finding in the original 2017 release.
I need to save a file for an old phone system and it's saying the supported format is: IMA ADPCM, 8.000 kHz, 4-bit HELP! 🙂
I have a bunch of old cassette tapes from when I grew up. My family listened to them a LOT. That, plus age, means many/all sound warped. Is there any way to remove or reduce that warping effect?I've saved a couple of them as .wav files, but after poking around Audition's menus, I have yet to find anything that looks like it might work. Nor have I been able to find anything via Google. 'Course, I'm a complete newbie when it comes to sound related stuff, so I might not even be searching for the correct terms... I did find Noise reduction techniques for Adobe Audition CC which sounds like it might be something that would help, but I have no idea how to even guess at what settings to try and see if it can fix anything...My setup is a RCA boombox connected to my computer's line in port via the boombox's headphone jack. I've then told Audition to record what the boombox outputs.I have Adobe Audition CS6 version 5.0.2 Build 7 running on Windows 10.Any suggestions on what I should search
I have Audition CS5.5 installed on this computer. When I try to open the program I get a message: the program has asked Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Can anyone suggest a fix for this problem. I understand that it stems from a choice made of where to save temporary files and that location being no longer available, but if I can't open the program there is no way to get in and choose another location![Title edited for question clarity and future forum search...
