Audition

Running Windows 10 and using the latest version of Audition (24.2), the program is shut down by my employer's antivirus (Sophos Endpoint Agent) whenever I open or create a new multitrack session with the error "Lockdown - malicious behavior prevented in Adobe Audition." This problem began when I updated to 24.2, and ONLY occurs with this version. I am able to work normally in 23.5, which I have installed seperately.  I've seen no other posts about this, and I cannot replicate it on other work computers with the same version of Audition installed.  Any suggestions or simular experiences? Am I at the mercy of my employer's system administrators and their chosen security program? Trying to avoid reinstall if possible, as it tends to wipe out all of my settings and preferences. 

Can anyone tell me what's happening here? I'm openning a SESX file in Audition that loads a bunch of different WAV files. It'd been behaving very normally until today, when it's now taking a long time to load these WAVs and gives me this "Reading Windows Media Foundation" message while doing so. Any idea what's up with that?

Audition keeps turning my microphone system volume down.I have my microphone volume set to 90% (in windows 10). When I load Audition, it drops my microphone volume drops to 50% which is too quiet for Audition to record properly. I then have to manually go into the windows sound settings each time to turn it back up. There are a few applications which can do this, and which I have fixed one by one, but I cannot find the setting in Audition to disable this action. I've changed the microphone setting so that applications cannot take exclusive control. Any ideas??

Hello, apologies for the boring feature request... Please could it be made possible (unless it already is and I'm missing something) to take snapping off keyframe automation so that you can slide between values.  For example, I'm currently editing something where I want to change the value between volume keyframes from 0 to +1. Instead of letting me do so easily, Audition will snap the keyframes to +1.6. Every time I try and move it lower than +1.6 it'll snap back down to 0. The only way to get it to act how I want it to is to zoom in on the keyframe panel - which is frustrating and a waste of time.  I can see why snapping might be useful, but having a way of toggling snapping off would be useful, especially when trying to move quickly through automation. Please see video example

Hey guys, Small but annoying and perplexing error message I've been getting for the past few weeks. I finish mixing down my track, go to save it as a .wav or .mp3 and I always pick the project folder that I'm using as the target destination for the export. I'm constantly getting this error message. Audition does not recognize the folder I literally just picked, says it does not exist and forces me to save on the desktop or either make a duplicate folder. I know it's a small thing but it has caused confusion more than once and adds another step.

Does anyone know why two of the four effects that I have on a multitrack recording are slightly red in dark mode?Ihave no idea what causes this because there is no obvious message attached.Any ideas? Thank You!

In the past couple of weeks Audition has been crashing frequently, saying that the files have no asset. Lost a lot of work recently. I've been using Audition for years and never had this issue before. Screen shot below. I'm working on an M2 MacBook Air with OS Ventura. Appreciate any help you can offer. 

Dear Folks, I accidentally deleted my copy of Adobe Audition 2020. My Mac won't update beyond High Sierra, which means the new version of Adobe Audition won't download. Is there any way to restore my original 2020 version? I can snap the head or tail of a clip to a marker, but I am unable to snap two different markers to each other. Is it possible?Currently using Version 24.2  

I am running the current program and Mac OS and am repeatedly losing project files.I always save before I quit, but every so often when I go to open from recent files I get "The file .... could not be found. Press browse to locate...." and when I look for it, it's not there.I see the backups, of course, but that does not seem like a good solutions because it seems like I will lose work here and there which... would be prohibitive.So what's up with that?

Hi, For a few months now, we have had a recurring problem when using batch processing. Passages from certain files seem to be replaced by other passages from other files.This happens at random times, when using different effects and on different workstations. This bug happens relatively rarely, I'd say, once every 100 files. It makes batch processing unusable, at the risk of destroying files if a complete re-listening is not done.I attach a before/after of two audios affected by this problem. Thank you in advance for your help. 

Hello! I have Adobe audition and I want to change the color of the menu bar to something darker but I can't (the white bar makes me look bad). I even switch windows to dark mode but the color of that bar is not changed. The high contrast mode allows you to change the colors of those buttons but it is not what I am looking for because with that mode everything looks very ugly.Maybe the solution is installing a program or something but I tried everything and I couldn't. I ask the question because I always work at night and, oddly enough, that little white bar between the entire black screen makes my eyes super uncomfortable. 

Hey all! I noticed there is a an option to select the next clip in your selected track in Audition’s multitrack view (Edit > Select > Next Clip in Selected Track). However, I noticed this only works if you already have a clip selected. If I don't have any clips selected, nothing seems to happen when I try this command. My end goal is to be able to make a cut in a clip, and then select the next clip to delete it without having to move my cursor (after adding some keyboard shortcuts). Am I doing something wrong here? Or is there just no functionality to select the next clip in a track, without already having a clip selected?

Hi all, I recently purchased a Behringer UMC 1820 to use as my interface as my old USB mixer is outdated. It does not seem that the UMC 1820 is compatible with Audition (according to Behringer support) The Audio Device would constantly change every few minutes and could not get it to be stable.  Can you all provide some good USB Interfaces you use? Especially any that are Rack mounted?  Looking forward to see what others are using as an Interface.  Thanks  Jay

Issue with the 'Switch to Next File' Functionality. [The current version is 24.2.0.83] When loading multiple audio files and using the mentioned feature, instead of moving to the next file based on the file name sequence, it selects the next file in a random order. Utilizing shortcut keys to select files in order of their filenames is crucial for editing large volumes of audio data. It would be really great if there was a feature where the script is displayed based on the audio file names alongside a text file.  Note: Please excuse any roughness as this was translated using a translation tool.Thank you. 

Not new to DAWs but very new to Audition.I'm switching to Audition from Garageband and want to export to .m4a for consistency with a project at work. I've tried a number of different combinations of export settings, but ultimately either get .aac or .caf outputs when done, even when the file name in the setting ended with .m4a. Am I missing something here?

Adobe audition.Doesnt matter what file type I open, when I press the spacebar it says its playing but the line doesnt move. Tried importing a WAV file - nothing, not even an error messsage. I unplugged the headphones and it gives an error saying the list of audio devices has changed...so It knows they are there. Premier pro audio works fine. Everything else is working.

I'm having some recording issues with recording audio tracks in Audition while using either the multitracl mode or the single waveform track mode. For context, I am using a Yeti snowball mic with A Mac M1 Chip notebook laptop. See below audio for example.

Hello! I am fairly new to Audition. I have audio that was only recorded (and can only be heard) on the left side. The right side has 0 input because of the way my audio was configured when I recorded. The right side does not have a little sound. It has no sound. How do I copy the audio I have on the left to be heard on the right as well? Thanks so much.

Since the Audition update, upon saving now every session winds up with the message below - I wait and wait, some files save with no issue, other operations never complete, so I have to quit and pray no revisions will be required.  Anyone have any ideas how to stop this?     using Build 23.6.0.61 

I started using Adobe Audition to record and edit podcasts. Everything goes great until I export (44100 Hz, 32 Float), when I click on the Mixdown file it sounds fine in Adobe Audition, but the .wav file sounds so different from the files I've heard over Audition. I've tried listening to the wav file on multiple devices, and different media plays and they all sound horrible except on Audition. The file in Audition sounds great, nice and clear with a good amount of bass, which is what I want. As a .wav it sounds so quiet with almost no bass and it sounds like the voices are in a tunnel far away from the mics.  I know this question has popped up over the years but I didn't come across an actual solution. My version is up to date, I even uninstalled and reinstalled it to make sure it wasn't just an old version. 

I am trying to export an Adobe Audition MP3 file to dropbox and getting the error seen in the screenshot.  I have to save it to my local drive and then I can upload it to Dropbox just fine.  It saves the .sesx file and all my editing just fine, it only has a problem with Exporting the mp3 directly to Dropbox. This is a brand new PC that I installed Creative Cloud onto, so I am sure I am just missing some permission somewhere, I just do not know where to look at this point.  Firewall has dropbox set as allowed.  Plenty of local drive disk space available and I am nowhere near my Dropbox limit.  My internet connection is also stable.
