I can't for the life of me figure this out. I've tried Googling, and I've read the documentation but can't find out how to do this. In Audition, when you click the Back or 'Move Playhead to Previous' button, it jumps back but stops at every single cut along the way. Is there a button to jump the playhead to the start of a session? In Ableton Live, you do this by double clicking the STOP button.
In the current version of Adobe Audition for macOS is there a function to allow record start when the audio signal reaches a certain threshold so I can record right from the beginning when playing instruments? For instance could I set an audio threshold to -25 dB's and then play at around -15 dB's to start the recording? It's a very useful feature for sound editors.
Hello,I am having a baffling issue where Adobe Audition is playing certain file's incredibly quietly (despite levels showing as peaking). This is an issue based in a classroom where our students are all using the same file. There are only 2 computers out of the whole class who are struggling with this. I have tried changing headphones, adjusting the audio hardware preferences, and, comparing to another clip which seems to work okay. If I amplify the audio it becomes a horrible mess of static and hissing. The system sounds for the computer are loud and work fine. Unsure what to do about this, as it doesn't seem to be a problem with the file (standard .WAV). The file works fine on all the other computers without any need for adjustments (amplify, sample rate etc.).If anyone has any idea it would be greatly appreciated as it has left myself and the tutor stumped. Thank you 🙂
I need your help choosing a new Windows laptop! I need this laptop mainly for editing sound in Adobe Audition. Based on a 2023 Review by ProRec.com https://prorec.com/best-laptop-for-audacity-adobe-audition/#lg-gram-17-benefits, the second-best Laptop for Audacity & Adobe Audition is LG Gram 17. In April I bought a brand-new LG Gram 17. Very nice and light laptop, very fast, with good battery time. Had only one problem: when editing in Audition, there was a delay between the sound and the mouse cursor, making editing difficult if not impossible.LG tried to fix the issue in their lab 3 times, but to no avail. More than a half year passed and I’m back to square one. I need a new laptop since the old one is getting really slow. I don’t want to go through the same torture again. Can you please recommend a laptop that is similar in performance with LG Gram 17 and that you are using and know for sure it will be compatible with the latest versions of Acrobat Audition? Tha
Hello,As I hover over any of the panels they either go black or reappear at random. The worst is when I'm saving and naming because I can't read the text line while typing. I'm working through it, but it is pretty annoying considering It wasn't doing this before I updated to 11.1.0.184.Does anyone know what could be causing this or if Adobe is planning on a fix?
Using Audition, my goal is to make a "CD" like file...one way too large to put on a normal CD, but rather to save it to a USB memory device. I've got over 40 3-6 minute tracks by title. Would like to be able to slide the device into a USB slot, hit play and have the device play 40+ songs in sequence without having to hit "play" for each track. Can this be done?
My friend and I have recently started a podcast, and we have been talking using Discord, recording the audio with OBS so as to get a separate audio track for each of us, and editing the episodes with Audition. This can be rather irritating, as I would prefer to use one application for both recording and editing. My microphone uses an audio cable connected to a USB adapter, as I have no microphone port on my laptop. Using Audition, however, I cannot record in multitrack using the stereo mix from my computer as the input for one track and my USB contraption as the input for another track, however, as whenever I set the default input device to one of those in the Audio Hardware settings, the other one disappears from the list of available input devices in the multitrack editor. Is there a workaround to this issue or is it simply not something that is possible to do?
I accidentally deleted an item in the Favorites dropdown menu. How do I restore it to the default list?
Hello and good day! I am having issues with my audio. It was working fine the night prior, but in the morning as I went to do more recording, it had all this static. I tried getting a new XLR cord, and that didn't work. I tried a new mic, that didn't work. I tried downloading new drivers and that also didn't work. I updated adobe audition and still no dice. The only thing I haven't tried is getting a new audio interface because I though I should reach out before making more blind purchases. I will attach a screen shot of before and after. both are taken in the same room with the same sound proofing and are raw. The mic I am using is an AT2035 audio interface is a Behringer u-phoria UM2 If anyone can help me out, it would be very grateful! Thanks
I am trying to do a simple, mono recording that I've done dozens of times, but for some reason Adobe won't record. When I click the record button, the playhead moves but nothing records (no waveform). My Sample Rate is 48000, Channels: Mono, Bit Depth: 16. I checked my audio hardware settings, and the input and ouptut devices are as they should be. The microphone (Yeti Blue) is lit up, so I know it is connected. Gain is turned up. Mute button is not on. My computer's privacy settings aren't preventing Audition from accessing the microphone, and the microphone array settings are normal. The Audition version I am running is Build 22.1.1.23. Any other ideas I can try?

I have been reading the documentation and trying out several options to add an AudioClip to a Track in Multitrack project in Audition. According to the documentation: [Object] add(AudioClip [any], sourceChannelRouting [Array])Add new clip to the track based on the passed in document or move the passed in clip to this track. I have 2 tracks, track1 with an AudioClip in it and track2 that has no clips.I can't see how to create a Document to pass into the add function. When doing this: let path = "/Users/name/Desktop/sound.wav" let openParameter = new DocumentOpenParameter(path); app.activeDocument.audioTracks.audioClipTracks[1].audioClips.add(openParameter, 0); The code runs without complaining, but nothing happens. I am able to get the "move" part mentioned in the documentation to work by doing this: let clip = app.activeDocument.audioTracks.audioClipTracks[0].audioClips[0]; app.activeDocument.audioTracks.audioClipTracks[1].audio
I just started to use Audition, since Soundbooth is discontinued, I have old multitrack ASND files and want to import them into Audition. It wont let me, my old computer still has Soundbooth on it, I am wondering if there is an uncompressed multitrack file other then ASND that would allow me to do that? Any help will be great.
Hopefully a straightforward answer for this. I'm having some issues with WAV file playback on a hardware sample player. The manufacture has recommended that I use Audacity to export my files (a metadata issue, possibly? Though I make sure I don't include any in my WAV exports). I've spent the last year using Adobe Audition which I'd like to keep using for editing/processing. So if I export a WAV from Audition, open the file again in Audacity, then save it from there, does anyone know if I'd encounter any issues such as a quality loss, or any other potential headaches? I'm on an iMac running Ventura 13.3. Thanks!
Hi,Im digitizing a bunch of vinyl LPs and want to find the easiest way to export each of the tracks.1) I can define each track of the album using a range marker. Is there a way I can drop que markers between each track and then let Audition figure out the range between adjacent que markers. (Im trying to avoid the range drag step)2) Meta data. When I export the tracks, I hope I can automate audition to automatically label the track number to the track name, so each track has a unique sequencial number. I can't see how to do this in the meta data editor
When exporting an OMF from Premiere and importing it into Audition or ProTools it appears that the clips lose their effects and gain settings. Is there any way to keep those? This isn't a huge problem because the post sound engineer will probably zero out everything anyways but it would be nice if they could use what I had done as a starting point if they want. Right now they have to refer to the accompanying screener to hear my mix. What's the best way to retain fidelity when sending audio for a mix (assuming this could go to Audition or ProTools, I have no say over what they use)? Thanks!
Good Day to All....I am curious as to when or if Audition will support the ARA or ARA2 protocol soon. It would be a blessing to work within audition with apps like spectralayers for finer editing. These apps use ARA and as of now you cannot use them as plugins within audition....Does anyone know if this will be able to happen soon ?-Scott
I have recorded an audio book with a client using a Shure MV7 microphone. We recorded directly into Audition and both times, I've wound up with nasty distortion anywhere around the 200hz to 600hz area. It's difficult to describe but the man's voice sounds metallic. It's horrible. On the Spectral Frequency Display you can see the bright density of the yellow in those regions, and in the worst places, there are little dark patches (if you zoom in to the attachment you will see.) Recordings were all done at a safe level. This particular audio book chapter peaked at -6DB in a couple of places. The bulk of it fell around the -12DB mark. I couldn't pick up the distortions at the time of recording because unfortunately I was using a woofy old set of headphones after lending the good ones to the talent. Currently for the edit, I am zooming in to EVERY little solid yellow or dark coloured patch, getting the paint brush, painting it over and reducing the level by 3 to 6 DB to lose
Hello, so I have this problem, I tried to edit a sequence in audition from premier pro, when finish the editing in audition, I tried to export to premier pro but is not taking the changes in premier pro, is like before so please help
Dear Community, Maybe you can help us! 🙂 We are trying to export an Audition Session with all the Data as Copies. We are working together on the project, so I must have the Session with the Data Copies, too. (For editing and safety reasons) We tried it this way: Data -> Export -> Session -> safe as Auditon-Session (*sex.) -> took the Box with "Save copies of the files" -> OK. After that comes an Error Notification: "Some or one file in the Session does not have the correct format."We´ve been through it ALL ... we only use mp.3 and wave Data for editing. Why is it not possible to export the Session and the Files? What could be wrong?? THANKS for sharing your ideas!
Using 2020 Audition. When I highlight an area to edit, the audio continues to play beyond the highlighted area. This just started. I have shut down and restarted Audition and my computer without any change. Any thoughts?
About 11 or 12 years ago I purchased Adobe Auditoion 3.0. I installed and registered it legally. When the computer it was on crashed, I stopped using the product, and eventually tossed the old PC away. I still have it in the original packaging with the install codes on a sticker on the back. Now I want to install it in a new Windows 10 computer. Can I do that?
My Audition multitrack has been lagging in speed and performance when the tracks begin to grow, how can I fix this, thank you so much
Hi!! I was recording on Adobe Audition earlier and left it unsaved but with the laptop still turned on and plugged in. When I returned the computer had crashed and I had to disconnect it from the electricity supply and take out the battery to restart it. When it finally restarted there was a lot of the files I had recorded still on Audition but several more had disappeared. Can anyone offer me any advice as to whether I can retrieve these files or should I just be glad that at least there's some of them still there and go and re-record the missing ones (about four hours work!!!)? Many thanks in advance for your help, DLarks
I run the podcast for my company and I am definitely a beginner. I successfully used Audition last year to record and export episodes of our podcast. The longest episode was 45 minutes long and maybe took 10 minutes to export at the most. All I do is clean up the audio by denoising and cutting out unnecessary words and spaces. There are 3 tracks: the intro/outro spoken word (recorded in Audition), the main podcast material (recorded in Audition), and the intro outro music (brought into the audition from a separate file). I'm getting multi-track mixdown export times of 3 hours for a 30-minute podcast. I don't believe I'm doing anything different than I did last year when I had no issues. Also, the export times seem to be random I might try to export it and it will say anything between 1.45hrs -133hrs. Besides denoising, no other effects are used. Another thing I've noticed is that the export time indicator seems to keep rising exponentially. Any suggestions on what could be going
