Loaded the 2024 update to Audition and experiencing a couple of bugs. I record voice audio directly into Audition using a Samson Q2U handheld dynamic USB mic with a pop screen and a boom. Laptop is a 2020 MacBook Air with the 1.1 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 processor and Sonoma 14.0 OS. Since installing the newest version of Audition, I am getting dropouts on playback. The sound will "jump" or skip a whole second and then pick up a word or two later. There's no silence in between, but rather a mashup within the sentence. Secondly, I am experiencing a grainy or scratchy audio quality on playback. It's clean in my headsets when recording, but I get a slight distortion during certain parts of playback. I have adjusted the gain and run DeClicker (which I always do) to no avail. Wondering if this is a hardware or software problem. Also, I have read that the WiFi in my home could be "competing" for processing space, which could cause the dropouts. Does the WiFi have to be on when I am r
Do you know what I mean? That added blank space that's added after encoding audio to mp3s? mp3s exported from audition used to have that. But now it's gone. For most of us, that's unwatned. To me though, I have utilized that space as a "breathe/pause" for my voice overs (I export one mp3 per line)And so, believe it or not, I miss that extra space. Did Audition "solve" that and it's now gone? Or is there something that I can do to bring it back?
Not the biggest deal but posting because of curiousity. When I use any other audio recording program the audio levels from the mic are reactive and snappy but for some reason they lag in Audition? Is this a stupid setting I am not aware of? How does such a major company stuff something up that so many free programs have never had an issue with? Why are the levels lagging in Audition? At this rate I'm genuinely never using Audition again
Hello, I wondered if anyone could please advise me on how to access more voices on Microsoft, and how to get Adobe Audition to recognise these voices as options? I have tried Zero2000 which I saw recommended on a Microsoft users forum, but I was not able to download the voices I wanted (British English, as I work for a UK company who want to text-to-speech for some videos). I have to request permission from IT to install .exe files, and when we sat down together to install the voice files from Zero2000, unfortunately it was recognised as malicious. If anyone has any recommendations on a safe way to get access to any more voices, I would be very grateful. Thanks very much!
I'm not sure what has changed since I last ran Audition a few days ago, but I attempted to this morning and found that immediately I get the a dialog box error stating:"The code execution cannot proceed because MSVCP110.dll was not found. Reinstalling the progam may fix this problem."I found this link: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/missing-msvcp110dll.htmlI checked my version of the creative cloud app and it appears up to date ( I even reinstalled it) at version 5.5.0.617.I then went to the directly mentioned in the above link, but found no vcredist_x64.exe to run.I uninstalled and reinstalled Audition and the error persists. Does anyone have suggestions on what to do to fix this issue?
I often record hours of audio in multitrack sessions. I do a lot of work within the session before editing even begins. I have markers, mixing, effects, and so on, often as a result of going over the recorded material with the artists, and I keep all those markers and notes in the long multitrack session in order to know where my splices will be, and it helps keep things synced with any recorded video that I may also need to splice alongside my audio. As a result, it is much easier to continue working within the same session. If I start a new session and copy/paste my audio in, none of my markings follow (and yes, I know you can now mark individual clips within a multritrack, but the feature is underdeveloped for my needs). So instead, I start editing in the same session (saving versions as I go). As I edit and trim the time down, the session drops from 3 hours, to 2 hours, to 1 hour, to perhaps as little as 5 minutes of audio spliced together. And then I'm left with all this &
In an Audition multitrack session, there are a number of tracks that I want to control through keyframes. In particular, I want to move the Rack Mix from Dry-->Wet-->Dry again over about a 3 to 4 second period. On the rack is a single effect - FFT Filter - set to take out majority of the highs and mids (think underwater kind of sound). The keyframes are lined up to where they need to be. Scrubbing manullay through shows the Rack Mix slider moving as it should - from dry, to wet, to dry. However, when playing the session, the acctions happen about 1 to 2 seconds earlier - before the playhead has even hit the keyframe. Furthermore - when I step through using the arrow keys - the rack mix jumps all over the place (100, 0, 86, 0, 4, 86, 100....etc). Initially I manually created the keyframes, clicking and dragging, then I started again and created using the 'Write' method that copies the input that I make - problem occurs both times.&nb
I am working on sound bites, modifying the PITCH and STRETCH using the supplied Effects (process) plugins. What's happening is that Audition is not saving these changes correctly. That is, I apply the effect, verify it's what I want, SAVE the file. I go to listen to the file, edits are there, but the effects are not what I ordered -- they are a bit faster. This is a bug, I can reproduce this each time, even after restarting the application. This is on MacOS Monterey (up to date with patches).
When I route any track via a bus before hitting the final mix bus (I.e. VO -> Dialogue Bus -> Main mix, rather than VO -> Main mix), all plugins on the source channel meter audio about 2 seconds before the playhead passes over the clip. This happens regardless of buffer size and project. This also happens regardless of the plugin, if it's a stock EQ or plugin from any 3rd party developer. It makes it very difficult to mix anything in realtime that's routed through several buses... I can't imagine this would be by design or useful in any situation, thus I assume it's a bug... Please help!
While editing a multitrack file I need to quickly rewind to the beginning and In point, resp., to be able to compare two tracks. For this I'd usually use the keyboard shortcuts <HOME> or <Q> (on my Windows machine). However, none of them work during playback. Is there an option in Audition that's activating playhead keyboard shortcuts during playback?
Hi all. Editing a long five-track podcast. Loaded up the file this morning and one of my tracks randomly stops playing the audio, even though the waveform is clearly there (And was working yesterday as I was editing it).I can SEE the waveform, but no sound plays. Also, earlier in the track, the audio plays just fine.Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix? Can provide more screenshots if that helps. Audio outputs seem ok as I can hear all the other tracks, just this one, after a certain point in the session.Thank you
I reported this issue a year ago. I've seen others complain about this issue, too, but I do understand that it only affects some hardware systems (mine included, unfortunately). This occures from 4 different scenarios; (1) after opening any project, the first time I play a multitrack, the audio (all tracks) will cut-out after about 7 seconds. It looks like audio should still be generated (levels are bouncing around) but there is only silence. If I stop playback and re-start playback it continues playing as expected without the interruption (except for the other scenarios) (2) After a few hours of use, audio will cut-out. Again, it looks like audio should be coming out (levels are bouncing around) but no audio. In this case, the only recourse is to re-start Audition. (3) if looping playback, audio will cut-out after some number of loops. The tighter the loop, the faster the cut-out will occur. For instance, if I'm looping over 2 seconds, I
I'm aware of the issue that auto-recovery will pick a backup that was not your latest backup (and therefore, you loose work). But I've never had that issue because I've never seen auto-recovery actually succeed at all, ever. You get that? That's a 100% failure rate. Any time I've ever attempted to utilize the auto-recovered session, the recovery process ends with an error dialog which list files which could not be found and the list then contains every wav file that is part of my project. I've been working with Audition for 2 years now and never once has that feature succeeded. But, since others complain that success ends up with an old session, I conclude that it must be successful for other people. So, I'm just wondering how many other users out there experience that auto-recovery failing to find any of your wav files?
I want to use the levels window to monitor, well, my levels without getting the audio playback from it. Anyone know how to not get the playback?
Hello, I'm running a 2023 Macbook pro with Audtion 2024. I created a project with recorded audio files and exported a mixed MP3 to use for a podcast. (everything went fine) The IssueI needed to make a few edits to the project and it will not play sound. I have the file saved in two different locations. (desk top and external hard drive). Neither location will play sound. The imported files that are a part of the project will not play either. However, other auditon project will play without issue. What I've done to trouble shoot. Updated auditionrestarted computertried to use a back up from projectchecked audio hardware preferenceschecked computer soundtested different projects (sound worked)
To create a news recording I hit the record button. A window pops up to enter the file name. When you click OK the recording start immediately. A countdown timer would allow time to inhale and prepare for recording.
Just recently got a Mac Studio 2 Ultra(came Sonoma already installed) and I'm running Audition 24.0.3.3. I tried to install a Presonus Studio 68C with it today but cannot record on it. The Presonus hardware and mapping is showing up in Audition and I'm getting sound through the headphones and speakers but nothing when I try to record...just a flat line. I'm afraid it's a Sonoma issue but hoping it isn't. Any feedback will be appreciated.
Hello, I'm having issues with the audio quality of a recording. I'm using a Pyle PMXU43BT.5 4 channel audio mixer with two Donner DC20 Condenser microphones with XLR hookups. The Pyle Mixer is connected to the computer via USB. I'm getting this odd kind of distortion or something in the recording. Both mics have the same issue which leads me to believe they're not faulty and no matter how much I mess with the gain, levels, etc. the problem is still there. No better, no worse. This leads me to believe it's probably Audition that's the issue. I'm using the 2023 version if that helps.I've linked to a video here with the audio so please take a listen if you think you can help. I also have some pictures of my current settings as well:Thank you in advance, this is endlessly frustrating.https://youtu.be/O1e7WK-wOfs
Hi, after exporting my project, my .wav file is clear for the first 7 minutes or so and then I get extreme brown noise. If I export a time selection anywhere in the project- same thing, first 7 minutes are clean and then the "jet engine!" I've removed all third party plugins and pre-rendered all tracks. Help appreciated.
File displays waveform, but plays silence.mac OS 12.4, Audition 23.3This has happened a few times, and I'm at a loss as to "why."A student records a podcast on my SD MixPre. Copies the file onto an external hard drive for editing. Imports the file into Audition. Uses it to create a multitrack session. Edits the podcast. Saves, exits, hands me the hard drive. When I open their multitrack session in Audition, I can see the file(s) on the timeline. They clearly have waveforms, good levels, should definitely have audio. But when I play it, there is only silence. Nothing moving on the meters, either on the individual track(s) or the main output. If I double click one of the files on the timeline, or from the Media bin, it opens in the waveform editor. Again, the waveform is there, but when played, only silence. No flicker whatsoever on the meters.Using "reveal in Finder," it shows the file on the hard drive in a subfolder called "Imported Media." If I preview that file, or open it in other m
Hi all...Is Audition able to conform (not sure if that´s the term, I apologize for my English) editing changes from premiere? In order not to have to redo the whole sound part. Thanks a lot
I imported every track I need and can hear them. But for one of them I can't hear anything from it at all? is there something I can do to fix this issue?
I updated to version 22.3 recently and ever since then, the CTRL + Tab or CTRL + SHIFT + Tab functionality has been broken. It pops up the list of open files for half a second and then that goes away and it doesn't swap to a new file. I've remapped the buttons for Switch to Next File and Switch to Previous File, rebooted, uninstalled and reinstalled 22.3 and nothing seems to have worked. I finally uninstalled 22.3 and re-installed version 22.2 and now it's working again, which leads me to believe it's something wrong with 22.3 and not my computer itself. Or, at the very least, something weird in 22.3 that doesn't like my computer or Audition configuration or something. Has anyone else run into this issue as well? It really broke my workflow until I got 22.2 back again. I'm running Windows 10, if that helps.
Hi all, Is there any effect in Audition that lets you compare two channels and automatically lower (or remove) the leaked in audio from the other channels. So the voice of person 1 is automatically lowered or removed from channel 2, and vice versa. I have decent michrophones but the setup is not perfect and a lot of audio spills over from the other person at the table. Using Audition 24, Macbook Pro. Thanks for any help.
Any volunteers?Adobe offers no way to report the myriad of bugs. Because of that, those bugs stay in the software version after version, year after year.We can't change that but the community could setup an outside issue tracking system which would at least provide workarounds for the bugs that have them. Any volunteers?
