Hi!! I was recording on Adobe Audition earlier and left it unsaved but with the laptop still turned on and plugged in. When I returned the computer had crashed and I had to disconnect it from the electricity supply and take out the battery to restart it. When it finally restarted there was a lot of the files I had recorded still on Audition but several more had disappeared. Can anyone offer me any advice as to whether I can retrieve these files or should I just be glad that at least there's some of them still there and go and re-record the missing ones (about four hours work!!!)? Many thanks in advance for your help, DLarks
I run the podcast for my company and I am definitely a beginner. I successfully used Audition last year to record and export episodes of our podcast. The longest episode was 45 minutes long and maybe took 10 minutes to export at the most. All I do is clean up the audio by denoising and cutting out unnecessary words and spaces. There are 3 tracks: the intro/outro spoken word (recorded in Audition), the main podcast material (recorded in Audition), and the intro outro music (brought into the audition from a separate file). I'm getting multi-track mixdown export times of 3 hours for a 30-minute podcast. I don't believe I'm doing anything different than I did last year when I had no issues. Also, the export times seem to be random I might try to export it and it will say anything between 1.45hrs -133hrs. Besides denoising, no other effects are used. Another thing I've noticed is that the export time indicator seems to keep rising exponentially. Any suggestions on what could be going
Hi all, I need help! I uploaded the edited version of an episode of my podcast to Adobe Enhance. After, I lost that file (let's say its in my desktop computer and I dont have acess to it at the moment). So, to avoid having to edit the whole episode again (it takes me agesssssss), I was hoping there is a way I can recover the file I uploaded to Adobe. Does anyone know if that is possible and how to do it? Adobe Podcast is still a beta platform and has very little information, so I havent been able to find an answer anywhere. Thank you! <removed- kglad >
Just getting started in VO. Had been using Audacity because it was free. Decided that long term, switching to Adobe Audition was the right play. \I downloaded and installed Adobe Audition/I have a Fifine T693 USB microphone plugged into my Dell laptop running Windows 11. I can still record in Audacity. I can record in Audition off my Dell internal mic. I can test the volume level in Audition. But when I try to record with the Fifine mic in Audition, it doesn't record anything. After having researched similar topics in this community, I have confirmed that I have the Fifine mic as default input. Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, John
I think I may have hit a key I shouldn't have! LOLIn Edit mode, starting play from the cursor now jumps ahead approx 30 secs & then starts playing from there (I've also got Audition CS6, which is OK).I've restored the user settings folder 2.0 in C:/users/name/roaming/adobe/audition, & that fixes the problem. However, when I try to record, it then starts going funny there with jumping. Then when I go back to Edit mode/play the jumping forward exists again. As it's a very old version, I can't expect much of a response, but thought I'd try here, before to a complete re-install, or only start using the CS6 version. Big thanks to anyone who can help.Gary
I've mixed a multitrack session, I now want to copy all those mixer settings to another session that is already recorded as a quick start to mixing that one. How do I copy all the mixer levels and inserts? Thanks
Hi, I've used Audition for years and after downloading the latest version - 2023 - I've encounted a number of problems, the most infuriating being the error message 'Not a valid Riff file' when I try to open a project. I'm opening it from an external hard drive and all the files are Wavs - often conformed by Abobe when I import them. I have no idea what's happening as there was never an issue before. The only thing which seems to have worked - and I've only tried it once - is saving the project locally in the Adobe folder on my desktop. But this isn't a proper fix as I use a laptop with very limited space, hence using the external drive in the first place. I've attached a photo for reference.
Hello! I am having some recording issues in Audition. I have been using a USB microphone to record, and it records fine in other applications other than Adobe. One day I went to record and Audition would not register any audio input. The help team with Adobe tinkered for 2 hours but was unable to fix the issue. I have tried reserting the settings to default, uninstalling and re-installing audition, and reconfiguring the microphone on the computer settings but nothing has worked. Can anyone help? I have attached files below of the issue.
Is this a new one? I'm getting sounds with actions within Adobe Audition using UA Apollo twin x USB and Windows. Here's what's happening: https://youtu.be/1TKxWN2mDHkOpen app: a sound. Start/Stop recording: a different sound. Start playback: another sound. Swap apps and return to Audition: oh hey, a notification sound. It's only in Audition, no other Adobe app nor any other app in Windows. It does this whether I change settings in Prefs>Audio Hardware/Mapping from ASIO UA to MME Default (UA USB). I have no other audio drivers installed. I have Systems Sounds (Asterisk, Start, Notifications, etc) disabled. It did not do this before installing/using the Apollo interface - I previously was using a Behringer 302USB mini mixer for my XLR Mic input and did not have this issue in Audition.Version/System details:Audition 23.6.1.3Windows 11 Pro 22H2 OS build: 22621.2283
Hello all,First time posting on the Audition Forum. I'm a longtime poster on Photoshop and Premier Pro forums and now I'm starting to pay more attention to audio. Is it possible to record - in Audition - whatever is currently playing on the speakers on my Mac Mini? I'm just using the green speaker output jack on the back of the Mini to a pair of external speakers, but can Audition get the audio from inside the computer somewhere/somehow? I've tried monkeying with the Audio Hardware input/output preferences, but no luck. Can I just run the speaker output into the microphone input??? I have a cable that would do that, but I don't want to blow anything up .I'm running Yosemite (10.10.4) on a mid-2011 Mac Mini with Audition CS6.Thanks in advance for any suggestions.Kevin H.
I've read various posts and articles related to my questions, but none fully provide the info I am seeking. Most seem to be focused on voice recording and podcast optimization and editing. Goal: convert vinyl record music tracks to digital filesTools: Audio-Technica AT-LP120XBT-USB (w/ USB out & built-in preamp), MacBook Pro w? M1 Max, Adobe Audition 23.1.6.3 (latest) I've recorded full album sides as WAV 48000 Hz Stereo 32-bit floating-point.Peak ampitude: -5.04 dBTotal RMS: -22.02 dBDynamic range: 44.00 dBLoudness: -19.02 LUFS I'm planning on applying the Clip/Pop Eliminator effect and then exporing ranges as individual WAV tracks. I'll export as AAC or convert to AAC (best quality) in the Music app so it will synch with iCloud and play on all my devices. Questions:Is this the best format and settings for what I am trying to accomplish? What ampitude settings are most important and what are the suggested numbers to hit?Should I apply different effects, more eff
I need to record my voice overs, and spend already considerate amount of time studying how to do it properly, and just now, when I thougth I am almost ready to record... I found that sometimes my voice shows over 45khz on Spectral Frequency Display in Adobe Audition.I need to siginifantly reduce the microphone gain to low signal to not have this issue.I have shure sm 58 which was the mic of my choice and Zedi 8 audio interface.I am quite confused about this, because whenever I reach these over 45khz (recording in 96 000 sample rate) the sound is slightly distorted - and It is like this regardles of the gain level (unless it is quiet quiet) - which means - It reaches this distortion at -2db and at -8 db as well.now I got pretty confused about this and tried to record a new audio file in 192 000 hz - and it shows clearly that my voice reaches there about 55khz tops, but here it does not seem to distort it the same way as if I would record in 96 000 sample rate.I am just beginning and put
So in short, I have tried using different mics including Blue Yeti and Shure MV7, and get the same issue. I am recording at a bit rate of 48kHz and tried different I/O buffer sizes, but I like to stick to lower ones (i.e. 32 or 64 to reduce the audio latency In my headset. An example during my recording would be something like me saying "The man woke up to go to work at 6 am in the morning". Out of nowhere as I am saying "in the morning" I'll hear feedback of myself slightly delayed right after saying that just a bit louder saying "IN THE MORNING" and it will throw me off. So it'll be like saying "In the morning" and then hearing "IN THE MORNING" a second time right after even though I only said it once. The odd thing is that even though I hear that twice, when I go back to listen to it in the recording, it all sounds normal and I am only hearing those few-word feedbacks which are louder, only every now and again while I am actively recording and NOT in the recorded track. It is a
I've heard that Windows will stop supporting Windows 10 after 2023. I'm trying to find out if my Audition CS6 will work on my Windows 10 Home OS in 2024. Does anyone know for sure if my Audition will continue to work on my Windows 10 in 2024? Thx!
I'm on an Mac Studio M1 Max running OSX Ventura 13.5.2 and Premiere build 23.6.1.3 and all audio, no matter what the file is, will export missing the beginning of that audio EXCEPT mp3. I'm having the same exact issue in Premiere so I think it's the M1 but it's driving me crazy. There's zero markers in the files either so it's not that I have a certain part exported. I'm kinda at my wits end with this.
Hi there -I am curious if anyone knows how to extract a simple envelope from a complex audio signal in Adobe Audition.Something along these lines: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Envelope_detector Thanks!
I'm having a problem recently where any multitrack project I make cannot be opened after I close the app. Audition runs perfectly fine when I'm making the project, but once I save and close, it stops responding and goes rainbow wheel every time I try to reopen any project. I'm working from a MacBook Pro M1, Audition is up to date, and my internal SSD has plenty of space, I've even tried saving projects to both my local drive and two separate external drives with the same results. I know it's an issue with my own computer because copies of the projects will open on other computers but not mine. Do you have any tips on how to fix this? I've already rebooted and installed a fresh copy of Audition. Not sure what else to do.
So an unusual question perhaps. As part of a person al demo I have a rock avalanche happening on Mars.I undertsand there is some atmosphere on Mars so I assume there would be some sound travel, unlike say on the lunar surface. So to be physically accurate, how would you modify the sound of a rock avalanche on earth to make it sound like it is on Mars? The same just less loud or a bit muffled or?
I'm using Adobe Audition CC (2018) to record a 5000 word corporate Explainer voiceover. I normally just remove breaths individually using either the insert 'silence' or delete method. However it will take far too long to do this on what will be an approximate 30 minute recording. Is there a way that I can remove or reduce breaths in one go? Also, secondly would this also work for mouth noises/ clicks? I'm quite new to using Adobe audition and voice recording and although I know how to use the Noise Reduction capture and process functions, fast breath removal is a new one on me. Any tips/ pointers would be appreciated. Please note that I am not in any way a sound or music engineer so simple non-tech language works with me
I'm trying to import a folder of presets and keyboard shortcuts into 2023 adobe audition. I've gone into Windows C: > User > Public > Documents > Adobe > Audition and deleted all folders (labeled 22.0 and 23.0), then I inserted my folder with the custom presets that I recieved from my engineer (labeled 23.0). Files in this folder are .xml However, when I go back into audition after these steps the app is still using default settings/presets.I should mention these presets were previously installed by my engineer and working fine, an adobe agent had me delete all my adobe apps (a seperate issue) so my app is back at default. My engineer doesn't have availability to re-install- Any help would be appreciated!
Hi everyone, long time lurker here. Thank you for all the great advice and support you give (especially SteveG!). I am a very very long time Audition user and am far from a novice. I'd even say I'm a pretty advanced user. However, in recent times, it feels like it has almost become unusable on my MacBook Air M2. I was wondering if anyone has encountered the same? A few of the recurrent issues are: Frequent crashing. To the extent where I have at times lost large chunks of work.A repeated error around being unable to write to disk. At this point, I always have to close down and start again. I am 99% sure it is linked to my external hard drive (I use a good quality Samsung SSD). Often, if I come out of the programme and back into it, I get this message. Or if my laptop went to sleep. Or if I accidentally disconnect the SSD. I never used to get this crash, it used to be much more resilient to change. Is there anything I can do to alleviate this? I have played around with cache s

HiI was timing some vocals for a song and everything was going well, until at the very end of the audio file, despite the waveforms being accurate as to what they were, are now only playing a random small audio (some random keyboard clicks that got recorded) repeatedly even in areas of silence. Is there a way to fix this and recover the vocals or is this an unfixable bug?
We're using the Zoom PodTrak P4 to record using four microphones. One Host, Three Guests. When I ingest the stems into Adobe Audition using Multitrack, I can't seem figure out how to make all peaks in each file consistent with each other to somewhere between -6db and -3db. I tried the 'Normalize' effect but that doesn't work while guests are speaking as the peaks vary in size with the original file. Another issue is that the three guest files pick up the host talking in the background and would like to keep that from happening or any easy way to remove that all together in Audition. In addition, background talking is heard in all four files when the guest on that specific microphone is not speaking. Are we using the correct microphones here? I'm trying to find the most quick and efficient way to complete these podcast episodes without having to resort to adjusting individual peaks every few seconds in the consolidated file. This has been a time consumi
Mac M2 - Ventura 13.2 - Audition CC - multitrack mode.I'm able to delete a program section with Ripple Delete / Time Selection in All Tracks.I haven't figured out how to insert a short .wav file into the midst of a program. When I try this with Multitrack / Insert Files (with primary audio track selected), the result is to overwrite the existing audio starting at the insert point, rather than insert the desired audio.Other methods of performing this task aren't clear to me. I do not want to append to the end. I do not want to put the inserted file onto a separate track, unless a merge is the only way.
