I'm having a reoccuring issue with Adobe Audition as I edit my podcast. I record my tracks with riversidefx. I then make basic edits in a multitrack session (noise gating, optimize volume, etc); export my session to audacity to truncate the silence, and then import to a new Adobe Audition multitrack session for second stage editing. There, I ripple delete the "ums" and egregious breaths and insert some silences for dramatic effect. No matter if I've repeatedly saved my work, if I close the multitrack session and re-open - all my edits are off by a tick. Just enough to make them unusable (the beginning of an "um" or "breath" re-appears, a word is paritally cut off, the fade ins are now just off, etc).I've talked to several people, including support at Adobe and nobody has any clue why this is happening or if it's something I'm doing. At this point, I'm manuelling exporting paritally edited tracks each editing session to save my work. Suggestions?
PC user. I use a lot of sound effects from an online library when editing a podcast. So I'm regularly downloading files, dragging them into a set of organized folders on my HD, and then drag them into my project for use. It's on the fly, so I can't import everything I need before starting the work. It's odd to me that I can't drop the files directly into the largest box in the window, where the files actually live! I have to drop them in the narrow frame around that window. Kind of a dumb little issue and a minor nuisance at best, but it seems more intuitive to be able to do this, and it would increase my work speed just a bit. Image for reference if I'm not clear - can't drag and drop into the red area, you have to drop inside the green box. Anybody else dealing with this? Am I missing something?
I'm suing Audition 12.1. I had a crash a few days ago working on a project in multitrack I'll call project.sesx. I found the backup in the backup folder, renamed it project_backup_after_crash.sesx, and began working from it again. I believe however that the default saving place was the backup folder. I pressed save much more consistently as I worked! Now it is several days of work later, and after opening the original project.sesx because I needed to see something on it, the system can no longer find project_backup_after_crash.sesx. I have looked everywhere. Any ideas if this is recoverable?
Hi Friends, I went into the waveform, and took out all of the breath noises using 'noise reduction / noise print'. Worked like a charm. When I go back into my multitrack, however, the breath noises are still there. I even inserted the waveform into a new multitrack session, but the breath noises are still there. What is happening here? Thanks!Brad
So I've been working on this audio project the past week and I have been diligently saving because I was afraid of crashing and losing things. Here the series of events:I had been saving my file (File > Save) every 10 mins or so while working on itAn hour ago, Audition stops responding and after waiting awhile I decide to Force QuitWhen I reopen, it asks if I want to recover the files, I say yesThen it opens the files as they were DAYS ago! Long before hours and hours of work and countless saves! How could this happen? I'd understand if I had been careless and hadn't been saving, but I've been saving my files regularly! Yet when I go to open those same files I had been saving over before the crash, it just opens a much earlier version of the file???PLEASE help, I have a due date and I'm swamped with work! I had almost finished this project and if I can't find a way to retrieve those files, then I'll have hours of work ahead of me remaking it. I'm so upset and panicking with deadlines
Hi, I would loike to add a visual cue in front of my recordings, that artist can see when to start. Is that possible in Audition?Best Minon
Creative Cloud is too overwhelming and expensive for podcasters. All we really need is 'Audition Lite', and some light video and photo editing software equivalent to Microsoft Clipchamp and Canva.Does Adobe have any plans for a Podcaster's package in future?
My Adobe Audition tool bar is not enabled. Everything is shaded out and I cannot use the simplest of tools such as the razor. Any suggestions for enabling this?
Hello.I have a Korg nanoKontrol Studio that I used to use with Logic Pro. Documentation is skint on using it with AuditionI went into control surfaces in preferences and chose Mackie as the Korg is Mackie compliant. When I choose to edit the Mackie option, it shows me the nanoKontrol Studio as options for both Midi in and Midi out. I make these selections, but when I try to use the device as a control surface, nothing happens inside Audition. I can confirm that the device is connected to the computer via bluetooth and because Garageband sees it and operates with it properly. I would much prefer to continue with Audition rather than to drop back to Garageband or Logic.Any guidance offered will be appreciated.ThanksRoss
I have been able to record audio from my computer into Adobe Audition 1.5 in the past. Today, the device I had set for Wave In that allowed me to record audio from my computer appears to be missing. I don't remember the name of the device that let me record from the computer, but it's simply not there. The only 2 options showing are Desktop Microphone and Wavemapper. Does anyone know the solution to my problem?
I opened a speech source with triggers, how can I view the markers in adobe?
I have an eight-channel Saffire D/A interface, but also a two-channel Scarlett whose preamps I like for certain mikes. I think the answer to this is no, but is there a way to accept simultaneous input from both units into one session? It looks like the track routing dialogs only recognize whatever input source you've configured as your default, and that there can only be one, but is there a workaround or alternate approach I'm missing?
Hello! I get this message when I try to open the latest version of my session (which I had saved many times) after opening after my computer shut down. The media is all saved on my computer but perhaps not in the same file as the session.. it doesnt give me the option to relink the media (the button is not active). In the backup files it has only versions from two days ago and after the computer shut down which is very strange..I have lost a day's work :((Any help of how I can relink the files or find the lost sessionnwould be massively appreciated! Thanks Shifra
Tell me please. Is this due to a problem with windows, or with applications from adobe? There are also photoshop issues.
Hi, I wanted to insert silences to multiple places in a monologue. What am I doing now is I listen to the monologue first and insert markers (press M) in the audio first. I created the shortcut Q for insert silence. What I am trying to do is to use Alt+arrow to navigate to the markers and press Q to insert silences. but it doesn't work. Any idea how can I insert silences at markers in a batch. (Assuming I just would like to add a 3 seconds silence at each marker, just a pause). Appreciate.
I have an ION TTBUSB Turntable connected to a 2018 Macmini i7. In audition the meters are not indicating a signal but yet in my Zoom App I can see the music on their "meter." Anyone know of a free USB-Audio Codec driver that is compatible with Monterey MacOS and Audition 22.5?
when i press record, my voice track is picking up my intrusmental even when im not talking.
I know similar questions have been asked here before, but I'm noticing some thing a little odd with my specific situation. I have been editing a song for a couple of weeks and everything was perfect until I tried to export. When I listened to the exported version, I noticed a lot of my clips weren't audible. Just little chunks here and there. when I went to go look at them on audition, everything still looked the same until I clicked on the tracks that I could no longer here. When I viewed them in waveform, the frequency's that show underneath my clip were mostly gone, besides little .1 second clips. The pics I'm gonna attach will show what I'm talking about better than I can explain it, the circled bit is the only part I can still hear. I didn't touch anything. I rarely edit in waveform unless it's for tiny 2-3 long clips that need the volume turned down, so I'm not really sure why this happened all of the sudden. I opened up the folder that my project was saved in and atte
I regularly use Diagnostics->Strip Silence to remove portions of my audio that has breaths, noise, etc but then have to manually apply fade in and fade out to each of the resulting clips to ensure a smooth transition from audio to silence and back with no popping. Is it possible to set a pre-set fade in and fade out length in milliseconds and apply it to all of the clips in a track while in multitrack view? Favorites work in waveform editing, so I do not know of any way to use batch processing to achieve this either. Please help!
Whenever I am scrolling my audio left or right it starts zooming, I want to fix this problem. Is there anyone who can help?
Exporting audiobook tracks out of Audition - all are typically around 1hour in length. Each track needs 10 or 12 markers at exact location to mark sub-chapters. These markers are used (in clickable 'link' form) so people can quickly find specific locations in the audio. In short, the markers are created in Audition, but then don't match after export because the exported file is 20 second(ish) shorter. Like the file duration has been compressed or something. If I open the exported MP3 back in Audition, the time appears to have corrected itself, and all the markers are in the 'correct' locations. But any web browser or windows audio player, will play that file it its shorter form - so all the markers are always off. So... the markers at the beginning of the playback are pretty close, but by the end they can be 15 or 18 or 20 seconds off their mark. Super annoying. Any suggestions as to what's going on here? Or how to correct it?We're using a 32bit-float /
I'm looking for a windows-based audio player (Winamp, Aimp, Windows Media Player, VLC, etc) that can see and recognize the markers that Audition adds to MP3 files. Anybody have any suggestions?
Hello,I have a single audio file in mono with highly variying volumes (often in just a few seconds). The reason is the speaker turned away from the mic on many occasions, leaving an unbalanced sound. Can I fix it? And if yes, HOW??? Maybe this topic already came up in one or another posts, but silly me cannot find it. Maybe I didn't search with the right keywords. So please help me! I'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!!J
I'm trying to remove a fridge noise from conversation using any methods available in Audition, but with little to no success due to lack of skills. This GD folder contains the fridge noise sample I took, and my conversation sample with that fridge noise in the background. Can someone suggest a cleanup sequence that really works to make voices clear? I don't mean generic suggestions, since it would be quite difficult to find the right settings on my own, but a detail tested with my files sequence I can repeat on a full recording for success, and learn right skills in the process. Thanks a lot in advance!
Already restarted PC and reinstalled Audition. Sometimes it opens (20% of the time).
