I just experienced a situation where Bridge messed up some, but not all, file extensions during a batch rename. It's similar to some other threads I found, but different enough that I thought I'd start a new one. I have a folder with about 175 items. There are CR2 and JPEG files from two cameras, and HEIC files from an iPhone. When I did the batch rename, several, but nowhere near all, of the CR2 files, and a couple of JPEGs, got assigned the HEIC file extension. And some of the HEIC files were given the CR2 extension. There seems to be no rhyme or reason. As you can see from one of the screenshots, consecutive RAW files were given different extensions. My rename setup did not involve altering the extension at all. On top of all of that, about 8 files did not get renamed at all. Now, I can't undo the batch rename, and will have to take a great deal of time going through and fixing them. Anyone else have this problem, or know a remedy?
The Batch Rename drop-down menus in Bridge do not provide any options other than the ones displayed, and any changes to parameters that can be altered are then irreversible. This looks like a bug that needs to be fixed.I tried the Ctrl-Alt-Shift Reset option as well as re-installing Bridge, but this has not fixed the problem.I'm running on a robust Intel/NVIDIA desktop PC with Windows 10 Pro as the OS.Any advice regarding this problem is welcome.
Has anyone found a solution to the no-dropdown-menu problem that is not a re-install, turn off taskbar auto-hide or delete preferences? I did all of those things and the problem persists. Win10 latest updates. All Adobe apps with latest updates. This is really infuriating. I just got back from a week-long gig with a ton of images to organize/edit and I'm stuck trying to get basic UI elements to work. rgames
HiMy workflow depends on being able to use "batch rename" in bridge. I note it was updated this morning to 12.0.1 My presets for filenames in batch rename can't be editted because the drop down menus no longer work. Is anyone else experiencing this problem ? It was fine until the update this morning. Steve
I am unable to see the full list of file type using the carrot dropdown menu.I can arrow down to get to "Photoshop", and that's alot of tapping. This occurred after updating from 12.0 to 12.0.1
Re Bridge Export not showing dropdown menus'I posted a question on this topic about 10 days ago and was interested to see if there was now a permanent solution to the problem, but reference to this subject cannot be found. What is going on Adobe
The latest (January 2022) update Bridge which I downloaded and installed yesterday seems to have a new bug. When I select the search dialog box using Ctrl-F, I can no longer get the drop-down menu items to show. Clicking on the arrow beside the field does not show anything other than the value I used before installing the new update. I'm trying to search for PSD files and the option is not available.

Hello,I would like to know if it's possible to see in the filter panel the hierarchy of keywords, so that the sub keywords will be shown under the main keyword, instead of all of them together. Thanks!
Hi I often have 1000s of photos in a folder that I would like to copy or move to three folders according to whether the photo is landscape, portrait or square. I've searched but can't find a script. I know I can do this manually using Bridge filters but it would be really useful to be able to click a script to carry out the task. As an aside, the Bridge filter has a tolerance on what it determines to be square so it filters photos that are nearly square. I'm after filtering photos that are exactly square. Thanks in advance for any advice that can be given, Leo
Hello Some of my quote * to ***** havee been replaced by the mention "refused" Please explain how to come back
I'm trying to figure out a way to diagnose why Bridge CC is so slow. I regularly use programs like Photoshop, Lightroom and Premiere and don't notice any kind of inapropriate lag or delays at all. However, when working in Bridge it just feels slow. Opening menus occasionally just hangs for seconds on end before dropping down. Thumnails from a gallery I've previously viewed can take upwards of 10 seconds to appear after opening the software. But the most noticeable and repeatable issue comes when trying to select more then one image files. CTR-Clicking a second (or however many additional files) can take anywhere from 5-8 seconds to happen. This, more then anything else, is making bridge unusable. What should I do?
Bridge 12.0.1.248Windows 10Dell Optiplex 7040 with Dell mouse When navigating via the bread crumbs tool bar (above the Favorites and Folders tabs), when a popup menu is longer than the popup widget, you cannot scroll the list with a mouse's scroll wheel. You have to use the continue arrows at the top and bottom of the popup widget.
When I use Photo Downloader to import files from my SD Card I have to change the settings every single time I want to import files again. This is very annoying and time consuming. Why can't you make it like lightrooms import function where it retains all import settings...
I'm trying to add keywords to GIF and jpg files and nothing I do is working. I've tried adding them in Bridge, and in the application it indicates the keywords but when I check the file with another application, none appear. I've tried adding keywords using Photoshop 2022 (23.3.1) and Illustrator (26.0.3) and that doesn't work either. I'm using a new M1 Max Macbook pro 16. Does anyone know a fix or the reason this isn't working? [Question moved to the Reader thread by Moderator]
I am working on a graduation magazine showing all of the graduating seniors for a school district. Sometimes I am provided the photos with the filename being the students last name then their first, and this is great as I have to alphabetize them. But sometimes the names are listed as First then last name and in previous years I would manually rename the files and it takes forever. I was hoping there was a way to do a batch rename where it would flip the words in the filename. For example I have the name John Doe. I want to renamed it to Doe John. Then to rename all files in the folder in this same format. I have searched and searched and I can not find a way it can be done. I am hoping someone has a solution as I don't want to spend the day renaming hundreds of files manually. Thank you
Hi,I want to create a script to call certain basic functions exported by all JavaScript-enabled applications.I've searched for a full list of commands but can't find it, just a few here and there.Does anyone have a reference please? Thanks

Many thanks
Bridge has been crashing regularly lately when I'm not using it. This morning I woke up to this message. Normally it uses about 5GB max. It's not the first time I've seen this and I wonder if it is connected to the crashes. I'm using an imac M1 running Monterey 12.3.1. 16 GB of memory. Any thoughts?
I have a lot of photos taken with Mavic drones. When saving the file (jpg or raw), the drone tags the file with one or more keywords, such as "pano" (for a panoramic), or "aeb" (for shooting multiple images at different exposures to later be combined into a single HDR photo). The tags (as well as a lot of other properties) are viewable in Windows File Explorer either by adding the tags column to a folder view or by right-clicking on the file and shooing additional details. I've also used the built-in property of "rating" to mark some of the photos as 4 or 5 stars. However, when viewing the file in Bridge, many of these properties don't show up. I would have expected that tags would show as "keywords" and rating would show as "rating". However neither of these appear on the Metadata panel, nor do they show up in any of the File Info sections. Is there anyway to view and/or capture this data in Bridge?
