Bridge

I'm on a Mac using Ventura 13.5.1 We recently went on a big trip so I thought I would dig my "real" camera out of the closet, dust it off, and take it with me.  Yay me! /vent on I've not used Bridge in several years, but I've always chosen to keep the versions updated. I cannot fathom ever possibly saying "no, don't keep my preferences" but it's the only thing I can possible imagine happening because I just opened Bridge 2024 and all the time I spent creating collections and keywords and building a true database to find images easily is just *GONE*. I could (or should?) be angry with myself, I suppose, if I actually DID somehow choose to delete all the hard work I created, but the level of ire I currently possess toward Adobe is far, far greater. Wouldn't it be better to assume people WANT to keep their preferences, their favorites, their collections, and everything else that was customized for a workflow? I've tried every solution posted in the Forums, but none of them have workedThow out Adobe Camera Raw prefs; Didn't workPurge cache; Didn't workUninstal/Reinstall; Didn't workApplied recommended settings; Didn't workNothin' worked. Half of my image files are Tiffs. Pretty frustrating

This problem seems to come and go, even without changing versions, and it results in a lot of wasted time: I load up a directory of 1000 or so images and I start scrolling through them.  Bridge pauses each time a new batch of images appears on screen. So I scroll to the next batch.  And wait.  Then scroll.  Then wait.  Then scroll.  Then wait.  You get the idea... Sometimes Bridge will generate all thumbnails/previews when I load up a directory but sometimes not.  I can't figure out what causes it to do so. I have Preview Generation set to "Always Generate".  I have Preview Quality set to "Standard".  I have tried "Embedded" and "Standard" preview size and there is no difference in behavior. So how do I force Bridge to generate all thumbnails/previews every time I load up a directory?  I'm happy to wait for it to finish but I can't figure out how to make it process more than a dozen or so images at a time. 

Folgendes Problem: Wenn ich meine Straßenbahnbilder beschlagworte füge ich zuerst die Nummer hinzu und später möchte ich bei jedem Bild um Stichwörter aus der Liste (die ist nach Städten geordnet) Ergänzungen durch anhakerln/anhaken machen.Problem, die Stichwörter 'hüpfen' nach unten und ich muss wieder nach oben scrollen um die Beschlagwortung durchführen zu können.Beispiel: siehe FilmHat jemand eine Lösung bitte.  *****************The following problem:When I tag my tram pictures, I first add the number and later I want to add keywords from the list (which is organised by city) to each picture by ticking them off.Problem: the keywords ‘jump’ down and I have to scroll up again to be able to add the keywords. Example: see film Does anyone have a solution please.

Suddenly most tiffs will not display. Jpegs display fine.Things I have tried:Tried keystroke preference reset, Command Option Shift, chose reset preferences and purge local cache.Set "do not process files larger than" to 80000 MBUpdated everything, Mac OS Ventura 13.5.1Multiple uninstall purgiung preferences, restarts and view>refresh,Tried going back to several previous version of Bridge.Is there a file in the preferences folder I can toss?Any ideas would be greatly appreciated  

I can't get used to BR 2024. I hate that Adobe has reduced the Color Theme options to just dark and light, and has removed the middle gray. So I got on the phone with Adobe, only to have the tech disable the version 11 I had, forcing me to downgrade to an older version (11.0). It seemed to work fine. But I got a new computer, and now this is all I see in BR 2021 (see attachment). What the heck?

Hi there, I'm having similar issues on a Mac.  Bridge is showing that no files exist in folders that show up correctly in Finder.    Bridge 2023: v 13.0.1.583PS 2023: v 24.0.1Macbook Pro 2019: Ventura 13.0.1File Type Association: all relevant types set to Photoshop 2023 24.0.1 (JPG, TIFF, PNG, PSD, PSB & NEF are the only types I really use) The files in question that are not appearing are stored on a WD external 2TB drive (easystore 2648, v 4.4.407).  It isn't an SDD, but is only a week old and works just fine with every other application. I've verified in my Privacy settings that both Bridge and PS have full disk access. I would love any help you can offer.  I know this is a nasty time of year to be in customer service and so very much do appreciate your efforts! Best,Mike

I'm critical of the stability and performance of recent Bridge releases, but I also want to report when it works correctly.Today, I had to export 17,000+ PSD files to JPEG. I've been testing Bridge 15 beta and although it still is not suited for production, this particular task went well.I exported in two batches, one ~3700 files and the second ~13,500 files. The export went off with no crashes, stutters, memory leaks, CPU spikes, errors, or other problems. Performance was good. This is what I'd love to see with the entire application.

Since the 2023 update my workflow is hampered by change in folder behaviour. I often right click on an image in folder view and select "Copy To" which displays a list of Recent folder to pick from, and a "Choose folder" option at the bottom. It used to add the folder I selected in "Choose folder" to the Recent list but not longer does. Add to that the annoyance that each time I start Bridge and select "Choose folder" it goes back to the c:\Progam File.... folder by default and doesn't remmeber the last used. Both slowing me down no end - why have these features been removed? 

I have been using a keyword set successfully formany years. In thelatest release of Bridge, the keywords panel behaves differently than in the past. I start to do a search for the word "Shutoff".  get so far as "shut" before the keywords panel jumps to a suggestion, highlighted in blue below.     But that's not the one I want. So I click the forward arrow button until I get to the one I want (Shutoff Valve). Then I click the checkbox to apply that keyword to my photo. As soon as I do, the keywords panel jumps back to the keyword in blue highlighted above (Fuel shut-off Valves).   Why does the keyword panel jump back to the other keyword that I didn't select. I don't recall it ever doing that before. How do I stop this behavior and get it to just stay put instead of jumping backward?

01.It takes up too much computer memory. 02.It generates thumbnails too slowly and is very laggyI hope Adobe Bridge can improve its lag problem when managing large amounts of files.

Since updating to Sequoia batch renaming in Bridge will not work. It freezes, no movement in the progress bar and after cancelling the task the files are renamed with the prefix "Adobe Bridge Rename Temp". MacBook Pro M2, Sequoia 15.1. Bridge 14.1.2.300. Restarting the computer has no effect.

A new problem has appeared recently. When I download files from Nikon d850 using  Bridge, it creates a duplicate file. For example I have 40 files on the camera but when I download them there are 80 files in Bridge, every other one is a duplicate.  They all are .nef files. Any suggestions. Thanks Ray

When I process RAW files from an external SSD drive and save them as JPEG in the same folder, Bridge does not refresh the content panel when closing ACR and therefor, the thumbnails do not appear. I have to manually press F5 for the JPEG's to appear in the content panel. This occurs within Windows as well as in Mac OS. Has anyone the same experience?When working from any internal drive this issue does not happen.

Hi!I used Bridge 2024 to edit some .cr2 raw files in camera raw. I rated them before editing. After I clicked finish in camera raw though, ratings disappear, and so are the changings i did in camera raw. I can see .xmp files when i open the folder in the windows explorer, but they are somehow not connected with the files in bridge.

Observed with 15.0.0.393 and previous public beta build. When selecting a menu item from an Extendscript dropdown list, the mouse click is sometimes passed through to the content panel below. I have tested in List and Detail View, reproduced on both Mac Sequoia and Windows 10 Pro. Step 1: Load a large folder with several thousand items. Only click once! Result: Dropdownlist item is selected AND mouse click is passed through to Content panel.

My Adobe bridge doesn't see a content on my cd card. I accidentally denied that card and I cannot make it active. Please, help me to solve this problem.  Thank you

Seit einiger Zeit habe ich nur noch eingeschränkten Zugriff auf meine externe SSD-Festplatte (wird auch als Time Machine Backup-Volume verwendet). Über die Bridge direkt werden mir keine Inhalte der Festplatte angezeigt, als wäre sie leer. Nur, wenn ich entsprechende Ordner aus dem Finder in der Bridge öffne, kann ich Inhalte dort sehen. Das erschwert den Workflow ungemein. Noch problematischer ist allerdings, dass ich RAW-Bilder, die ich von der Festplatte über die Bridge in Fotoshop/Camera Raw öffne und bearbeite, nach der Bearbeitung nicht gespeichert werden können und die Fehlermeldung "Die Raw-Konvertierungseinstellungen können nicht gespeichert werden. Fehler bei der Schreibberechtigung" auftaucht. Ich habe schon alle Einstellungen nach Schreibberechtigungen durchsucht, konnte aber keine Lösung finden. Kann mir vielleicht jemand bei diesem Problem weiterhelfen?

Hallo,die Suchfunktion in Bridge funktioniert nicht. Ich will in einem Netzwerkordner nach Bildern suchen. Das das etwas länger dauert als über einen lokalen Ordner ist mir klar, aber das es gar nicht geht wundert mich doch schon sehr. Hat jemand eine Idee, woran es liegen könnte?  

Hello,I'm trying to create custom metadatas for Bridge, using CC2020I manage to create a metadata extension in AppData\Roaming\Adobe\XMP\Metadata Extensions and everything shows fine.But I can't figure out how to create multiple line field like those wich are in IPTC Extension : Tried to use type="seq" in schema.xml for my fields but it didn't work...Anyone can help with that ? Thanks a lot !

Hi,in Bridge CC 2017 I had a custom file to add the metadata I want to view in the Metadata Panel.This file was located at C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Bridge CC 2017\Custom File Info Panels\4.0\custom\MyPanel.xml.In the same location in Bridge CC 2018 it doesn't work.In AppData\Roaming\Adobe\XMP\Custom File Info Panels\4.0\custom\panels\MyPanel.xml it doesn't work.In AppData\Roaming\Adobe\XMP\Custom File Info Panels\4.0\custom\MyPanel.xml it doesn't work.In AppData\Roaming\Adobe\XMP\Custom File Info Panels\4.0\MyPanel.xml it doesn't work.In AppData\Roaming\Adobe\XMP\Custom File Info Panels\MyPanel.xml it doesn't work.So, where should I install this file.Any comments will be greatly appreciated.Pierre

I was exploring the Custom Metadata Panels in Bridge (Mac Studio running 13.2.1 and Bridge 2023). I made some adjustments to the default panel version, exported a JSON file, attempted to save my changes and Bridge crashed. Since, I've been unable to reopen Bridge, it crashes on launch. I uninstalled and reinstalled latest version (2024) and am having the same issue. Bridge just crashes on launch and can provide no information for cause in crash report. Any ideas what the problem is and how to resolve?
