OS: Windows 10 Home 64bitI don't know what caused this but this project gets this error every time I hit space to preview it:After Effects error: Scribble internal error (512) ( 25 :: 60 )

Can't figure this out. This happens with every version of AE I've tried from 24.5 up, with a slew of drivers going back to the first version accepted in C4D earlier this year. CC Cleaner and DDU run when testing combos. Exporting a prores 422 file with no sound, from any project simple or complicated with different media. With or without additional plugin or scripts. It's not the cache or preferences, hardware panel render on and off, Multi frame on and off. Aaaaaaand with CUDA disabled.It will typically finish rendering, but occasionally just craps out. No compatibility issues found, and this is a new build. I will note that i get similar not good chime renders from a days old Lenovo Legion 9i that also has a 5080 series gpu in it.Intel Ultra 9 285k (no mods)PNY Geforce 5080192 GB DDR5Windows 11This project is relatively simple, stock footage from adobe (mp4) with only a few gaussian or drop shadows used. My project is set to the ACES 1.2, ACES CG, 32-bit working color space. Okay, this error is very easy to understand. If the blue values of the footage exceed the 100 limit, they are ignored by the spill suppressor. It should be easy to fix, because this effect is not marked as only working in 16-bit color space, but should also be fully usable in a 32-bit workflow.1. Image. show the situation without spill suppressor applied. 2. I have a scene with a TV covered in stickers. I applied a mask to these stickers to give them a holographic effect with an image, applying “Hard Light” and lowering the opacity.Well, when I open the .fla file in After Effects, the mask works, but the “Hard Light” effects and opacity are not applied.I understand that there are several solutions, such as converting the symbol to a bitmap, but I want to find out why this is happening and whether or not there is a solution. 

When pasting text with "non-breaking space" character (ASCII Code 160) After Effects interprets it as a line break when it should just be a space. Here is a string you can use to test: "Try pasting this intro After Effects" I'm currently on macOS 26 and AE 25.4 but I've encountered this bug for many years. Thanks

I render out Cinema DNG files using After Effects all the time. 24.3 Mac (intel) has something seriously broken with it when it comes to accessing DNG sequences over an SMB network connection. Prior versions worked fine with no issue. Windows version not impacted.  Everytime I open an existing project, it first asks to convert it to the new format and then it gives me a dozen or more errors: After Effects error: Photoshop file format error (-1). (45::35) Some details:AE for Mac (Intel) version 24.3.0 (build 50)Footage where this is occurring is Cinema DNG format.Files are stored on a TrueNAS server connected by SMB over 10Gbe Ethernet.Prior to this I have seen PS have issues occasionally opening DNGs on network drives but never AE.Oddly, when previewing C-DNG sequences, it shows most frames just fine.All DNGs are confirmed to be valid and not corrupted or special in any way.Prior versions of AE did NOT have this issue.Does not occur on Windows version of After Effec

Description of the Issue:When editing in Premiere Pro, I use the "Replace with After Effects Composition" feature on a piece of footage. After Effects opens and allows me to make changes with no issue. However, when I try to switch back to Premiere, or click outside of After Effects (e.g., to the desktop, browser, or any other window), my entire computer either crashes or freezes for 3–4 minutes before displaying an error message and crashing the Adobe application.This crash has occurred 100% of the time when using Dynamic Link for the past two months. Rotobrush keeps crashing AE. I was on previous version yesterday of AE and I started encountering the error. I only have 1 shot left to complete. I updated AE, and still rotobrush crashes. I made a consolidated version of the project, and deleted current rotobrush all other effects, Started rotoing from strach, and then crash. I've cleared caches, restarted and as i already said, checked and updated AE. I can not complete this project because of this crash. I thought maybe the refine edge might be crashing, so I tried with just normal brush, and it still crashed after a minute or 2 of using it.Crash message:"After Effects can't continue: Roto Brush & Refine Edge plug-in generated an unexpected exception."Mac Studio Apple M2 Max, OS 15.7.1 (24G231)AE Version:  25.5.0 (build 4)

Hi, I'm working on a brand new desktop with After Effects and suddenly after a few moments of uploading a file, the composition freezes and the timeline also stops moving. It seems to happen to all the new projects I open. I have tired restarting the app but it always freezes and does the same thing after just a few moments in. It also somewhat lags behind when I go to other panels? I'm wondering if this is a problem related to my CPU or GPU. I believe my drivers are all up to date as well if that's the issue. CPU: Ryzen 5 7600XGPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060Ti 16GBWindows 11

No crash if loaded onto a Solid (makes no sense but just tot test) When loaded on an EXR layer the effect crashes After Effects.   Even the latest beta of AE crashes, the difference there is that it crashes immediately and closes the app instead of giving the windows below.   Win 11 AE 25.5.0b4 RTX 3090Ti / NVSD 581.29   Does not crash on a Mac.  

I've not had an issue adding rounded corners to a stroke before... been using the same technique multiple times until this suddenly occurred.Made a stroke with several right-angle cornersClicked 'Add' and selected Rounded CornersChanged the value to my desired roundness (in this case, 71)And only SOME of the vertices are becoming rounded...  This is new to me. I've purged memory. Restarted (both Ae and computer).  Maybe I'm missing a simple detail? Any thoughts?

Al abrir en Windows un archivo creado en Mac, los controles de efectos de Menú desplegable que existían previamente en el proyecto, cambian el nombre del efecto “Menú” por “Menœ”.Una vez guardado en Windows, al abrir en Mac cualquier proyecto (aunque no haya sido abierto en Windows) contiene el mismo error hasta que se elimina la caché de disco y se limpia la base de datos del programa. 

After Effects 25.5.0 (Build 4). Windows 11.  When previewing in full screen mode (full screen checked in preview panel), the timeline zooms way out after stopping the preview.  When not in full screen mode in preview, the timeline remains as is.

When importing Apple Log 2 into my timeline, on playback before importing it's flat and as it should be, but when I import it AE applies colour and exposure resulting in a weird, highlights clipped, strange version of rec709 look to my log footage. Anyone else encountered this?

Ich arbeite mit einem zweiten Bildschirm an meinem MacBook. Das Programmfenster von After Effects öffnet sich auf dem MacBook und passt sich nicht an die Bildschirgröße an. Es ist viel zu groß. Wie bekomme ich es passend? Die linke obere Ecke ist nicht erreichbar. Und wie kann ich das Programmfenster auf meinen großen Hauptbildschirm ziehen?

When opening my Ae Project in Ae 25.5, a message pops up that it needs C4d 2025 installed.Why doesn't it work with C4d 2026 ?I'm on MacOS Seqoia 15.4 / Mac Studio M3 Ultra.  

Hello, I need help with my After Effects after the latest update (Oct. 2025). I’ve been experiencing several issues:After Effects often becomes unresponsive or freezes while I’m working.The time indicator and video preview do not move and frequently get stuck.I’m using an ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 (2025), which I believe has more than enough performance to handle After Effects, but the problem keeps happening.Has anyone else experienced this issue after the update? Is there any solution or setting I should adjust to fix this problem? Thank you in advance.

Bonjour à tous, Il m'est impossible d'ouvrir correctement un onglet déroulant sur un logiciel de la suite Adobe. En effet celui-ci apparait seulement quelques frames et il m'est impossible de cliquer sur le paramètre que je souhaite. Je vous met un exemple d'onglet déroulant qui ne s'ouvre pas correctement. Dès que je clique dessus celui-ci se ferme directement, je n'ai pas le temps de cliquer sur un paramètres voulus.Ce phénomène se passe aussi sur les autres ordi de mon campus. On a tous essayé d'utiliser les raccourcis clavier mais la même chose se produit.Est-ce que quelqu'un a eu le même problème et aurait-il une solution ? Sachant que nous pouvons pas vraiment changer la version du logiciel étant donné que nous n'avons pas accès à ceux-là. Le support de mon école m'a dit de me référer directement à Adobe. 

Hello, I am unfortunately unable to change any RAM preferences in the Memory & Performance settings. I have 128 GB of RAM installed. The option for "RAM reserved for other applications" is greyed out - says "~ GB (Pending)". This came after having updated my After Effects version to 2025.4 after experiencing unmanageable memory leaks in previous versions. All on Windows 10. I've updated my GPU driver, started in Safe Mode, disabled third-party plugins and extensions. Regarding the Memory Leak - the smallest operations cause memory to go up and never be freed.To reproduce: new 8bpc project, 1080p Comp, created a white solid and moved it's position around in the comp preview window. After about a minute or so, After Effects is at 20GB RAM usage. Not something I can work with.Turned off GPU acceleration, Multi-Frame Rendering, cleared Media & Disk Cache. I am dropping a 2.5K clip in to a 4K 16.9 ratio project. On the upper layer I'm placing a PSD file with an alpha channel that acts as a film mask. The AE video project is 32bit with an RGB colour space. The PSD file is 16bit made in RGB. The option I choose when importing the PSD file is "Merge Layer Styles into Footage".When rendering this or similar projects using a combination of PSD and Mov files, I invariably receive the following dialogue once rendering has completed. "After Effects Error: couldn't perform post-process action because the item to replace is missing". Now, I cannot see what item is missing as the clip renders normally. Can anyone tell me why I am receiving this message and how to get rid of it? I'm working on a MacPro 2024 Silicon 4. Mac OS Sequoia 15.7. After Effects 25.5.Thank you.

I am trying to open some old C4D files from within After Effects. I have a full Creative Cloud account.C4D Lite gives me an error as it tries to open. (Attached screenshot.)MacOS 15.6 on Mac Studio, 64 GB RAM- I have uninstalled After Effects- I have deleted every trace I can find of Maxon on my system- I have reinstalled AE The error message says I have no license. Thanks
