I'm trying to set my font to Trade Gothic Next LT Pro Bold. The text is "1. Touchscreen". The 1 is acting so bizarre. It will change to any weight of the font except for Bold or Heavy. Even if I have all of the text selected and change it all to Bold, the number is the only character that will not change. (screenshots attached) And it's just those two weights. It will change to any other weight in the list. I've even tried typing the number in the middle of the word, and it will either switch to the default text (Myriad Pro) or the previous weight I used. And it's just the number 1. Hello. I am experiencing a persistent text rendering issue in Adobe After Effects that affects the lowercase Latin ‘i’ character (Unicode: U+0069) as well as some general letter case behavior. Issue Summary: When I type the lowercase ‘i’ character in After Effects, the text layer internally registers it correctly as U+0069, and this is also reflected in the layer name and Character panel.However, on the composition screen, the rendered character visually appears as the Turkish dotless ‘ı’ (Unicode: U+0131), even though I did not type that character.This behavior occurs consistently across multiple third-party fonts.I have confirmed that the same fonts display the correct 'i' character in other design platforms such as Canva, so the issue appears to be isolated to After Effects.Additionally, I’ve observed that some lowercase characters are rendered as uppercase in After Effects without any capitalization settings or transformations being applied. System and Environme

<Overview>When importing AVI files into After Effects, the import process takes a very long time, depending on the length of the video, and the UI freezes during this period.Importing a few hundred frames takes several seconds (although this is still slower than before), but importing several thousand frames takes tens of seconds. This refers to performance on a standard SATA SSD. On an HDD, loading takes several "minutes".What's worth noting is that this doesn't occur in After Effects 24.1 but has been happening since version 24.2.1, which suggests that a regression may have occurred between these versions.Furthermore, after importing, when the footage is placed onto the timeline, the preview remains black, and it again takes tens of seconds (or several minutes) before the preview becomes visible.<Steps to reproduce>1. This is an intermittent issue and affects AE, PPro and rendering through AME. This may be related to cache issues and/or insufficient memory somewhere in the pipeline. Importantly, rendering from AME prevents the isssue about 90% to 95% of the time.  But when AME fails, it's a lot finicky trying to fix the issue. Changing property vals seems to give it a required kick to get back to expected results but even this is a trial and error routine.Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas how to fix/workaround this?

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience using After Effects 2025 and with Adobe's support.As a professional videomaker who relies on AE daily, I’ve spent over two full days trying to fix constant crashes and performance issues after updating to the 2025 version. I followed every official troubleshooting step (reset preferences, clear cache, reinstall, update drivers, test without plugins), but nothing worked.To make matters worse, when I contacted Adobe support via chat, the agent (named Sid) told me to wait for a remote assistance link — then suddenly shifted to trying to sell me credits for automated video creation. When I questioned this, the conversation was simply abandoned with no follow-up or resolution.This kind of treatment is unacceptable, especially from a company that charges a monthly subscription for professional-grade software. This issue with no cursor showing up in Text Fields is just too much to bear any longer. I'm wondering if it's my set up or no one has noticed (highly unlikely) - very intriguing. Can we get a quick fix on this (if others notice this issue) because it's really infuriating, having to work this way. 

I was editing in Premiere then for some Motion Graphics work, took the file to After Effects. I tried simple text animation with masking over the speaker's profile. The timeline when in playback is glitching, showing clips from different point of the video. This is a new PC and my configurations as follows: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600T GPU: Nvidia 3060 12 GBRAM: 32 GB Appreciate the help!Edit: Attaching the glitching video recording for reference.  

For months, perhaps years, I've been having issues with retaining the same colors in the project on the exports. I've attached an example and really need a fix. I visited Adobe's youtube channels and followed their guides (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqz7WGK2pCo) and it doesn't help. I've attached screenshots for reference. 

There is a bug in the Paint Brush in 2025 AE version: Paint on transparent doesn't work when applied on layer that has alpha channel. It just doesn't show anything painted.When the layer has not and alpha channel it works.

AE / ME Version: 25.3 (Issue occured before and after the update to 25.3)Mac OS Version: 15.5 (24F74)Hi, while AE/ME are stable and not crashing, the render time in ME has been extremely sluggish and at times non-responsive. The strangest part is that upon opening both programs fresh and sending a 00:15 second 4k / 1:1 render to ME, the render will usully take less than a minute, often a few seconds. However, after sending the same render to ME with a minor change (editing the type) the render jumps to 30 minutes+. My workflow is in complete disarray. This has been incrementally getting worse for months now. My only fix so far is to restart both programs. The restarts occasionally returns ME render speeds back to their glorious, lighting-fast selves, but any subsequent ME renders are slow again - as if dipped in molasses.Please help! Red color Play head doesn't move while playing. Preview works, audio works but only play head head doesnt move. Its hard to work and so frustrating. Its been so many years its not fixed yet!!!!

aerender no longer renders compoistions from projects with Cinema4D 3d render engine or tiff sequences.It doesn't matter if the composition does not uses this render engine or sequence, if the project contains them none will render (macOs).

I try to export a graphical template with essential graphics. New Project, I add just a color layer and add the scaling as a editable option. When I hit export as template this appears:  

saveFrameToPng results in dark images if project color is set to >8 bit depth.E.g. if you use extend script (e.g. comp.saveFrameToPng) to export a frame and your Project settings > Color uses 32 bit depth, the PNG will be dark. Changing the project's color depth to 8 bit before export results in images as expected.

Dear Adobe Support Team,I am a subscriber to the Adobe Creative Cloud suite, regularly working with your software, including After Effects. Last year, I reported an issue with the Warp Stabilizer effect in After Effects that has persisted despite numerous troubleshooting attempts.An Adobe consultant assisted me remotely, spending over three hours adjusting settings, installing drivers, and exploring potential solutions. Ultimately, I was informed that the issue—where applying the Warp Stabilizer causes severe stuttering in clips—could not be resolved in the current version. Instead, I was directed to use the 2022 version of After Effects, where this problem does not occur.However, it is now 2025, and I am still unable to update After Effects without encountering the same issue. bonjour à tous,depuis une récente mise a jour de mon systeme Mac (Mac Studio - Sequoia 15.5) je ne parvient plus a ouvrir after effects 2025. Une fenetre permanente bloque toute action, intervention, ouverture et fermeture. Cette fenetre mentionne "After Effects (avertissement) : std:exception".Je pense qu'à la base c'est un conflit avec mon gestionnaire de police (Extensis Connect (Version 27.0.2))J'ai fermé l'extension, désinstallé puis réinstallé After Effects, toujours le même problème de fenêtre qui bloque tout !Avez vous eu ce type de souci, et si oui comment le résoudre !? Merci de me faire un retour pour ceux qui ont eu a connaitre ce problème.

I have been trying to open After Effect (ver 25.2.2) but it keeps on crashing while opening. I have tried all the option, including: Reset Preferences, Start in Safe Mode (both checked and unchecked the "3rd party plugins" box), and even Manage Plugins. None of the options work even after reinstalling the app into extension disk. I have also updated my Studio Driver to latest version. Current behaviour:Items in project window are deselected when entering a comp by double clicking a lyer Preferred behaviour:Do not Deselect items in Project window ever! This feels new (25 year veteren) and is causing me problems. This is why.I want to add the next item from a folder to the next comp I go into.When I double click the comp to enter it, the last item is no longer selected in the project window, so I no longer know which is the next item. This feels counter-intuitive and serves no purpose.Why would anyone want automatic deselection?Let me decide when I want to deselect thank youTristan Summers

This has been an issue for as long as the Drop Menu has been aroung - updating Menu Items is prone to lock up AE, amongst other strange happenings. On previous occasions, I could use Task Manager to Force Quite AE but this time, even this doesn't work and rebooting is the only option!!!I've been using AE for over 25 years and have had to reboot due to a bug. This Drop Menu has been a constant horror show. Errors/Issues can easily occur if you copy/paste within the Input Field in the menu. And doing this while updating the items list is more likely to cause issues than when first adding actual item names. This is quite horrific.UPDATE - restarted Task Manager and managed to Froce Quit AE.

Schönen guten Tag zusammen! Da wir unseren AfterEffects Workflow von sRGB auf ACES umstellen wollen, kam das Thema exr Rendern auf. Ein erster Test war sehr ernüchternd, ein schwarzes Bild 1920x1080, 32bit als exr ACES AP0 "rendern" dauerte je Bild 5-6 Sekunden (ca. 0,2 fps). Nach zahlreichen Tests änderten wir das Render Ziel auf ein lokales Laufwerk ab und hier konnten wir nahezu in Echtzeit renden - also 22-44 fps.Unsre IT Fachleute haben unterscheidliche Dinge an unseren Netzwerk Settings justiert, leider ohne Verbesserung der Problematik.Das selbe Projekt rendert als tif, uncompressed, 32bit mit ca.1,5 fps., was auch nicht toll ist, aber deutlich besser. Exr lesen und Performance in der Timeline sind sehr gut, auch ändert ein exr Input nichts an den Geschwindigkeiten. Das Prozedere haben wir mit unterschiedlichen alten Projekten und neu erstellten Projekten mit und ohne genutztem Footage / Schrift / Effekten etc. getestet.Alles kam zum selben Ergebnis. Wir habe

I've been using After Effects for years without any major issues, but the recent updates have only caused issues. I'm unable to preview a simple 2min timeline without After Effects sucking up all my memory, and prompting memory usage warnings. I have 32Gb of RAM installed, with a RTX 3060, which should be, and has been until recently, more than enough to smoothly run an AE project. Please provide fixes for this, because I'm not the only one having these issues.I have "Cache frames when idle" disabled, and every ten seconds I purge memory and disk cache. This is extremely annoying, and given the price of the product, completely unacceptable.

Yesterday, I was editing on my laptop. And the next day, after I opened the after effect, this is happened. Can someone help me to solve this? My laptop using Windows, NVIDIA GTX1650, RAM 16, Ryzen 5 4600. Thank you

I keep getting this error message for After Effects even though I have Cinema 4D installed and running. I've tried to put the C4DImporter.plugin file from the Maxon files into my After Effect files within applications. I've attached screenshots of both of these folder locations just to explain a little further what I mean. However this has still not resolved the issue. Does anyone please know how to fix this?

In AE 25 i found bug, which is appear at the moment you use compositing for effects on layers using masks. Then, when you add another effect to the chain, something happens and the mask for effect sometimes works like without effect compositing. Sometimes there is only one pixel column on alpha channel. I am ataching screenshot and project file. When you change curve (no matter which one), the pixel noise dissapear and if you will change the other curve, it appears back. Try to play with it..It is unreliable for now use compositing effects through mask on one layer in chain with other effects, I saw similar strange behavior for last few days..
