Summary of the problem: When a layer has the Mesh Warp effect applied, using arrow keys moves individual mesh points instead of moving the entire layer, even when the effect is not actively selected in the Effect Controls panel. This overrides the expected default behavior of arrow keys moving the entire layer.Steps to reproduce:Create or select any layer in the timelineApply Effect > Distort > Mesh Warp to the layerClick to select the layer in the timeline (not in the Effect Controls)Press any arrow key (up, down, left, right) on the keyboardWhat should have happened: The entire layer should move 1 pixel in the direction of the arrow key pressed (or 10 pixels with Shift held), which is the standard behavior for selected layers in After Effects.What actually happened: Individual mesh warp points move instead of the entire layer, making it impossible to use arrow keys for precise layer positioning once Mesh Warp is applied.Additional information: This happens regardless of whether

When I open After Effects, I get this message:“Please connect to the internet as soon as possible so the license can be activated (101). The license must be activated online within 2 days or it will become invalid.”This has been happening since yesterday. I’ve already reinstalled the app, signed out and back into my Adobe account, but the message keeps appearing no matter what. I’m really worried because I have important projects to work on in the next few days, and it would be a huge problem if After Effects suddenly stopped working even though my license is valid.I’ve followed all the troubleshooting steps mentioned in another thread, but nothing seems to fix it. I need help please! I have 128gb of ram and I'm still getting this error, here my pc specifications: RAM: 128GB (3600 MHz)GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 TiCPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 16-Core How is it possible to have 128gb (116gb allocated to AE) and not being able to allocate memory?

adobe premiere premium replace with after effects composition, and then the footage turn black turn black.when I check in adobe after effect there is no footage. how to fix it?

Been using AE 2024 and eventually earlier versions of 2025 for a long running project. We've been using EXR renders from Unreal Engine and using eXtractor and cryptomattes. It's all been fine until the latest After Effects updates where using EXRs became basically unusable. It takes forever for AE to show any EXR frames, trying to preview anything is a nightmare, and trying to render an EXR sequence takes incredibly long. Ae has been great up until these last few updates and is now basically completely useless with EXRsI have 2 desktop PCs, both run Win11. (yes, Windows and GPU drivers etc are all up to date.)One has an AMD 5800x CPU + RTX3080 tiThe other Intel i7 9700k CPU + RTX3080For both desktops, the projects and files are one one nvMe SSD and all AE caching is to another nvMe SSDAfter Effects now absolutely sucks on both systemsAny advice to get After Effects back to a usable state with EXRs would be appreciated

Hi everyone,I’m running into a Dynamic Link issue between Premiere Pro and After Effects. In Premiere, I select a single clip in the timeline and choose “Replace with After Effects Composition.” After Effects opens, asks me to save a new .aep, creates a new composition—but the composition is empty. The selected Premiere clip does not appear inside the comp. Back in Premiere, the timeline item links to that AE comp, but since it’s empty, there’s no media.I’ve tried to make sure I’m selecting a normal video clip (not an adjustment layer or an empty track). In some cases it might be nested or multicam. I verified the clip has real duration, tested in a fresh project where it sometimes works, cleared media caches in both apps, killed the Adobe Dynamic Link Manager process and rebooted, saved the .aep to a simple local path, disabled hardware acceleration temporarily, turned proxies off, removed effects from the clip, and confirmed that both Premiere Pro and After Effects are on the same ma

I need help fixing this ASAP...I cannot open the software. Every time I reboot it, it crashes on the crash repair options screen. I've uninstalled and re-installed, deleted all preferences, I don't know what else to do. Der Export von Essential Graphics in After Effects funktioniert nicht.  Wenn ich eine Vorlage exportiere, erscheint eine MORGT-Datei mit 2 oder 3 KB. Beim hineinziehen in Premiere erscheint dann der Fehler: "Media Pending" Ich habe nur eine Form- und Textebene, welche mit einem Null-Objekt an der Position geändert wird. 

Issue - When I animate the "amount" property for turbulent displace, when the effect is applied to a layer, the layer snaps to a transformed (literally position and scale) state exactly when the interpolation finishes. Steps to reproduce -  Apply Turbulent displace to a layer in a comp that is readied to be exported as a MOGRT from essential graphics. Animate the "amount". This happened for any values I tried, but lately I've been trying from 50 to 0 over about 1 second. Easing didn't seem to change anything. Export the comp as a MOGRT Place the MOGRT in a timeline in Premeire Pro v25. The CTI won't reproduce the error, but when you scrub, play in the timeline, render the clip, or export media, the glitch will occur. Expected result - A nice, wavy effect.Actual result - The layer will fly off into an unpredictable transform change. In many cases, the debugger comes up with a line number that does not exist. (e.g. an error on line 71, while the expression consists of 69 lines). It's hard to say when exactly this problem shows up, but it occurs a lot, so I guess more users have experienced this behaviour.

Due to some technical problem i had to delete the creative cloud and all adobe apps like after effects and photoshop.And when i reinstall them, i found that extenion tab is greyed out, how to fix that Please help !!!

Hi, I'm using AE on a PC. When I use Roto Brush 3.0 and mask a person with say a white background the mask only lasts for 2 frames before selecting the whole screen. When I change the selection to Roto Brush 2.0, it renders properly. I've tried multiple videos. I've tried reinstalling. But I still get this issue which means I can't use roto brush 3.0.  Are there any suggestions to fix this? Thanks,  Dom

Hey team, This has been bugging me for a long time - when you right click in premiere > make after effects composition, the playhead inside of that comp will eventually stop moving. It might not be on the first playback, or the third, but after swapping back to premiere and back to AE a few times, eventually the playhead just ceases to exist. The only way to fix it is to shut down After Effects and reopen the project again, but then as soon as you link another comp from premiere to AE, it happens again and then you need to shut down and restart again. Quite annoying, hopefully this gives you enough information to reproduce it! AE version 25.5Windows 11 OS - Learn How to Edit Stuff

Hello,I am running 25.4. This problem started somtime between now and May of this year, because this problem was not present prior to that time. On different EXR sequences that were rendered out using VRay, I am seeing some frames in the sequence are not being fully rendered, which is causing major problems in creating video animations from these sequences. I have tried the sequences in a different project with no effects and get the same result. The EXR sequences are 1920x1080. In one sequence I have narrowed down the problem to one particular frame. When I import this EXR file into AE, it imports like always but the full frame of the image is not rendered.This report form is lame because it does not allow uploading of zip files nor EXR files, and since I work for a company I can't be posting links to files on external file sharing sites. Hello, i tried to switch my 3d renderer from classic to advanced 3d to extrude shapes, but it immidiately crashes every time i'm trying to do it. Classic 3d render works fine though. To fix this problem i tried: clear all types of cache 1 by 1; update my NVIDIA drivers; deleted and reinstalled my NVIDIA drivers, disabled CUDA in AE, deleted and reinstalled AE multiple times with different versions from 25.1 to 25.3 and none of this helped. However earlier i could use Advanced 3d renderer in my projects and import 3d objects into them.My PC specs - xeon e5 2680v4 and GeForce GTX 1650 Super. Also I do not use any plug-ins. What can i do else?

Saber does not work in after effects 25.2.2. I needed Saber for the project. I downloaded it from the official source and installed it. For the test, I created a simple object for the test. I drag the saber onto the object, select Layer Masks and nothing. Everything worked before. Half a year ago I made a project using saber, but on a different version of AF. Maybe someone has encountered this?

Adobe continues to suck.Version 25.2.0 build 4. Macbook air Sonoma 14.7 1. How to get rid of this thumbnail preview space (in pic 1, the space between the word "project" and the search bar)? There is no way I can find... I don't need it and would rather just have the files closer to compress the project window. Is there no way to turn off thumbnail previews?2. Why, on this beautiful green earth, isn't the snapping buttons and the workspace pulldown on the same line as as all the other buttons? Look at all that empty space taking up precious screen estate! I am honestly flabberghasted that the leading design software company puts out products with such poor design. If I am missing something someone tell me.

When users change the value of a slider parameter declared by a plugin with thePF_ParamFlag_SUPERVISE flag, AE fails to notify the plugin via PF_Cmd_USER_CHANGED_PARAM. Steps to reproduce:- Take an existing plug-in based on the AE SDK, and make one of its slider parameters observable by setting its PF_ParamFlag_SUPERVISE flag.- Set a breakpoint / print something to the console / beep when handling the PF_Cmd_USER_CHANGED_PARAM command.- Apply the plugin inside any recent version of AE.- Change the slider’s value and notice that PF_Cmd_USER_CHANGED_PARAM is never invoked. Expected:Plug-ins should receive a PF_Cmd_USER_CHANGED_PARAM command whenever the value assigned to a slider parameter is changed. Notes:Sliders can trigger a large number of changes very quickly, and it would be perfectly fine if AE were to coalesce multiple changes into one. BUT it is vital that AE issue at least one PF_Cmd_USER_CHANGED_PARAM command, when the user is done

When user selecting 3D object and pressing F button, 3d view centering to selected object. But this feature work only when you're using tools for camera movement (Orbit, Pan, Dolly).Since 2026 its possible to use Alt+Mouse to move camera view, even when using  any other tools like Selection tool, Pan, Rotation, Text etc. But in this case F-cenetring doesn't work.

Help! About 3 weeks ago, this problem has cropped up and rendered AE unuseable to me on my laptop: When I open a project (or start a new one), everything works fine for a few minutes until suddenly the composion panel just freezes.  After Effects continues to run, I can even close the panel and reopen it and it reopens in its frozen state.
