Footage works fine in AE otherwise. Happens with MP4 and MOV ProRes 422.When I load the footage into the layer panel and select the Roto Brush tool, it goes blackWith an NVIDIA RTX 4000 Ada Generation Laptop GPU Issue does not occur in "shipping" version of AE. 

Composition keeps going black in most recent update to AE Beta (24.2.0 build 38). I quit and re-opened, purged cache and memory several times, no luck. Tried different workspaces, no change.HOWEVER, exact same project looks fine in AE 2024 (non-beta). So the problem is not the project. Running latest version of Mac OS 14.1.2.Thanks!

In Beta, wave warp now no longer smooths lines at higher antialiasing.

Just having them as single entries within the Essential Graphics Panel. I put that comp in another comp and change the text / values and create keys to be super save. Now I save the comp and reopen it: All good.Now, time to break it:I create a Group via Formatting in the Essential Graphics Panel and put the previously created text entries in the group. AE Beta 24.2.0 x26:When using a Shape Layer with a Gradient Fill and setting the Opacity Stop to 0, lines will show up in the gradient. I am not talking about banding, please have a look. Didn't see this behaviour before and it works fine in AE 2024.Thanks (pictures inline and attached as well, plus AE project) 

Hello, I am having issues with the import of 3D objects in After Effects beta. 3D objects will not preview but will show only the shape path. How can I solve this issue? 

 hello. after effect simply crash when trying to play a mpeg2 or h264 file.it crash when just double clicking on it to view it.it crash when > after creating a composition with it by draging it on a new comp > then trying to scrub the time line.this is happening this morning after i did the UPDATE suggested .  as of today 29/11/2023  10:08 am french local time. the minute before I did the update, same file in the project I was working with work working perfectly. thanks.  have a wonderfull debugging day ;)))yann ps > i can't share the file because of working policy. secret stuff blablabla.   but it';s not related to that anyway.

My file refuses to open and the app consistently crashes at around 90% at loading stage. Had been working fine piror to this. Have tried almost everything to rectify it at this stage. Any ideas? Thanks!

The 3d obj file did't working properly in After Effects (beta). Then After some time importing the obj 3d file the software was close suddenly could't show any warning information.

A bunch of previouslly-reliable scripts that use sourceRectAtTime() no longer work with latest beta builds. Try this: 1. New Comp 2. New text layer 3. run this script: var myTextLayer = app.project.activeItem.layer(1);var myRect = myTextLayer.sourceRectAtTime(0,false);alert(myRect.width); The width comes back 0

Some years ago, I reported a bug that the previews in the font menu are not always working. This bug still exists in 24.1.0x66:Cherry Blossoms, for example, should be a hand-drawn scripty font. Also, a feature request: Make the font menu's width responsive to the width of the panel. As you can see in this screenshot, there is no way of knowing (other than clicking on the font menu) if I have Copperplate Gothic Bold or Light selected, because the end of the font name is cropped off:(You'll also notice that Courier's preview is clearly not Courier.) And one more thing: This font preview size is "extra large" according to AE. Contrast this to Photoshop's largest setting (this image has probably been scaled down by this forum)...which also previews the fonts correctly. Can't you just duplicate the code from Photoshop's font menu system in AE? 

In build 59, in Advanced 3D (and Cinema 4D) cameras only have one property in Camera Options (Zoom).

Looks like the import of 3D assets is broken again - models import with no preview (just a bounding box).I tried with glb files only.Issue occures on 24.1.0.29 and the most recent 24.1.0.30.  

I was testing a 3D model yesterday (October 16th) and my model looked good. I updated the BETA this morning (October 17th) and now my model is missing some pieces. Please see image attached. I have circled the missing pieces. Version: 24.1.0.52Mac OS Ventura 13.4.1

3d obj become box

I have created a project in version 23.6. After updating to 24.0, the inserted 3D object (.glb) is no longer displayed correctly: it turns deep black. I assume this has something to do with the Mercury 3D renderer. Does anyone have the same problem? Here you can see the comparison of before and after: 

I've had multiple instances of masks failing to work. Suddenly the mask will just be a path and not mask anymore. restarting AE seems to fix it. Toggling add,substract etc does nothing, attempts to check masks are closed does nothing.  Example screenshot is 2 add masks that aren't working. 

I made double sided cards and built up 3d house of cards. Lit them etc and used custom view camera with advanced 3d... everthing was fine. then out of the blue The card surfaces got a pixelated jazzy pattern on them. Help!!!

after effect error: CINEMA 4D: render failed (5070::0) when i add a spot light to cinema 4d composition, pls fix

Hi , I'm getting some odd cache functioning when previewing advanced renderer timelines. The cache isn't accumalating as normal and also it seems to be 'adding' to memory each time it repeats a frame , buffer errors perhaps ?  I'm enjoying the 3d object import btw thanks!  AE beta v24.1.0.25 windows 10 pro 19045.3448 

Steps to reproduce:I work off Google Drive, which has been fine, until the last AE beta update, where projects seem to freeze on asset download, but never seems to recover (spinning beachball, no assets downloading), and I have to force quit AE. I've attached logs, which show a few warnings and errors. I'm able to open the same project in AE 23.6 without a problem.Result: crashExpected: project to openSystem infoApplication: After Effects (Beta) v24.1.0.34OS: macOS v14.0.0, RAM: 64.00 GB GB, CPUs (logical): 10 (M1 Max)

Steps to reproduce:  importing various 3D objects (obj, glb, gltf) from 2 sources : illustrator files or stager exported files placing on a comp manipulating the "frame" around the object with the 3D gizmo Result: ... On Mac OS (Sonoma) I find glb files which used to show up using the Mercury renderer are now just an empty bounding box. Is this going on for anyone else?

the effects panel lets me write the name of the effect , and responds to the search , but i can't click on it or drag the effects or even scroll on it
