So I've successfully done all the updates mentioned, and attempted my first run with this process. It did NOT work. 36,191 images in my LR at the point of 'Edit in Photoshop' - PS launches, image appears, I make adjustements, duplicate a layer or two, close the file (and obviously agree to save the changes), image closes, and when I go back to LR (and wait a few mins to be sure), nothing has updated with the modified image. I still have 36,191 images in my library. So, these updates have not made any difference to me.
Recent difficulties with custom sort order for collections in LR Mobile on my iPad Air. Sometimes, if I drag an image to the left border to move the image in front of an image that is currently at the left edge of the matrix, the sort order for the whole collection reverses top to bottom. It's as though the Sort by Capture Date reverse order arrow had been applied, but, of course, there is no reverse order arrow for Custom Order. Sometimes repeating the maneuver or tapping at the top border switches the order back. Sometimes, you have to manually drag the entire collection, one image at a time, back into the original order. Also, the sort function erratically fails to move the image into the correct spot. If I release a dragged image when the blue highlight is at the desired spot between two images, the dragged image will be placed one spot to the right instead. With the blue target line to the left border of the target image, LR deposits the moved image after that image instead of in
Lightroom CC (v1) is showing a few greyed out photos when I import from my SD card. It believes these are duplicates but they are not - I just took them this afternoon. After searching around for the filenames in my library, there are indeed other photos with the same file name (from 2013). So I'm unable to import my new photos as there's no option to ignore the suspected duplicate warnings. Lightroom Classic doesn't seem to have this problem, and allows me to import without finding these 'faux' duplicates. Perhaps it's to do with folder structure in Classic vs CC whereas the folders are all segregated in Classic and one heap in CC? Either way, even if Classic were to find duplicates, there's an option to ignore these. Lightroom CC needs smarter ways to detect duplicates, have the ability to override the suggestions, compare the suspected duplicates and offer a choice to rename. The suspected photos in my case are very different (apart from sharing the same file name).
I'm migrating a Ligthroom Classic 11.0 library to Lightroom (Cloud-based) 5.0 on a MacOS Monterey 12.0.1 and the gradients applied, either radial or linear, are not carried over. I've attached a screenshot. Is this a known bug?
Issue: Lightroom Version Number: 7.2.1 OS Version Number: 15.4 Steps to reproduce: Click on the cloud icon Click on the gear icon In this screen, the translation for unused storage is incorrectly translated Expected result: In Dutch, we would say "vrij" (free) or "ongebruikt" (unused). In the Mac version, it's "vrij". Actual result: "Ontgrendeld" (meaning Unlocked)
I have what I think is a relatively modest Lightroom footprint (just under 39k photos in the cloud, with local replica, just under a TB of data). Most of my Lightroom use is on a Mac Studio (M1 Max, 32GB ram), MacOS 12.6. I previously rolled back from LR 5.5 to LR 5.4, as 5.5 performance was abysmal. Performance returned to normal with the rollback to 5.4. I upgraded from 5.4 to 6.0 2 days ago. Since then, it takes an extended period of time (hours) for folders/albums/photos to appear in the left side navigation, and even once it does, Lightroom 6.0 is unsuable--clicking between albums doesn't trigger an update in the photo pane, creation of new albums/folders doesn't appear in the navigation pane, etc. Everything still works fine directly via the web and in the iOS apps. I'm tempted to roll back to 5.4, but was curious if anyone else has experienced this, and if there's anything I should do first before rolling back.
In the 2.8.1 version it looks as though not all metadata is correctly exported no matter the settings in the options. I am not talking about the caption etc but all the other IPTC metadata. If I use another application to set this data on import to the ipad - If there is no caption - The copyright already in the photos stays intact. If a caption exists the copyright is stripped. There are also "strange" things happening with exporting images with metadata to camera roll on the ipad. In previous releases the images exported fine and the metadata was untouched by lightroom mobile. Now it seems the exported data is reliant on there being a title and caption. There are times where i see images with no capture time after export.
I've been noticing a big performance decrease after updating to 5.4 both my iMac Pro and MacBook pro with M1 Pro CPU. After I open the app and start working in the beginning everything is alright, snappy and quick. After a while (5-10 min or less) I experience slow loading of photos - when switching from one to another; when zooming and when switching panels. Sometimes this lag is around 3-4 sec which is very noticable. The GPU is doing its thing because the graphics are not choppy, but there's just a delay in doing the above mentioned processes. Anyone else experiencing such issue on Mac?
Issue: The filmstrip in Lightroom CC 5.4 is not shown in Compare view (and the filmstrip icon is greyed out). Lightroom version: Lightroom version: 5.4 x64 [ 20220607-0605-ab0fd72 ] (Jun 7 2022)OS and version: Windows 10 Steps to reproduce the behavior: Step 1 : In Detail or Edit view, switch OFF the filmstrip by clicking on the filmstrip icon (bottom right corner)Step 2 : Go to Compare view by clicking on Compare icon (bottom left corner) Expected result: Lightroom should show the filmstrip in the bottom on the screen (or at least have the filmstrip icon not greyed out to be able to activate it).Actual result: Lightroom doesn't show the filmstrip and the filmstrip icon (in the bottom right corner) is greyed out. See screenshot attached.
Hi everyone! So recently I noticed that my lightroom catalog was not showing all of the photos when in grid view. The more recent photos are visible, but as I scroll down in my catalog, all photos do not show up. What I see is just a few photos sprinkled around the grid with many blanks in between. I can click on all the blanks and their size is shown in their outlines but nothing shows up. I have tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling it but that did not work. In my settings I have my originals saved to my external SSD and a copy of smart previews stored on my computer's drive. I also have a photo cache of 10GB set up which is the default. What is weird is I can click on the missing photos and they pull up normally and display correctly in detail view. Then when I go back to grid view, they are gone. If it makes a difference I am using a M1 Macbook Pro. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?
Hi, While working with Lightroom (Cloud-based) I see under the versions of my picture an indicator on what device the picture at that stage was edited. Here I found a common made mistake in localizing from English to Dutch. Here is Desktop translated as Bureaublad (what is the literal translation). For us this means the main screen of your computer with all the icons etc. or the top panel of your desk and it doesn't describe the computer (device) itself. The correct translation would be either just the same as in English Desktop or another option would be Computer. Many words in the Dutch languages are borrowed from the English language and mainly when it comes to computers 😄. Screenshot of where this issue is located:
Hey folks, trying to navigate an issue where my phone display turns off with the pro camera in Lightroom pulled up and when my phone is reopened the display is reduced to the size it would be if the phone was being held portrait. This persisted even when rotated, after closing and reopening the app. I was able to reset the issue by redownloading the app for a short period before the issue reoccurred. Pleas asssist with any advice on how to resolve. I love the pro camera feature. It provides a lot of basic control over the cameras in an iPhone. Thank You!
I use lightroom on ipad. When I finished importing photos with the camera, a dialog box popped up "you can check progress in the cloud menu." I clicked on "View" and entered this album, and I can no longer return to the homepage or view other albums. After uninstalling the APP and reinstalling it, opening Lr also stays in this "cloud menu". I can't enter the other albums still.
hello, for some reason, lightroom is not exporting in the order shown in the catalogue. can anyone help please? thanks 🙂
Lightroom mobile camera for iphone 13 does not have technology previews. On the settings menus there is not an item to open and use technology previews.
The lightroom camera app will delete any photos it has not processed if a log in is forced by the app. Adobe customer service told me that this is working AS INTENDED. I spend hours on the phone with them. They obviously were aware of the problem and kept trying to blame it on me. I lost hundreds of pictures from a once-in-a-lifetime backpacking trip. I posted a review to warn other consumers and your "developer" told me this is not working as intended. Which is it, adobe? WHY WOULD YOU BUILD THIS FUNCTION INTO YOUR APP? You could at least warn people not to reconnect to the internet before processing photos! I'm such a horrible person, I wanted to call my family for the first time in weeks and obviously should've finished processing photos first, jeez. Shame on me!....... Also, you have done this twice to me, and the first time you made up a big story about how it was a bug that you had fixed.
Hi, I've recently subscribed to Lightroom and am being met with this error message upon trying to import any images. 'Some photos were not added. Unable to copy file.' I've seen 2 other posts on here of the same issue but the solutions posted there didn't work. I'm using windows 10, imported the files from my SD card to my hard drive. I am then trying to import to lightroom from my hard drive. Thanks in advance
Hey! I was gonna rate my most recent photos, I usually use the star rating system with the keys 1-5 referring to their belonging number of stars. The keys 1-4 works fine, but pressing "5" does note rate the photo five stars - it seems to do nothing. Under "Photo - rating - 0,1,2,3,4,5 - the 5 stars is apparantly connected to key "13" which I do not understand. Im using windows, and there is seemingly no option to change keybindings.
Hey, just updated Lightroom Mobile on my Samsung S21+ and immediately got a problem. After editing my photos I'm usually exporting them to other editing apps (e.g. Polar) because I like adding white borders to my work (and it's not possible in lightroom yet). It's not possible for me to export my photos directly to polar anymore. Have you guys removed the links to other editing software? Or is it just a bug? {Thread title updated by moderator}
Lightroom Desktop 5.4 running on Windows 10 PRo Steps to reproduce:- While editing an image, open the Geometry panel and select the Rotate slider. Note that the grid overlay no longer appears on the image, making it difficult to ensure lines in the image are vertical or horizontal. Same applies to the Horizontal and Vertical adjustments. For Rotate a workaround is to use the Crop tool instead (grid works OK).

My Lightroom mobile keeps crashing when I try to use the new mask select features on any raw images. Is this happening to anybody else?? I have the iphone 8
Since the latest update to 5.2 Lightroom CC just keeps crashing every time that I open it. It won't load my previously synced albums and if it works only does for a minute or two before a crash report pops up
