Captivate

Years ago we produced a number of training materials using Adobe Captivate and exported them in Flash (.swf) format. Since Flash will be de-supported in near future, we decided to convert all these materials to video (.mp4) format (as understood, such function is available Adobe Captivate). However, the original files in .cptx format are lost; and now we only have the .swf files.As we only have Adobe Captivate 2017 installed, we hope like to know whether it is possible to:1) import the .swf file to Adobe Captivate; plus2) edit the .swf file (e.g. remove the buttons or interactive features embedded in the original Flash file)Thank you very much.

Is it possible to add a light background audio/music/tone throughout the project so that the blanks and pauses don't seem empty. Is there any built-in tone/audio in captivate that can be used?It should be something that doesn't distract the mainline audio and the user.

We have create a course using Captivate. Now we want to change CSS of some elements like header panel,  footer and banner at run time. How can we do that. Also, can we replace any image from course HTML with any other image at runtime using javascript? We were able to find functions like cp.hide("ss1"); cp.show("ss2");cp.changeState("","");Where can we find complete list of all javascript functions provided in Captivate module.

Hi everyone, I'm hoping that someome may be able to advise me how to get over the issues I'm having regarding the submit button on quiz question slides. I have added in some question slides but when clicking the Submit button sometimes it moves on after 1 click other times it's taking 2 clicks but I can't find any reason for this. I've run some tests with the questions and sometimes a question which took 2 clicks, next time takes 1 and another which moved on on 1 click then takes 2. Users only have one attempt at each of these questions because they can change their answer before submitting.  On advice I've changed the On Success from Contiue to Jump to but it's made no difference. The only thing I've changed is the colour of the Submit button. Thank you to everyone for any advice/help would be great as I have spent so much time on this but without any progress.

I am currently working with the glossary widget.  I have it in a slide in the course in slide 5 but then the aesthetics of it carry over to the next picture in slide 6. How do I change this so it dosen't do this? 

In microsoft power point 2013 and 2016, importing wmv or mp4 files into the presenter is not available.When imoprt a video file such as wmv, the media encoder will run and convert to another format I can not import a video file.Is there a solution?

I have created question pools and added the correct amount of random question slides to my main project and have now published. The user will have three attempts to pass this quiz. It seems that if the user fails the quiz the first time and retakes the quiz again, the SAME questions in the SAME order are appearing again. My question is, Is there a way to ensure that on subsequent attempts, the user is seeing a different set of questions on retake? I am using 11.5.5.553 captivate 2019 version.

Have a .png file I am using as a button.  I have Use as Button selected.  Under Actions: On Success: Jump to slide and I have a slide choosen.  Infinnite Attemps is selected but nothing happens.  I cleared the cache and shut down and restarted.  Any suggestions?  

Hi All, This is long winded, so bare with me. I have a slide with multiple TEB and one submit button. I play with this for a period, until it suddenly stops working. When I revert everything back to the original settings, it still doesn't work and validate. But I don't know why. I'll explain the scenario for those wanting to create multiple TEB, with one submit button, and maybe someone can see my mistake along the way. I am creating a crossword. Each box/cell has 1 TEB in it that i use for the user to enter a letter.I have created a separate variable for each TEB. For example, variables W, I, S, E.I assign each variable to each TEB. e.g. W for the first TEB, I to the second, S to the third etc etcI have created an Advanced Action. The action is conditional - Perform Actions 'IF' 'All conditions are true'The first line of the if statement is if (variable) W contains (literal) W (Note: for some reason it wouldn't validate if I used Exact instead of Contains, but thats for anot

Our company has a Microsoft Stream server and we're looking to use it to host the videos that are part of our E-learning courses. As Captivate 2019 doesn't support Stream in the way that it does YouTube and Vimeo, I need to insert the video as an embedded web object. I'm able to get the video to work using this approach; however, when I test the slide using a screen reader (e.g., JAWS), I'm not able to use the Tab key to select the video, so I can't start it. Autoplay is no good because browsers ignore it (also, Stream doesn't support autoplay muted, not that the attribute would help anyway). I also noticed that the Web object doesn't appear in the tab index within the Captivate slide. When I use the same embed code in a plain webpage, I can use the Tab key to select the video and then press the spacebar or Enter key to start it. Does anyone know of a way to make this web object a tabbable element? Is there a better way to embed this type of video? And, no, YouTube and Vimeo aren'

Hello,Using Captivate 2019, build 11.5.5.553.I have a course on an LMS that uses a TOC set to Navigate Visited Slides Only. This works as advertised as long as you are in the current session. We just discovered that if you exit the LMS and return, the TOC correctly indicates the visited slides but they are not selectable. My TOC settings are shown below, along side the TOC. In the TOC example below, the first five slides were viewed in the previous session. The Rollover state does not show nor are those slides selectable. I don't think there is anything I can change in the TOC Settings. I'm using the default LMS Advanced Settings. Hoping for a solution from the community as I have several courses set up the same way.Thank you.  

Hey All, I created a Glossary Widget for this course I am writing. The exit buttons aren't showing up in the preview but they are showing up in the master slide deck.What's up with this? 

Im working on a 360 project where i have multiple quiz slides (static page with web content loading external content) in between 360 slides. My client is asking if we can provide them with a quiz menu with individual quiz slides as subtopic at the end of the TOC linking all the Quiz slides.For example:Page 1 - 360 imagePage 2 - quiz slide 1Page 3 - 360 image...Page 10 - 360 imagePage 11 - quiz slide 2This repeats like 5 more time.will i be able to link all the quiz slides like the belowQuizquiz slide 1quiz slide 2

We have a few Captivate SCORM packages and we want to edit the code to force HTML5 version. It is already supported and works on Mobile but on PCs it is seeing Adobe Flash enabled (although it recently expired and is not considered there), and fails to load the fallback HTML5. We don't have the source files to edit the project and thus we are trying to edit the .js files to load HTML5 and remove the SWF file. Can you help point out which files to edit to do that? Thanks.

Hi everybody, I recorded the screen with Captivate and there is a black box in the lower right corner of the screen. Both in the preview and the final video. Does anybody have this? Is this a bug? This way the video cannot be used. Check out the attached file. Thanks for any kind of help.

I have just added a scroll box to my CP project. It is in norwegian and our alphabet contains tre more letters then the english alphabet. When I publish the special letters changes into ?-symbol. How can I fix this? 

Hello,New to the community and I just wanted to ask if there was a way I could completely remove the previous version of Captivate from my laptop. I was given access to an enterprise account which I had to install on my laptop, as my company's desktop didn't have the required specs to run the program. I've recently resigned and I was thinking of getting an individual license.  I couldn't sign out of the account that's associated with the software installed on my laptop because I no longer have access to the email. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling captivate using my new account, but as soon as it launches I just get a message telling me that my membership's expired and the credentials displayed are still those from my old company. When I click on the option to log in with a different Adobe ID, it suddenly tells me that I need to update my browser. It is updated though, and I've also tried the other workarounds involving the registry and the P7 file. Is there any w

Hi,I just downloaded the trial version of Adove Captivate. I want to try the app to see if it has any useful features for my projects. I already have a full Creative Cloud subscription and have no problem installing programs. But as far as Captivate is concerned, I can't seem to launch the product. The installation was successful but when I try to launch the program, it freezes on the loading screen and stays that way until I force close the program.Can anyone help me?The only thing I can report is that during the installation I removed the flag on the installation of Adobe Media Encoder because I already have the AME version of the Creative Cloud package.Thank you.Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)

I’ve created closed captions using previous versions of Captivate. The process I follow is to open the Closed Captioning tab in Slide Audio. I insert a caption at the beginning then play the audio. When the audio reaches the end of the text in the first closed caption, I pause and insert a new caption. Paste in the text then repeat. This process has worked well with Captivate 8 and 9.Now I’m adding closed captions to a project using Captivate 10 (2017). I follow same process but after I  save, close Slide Audio window, I take a look at the closed caption text in slide notes. ALL of the text I’ve added (except for the first and last captions) has been reset to the default message. It’s taking me three times as long to add closed captions because I have to repeatedly add text for various sections of narration.Am I doing something wrong?Or was it taken for granted that this feature would continue working after all the other changes were made to the closed captioning feature so no one
